Absolutely fabulous. Staff was masked which was a nice change in Jax, she was crazy knowledgeable about beer!! (Jamie was her name, maybe?) They have excellent options and some great and affordable choices on top. Not to mention the adorable space. Check it out!!

Alewife creates a welcoming and cozy environment for people to explore, discover, and enjoy all that craft beer has to offer. I really enjoyed my visit here since it is a combination of craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. Whatever is not on tap, you can purchase from their shelves and drink it there with a small $2 corking fee. If you grab a beer from their shelves, they have a rapid chiller available that can chill your beer in approx. 7 minutes for you to enjoy right then and there.

A NEW FAVORITE. Unique experience for all beer drinkers and a craft beer enthusiasts paradise. Small business and family/locally owned. In a great up and coming area for dining and an evening out on the town. An excellent addition to the Jacksonville area and a MUST to visit as a beer lover. Staff is well trained and very knowledgeable on more info than you knew existed in the brewing of beer. Stop in for a cold one one at the bar, to stock up, or to gain an education.

Alewife has an incredible selection of beer and also has really wonderful NA options. Whether you are picking up some drinks to go or staying and enjoying them with some snacks, you won’t be disappointed. I’ve been frequenting Alewife for the last six years and it’s always a great experience. I especially appreciate the Covid precautions currently in place. The owners and staff really value the safety of their customers and our community.

Loved it so many different beers

I stumbled upon Alewife last night for a couple of beers before the Post Malone concert in Downtown Jax. I thought this was just a small beer shop but once I got inside, I realized it was a lot bigger than it looked from the outside. The ambiance was so inviting, dim lighting, chalkboard menu, and wooden constructed sitting boxes with little cushions to sit on. I absolutely loved this place and I was surpised that it wasnt packed! My boyfriend and I had a couple of their Triple Coconut Early Bird Specials (Imperial Stout) on tap and they were amazing. 10/10 I have to go back to this place to get one of their Florida beer-themed shirts. A must-see if youre in the 5 Points area!

OK, but something is missing. Not a welcoming friendly vibe. Bartender does the job, but not genuinely friendly. Thats important in a place like this.

I want to give this place a 5 because the owner is very friendly shes talkative wants to talk to all her customers Ive been in here three times and I understand the covid-19 requirements but the bartender was just a witch demanded your mask to be over your nose at all times we came in with for guest wanted to try different Brews she demanded we keep our masks on while tasting beer ..then said we had to sit down to taste beers in an attempt to sit at a nearby table she demanded our credit card before we leave the bar just a great place great owner the bartender horrible customer-unfriendly service needs to learn the customer makes her paycheckDefinitely stop in just trying to support our locals

Great place to grab a beer and hang out or buy some beer to take home. They have beers in coolers that they open for you to drink and usually a couple on draft as well.

If you want to try a beer that you just cant find anywhere else, this is the place. I went there for an event that they graciously host and Im not an avid beer drinker. I went to the person behind the bar and stated, I dont like beer, change my mind. They accepted the challenge and walked me through some of the various choices, teaching me a little bit about each of them. Then we found one that had a good flavor and I walked away satisfied. Knowledgable staff, decent prices, good place to hang out and have a beer.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The bar is very cozy and the bartenders are very knowledgeable about their products. I had a great time talking to the bartender about all the local and imports that they had at their taps. It was my first time there and I look forward to coming back again and again. Great place for hanging out with friends and bringing dates. Very close and intimate area.

The selection is second to none. Kelly and Wes are my usual beer experts (bartender/beertender would be an insult to their expertise). They very much provide a sense of community on top of answering whatever question you have. Theyve been nothing but the best for me and whoever I take there, as well as picking the best beer for our tastes! (And Im not even a regular!)

This place is so cool. Beer lovers, if you havent made it here make it a priority. Hard to find beers from all over. I emailed about a limited release Old Rasputin 2015 and she had 2 bottles. They carry stuff you CANT find on the shelf anywhere else. Also, you can pay corkage and drink it there while you play corn hole or whatnot. Opens early for the day drinkers. Great atmosphere and they really just love beer.

Awesome selection of cans and bottles, and they usually have a cool selection of drafts that are hard to find elsewhere. Atmosphere is cozy, there are games and they have a patio. DEFINITELT check it out if youre visiting Florida and are looking to bring beer home!!!

We went to Beer School at Alewife last week and it was AWESOME! We always knew enough about craft beer to get by – pick a beer that we really like or get it close enough most of the time…I repeat – most of the time! The Craft Beer 101 course has taken us to the next level. After taking the course, we can tell you what we like (or not) and why. We are definitely feeling a little more “in the know” since attending and would definitely recommend this fun course to anyone who thinks they might like craft beer, knows they like craft beer or even has no clue if they will like craft beer.

Always a favorite spot to stop. Service is helpful and friendly and I always feel like you get what you want. If they dont have what you want, theyre good at suggesting different options similar to what you are wanting to try.

Great bottle shop in San Marco. They always have hard to find beers on draft and in bottles. They also have beer school at least once a month where theyll go over beers of a specific style or region and go over the evolution of beer and what makes each beer unique. The owner and most of the bartenders are cicerones, which is the beer version of a wine sommelier, so they can give great suggestions.

I always go here when I want to fund beers out of the norm. The Alewife staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A beer nerd paradise!

Kelly and Jamie are awesome people to sit and chat with or answer your inning beer questions. Have more questions? Sit down and hit one of the 200 beers they have in the cooler or those aforementioned sweet taps. Have your pup with you? No problem, bring em in too. My favorite place for a beer any given day.

Have you ever tasted Jalapeno draft beer? Neither had we, until one day we found it here at Alewife. This is a beer place, yes, they have wine, but this is all about fun craft beers, the tap selection is always changing, and they have a lot of beers in bottles for you to choose from, but this is a great location to have a beer, hang out and wait for a movie at Sunray in Riverside. Plenty of games in the facility to keep you busy and you will always see someone you know in this great place.

Hands down best beer spot in Riverside/Avondale/Murray Hill. Great bottle/can selection of American craft beers, and you know the taps are always fresh because they limit it to 6 beers. Prices are fair.

This is such a hidden gem in the city. Alewife has an industrial atomsphere with laidback owners and incredible knownledge. They have non alcoholic beverages if you have friends that want to hang out but may not be looking to drink. There are tons of games and they host local brewerys to run show for a night. Alewife has popcorn to snack on everything from beer and ciders to meads. I highly recommend it!
