I wanted to try out this restaurant because I saw them on Worth it! I never had roast beef before so I wanted to check it out for myself. It does have a small parking lot but I took transportation, you can take the Metro 28 from DTLA. Customer service is excellent and nicely took my order. I had the roast beef with cheese and it was delicious. It was juicy and sweet and of course the curly fries were hot and had that crunchiness. Ill definitely come back to try other food items.
Forget Arby’s. Do yourself a favor and never eat there again, but instead always go to Top Round. Make sure to get a version of the beef sandwich with horseradish as it’s just spectacular! They’ve got outdoor and indoor seating with the outdoor seating available during the pandemic so you don’t have to eat in your car. Food comes up fairly quickly even though it’s made to order and the milkshakes are good too although I did 4 stars because I don’t think the ice cream in the milkshake is custard as claimed and the sandwiches are a bit on the small side for the price charged. Otherwise excellent experience and we will be back many times!
Ive been to Top Round out in Dallas so I thought Id swing by here to grab something quick for the kid. Got tater tots and a small order of chicken strips at the attached Red Robin Chicken. Not sure if this counts as Top Round technically but they are in the same building so this is what you get. The chicken wasnt too great and tots were tots. Ice cream is great though. Id come here just for their ice cream.
The sandwich and tater tots was excellent. My daughter had the grilled cheese and cheesy curly fries.
Walked to a park to eat so about 10ish minute walk. I got the Horse and Hole which I really enjoyed! Roast beef was excellent and warning, only get it if you like horseradish cause that was a strong and dominant flavor! Hubs got the Buffalo Chicken which was not too bad but unfortunately, very soggy by the time we were able to eat it.For sides, we got tater tots (delicious!) and Dirty Fries (meh, shouldve gotten the curly).Loved their ice creams! We got Cookies & Cream Concrete and a Strawberry Shake - both were so yummy!Pricey for what it is, but quite work the try!
I am sooooooo glad this place is far away from where I live. This place is dangerous in the upmost respectof a burger joint. I ate a Top Round Sandwich Shop @ about 1:00 and Im still full and its 4:30 pm. You have to try this place once!
I have to say, I’m kind of disappointed with my visit. I got a vanilla malt shake and an OG Roast Beef and another OG with horseradish cream. The shake was small and lacked enough malt flavor. The OG on the menu is a bit dry without much flavor. The one with horseradish cream was a bit better, but neither really were that satisfying. Don’t think I need to stop here again.
My favorite place for the greatest roast beef ever... an elevated Arby’s and the meat is a real roast that is sliced thin. Just like homemade the horse in hole is our current favorite with a horsey sauce which is like a mayonnaise with horseradish and the mushrooms just takes it up a notch. I have always noticed how kind and nice all the employees are . The pastrami burger is also beyond delicious! Prices are great because they give you quality and a lot of it.
Quite place and very delicious fresh pastrami burger. Rear vegetable in it and very lean taste meats. Great sauces...
I saw this place from a BuzzFeed video. After seeing what Top Round has to offer online, I just had to make the trip to see for myself. Im a fan of Arbys Beef and Cheddar, but oh man Top Rounds version blows it out of the water (in this case au jus). The beef flavor with the cheese is more distinct and the curly fries with whiz was tasty. I even topped it off with a banana pie concrete for dessert. Would come back again to try the other items. Thoroughly impressed in my opinion.
Fast food roast beef sandwiches and frozen custard. Came here for dinner before catching a show at the El Rey with the sis around 8:30, and there was still a short line. There’s outdoor and indoor seating, and you can order all your food either inside or outside (ignore the sign that says to only order fries and sandwiches that’s above the outside window). Parking is available in their private lot, but it’s small and spaces are pretty tight. The food was tasty, albeit smaller than expected. The beef and cheese sandwich was filling, and I especially enjoyed the spongey buns. The beef was tender enough, and I don’t want to know what’s in the cheese whiz, but it was good. The dirty fries came in a curly cut, and had sweet, caramelized onions, beef chunks, and gravy on top. We got a concrete to top off the meal, and the food came within 5 minutes. They have water cups and a fountain drink dispenser inside. For your knowledge, a concrete has all the ingredients mixed in while the sundae only has them in top. They have standard combinations or you can mix your own, up to 4. Unfortunately they were out of hot fudge and don’t have a coffee flavor, but it was still good. It wasn’t as thick as I thought it would be, but there’s no emulsifiers or preservatives so it does taste homemade. The brownies we added in were really chewy and sweet, and we also tossed in graham crackers and Oreos into a vanilla concrete. Didn’t see any bathrooms, there’s no free WiFi, they do take credit card, and you can order to-go or eat-in and they’ll call your name on the intercom system.
