Another Sears Going Out of Business due to mismanagement at the CEO position. The reason for the collapse of this iconic retailer is Amazon. Even more amazing is Amazon copied their marketing model on Sears& Roebuck catalog sales from the earliest days of Sears startup. The current Sears CEO focused entirely on brick and mortar big box stores, ignoring Internet based sales. How ironic a death for this onetime giant.

Sears is already in trouble and closing stores, so they decided to cut staff. I was in today to buy a simple mattress pad and Sears has the best price, BUT, you cant pay for anything, the entire store had about ten employees, mostly engaged in conversation among themselves. There were three cashiers in the entire store two on the second floor and one on the first floor. One of the two on the second floor was paralyzed trying to do returns for a woman who had a carton full of Lands End childrens clothes (worn apparently), the other was too busy speaking with some customer who must have been a long lost relative. On the first floor the cashier was too busy to ring a sale because he was looking up something on a Sears website computer for a customer who had never seen a computer before. I did find a cashier in the appliance department who complained because I was purchasing something from bedding and I should have paid up in the department. This was 2:30 in the afternoon an a Tuesday. I had the same experience the last time I tried to buy something at Sears way back during the Christmas sale period. I will be back in this Sears tomorrow and just take whatever I want without the extended aggravation of trying to actually pay. No one will ever know, no one will even notice. While this store looses sales and inventory shrinks, they will continue to cut staff, so this will become easier and easier. I recommend Sears just turn off the lights and air conditioning leave the doors propped open, send that last one or two of the staff home and put itself out of its misery.

Sears has not updated their stores and kept up with the times. This is part of what has caused their decline. They keep their appliance prices too high . Clothing and jewelry often have good sales, though. Now, they are closing their stores so take advantage of store closing sales while you can.

OK, here is a review that all should see and make note of for their benefit: Sears, to the best of my knowledge, has filed for bankruptcy, and has NO working customer service telephone numbers. I have been calling two Sears stores located in Jacksonville, Florida, and all I get is a recording. I even tried their Corporate Headquarters, but that call too was routed to Corporate Holdings. In other words, no one and nothing. Each subsequent call was re-routed to the Philippines or Mexico. No person is available to take your call in this country. In short, and after being a customer for over 50 years, I am no longer a customer of Sears. Their service cannot be rated because it doesnt exist! Now I see why Sears is effectively out-of-business, or so it appears - what a disgrace! Update: Sears, as we know it, is now gone as far as I know. Good riddance.

I got an email with a great coupon and decided to go take a look. This place is like a ghost town. When I went, there only seemed to be about 4 other customers in the same department. This would ordinarily make for a great shopping experience, however, I was searching for a comforter for a teenager who is in college. I didnt see anything that I thought she would enjoy. Friendly associates made great suggestions.

The closing discounts were 20 to 30% and it was still too expensive. Why dont you try to sell something? Then I finally picked up some stuff to make it worth the trip and there was no one at the cashier for 5 min. So I left. Harbor Freight quality at SnapOn prices lol. Keep trying Craftsman.

Always felt like this location was closing down. It has a very empty warehouse feel to it. We were told our coupon wouldnt get honored because it would make our mattress too good of a deal. We were using points with the coupon. We earned the points and shouldve been able to use the 10% off since it abided by all the fine print.

I like that they have good prices and nice products although they have been shrinking little by little along the years. It is too bad that this store is closing. Retail stores have to reinvent themselves. The internet it is definetely making things easier for the buyer however it is hurting workers from stores across the nation. I think of those who will loose their jobs and their families.

Nice quality items but awful store experience. I went last night and saw about 5 customers in the entire store, not a joke. There were staff who were wandering around. I had trouble paying for my item. One employee said they could only do bedding. The price on-line was cheaper on their website. The cashier told me the easiest thing was to use my phone to pay for the item (which was in my hands) and go downstairs to pick it up after they pull it. Bizarre. I went to another cashier and they matched their own price. This store isnt going to make it. How is it still open?

Come on people support SEARS!!! This is a terrific store for clothes, appliances and much more. I like JCPenney as well....our traditional department stores need you to frequent them and if you havent been there for awhile, you should return. Im not especially fond of the Avenues Mall for all stores in general so prefer the Orange Park Mall but its your decision. I particularly like the lenses (Techview) and frames (Ray Ban) and service (Thanks Glenn) at Sears Optical

Was in there today looking to buy appliances. I have always enjoyed shopping at sears until today.If you want your appliances quick and in a timely manner, go somewhere else. Take pictures of the current prices and take them anywhere else for price matching. I was told today; I couldnt get a stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator until middle of November. Drove to Home Depot right down the street and Ill have them in 2 days minus the delivery fee that Sears charges. Dont waste your time here.

