The veggie bagel was great. The lavender latte was ok, tla hot latte should be hot, which was not the case. Asked to warm and LHL was made again but was again like warm. Cashier was not friendly, but a cute place. Selections of coffee available is nice. Will give them a chance again.

We went on Independence Day Sunday, I ordered avocado toast and a flat white. The toast was large piece of unroasted bread, a whole sliced avocado, and salmon. Wish it was toasted or at least cream cheese. My coffee is fine, only it was miniature size and when I asked for it I asked for regular, I didnt know the size was so small, it was literally half my cup.

Lovely ladies working there have their own rules of taking order! If you are minority, they force you to the kiosk to place orders, even there is a line there (also minorities :)).If you are white, you can skip the line and they take your order at cashier!Amazing, huh? And they do this in front of your face!Dear owner, why dont you just put a sign next to the kiosk saying minority only? At least I can also avoid the yelling use the Kiosk! from your girl like I did something wrong.

This location is the worst, go to Hoboken to get good service and what you order.Edit: Twice this week we made the same order: Everything Bagel with Veggie CC, Turkey Pesto Sandwich with no tomato due to allergy. Bagel came with plain CC first day, and nothing at all the second. Both days sandwich had tomato.

This used to be my favorite place. Not anymore.Their croissants and bagels were the best I had in Jersey city but lately this place serve stale ones. I had a bagel a few days ago and it was hard as rock, I gave benefit of doubt and bought 4 croissants for me and guests over today. They were the worst croissants. They are like rocks. What an embarrassment in front of my guests after raving about them. I don’t mind paying more for good stuff. But these were the worst. NOT COOL hidden grounds!!!!Update : 07/01/2001 : After seeing owners response here, Im updating my rating to 3 star.

Love this tiny neighborhood shop!Came here with my friends and we got some matcha latte, one regular one soy. Both were great! You can customize it a little by asking for sugar free or sweetener free, and I appreciate that!I do love the design of the shop and the service was fantastic! Their coffee smells great and their food looks delicious. Would love to come back for more!

Its was just OK. The cold brew is a bit overpriced and you have to pour it yourself. So I feel a bit weird that I tipped to have someone hand me a cup with ice. The outside seating isnt very relaxing because you hear the constant ambience of Construction Sounds pounding away.

Friendly service and good coffee. The New Orleans style cold brew was really, really good. My girlfriend enjoyed the pumpkin spice muffin she ordered as well. Seemed like staff was following covid safety and taking it seriously - everyone was masked and no more than 4 people allowed in the store at any time. Will definitely revisit next time Im in the Jersey City area.

Came in an early morning mid-week for an Iced Decaf Latte, and Iced Cold Brew. We knew of this place from the Hoboken location and had a great experience there (I even own a bloody hoodie from this coffee shop.)Upon arrival, I noticed a kiosk iPad situation and decided to order through that as there was two individuals in line before us. We ordered the above referenced drinks, but unfortunately completely forgot the select decaf for the iced latte. The decaf selection on the Kiosk is 50 cents (I later found this out.) Please keep that in mind. They upcharge for decaf when literally every other café / coffee shop in Hoboken / Jersey City does not... to the best of our knowledge as we have been to many.Only remembering to request decaf comes after we pay, and I apologize and request for the decaf espresso shot instead of the regular. The response is, You have to pay for that. Followed by, It is 75 cents or something, so like 1 Dollar with tax. I of course question this, as one its poor customer service, and two - who upcharges for decaf? The cashier then proceeds to put exactly one dollar on the register screen, when in actuality if the up-charge is 75 Cents, then the total is only 0.8025 which equates to only 80 Cents with NJ State Tax. Not a whole 25 Cents for tax.Just a very very weird experience from a multi-location coffee shop this morning, and needless to say, they have lost a customer for the next 2 years over $1.00. Kind of bummed since the latte tasted quite good. Hence the three stars.PS - Helpful tip for future customers of Hidden Grounds - use the kiosk as the prices are cheaper than at the register for some odd reason. The upcharge for decaf on the mini kiosk is only 50 Cents instead of the proposed 75 Cents at the register. Weird.

I’m a little torn between giving it a 3 and 4 stars. And I’ll tell you why. The place is a little tricky to find. It just merges around with the grey walls and Tesla charging slots so don’t be mad if you miss it out the first time. It literally felt like it was hidden, living upto it’s name😂.The ambience is really nice, if you’re dining in. Their coffee is nice. And tell you what, I got it for free (consider going on a Monday).Their Bombay sandwich wasn’t as good as it hyped. Being an Indian myself, I had higher expectations and wasn’t wowed to be honest. The almond croissant are a good buy if you’re looking for a bite.

2nd update: Im dropping this all the way to 1 star now and never visiting again. This place has gone to the dumps. I ordered a mocha and it was SOUR; who orders a mocha to satisfy a sour craving? That makes 4 bad coffees in a row. Also the counter area was swarming with flies, so disgusting, I was worried flies might land in my coffee as it was being made. Still cant believe my favorite cafe in the area has degraded to such a state, a clear case of neglect after tasting success.Update: Im knocking my review down to 3 stars from 5. The quality of service has clearly degraded. A week ago the barista charged me for oat milk when I said whole milk. Today the same barista attempted the same thing but I caught him, yet he proceeded to make a hot chocolate instead of a mocha, then implicitly blamed me for ordering a cocoa instead of a mocha and not knowing the difference. English is my first language and I have no accent at all, so it cant be my problem. Cocoa and mocha dont even sound remotely similar. The quality of the mochas has also degraded in general; they dont give me the same satisfaction as it once did. I feel like the technique has not been passed down properly to the newer employees. Anyways, I hope they fix things up or Im switching back to Maggies.A year ago:Best coffee in the Exchange Place/Grove St area! I cant say Ive explored that much, but its far superior to the lacking Lackawanna, Maggies Farm Espresso and, obviously, Starbucks. Would recommend to anyone that appreciates good coffee.

This place has taken a nose dive. Girlfriend and I live closeby, and my work team loves their rose chai so weve been coming for a few years. Since middle last year, the service has become subpar and the attitudes provide a very poor customer experience. We walked in 10 minutes before opening today (door was open and we werent aware it wasnt open yet), and we were met with a sarcastic youll know its open when the lights are on...a simple hey we arent open, could you wait outside for 10 minutes? wouldve sufficed. I think theyve officually lost the several hundred dollars I spend there every month.

Is in a great location no doubt. But they only have three tables, an uncomfortably tall couch on one wall, not a place to sit down and eat with others. Food is as expected, not cheap. Then she insults me i cant use the bathroom unless a paying customer. Anyone with good customer service skills would say be right with you. She also did not tell me my price purchase of my order which is fine. Gentleman that work week days always let me know price and friendly. Im a regular customer so i know the price for cappuccino.