Dont miss this place if your in the area. Good, fresh sandwich. Tender, tasty, and they have Atomic Horseradish. Good parking. Clean facility, even the parking lot was clean.
We had noticed that Top Round had added chicken (as well as a few other items) to its menu. We were curious about the chicken and also nervous that these new items would come at the cost of their staple sandwiches. We were thrilled that the Roast beef sandwiches were as good as ever and that the new chicken was pretty good. We look forward to returning to check out more of the new sauces too.
Great roast beef and chicken sandwiches. The fries are really tasty too. Friendly service too.
Got some of the best roast beef I’ve had for a very good price. Also tried their pistachio shake, which was Gas! A great LA eatery
Always delicious... This time I tried the milkshake, also 👍 great.
Great sandwiches and tots. Hundreds of soda flavors. Ive been here plenty of times and the service is always great.
Great Roast Beef Sandwich... Better than that other place.. You Know.. It starts with an A....
Curly Fries were AWESOME!BEEF and CHEESE WIZZ...asked them to add mustard and regular dill pickles.... PERFECTION!Very quick ...Clean Patio area.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Worth the drive as we came from Arcadia. Outstanding roast beef! Tender and juicy!! The tots and fries are delicious. Probably some of the best Ive had. Their cheese whiz is thee best, hands down! And their custard concrete?! A perfect ending to a perfect meal!
Very flavorful just wish the added more meat for the price
Took over 30 mins for my food when I called it in and the chicken Cali was bland. No flavor whatsoever. First and last time here. 👎🏽👎🏽
Good Arbys type sandwiches, shakes and concretes, served by friendly, efficient employees who keep dining areas clean.
This place should b shut down. Never go again. Under cooked food. Ecoli waiting 2 happen
Way better then Arbys. This place has great quality roast beef
Pastrami burger made me wonder why I passed this place and never stopped till now. I was missing out. I love that you get real greens like arugala and kale too. Nice touch and very tasty.
Gotta try if you havent been yet!... great choices and unique items including burger with cheese wiz, and iconic east-coast Beef on Weck sandwich (kummelweck roll). Steamship round style roast beef cooked and carved on site, tasty an juicy.Great fries, including dirty fries, cheese-wiz fries, and tator-tots.Custard ice cream and delicious shakes, All done in a retro-modern Jetsons-style design and graphics. I love this place and am getting hungry writing this long-deserved review.
Best roast beef sandwich. Was traveling for a while the staff were great. The food was top notch.
I get the OG roast beef sandwich, every single time. I add provolone cheese & ask for a lil side of au jus on the side & all together, its a banging combination that hits the spot every time I go. Sometimes I add a pistachio milkshake for later, also amazing.
I had the Horse and Hole and Black n Blue. Each different but really delicious tasting high quality roast beef sandwiches. Some of the best around. Had the Kale slaw, too. Very tasty little salad. Definitely will come back for more. Drove past here so many times in the past 6 years and never stopped. So glad I thought of it tonight.
The food is good I do recommend the BBQ sandwich is really good especially with those fried pickles inside
I remember when this used to be Lee’s donuts back in the day 🙌🏼
Love top round! Excited to try their big salad with fried chicken! Their tater tots and horse and hole beef sandwich are my go tos. Custard shakes are a bonus!
Forgot my sandwich recharged me cuz I guess they didnt charge me though it would be like Arbys but better I was mistaken
Cheap food and the feeling at this place is great. I wish there were more places like this around town. Prices that wont break you. Food is similar to a cafe in Portland I loved.
