My battery in my remote key was dead and my car wouldnt start, of course. I called AAA and had my car towed to Ray Skillman. When I walked in, I passed 2 service stations and at the 3rd one, a very nice girl asked if she could help me. Amy was her name. Other than that I was completely ignored and it was obvious that the men didnt want to help me. Amy took care of my paper work and I went to the lobby to wait TWO HOURS for a battery to be installed into my remote key. Although Amy was helpful and courteous I was certainly put off by the response from the other service technicians Would I bring my car back to Ray S. for future service... Id think a second time..or third time

The Finance Manager that worked with us (Steve Faulkner) was also great to work with. He found us the best rate and was very thorough in explaining what we were signing. Prompt service. Dropped off in evening and by 8:00 am I was told the problem and that parts were available and my car would be ready that day and best of all was the extended warranty we purchased at the time we bought the car. They mark up all of their vehicles $5000. This is above sticker price. They don’t tell you about it until you agree to buy the vehicle. They push the gap/ car warranty hard. They are misleading about the price of that as well. This place has gone down hill. I’ve purchased several vehicles from them in the past. I won’t make that mistake again. Places like this are why many people hate buying vehicles.

I was told back in 2018 that we have an oil consumption issue and they were wanting me to do an oil consumption test costing me $1000 to do. I wasnt willing to pay $1000 for the dealership to check oil consumption even though it was clearly an issue that I was loosing oil through the exhaust. I recently had the same issue come back but this time I had to replace the upper section of my engine being the piston / piston rings/ and timing chain. I was told when I called that it was under warranty. After I got the vehicle to the shop and it had been diagnosed I was told it wasnt under warrant and the cost would be $4100. I was very frustrated that I was misled and felt trapped to continue the work since I would have to pay to get it towed and pay for the diagnosis. The vehicle had roughly 70,000 miles on it, a fairly new engine, and I shouldnt be paying for an engine rebuild at this point. The vehicle is a 2014 GMC terrain SLT2 with a 2.4l engine. Ive done regular maintenance on the vehicle. After all this I would not recommend a GM engine and would strive to make sure everyone I know doesnt get a GM vehicle. I was looking to be in the market in the next 2 years for a vehicle and I now know what to not look for.

Very disappointed in their service department. We called to make an appointment and was told to bring it right in. First, Jim told us it would be looked at either Wednesday or Thursday. After not hearing from anyone, I called Friday and assured I was next in line so we should know something Monday. Called Monday after still not hearing anything and told again next in line for Tuesday. I decided to just pick up the vehicle and go somewhere else. They didnt do anything all that time. They could have at least fixed the recall issue. I do understand they are short staffed but not being honest on when the vehicle would be looked at is concerning. Just need to be honest.

Due for an oil change, nail in rear tire, dash error information on which tire was low air on driver side and would not start although heard a clicking sound were all the issues I brought my 2016 Acadia in for. Amy always does a great job, she is pleasant to talk to, knowledgeable and professional. She listened and confirmed all issues would be addressed. She called later in the day to tell me they were still working on my vehicle and would call the next day with more info. Got my call the next day with what all was found and what needed to be done, 2 tires with issues to be replaced and covered by my warranty. The tread on the other 2 was close to needing replaced so agreed to replace. Battery was bad, replaced. Oil changed and an alignment done due to new tires. Picked up the next day and cost was almost 300.00 less the original quote so I was very pleased. Drives great and ready for another 32,000 miles!!

My experience with my service tech (Jim Worden) was excellent! He is extremely detailed with his communication (Text, Phone, and in person). I feel he is always trying to help me keep my vehicle in great driving shape. I would consider Jim a maintenance whisper when it comes to cars. My request is that you dont lose him to another dealership because I will follow him to where ever he goes.

Tried to change the price of my truck after agreeing to a price over email and phone. Only agreed to honor their word after we were ready to leave without completing a purchase. And now they call me frequently to “offer me a great deal” despite the fact that I live in another state. I guess it’s typical car dealer behavior, but I’ve been lucky to have a few other dealers not act this way.

