I loved Mel so much! She was absolutely gentle on my hair and gave so much education about taking care of your hair. I loved how my hair came out. I will definitely be back to see Ms. Mel :)

Just moved here from Michigan to Irving Texas and found this hair salon. Melva was my hair stylist and she was professional, down to earth and knowledgeable about hair. She did an Amazing job on my hair, it looked healthy and beautiful when she was finished. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went in asking for a cut, protein treatment, and color. Melva told me I could not have a color because my hair had previously been damaged BEFORE she even looked at my hair. She went on about how she was a professional and pretty much.... what she said goes. Even after advising that the damaged hair had been cut off and all that was left was healthy Natural hair, she stated that she wouldnt dye it and when she did it would be a Semi-permanent. I asked her about hair stains (Manic Panic/Arctic Fox) That just cover the gray. I had used them in the past and wanted to know if that was more feasible than a Semi-permanent. She looked upset that I questioned her about hair stains.She then took me to the sink to wash my hair and DUG HER NAILS into my head. It left sores in my head that I am still trying to heal. She then started putting something in my hair that I thought was the protein treatment, that I later found out was HAIR COLOR. She did not me the color that she put in my hair she just dump it in and combed it through. She did not separate the hair, she did not use a dye brush, she dumped it in and raked it though my hair with a comb.I had advised her that I no longer wanted to be natural and she proceeded to show me a young lady that was natural and how she was doing her hair. She told me that she will just train my hair and it can take up to 3 months. It was like what I wanted with MY hair did not matter to her. To top it all off, the color she added to my hair ran all over my scalp and hair line. She put a reddish purple in the back and BLUE across the front. I asked for a specific cut and even brought in pictures of what I wanted. She trimmed my ends and flat ironed my hair. She did not cut my hair into the style.I have since had to remove the color she put in my hair since this was the only way to get the blue off of my scalp. Luckily my hair is very strong so there is no damage except for the sores in my scalp where she dug her nails into it. DO NOT GO HERE!!! She will not listen yo what you want, you will leave feeling violated like I did. This was supposed to be a Birthday present to myself. It turned into an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!

Since visiting the first time, I went back and the person who did my hair was no longer there. Ms. Marva and her staff made my experience a wonderful one, and I received excellent service. I am upgrading my rating to 4 stars.Former review:I took my girls to get crochet installs and it went well. I would give the salon about 4 stars for that visit.On the second visit, about a month later, I took my oldest daughter for a visit. We arrived about 30 minutes early, just because I was in the area. I asked you he stylist if we were still on time to start, she nice she was working on another client. She stated that she thought it would be a bit later than our planned start time. I asked if it made sense to leave then return later. She thought that the delay would not be significant enough for us to leave. So we waited. And waited. Eventually we left gracefully, although that was hard to do. I waisted much time and energy. My daughter was disappointed that she could not get the hairstyle we wanted. The hairstylist was not apologetic she just stated that she had no idea how long the color would process on her current clients hair. Oh thanks - I thought to myself. The owner seemed to be out of the loop and in the end seemed interested in trying to remedy the situation, so she offered me a shampoo sample. I think the people here have good hair styling skills, however, time management is something I hey need to work on. I will no longer visit, as a result of my latest experience there. I would give the salon half a star for the owners effort, for that visit.

I was long over due for a fresh cut, my ends were dead and I needed something to boost finally, Im almost 3 months postpartum and I hadnt had my hair trimmed or cut since New Years Eve 😱. I have a hard time trusting hair stylists because iv had a hand full of terrible cuts but Mel took care of me! Im so beyond happy with this cut and Style, my hair feels amazing and it gave me a little spunk back. Thank you! I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a trust worthy and very experienced hair stylists you will leave happy.

Im a regular customer for the past 3+year. First and foremost Melva has gotten my hair the healthiest its ever ever been! Im impressed with the customer service Ive received but Im most impressed at the sew in she does on my weave. People are shocked when I explain that my hair is a weave it is the most natural weave I have ever had! I drive over an hour to come to Melva and its worth it every time. I dont write reviews but people need to know that something special is more than just a name! A MUST TRY!!!!!!!!!

Melva and her team run an amazing styling salon! She takes care of my hair needs as well as my aunt, grandmother, and child. You receive luxury service in a professional comfortable environment! Melva and her team of ladies take great pride in growing your hair, and meeting all your hair needs. They are all completely honest about what you need and what will look best on you. I just love this salon. My hair was so damaged and now when I look at it, Im just amazed. It is so healthy. Wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere.

I came in without an appointment. I was planning to spend at least 1 hour just waiting. I met Mel and she kept me in the loop of my wait time and gave me the option to stay or leave. I stayed. I waiting about 30 minutes total. She cut my hair and washed and styled it exactly how I wanted it. She was very thorough and told me everything that she was doing to my hair. I will definitely be making this my hair home. I will be bring my daughter as well.