My order didnt turn out exactly right but I will say they took the time to make it right and refund my money
One of my fav spots for tasty cheap food. Visited Sat afternoon. The staff was very helpful and observant. Bring your appetite because portions are filling. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I liked.
Old school roast beef, good quality, good service. Every so often you have to kick the healthy eating habit.
Pastrami burger and Kale Salad 👍👍
Beef and Cheese sandwich was delicious. I recommend the curly fries as well. They have a nice selection of items with reasonable prices.
Their sauces were amazing. The sliced roast beef sandwiches are definitely the go to.
Have driven by many times, finally decided to stop tonight.BBQ sandwich was tasty. Right amount of sauce. Very good.Cuban sandwich was also good. Even a little too much mustard wasnt a big deal.Tater tots were incredible. Crisp and prefect.
The worst, charge for any and everything, I was a big fan not any more
I didnt like the roast beef probably because they steam the meat but I prefer grilled meat it tastes much better that way. The chocolate malt was good though
I would give a 5 star review because it’s good Arby’s-ish sandwiches and now chicken strips.... can’t wait to try btw.... but I’m giving a 4* because how can you guys start charging $1 for Round Sauce and that is the signature house sauce for anything to really taste good lol... just saying. $1 isn’t much, but a dry sandwich sucks... I would let people know you don’t add any sauces and you only give 2 packets of ketchup for a nice sized amount of fries. Again... goods great! ;-)
This is absolutely the best taco truck. This taco truck started my love affair with tacos ! While they were absent, I went around and tried several Taco stands and taco trucks.Nothing compares the quality of food is consistent and superior. The area has sprouted several competitors that are careless with the preparation of the tacos and chiles. not these wonderful people. All the family is fantastic they will literally go out of their way to please you. If you are in the area out at a bar or just crave a delicious taco. Or a great quesadilla Make it a point to stop by. You will not be disappointed.
If Youre Expecting Arbys or even Arbys prices dont come here. This is really good food with real roast beef thats not pressed or processed. Its not an expensive with tip a roast beef sandwich with mushrooms, curly fries and a soda ended up costing close to $18. But Ive got to say it was worth every penny. They have vegetarian options and salad options and its a fun atmosphere because youre sitting on one of the major intersections of Los Angeles and its great to sit in there indoor or outdoor area. I highly recommend it.
Frys were good, but the cheese burger and roast beef burger were not great just ok. Kind of expensive ( Jan. 2021) two burgers, two frys two drinks were over $30.
I dunno. I am sitting here with a tummy ache after eating at this place. After seeing it on Buzzfeeds Worth It, my boyfirend and I took a hop in the car to go check it out. I kid you not, I debated for an hour to figure out if I wanted to write this review. But here it goes:I ordered the Dirty Fries, Black and Blue Sandwich, and the basic Chicken Sandwich. For the fries, just BLAND. The gravy tasted off to me. Like whatever container they put it in, maybe they didnt rinse out all the soap or something. I got the busted up broken ends of the fries. From the Buzzfeeds video, you could have sworn you were getting a mound of thick curly fries oozing with meat and gravy. Nope. I wish i took a picture. I literally had to pull out the salt shaker. The Black & Blue burger, had NO BLUE! I mean it was a tiny bit of meat, some chunky caramelized onions, and it was BLAND. No salt, nothing. Once again the taste was off. Like I got the caramelized onions that has been sitting on the back of the grill for a couple of hours and all the burnt scrapings got mixed in and gave them a burnt taste. And to the chicken. Now let me tell you, I make a mean fried chicken. But this chicken, had NO FLAVOR! I dont know if salt is kryptonite here, but the flour had no seasoning, the chicken had no seasoning and I had black burnt crispy pieces from the fryer all stuck up in the breading of the chicken. For $7, you seriously could have went right up the street to KFC and got a $1 chicken slider, and it would have had more seasoning.I never want to give one of these reviews for any kind of place, but my stomach is hurting so bad right now, but i just wanted to give my honest opinion, and this place is just way TOO hyped up. I might have to go buy them some salt to put out on the tables.