I went to Sears to buy a new bed. After wondering the floor, laying on beds reviewing prices (on my own) hoping for a sales associate to show up... I walked over to a register to ask the ladies there if someone was available to assist me with beds? They insisted there was a lady in that section. After assuring them there wasnt... they didnt offer to call someone or assist me to the best of their ability. So I left, went to Mattress Firm and spent my $2500 there. Sad really Sears used to be a great place to shop. Not a wonder they a filing bankruptcy paperwork.

June 13th, My wife purchased tires and installation. Shortly after completing the purchase she was prompted to select an installation date, which she did. We moved our schedules around to get the tires installed on our family van. Soon after she received a call saying the tires were not there and the representative was very rude as she was upset because we both had to move our schedules around, me taking time off work. So I took over to get it done without any issues or delay as the man Bart, whom was rude to her seemed to have a different attitude when speaking to a man vs a woman. I was able to get a date for the installation and got it taken care of. Less than a week later, we had just got on the interstate heading to Orlando for our family vacation. 3 kids and two adults including myself. All of a sudden we hear this clunking noise and what sounded like a demon roaring in our ears. Trying to stay calm and not sure what was happening we merge into the emergency lane. As I am looking in the review mirror I see our spare tire racing towards on coming traffic. This caused one car to swerve almost hitting another and running over the tire. WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR SOMEONE ELSE KILLED OR SEVERELY INJURED. This was on the 22nd of June. I have since called and filed a complaint twice (The first one was never actually filed). Every time I call I am being told that this person or that person will follow up with me within X time frame. I wait for the call that never comes, and have to call back. The rep I speak to assure me that they take this very seriously and will escalate promising more calls from store or corporate office reps. I did finally receive a call from the department manager. He just wanted to gather info and said his manager will be in contact that day or the following Saturday. I asked if he was sure as it was a Saturday, he reassured me yes he will call. The call didnt come until mid day on Monday and I spoke to the store manager Erie. Again he just wanted to call and gather info, made promises that I would receive a call from his District Director Michael within 24 hours. That was on Monday and it is now Friday, no call has came. I have called Erie and left message twice on separate days, no response, I have called customer service 5 times since, spending an hour on hold and then the call hangs up. I know this is a long review, I hope every person who reads this will consider the consequences to Sears customers for doing business with them! They Lie, They push you off to keep you at bay, all while hoping you will just go away! They have no integrity while they seem to be concerned this has happened to my family and other people on the road, yet their lack of any action or follow up clearly states otherwise.

I would say that I was treated fare and had a great experience. I called on a busy day and was told to come in bye the Manager John. He said he would stay after close to help me out with my battery issue. I got there right before close and they helped me even thou they were backed up. I came to this Sears location to pick up a washer and dryer that I ordered online. The pickup was easy and the staff member that loaded them was nice. I like that I was able to just walk in and scan the email barcode they sent me and all I had to do was wait 2 min and here comes my new washer and dryer to load up.

Too hot inside store for customers to shop. Displays are poorly put together, they look sloppy. Quality of Mens clothing low and cheap looking. Stores really seem to be struggling. On the bright side, love the appliance section and display. First thing you see when you come in. Wife liked the variety in the womens section.

She is and has been around for probably a hundred years its America store they carry American merchandise and they have good products that they have and their prices are fantastic and theres a lot of discounts and coupons and dont listen to the hype that they going to go out of business theyll be around for maybe another hundred years or two when I was growing up in Long Island thats why we shopped I bought my first set of tools there when I was 16 and they were guaranteed for life I still have them and they still are under the guarantee its a lifetime theres not too many companies that give you a lifetime guarantee I mean I could think of a few like Zippo and some of the other tool companies

So today is December 17th and has still not been resolved? A technician was at my home for the 4th time, He tried on the new part couldn’t get it fixed. He called in for the machine to be replaced two weeks ago and I still have not heard from anyone. It has been 4 months and I still cant get anyone to resolve this? And I paid 309.00 for the extended warranty. Shame on you people you’re work ethics do not exist. Years ago Sears was the place to shop it is no wonder their going out of business or redoing their stores. I do hope someone here has a heart. And follows up this problem. They are even afraid to give their name on correspondence. my ride on craftsman mower was purchased in July replaced in august now the new one has had 4 service calls. and the tech told me ten days ago it will be replaced but the solution dept just told me it still has to be okay-ed y the unit. Whatever man was working in the mattress section on Nov 26th is awful. Knew nothing about the product was unbelievably unhelpful, and only interested if he could argue rudely with the customer. We gave him the exact model we were looking for and he said he didnt have it. We were able to find it on our own.

Worst experience at Sears Auto Center ever.I went for a flat tire repair covered under road hazard and the promised it would be done in two hours which I agreed. Four hours after, they told me 45 minutes more. An hour after they even started working on the car. They never called me with an update while I was waiting. I took my car and went away and and they did not care about it, actually they seem happy.If you are a Sears loyal customer maybe try Orange park or somewhere else.

I had two screwdrivers. I was therd in line. It took forever to ring up the first guy the second lady had a question about a product. The associate tools me to go to another register. On my way i saw two for associates standing and talking. There was nobody at the register. I when up stairs this in line again took 25 min to ring me up.