Thank you Ki Calaway and the service department at Ray Skillman GMC!!! On Monday we were driving north on Interstate 65 heading home from a family vacation in Tennessee when the dash lit up with alerts in my GMC Acadia, I found Ray Skillman GMC on my phone and we took the next exit, I called the service department to let them know of our predicament and Ki did not hesitate, he told us to head their way and they would squeeze us in! And that he did, a couple of hours later we were back on the road with a new alternator and the piece of mind we would make it home safely. Thank you again Ki, you were our super hero that day!

Just like in the past, my vehicle was done on time and all concerns were corrected, and now my vehicle runs straight down the road due to the alignment done and there were no surprises on the costs. I was greeted shortly after my arrival! Very friendly staff, they listened to my issues that needed to be taken care of and was very receptive to getting them taken care of! It didnt take long and my vehicle was ready, everything was done as requested and vehicle was washed! Nice perk! They fix my GMC Acadia that we bought from GO INDY! I was so mad i bought a junk from there. We usually buy cars here and never had problems. I always go to Rayskillman from buying cars to changing oils (maintenance)! This is the first time they fix car for us and they did a great job. They infact give us a reasonable price for the repair! I wrote an email to my service advisor, Jim Worden, regarding notice to me from OnStar and Skillman that it was time for an oil change. Due to COVID, Id driven only 1,000 miles in the past year and my gauge showed an oil life of 69%. I asked Jim why I needed an oil change under these conditions. He advised the answer. He scheduled me in for service the following day, including increasing the tire pressure which was low. As usual, the service was performed promptly and met my full satisfaction. Kudos all around.

5/19/2021 I was notified [by my car and also an email] that it was time for an oil change and other servicing for my Buick Encore--I called yesterday afternoon to make an appointment--phone was answered promptly [no interminable waiting that seems to be standard procedure w many businesses today]--Skillman receptionist and service agent were so polite and I was able to go right in--I was greeted upon arrival by your friendly staff--spent less than an hour in your clean, comfortable waiting lounge and my car was set and ready to go--business was steady, but I wasnt rushed, questions answered by very capable service staff--altogether a positive experience and the atmosphere was one of people enjoying their work. Maintaining our vehicles and taking them in for servicing was always done by my late husband, so Im new to this--very pleasantly surprised to find it can be easily done and am happy that I chose Ray Skillman for my new car purchase and continued servicing. Normally, someone will come to the waiting area and let me know its ready and show me to the payment checkout area. For some reason this time they didnt. I went out myself to pick up my car. I had already been there over an hour and was ready to go asap. Just felt this was an indication that my time wasnt important and I could just sit and wait some more. Who cares!?

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Taylor and Leah at Ray Skillman GMC. In 25+ years of buying vehicles, it was the single best buying experience. We were not planning to buy a vehicle but to just test drive because it was our first day looking for a truck. However, Taylor was able to find all of the vehicles on our list from the many Ray Skillman lots nearby. She’s only been in her position six months but was amazing! That young lady has a bright future ahead of her. You could tell that she studies vehicles. She pointed out features we would have missed. She also did not pressure us at all. There were a couple of trucks on our list we knew instantly we didn’t want when we got inside. She didn’t push us when we said we didn’t want to drive them. Once we fell for a Sierra Denali, she and her manager Leah (who has worked in the peace corp!) worked with us and came up with a good offer including our trade in. Kia service department was extremely professional, courteous and punctual. I had a slight dilemma with time to be able to get to work and they did exactly what they said they would do and I was able to get out the door and arrive at the job in plenty of time. And I might add that the amount of the bill was exceptionally........ much lower than I anticipated it would be! This morning the dealer called me to say the used 2011 Mustang was still for sale. I said I would like to buy it. The finance manager told me that I was required to purchase their optional extended warranty and GAP protection or they would sell the car to someone else. This is 110% illegal. I would never do business with such an unscrupulous dealer. I only gave it one star because it wont allow zero stars.

I heard that some of the customer service wasnt up to par, but I gave them an opportunity anyway.I saw a vehicle online, called to confirm that I had been preapproved and was interested.I talked to a Sales manager who said that he would call me back 5 minutes. After 30 minutes I called again and was put on hold for another 5 minutes only to be told that hes not available. Very rude and a waste of time. Very poor customer service....I will not be buying a vehicle from Ray skillman.
