Family running this store is always friendly and I enjoy stopping in there each time we go to Alton Square. Donuts at 1130am were fresh and melt in your mouth. I got the French curlers and an apple fritter. Very good.

This shop has a great selection of donuts (and the donuts are delicious) and friendly staff. What more could you ask from a 24 hour donut shop? The rewards program is a big plus too.

Been using coupons from the Internet for years. Martha today refused to take my coupon from my phone. Apparently they want a paper copy and are against saving the environment. Will never come here again. Go to Mags Donut... the donuts are way better, as is the service.

Didn’t have a great experience here. The morning worker was not intelligently responding to me when I asked her questions. I know this place gets a lot of high ratings, but that was my experience here. I won’t be coming back.

Doughnuts are good but they really need to state the prices of a dozen doughnuts and a half dozen doughnuts i always usually pay 16$ with little drinks included and i go last night i pay 20$ for a dozen doughnuts and a milk i was very upset their prices are already high as it is and this just made me really upset and her excuse was some doughnuts are more expensive then others and i get the same doughnuts everytime i dont get the fancy doughnuts I normally get the normal ones that are like a dollar.

If you go between the hours of 7pm-11:30pm you will get stale donuts GUARANTEED.They should throw out the days donuts by 4/5pm it is absolutely ridiculous.

This has been the only place I go for donuts for the last 9 years! Love the variety of donuts options and of course the various ham and cheese, tutkey and cheese with jalapenos and without croissants too! Always friendly service. If you are looking for gelreat donuts, look no further!

The man running it at 11:45pm was a complete jerk. Nowhere does it say Only donuts after...?? Asked about a bagel and he started screaming and said Nothing but donuts and coffee at this hour. It is a 24 hour donut/sandwich shop. I asked him to stop yelling but he continued. I would never go to his business again. Oh, and he handed my husband change because I refused to pay him and he said, Good bye. Go now. Hideous man.

A place where you can get the fluffiest donuts EVER. I have tried many many donuts shops in & around Irvine, no one can beat Donut Star. Plus they have the most amazing bagel sandwiches. Everything is priced reasonably too. I love this place ❤️

As far as donuts go they are good but not really a must go place. The service was great and the server was very kind. The prices are ok and it is open for 24 hours and you can also get some coffee or other drinks.

Been coming to this Donut Star for quite awhile now and theyve always had consistent quality. The donuts arent greasy or oily like they can get at some donut places. Polite staff and a good variety of donuts. Oh, and theyre open 24/7 too.

The donuts were fluffy and tasted great, and the worker at the time was friendly and gave us recommendations about his favorites. Im only giving 4/5 stars because of some flies inside that made it rather annoying to enjoy my donut.

I got grilled vegie and California bagels. The bell pepper was not so fresh on vegie panini and California bagel was not so delicious comparing to Shirleys bagel.

Went here at 12 am because it sounded cool. The selection was real small at the time the fella helping me was rude didnt greet me or talk aside from how much i owed and the donut sucked i threw it into the bushes outside

They have great service . The donuts, bagels and sandwiches are freshly made. The coffee is always hot and good. Plenty of parking outside.

I love this place. Head here about twice a week for donuts around 9 pm. Always fresh. Whole bunch of different types of donuts.

Went at around 11pm, no one else ordering. I had never been and I was excited because of all the great reviews. On first visits I tell the employee I have never been and 99% of the time get a friendly suggestion or conversation. I felt rushed even though I was the only one there, and I hate feeling as though Im a hindrance. Wont be going back at night, may try again during the day.

Theres a pair of outlets in one corner of the store - would recommend bringing an extension cable or a splitter, because otherwise you may find yourself competing with IVC or UCI students trying to charge their devices.Few things to note: Theres a $2 minimum if youre using card. Their bagel/croissant/panini sandwiches are only available from 7AM to 2PM daily. Theyll keep on selling bagels until theyre out, though.Updated: 12/08/15 for sandwich hours.

First of all I was never greeted, then I waited patiently while a person working here was helping the customer who was before me, after the employee finished helping the other customer he didn’t say anything and started grabbing donuts for what I guessed was a phone order but after he finished he just went to the back of the store. After that the other guy working there only said “5 minutes” while I looked at him confused to what he clarified that it will take him 5 minutes for him to finish something pointing at the sandwiches. I just walked out, I do not understand why the other person working there couldn’t help us or say anything before serving himself. They managed the situation very poorly with zero customer service.

I just wondering to let u know that while I set with my three kids in a shop donut star 5365-c Alton plaza I got kind of desrespectful attitude by the staff how worked on that place one of staff start cleaning the shop while we are sit on our table usually I don’t care about that but with kids specialy a new baby born we should care coz that dust and cleanining could left a bad effected I asked her to stop she said I cannot and pointed to her coworker I asked the second lady she taked to her but she don’t responded then I left the place with my kids looking for person in charge or manger in this plaza but I couldn’t find any ??? Staff not friendly at all I didn’t visit that shop again I faced today A bad Costmer service at all

You are what you say you are a Donut Star! I have been looking for a donut shop for a long time. I think my favorite one is still in Riverside. Making donuts is a lost art. Sure there are a lot of donut chains and like In N Out they are all overhyped. I really loved donuts but Krispy Kreme and their double glazed doesnt work. I want a donut that is light and airy sweet but not chunky like it was made out of bread dough. It shouldnt be greasy like it was made in French fry oil. As you can tell I am a donut snob. I should be eating donuts but when I do it should be just right.Unfortunately, Donut Star falls into that category I try to avoid. The donuts taste like bread dough with frosting. The presentation is great but the taste is blah. The thing that saves this place for me is the non donut items. I found myself here a few times after a doctor appointment and I was killing time before work. I know thats funny eating a donut after going to the doctors. I went to McDonalds a few times for the breakfast and maybe I am getting old but its disgusting. I dont eat fast food often and when you go back to McDonalds the salty and sugar meals make you want to blow up from the front and back. Good thing I found Donut star and the breakfast croissant. Not the best but it will do. Everything on the menu looks good but I like the breakfast croissant with egg and ham. Pair that with a coffee and a chocolate donut and you are set! I always get a donut haha. I cant help it.I only recommend Donut star if you are in a hurry and dont have many options. Also if you want a quick breakfast stop come here because it is good and you can support a local business. I think the owner is a doctor because I saw her business cards but I could be wrong. Man I gotta hurry and start a business and stop working for the man. I want to be the man. Anyways I will go back for now I will also be on the lookout for new donut joints with regular donuts and not fancy creations.