Its sad that in these days of online retail taking over the market that a place like Sears wouldnt do everything possible to ensure a pleasant and productive experience in their store. Other than the one sales rep and the one manager (out of two total reps and three total managers involved) being quite pleasant and apologetic and helpful, the entire experience was miserable. I went in to buy a treadmill. I wanted to actually see it and maybe try it before buying it. After looking over the one I wanted, I had to go find a sales rep. Then it took at least half an hour for him and the rest to determine that, no, they didnt have one in stock and, no, they didnt know for sure when they would have one and, no, the $40 promotion for opening a new credit card account (that I didnt want otherwise and was getting only for the promotion) would not apply unless I bought it the same day, and no, they couldnt rescind the application to do it again later if and when one actually became available, and, no, nothing could really be done. Eventually they offered me the same price on the next model up, which they did have in stock, but which was narrower and has a fancy built-in electronic tablet, with WiFi and everything, that I didnt really want (and which doesnt do much for you, really, unless you subscribe to an online fitness monitoring system that I dont want and certainly dont want to pay for), but it was otherwise equivalent, so I took it. It then took most of an hour to get checked out, for reasons that made little sense but involved having to override the system several times to apply the free shipping promotion, the lower price they offered, and the $40 promotion. Only at that point could we look at the delivery schedule to discover that it could not be delivered for ten days. Other than the primary sales rep, who was pleasant and kind and patient with the system and the managers throughout, and the one manager who was equally pleasant (unlike her two colleagues) although only briefly involved, it was a thoroughly miserable experience.

This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received from a department store and the management is worse. We purchased a Smoke Hollow Grill from Sears in July for a late present for my husband and paid for the delivery service. The grill came with deep scratches all over the lid and without a lid handle. It is now November and after multiple calls AND visits to that department, the manager of that department, and the store manager we STILL do not have a handle for this grill and have not even came close to getting this issue resolved. Terrible customer service, terrible management, and terribly rude. Will never purchase from Sears again.

Came to buy new washer dryer. Clerk helped immediately and was very knowledgable. Was shown the appropriate choices for my budget without high pressure to buy more expensive models. In 15 minutes I had a new Sears Mastercard to which the purchase was added, an appointment the next day to deliver the new pair and was very satisfied. Parked just steps from the door as an added bonus in a shaded parking garage. NO HOT CAR. YEAHHHH!

Only gave 1 star since nothing less. Will NEVER shop at Sears again. I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years. I purchased an item in May as part of a June gift. They did not need the item as they already had one. They brought back to me just this week. I took the UNOPENED item with E Receipt to Avenues Sears. Cashier wouldnt refund due to over 30 days. Really? 30-days?? I asked to see Mgr. After waiting near 10 minutes, the Manager finally appeared and refused to refund. I asked if they could at least exchange for something else. She just kept continually shaking her head No with a dont give a *** attitude. Her attitude pushed me over the edge. I have never gotten that upset with a sales rep. DO NOT SHOP AT SEARS AND SPECIFICALLY SEARS AVENUES!!!!!

People wonder why Sears is going out of business, Ill tell you why is because of their horrendous customer service. I purchased a new Oven on Monday 11/20/2017 went in for a price match since it was reduced by $ 300 and they outright refused to price match their own sale, i called the 1800 number and they also refused to find any way to help me with the excuse that they only deal with online orders and have nothing to do with physical stores. Do yourself a favor and buy your appliances from somewhere else and let Sears die the death it deserves.

No surprise that Sears is going out of business. Their customer service is a joke. I called the store number, which just rings and rings and then hangs up. I called Sears Customer Service, they cannot determine if the when items will be delivered. I purchased an expensive tool box at the store and was promised it would be delivered to the store in 5 business days. Delivery time has come and gone and now they are saying another 4-10 weeks! We live in a right now instant gratification world. Sears cannot die fast enough. Off to Amazon I go!

Walked around looking for assistance fore6ver on upper level! At one point An associate walked AWAY from me. He went to hoover in a corner on the phone, as I was calling for help. He was pleasant enough after he disengaged from his phone call. Once I made it to the lower level for merch pick up, there were more available associates(hooray!!). However, they walked right by me, despite me walking in cicles looking for Mech pick up! Never greeted the customer or anything. Once in Merch pick up there was one nice employee (only reason they are getting 2 stars).

I had the most terrible experience at Sears at the Avenues. I was looking to purchase a car battery from auto center and pull up right at 10 am opening. A auto sale staffers was walking out to a car and asked me as I was getting out of my car, “what did I need”? I replied, I just need to get a battery tested and buy a new one if needed. He said he wouldn’t be able to even test it for at least 2 hours.I see why Sears they are doing so bad. I went right down the street and had the battery tested and was out the door with a new battery in 12 mins....and that includes the 3 minutes it took to test it.Bad experience and I’ll never spend another dime at Sears.
