Were from Tampa up here working on the interstate, our concrete saw needed the starter assembly repaired.I walked in and told them I was in a hurry and they had it fixed in 10 min. Awesome place!

Customer service is definitely a lost art with this business. Called to see if I could get a clutch cable for my riding mower. The second I mentioned the brand I was unable to be helped because it was not a brand they sell. Dont call for parts unless you purchased your mower from them or they will not help you. The response from the owner to this review is a joke as my mower is a Honda!
If you are in the business of Lawn maintenance or your just a do it yourself gardener, then this store is just for you. Their staff is excellent and they have a top notch service center.
I was so impressed with store employee Jason who I think is the manager. He is so knowledgeable and goes out of his way to help you. This place is so clean and well stocked and staff is friendly. Highly recommend this business.

I am glad I can write this review. A few days ago it may have been very different than what youre about to read, but I am one happy customer. I needed my Honda lawnmower serviced (the self-propel mechanism was no longer working and really needed an oil change) and Nichols was recommended to me by a few people. Drop off and intake was super easy. Only bummer was that it would take potentially up to 2 weeks to get it back. The intake rep discussed my work order with me and shared sometimes repairs like mine are quick adjustments and sometimes they are more involved, but they would need to get into it first. He gave me an estimated cost and said if they encountered anything else, or any other significant work, they would call me and discuss first before moving forward (a lot like your typical auto mechanic might do when dropping off your car). Knowing about the 2-week time period and having not yet heard anything, after 5-6 days I decided to call just to see if maybe things were moving along. The rep apologized and said due to the backlog they hadnt started looking at it yet. No big deal, I knew about the 2 week time period. Still hearing nothing by the end of the 2 week time period I called again. The rep informed me everything was done but they were waiting on a valve cover that appeared to be on backorder, which was slowing down the completion of the job. At that point I was getting a little bothered because I had called twice without any calls from Nichols, and now Im finding out they were ordering parts for things that I didnt ask for - and was not called beforehand to discuss - and for which they said wed discuss before moving forward. My yard had gone now 2 weeks without mowing and was very high given rains. The rep then shared it would probably not be until middle of the next week before things would be done, so I had to look at borrowing a mower to get the yard done. Heres the good part, and I am very happy Nichols came through. Instead of getting a call on Wed I got a call on Mon (2 days earlier than expected). Mower was ready. Final price was only slightly more than expected. The work exceeded my expectations. Not only was the self-propel adjusted and the oil changed but they replaced the defective valve cover, installed a new spark plug, serviced the mower, sharpened the blades, greased the rear pinion gears, serviced the air filter, and increased the RPMs. Was quick and easy to pay, get loaded up and get home. When I got home, I started the mower and it performed flawlessly! The self-propel was so strong, even my kids wanted to come out and try it because they literally had to run behind the mower to keep up with it. Well done Nichols! Youve earned my business for a long time to come. Thank you for a job well done!
Never thought that these guys would let me down I brought a brand new mower about a year off showroom floor and my belt shredded because of rubbing against metal so my hydraulic fluid has been leaking for weeks and so Sunday I put a brand new belt on the mower and it did the same thing with in 30 min meaning that its been doing it since Ive had the mower and so their saying that the new belt caused it instead and being real they try and find their way out of this one and its not right...You dont do valuable customers like that. But its all good Imma leave it up to God to deal with that. I am done doing business with Nichols. Whats so sad is that I havent even had this mower for a year and their blaming me. Why would I have to change a belt on a brand new mower within 8 months...It doesnt make sense at all but Ive washed my hands with th e m and wish them the best

I have a Gravely Prostance that sheered the bolt off the idler pulley. I went to the closest Gravely dealer in Mandarin and I was told that it would be 2-3 weeks to get my part in with no other options. I called Nichols Equipment, I spoke with Gary and he told me the same thing but asked me to come in to the store to see if he could match the pulley up. So I drove to Beach Blvd and arrived at the store and met Gary. He had the same size pulley but the bolts did not match up. He had an insert for the inside of the pulley which matched up perfectly. My down time was zero. I highly recommend this store, they are top notch. Gary went above and beyond. Customer for life.
Get your lawn stuff here. You wont regret it. Everyone at Nichols knows what theyre doing. I bought a Honda commercial mower there, appx $1200, about three months ago (wanted to use it a few times before reviewing). Before I bought, Id done quite a bit of research, shopped around, called Nichols twice before going in to look at their product line. Once there, I spoke with two more reps before making a final decision. Every one of the people I spoke with could speak intelligently about this mower and others in the store. The transaction was flawless. No one pressured me into buying and in fact, one of the sales people suggested I might be overbuying for my needs, and recommended one that was a step down in price. Of all the appliance, AC, car, stereo etc type purchases Ive done over the years, this was one of the best retail transactions Ive ever had. Even when calling back to ask questions, whoever picks up the phone knows the answers...no transfers, no long holds, no going to get a more knowledgeable employee etc. A+ place.

