Phillip was super polite and extremely quick with the service! I called around noon and had my car towed, checked, and fixed before 4 p.m. The best part is that the prices were the most reasonable that I could find at any auto repair shop. I would definitely recommend Cottman Transmission. I plan to switch to them for all of my servicing needs.

A great old school mentality garage. They wont try to sell you something that you dont need. I came in thinking my CV joints were shot and instead they found something else that a different shop had overlooked and was a quick fix. Honest and very reputable place that I would recommend to anyone.

Cottman Transmissions rebuilt the C4 transmission in my 1968 Mustang and did an excellent job. Ron was completely upfront about what he felt needed to be done and called me to explain any extra things he found. He even took me in the back to show me the broken parts of my transmission and what he was going to do to fix it. Although not inexpensive he is not unreasonable especially for the amount of work and attention to detail I have noticed. He is now working on my 66 Chevy C10 to replace the rear main seal and a transmission overhaul. And again took me and back and showed me exactly the damage that has been done by the previous owner, after that I will bring him my 1969 Mustang.

They are pretty quick and if any mistakes are made they are quick on fixing the errors good customer service and communication thanks for getting my truck back on the road guys!

My initial experience was great but only got 50,000 out of the supposed to be completely rebuilt transmission. When brought back with slipping in second gear only option given was to rebuild again at full price. And before a diagnosis is given you are required to agree for the repair at max cost even though it might be less. When asked for a print out there was none to be given which makes me to believe diagnosis and possible cost was based off a test drive transmission is having different symptoms from my initial rebuild ...

These guys are great! If youre looking for a company that does the job right and does it fast then look no further, Ill start off by saying that I got three other quotes before I called Ron at Cottman and all the other companies that gave me quotes was super quick and acted like they were in a hurry and really didnt have time for me but when I talked with Ron at Cottman and explained to him that I pull a trailer 6 days a week he spent the next 15 min explaining my options from stock to I would say built up ( built to pull trailer) and to be honest his built up price was better than 2 of the other quotes that would have been just stock rebuilds. Ron said he would have it done 2 days he called me the next morning said its pretty much done just waiting on a part from UPS to finish and then called about 1pm same day and said it was done. I wanted to pull my trailer for a week or 2 before I left a review and I have, all I can say is Im super happy pulls better than ever shifts great and fast (Corvette servos) when I leave from a red light Im to 45 real quick pulling a trailer to and it used to take me forever to get to 45. Ive had bad dealings with the majority of repair shops that I had previously in Jacksonville, and naturally I went to Cottman with my guard up. My 03 Explorers transmission had started giving me problems, so I took it to Cottman after researching transmission repairs in Jacksonville.I purchased my explorer used about four years ago, and decided to buy an extended warranty, due to my bad luck with vehicles. I use this vehicle in my small business, and could afford to be without it for long.This entire process was painless. The owner Ron has won my complete confidence. I found him to be a man of his word, which is very important to an old school guy like me with old school values. I dropped the car off Monday at about 11:00, and got a call two days later on Wednesday stating my car was ready. He dealt with the insurance company and worked in my favor by getting me the best possible solution with the repair. I believe the option were, a used transmission or an over haul of the existing one.This process was seamless, and I never had to deal with the insurance company or its agents. The best part of it all was the fact that I got my car back in two days, only had to pay my $100 deductible not a penny more, and Im able to get right back to business. I would recommend that anyone at least give this place a shot, so that they have a chance to earn your business as they did mine.

What can I say about Cottman Transmission and Ron Vinduska the owner? I was in the automotive business for 17 years and Ron and his staff are awesome! I got the right price, right service done the first time and a ride home when I needed it. I would have to say the Ron goes above and beyond to make his customers feel like they did the right thing by coming to his shop. For any of you Mustang fans Ron has been racing them for years and knows the car very well. What would have cost me $1500.00 for a new clutch and throw out bearings down the street Ron did for under a $1000.00. I could not be more pleased with the service and work I received from Ron’s shop. Five days later I had to take one of my other cars to the shop for AC work and Ron again earned my business for the repair. What would again have cost me allot more money at a different shop Ron worked with my budget and got my wife’s car blowing cold again. This is the second vehicle of mine that I have had them do transmission work on. I have not had any problems with my other Tahoe so I figured that was a good testament to their work. Just like the first one, they were able to quickly diagnose the problem and give me a quote.They were very knowledgeable on the problems my Tahoe had, and actually ended up fixing problems the previous auto repair place has messed up on. When it was done - Ron, the owner (who works in the bay instead of sitting in the office) filled me in on what was repaired and I was on my way, in and out in two days. For the second time, I’m real happy with my repair and will use them for other repairs I might need from now on.