Tried new joint on La Brea en route to Beverly Hills. I knew it was going to be bouge little snacks at event referred to as horderves so I stopped at Top Round to top er off before I arrived. Great find. Arbys type Roast Beef but with HEART like a Mom n Pop type place. Menu is great food was amazing I had chik tenders n pastrami burger. Washed it down with a real chocolate ice cream shake. INCREDIBLE!!! Took home a banana pie on concrete. U can thank me later
The roast beef was cooked perfectly and the french fries were delicious.
The quality is apparent in the roast beef of top round. Very good fast food, not too heavy, and reasonably priced.
Food is great. Will go back
Top Round sells one of the most delicious yet simple burgers in all of LA.
Always the best Roast beef ever. We discovered this place a year after living here and cant get enough. We keep going back for more.
This place is open late and great for a quick bite. I came here around 10pm on a Thursday night and there was lots of parking. Definitely has that 50s drive in vibe. The menu is posted outside on the wall where the outside covered seating is. They also have paper menus inside. The seating inside is limited, but the tables are clean and spaced well. They have those amazing Coca Cola machines that have all the come products and you can create your own drink! Im always amazed by these! The sandwiches are delicious, they have curly fries that are delicious as well and you can add cheese or chili cheese. Theres a seasoning at the tables inside that you can add to the curly fries and it is for purchase. My experience was great here and theyre open late, so swing by if you are hungry for something late night. They have desserts too. Ice cream, shakes and other sweet cold treats
Loved the o.g roast beef sandwich get the cheese whiz on the side 🤤
Rarely is the occasion that I buy something in bite into it and wish that I could just keep doing it over and over again if you try anything please try the pastrami burger here to Tinder Moy’s meat covered over the beef patty mixed in with the vegetable greens wonderful sauce is delicious but make it impossible for me to stop eating this!!So many great things to try I’m gonna have to come back and try some of the shakes and of course if you’re into Sundays they have the “Elvis Sunday “Of course there’s so many things to try but give yourself about 20 minutes to take everything in this is chef driven fast food and that means things take time and trust me the flavor will not disappoint.Top Round is TOP TOWN With great friendly service in a wonderful location and parking… Why Aren’t you here already?Chef driven fast food, well then park your appetite here!
Best roast beef sandwiches this side of the Mississippi.
Yummm...but super pricey for what you get. For reference -- this place is an edible non-ADD grown-up version of Arbys.
Cheap food, mmm, quality stuff. Very filling. The bill was fair for the quality of the food. Ambience reminds me of San Diegos scene.
Ok so top round is the spot to go to if you want the most mouth watering meats, either on a sandwich or on their fries. Total perfection as far as flavor goes.. also their frozen custard ice cream is amazing, and tons of toppings to go with it. Any time I find myself in the area I have to stop by
Oh my God this place is so good!!!!
This spot is my preferred one. I go to many restaurants but to this place I keep coming back again and again. The crew is very receptive and the cuisine they serve is so good. I am always happy to have a good dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Been wanting to come for so long! Very worth it
Top Round serves delicious quality food at really high prices. A black and blue sandwich with a side of fries and a vanilla shake ended up costing me around $18 plus tip $23. But you get what you pay for with succulent cuts of roast beef and deliciously crisp beef tallow fries. The classic vanilla shake is made to order by hand and taste fresh.
This place is nasty. Overpriced and overrated
Has a cool retro vibe to the place. You order at the walkup window outside (if you head right into the restaurant they’ll take your order at the counter also) and pickup inside. The employees a few times brought the orders out to the already seated customers, which was really nice. Friendly staff, food made fresh to order. Service was quick. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I’ll definitely be back!
Love those sticky Korean wings. The pizza is delicious too. They were kind enough to leave off a couple items so it was appropriate for my vegetarian husbands palate.
Sandwiches are great, avoid the chicken fingers.
Top round sauce / horseradish sauce / BBQ sauce.... thicc af fam
Some of the best roast beef youll have. Fast food, but not fast food quality. Its all good, swaggy, and reasonably priced.
This place obviously knows how to serve their clients. Consistently with a very welcoming mindset. The food is conveniently priced, always fresh and clean.