Excellent company. Very reliable and willing to help. The owner is very professional and does not micromanage his reps. The reps are very willing to answer questions and steer you in the right direction. The mechanics follow through with their work and deal with us companies one on one. Lawn equipment and services are expensive in general but that’s acrossthe board with any company and brand, unless you buy residential grade equipment.

VERY good experience. Im seriously considering a Gravely zero-turn. Have done online research, but needed some ques answered, and wanted to actually see the mower. John greeted me, waited to hear my story, and proceeded to answer all questions with knowledge and courtesy. My wife hasnt appropriated the funding yet, but when she does, Ill buy here.

Got a new mower for the house yesterday research alot of mowers got a great deal on a cub cadet self propeller mower the service was great put gas in it and showed me everything about it and the 3 year warranty is the best and helped me load it up in the truck

Just bought a zero turn from them. Had a bad vibe when doing business with one of the guys. Being a new user to the zero turn, didn’t really know what to look for before taking it home. Now with only one time use, one of the belt is vibrating really hard. Mower has a three year warranty but shouldn’t be vibrating that hard. Going to let them look at the mower and see what excuses they come up. Hope these guys will be honest and fix it. I will update.
No help ever here. Trying to get a part for something, mention the name of the motor. Counter guy says...we will not have that. No looking it up, no cross reference, not even an attempt to help... just...no no no. This is the third time this has happened to me at Nichols. I will never go back or recommend to anyone.

Wednesday Afternoon 3/13/19,,,,,,,I stopped into Nichols to inquire on a piece of equipment because Im thinking about buying a new mower I was greeted fairly quickly and the first gentleman and I talked a little bit and then he passed me off to another person.Young man came over and I was sitting on the equipment and I started asking questions he seemed to have no interest in what I had to say,The next thing I know he just walks away.Just before leaving I started looking at other pieces of equipment which in turn seem to not Spark any of the other people working behind the counter because no one came to me and asked me if I had any more questions eventually I made my way to the door.With this being said, if you were to ask me the question would I RECOMMEND Nichols EQUIPMENT........... THE ANSWER WOULD be ABSOLUTELY NOT. Will report if have any issues with the work done.Update: Although I had very good service when I needed something repaired I got horrible service when I came in interested to buy a new mower. Young guy seemed to have little knowledge of inventory and said they didn’t really have anything that was for residential use with 1acre lot. Lowering to 2 stars.

Great place to buy quality lawn equipment. Makes sense to buy from a small business that has been around for over 50 years. I finally got smart and bought a STIHL weed trimmer that will last me forever, instead of buying the same cheap ones they have at the depot. Which you know once they break, theres no replacement and no repairs. This place has its own repair and service shop in house! Do yourself a favor and check them out. Great people to buy from, and great follow up after the sale.

If you take your machine to Nichols for work, my advice would be to specify that you would like it WORKING when it is returned. I dropped my machine off for a deck replacement and when I picked it up the machine would not start anymore. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to not verify your craftsmanship by STARTING THE MACHINE. Never again. I would advise caution with these guys.$150 to get a previously working machine returned in UNWORKING condition. Nice.
Nichols equipment, Stihl chainsaw, 2 years old, took it back for repairs, they came back with a rip off price. Took it to Ace hardware for repair, $50.00 cheaper. Service much better, people friendlier

I spent 400.00 in parts and service fee,s on my polesaw, new carb, outer shaft, bearings and bushings, I got tired of taking it back after bout 3rd time, it still aint right, some days it runs like a champ, some days it barley turns the chain, I got frustrated and gave up on them, I spent the money, bought the parts, paid service fee,s, I shouldnt be having issues, I wouldnt recommend this shop to nobody, try Ronnies in mandarin, I,all probably be paying them to fix my saw, should have went there from the start.