Ive been trying to have my car repaired in Beaufort South Carolina for quite some time for a steering vibration which no one in Buford could figure out. These guys looked at my RV for just a few moments and determined that the a-arm Bolt or nuts needed tightening. They did that and it took all the shake out of the front end it was just wonderful and then they didnt want anything for it so I gave them $50 to buy them all lunch.

Had my car towed to Cottman for some major transmission issues. I was given an estimate when it was brought in. Two days later I was told they found issues with the transmission and the motor mounts. I was told to fix the issues with the transmission and motor mounts the bill would be much higher than estimated. However the owner seemed to know what he was doing and we allowed him to make us repairs. When the car was done ( only took a week) he stayed late for us to come pick it up. He was as nice as he could be. The experience was pleasant and fairly easy. I will be taking my car back to his shop this week though because the transmission is starting to have the same issues it was when the transmission went out. I am hoping the shop owner will be as wonderful to work with coming in with warranty work to be done.

This transmission is scam place. Before I brought my car there, I already had my car check at the other mechanic place. They said my car just had low transmission fluid and some other thing, it was $1750 to repair and changed the fluid after the diagnostic test . When I brought to this Coffman transmission to have second opinion, you know what they did to my car, they didn’t do diagnostic test. they took down the transmission of my car and disassembled the transmission and told me that the transmission was cooked inside. I asked to assemble them back but they Said I had to pay if they put them back. My transmission was not broken or anything, it was low transmission low that was it. I tried to get second opinion but ended up paid 3.5k to replace the transmission from junk yard. Please don’t ever come to this place. These people stole the logo of my car and I had to come back and ask to get it back.

Awesome guys i brought my car in for what i thought was going to be a major repair but turned out to be minor and they fixed it for FREE they would not take any money i will be calling them again next time i have a issue.

Friendly, work was great and fast. The only thing I would suggest is try to get a firm price, at a minimum get the maximum amount you will have to pay. I was about 2,000 over the written estimate, but with the knowledge it could be more, but I was not ready for that much more.

I was in a bind and had vehicle towed here. I was given a very high quote ($560) for simply replacing one motor mount on a Honda. I paid because I needed my vehicle back fast, but I wont be back, I felt taken advantage of because the car wasnt drive-able to shop around. They did the job the same day, just that prices are out of line.

I recently had to have my transmission repaired due to a leak in the transmission cooler. This lead to radiator fluid becoming mixed with transmission fluid and causing major complications and ultimately the failure of the transmission.After calling and getting three different quotes for the work and all of them being in the same price range, I went with Cottman’s as I have been there before. They do great work, my truck finished earlier than estimated, and I was kept informed and shown what exactly had transpired causing the failure. Also a second appointment was scheduled at their request so they could do a once over after the truck had been driven for a week. I appreciate the fact they did a follow up and made sure everything was working as it should.All in all I would go back to them for any transmission work, also I will and have recommended this shop to others.

The A/C blower motor on my Jeep Wrangler stopped working...in Florida...in July. I took it to Cottman Transmission on Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville. I was quoted close to $600 for the repair, which included a couple of hundred in parts and 3.5 hours of labor. I had done some research, and knew that the blower motor was right below the glove box on the passenger side. But when I made this observation, I was told that the technician looked but didnt see it there. I did a little more research. Then I went to AutoZone and bought the blower motor for just over $100, and a friend installed it for me in about 45 minutes. DONT GO HERE!!!7/26/2017 Update - Reply to Owner Response: Clearly I was right not to trust you, because it is very apparent that you tried to take advantage of me!! Ladies, DONT GO HERE!! My repair took less than an hour, yet they quoted me 3.5 hours and lied about the location of the part to be replaced!!!

I had taken my car to a shop on beaver street they told me I needed a transfer case..so I wanted a second opinion I took my car to Nissan since theyre the ones that made my car they told me my transmission was bad ..so Im thinking something not right about the answers I was getting ..so off to Cottman I went I ask whos Ron he said thats me I told him read reviews before I came..lol but anyway I left my car Im thinking how much is this going to cost..he called and loosen screws that need to be tightened up and that was the problem..no charge ..thank you so much mr Ron for your service and honesty..birdie Robinson

My husband bought a truck and transmission went out and took it back to the place he bought it not once but four times. Well this time is the fifth time it went out so instead of taken it back i decided to go else where and googled transmission one of them was cottman so i decied to call and see bout them. i called and Ron is the guy i talked to he was very helpful and understanding. told him bout what was going on with the truck and he was exactly sure he knew what was wrong with it so we had to have it rebuilt again. I would recommend cottman to anyone that needs transmission work.

Would rate 0 stars if possible. DISHONEST SHOP. Said estimate would be free but when dad decided to not get van repaired, shop wrote $900 for estimate after papers where already signed. Shop did not provide copy of estimate. Dishonest shop, do not go here.Update: Shop manager eventually fixed transmission at a decent price as opposed to $900. Just be wary and always ask for a copy of estimate if going to this shop.
