Brought our car here to get a second opinion on a dealer suggested repair. Daniel & CJ were the most helpful!!!! They explained all the necessary details clearly and communicated in a timely manner. Didn’t end up doing the transmission work here because of warranty coverage but AAMCO still treated us the same as if we were giving them all of our money. They even comped the diagnostic fee for us. Will go back!

They were able to accurately replicate an issue I was having and correctly identified another issue that was being caused by a missing part all together. Appreciate the help in answering all questions I had in regard to the findings. I will be back for service or if any other issues arise.

I called around every where to get my car in for a clutch and flywheel. AAMCO saved me so much money compared to every where else. They kept me informed on everything. Ive had more experiences here than most customers: our family has had three vehicles serviced by AAMCO Castleton multiple times (for different issues), and during the last two years have had three transmissions rebuilt. This last year they installed a rebuilt transmission into our Mazda 5, and we recently returned to have it serviced after swapping out the engine--but this time was pleased to hear that the transmission fluid was low--nothing major. This AAMCO has always done an excellent job fixing our transmissions. Theyre friendly, professional and go out of their way to help in unadvertised ways. Recently when I had mentioned an exhaust leak, they offered to weld it. The car had additional engine issues which they also diagnosed. I appreciate that the offer fair and complete estimates, and the repair costs are highly reasonable. Last year we took our Honda Odyssey (with AAMCO rebuilt transmission) out West. We ran into a transmission issue, and were able to have it diagnosed at an AAMCO in Colorado since AAMCO repairs have a nationwide warranty, serviceable by any of the affiliated shops.I highly recommend that you take your vehicle here.

Took my truck in for an unknown fluid leak fearing the worst possible answer. Internet appt did not work, which needs fixed, but they worked me in and an hour later my truck was ready. They found a filter loose and fixed it at no charge. Great people, hopefully wont need to, but if I do Ill be back.

This place helped me when I was in the worst situation. Car broke down driving through Indianapolis on my way back from Chicago, on a Sunday. They saw me Monday morning, told me they didn’t have an appointment for 2 weeks, but since I was out of town, they’d try their best to look at the car soon. These guys SAVED me. The part took some time, but they got me up and going in the time they said i would have to wait for an appointment! Can’t thank them enough.

Just returned from AAMCO in the Castleton area of N.E. Indianapolis. Susan and I took our VW Beetle to this transmission shop last Friday. We met and talked with CJ and Dan. I had a 2011 mustang 5.0 6 speed manual and 5th and 6th gear was out. They totally rebuilt my transmission and upgraded parts in the transmission and it runs great now! They also put a new clutch and flywheel in. Everything feels great and is working perfectly! Took them a little longer than they originally planned due to finding other things that needed fixing and parts being on back order. They were super fair on price since they had the car for a while. Overall great value, very friendly and helpful, great deal! Would definitely use them again!

I ran into a really odd situation over the holidays when I drove 4.5 hours to Indy and had my transmission go out just a few short miles from my destination. After a very frustrating evening and day of realizing I was stranded and debating what to do, I had my car towed to AAMCO Castleton. They were quick to diagnose and troubleshoot the issue, recommend repair, and work with me to make it affordable. The biggest thing was they did this all while I was 3 states away. I had to get back home for work, so I left my vehicle in their hands and they handled my situation professionally and with care. I couldnt have chosen a better shop to give my business too. Needless to say the situation was nerve-wracking being so far away, but having this AAMCO to work with, made it manageable and helped put me at ease. I cant recommend this shop or the employees that work there highly enough.

Cj was very professional and helped diagnose the problem I was having with my transmission. He got back to me as soon as possible with no delay I would definitely recommend people to go see him at the Castleton location.

We were told by a different mechanic that we had a transmission problem. All the other places nearby had a ridiculously long wait but Aamco said to drop it off on a Friday and they could look at it over the weekend. They spent a long time checking it out and driving it just to find that it wasnt even a transmission problem after all. They were able to make a great guess to what it actually was, didnt even charge me for all the time they spent, and sent me off to find a new mechanic who was able to fix the issue.

Took my 2014 Jeep Cherokee in to have the transmission checked. Problem: Transmission did not engage at start up of vehicle. Was able to turn off and back on and then transmission engaged. Solution. AAMCO reset the computer which fixed the error and the transmission would then engage. They continued to put hours into researching what caused the error to no success. However, they did not charge the extra hours of research. On top of that, they were able to fix another computer problem I was experiencing. Problem 2: after resetting the oil change mileage, the odometer began flashing and the console controls did not work. Solution: Computer reset solved that issue as well. Again no charge for the computer reset. The jeep has proved to have many computer based problems and I will definitely be returning to AAMCO. Great service!

AAMCO was amazing! I went to three different stores around the city to fix my battery and all stores turned me down saying it would be too much of a risk. When I went to AAMCO they told me they can replace the battery for me as long as I provide the battery. It took them two minutes and was done free of charge. The service was great and friendly and I would go back there anytime I need help with my car.

I experience noise in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler automatic transmission while towing an empty trailer. The noise went away after pulling over and checking what I could. I returned home and scheduled an appointment with AAMCO as a precautionary measure.My appointment was two business days later.The customer associate stated they would do a diagnostic exam and give me their findings.That same day, my Jeep was ready for pick up. Nothing was found wrong: they tested electronically, test drove, checked fluids... all good.That was a relief! I then asked the cost for the evaluation. The AAMCO rep said, No charge. We dont need to charge you since we didnt make any repairs. Wow! No charge. No hidden fees.AAMCO just found a loyal customer. And I found an honest, ethical, and loyal auto repair shop. Thank AAMCO!!

May 2020, one of our vehicles needed repairs for ultimately a new clutch and a new transmission. AAMCO was the most professional, best diagnosis and essentially the best price we received. A dealership quote was astronomical! An independent garage diagnosed the clutch but not the transmission issues.AAMCO provided the best service, price, and warranty while being transparent on the technical aspects and weighing all options. The guys there were very nice. However the first technician diagnosed my problem as a cooler/radiator issue. A hour later a different technician diagnosed a transmission rebuild. It change very rapidly and went from a $600 job to a $5000 major problem.I took it to a different shop and it just need a radiator flush and a temperature sensor.The price for a rebuild was so good i went ahead amd got it rebuilt, a new torque converter and had the stall speed changed. All that was still thousands less with a better warranty.

I was having transmission problems and was referred to these guys, and they did not disappoint. I spoke with CJ who was very helpful and professional, with me getting me setup with an appointment and also giving me call back to let me know what was wrong with my car. If I ever have car problems in the fututre these guys are number 1 on my list, I would give 10 stars If I could, Will reccomend to anybody.

I had my car taken to AAMCO for a diagnostic and unfortunately I was not going to be able to get it repaired by them because of the price. I went to have it picked up by a tow truck and the manager drove my car twice, recklessly knowing the transmission needed to be repaired and then treated the man who was towing my car very poorly, I was highly disappointed especially since I was referred to them by a great company.

After the Toyota dealers that I faithfully went to for years tried to tell me I needed a $3000 new transmission, Aamco diagnosed the problem and fixed it for under $300! That was my first experience with this location. Two more trips later and this location continues to impress me with their knowledge and integrity.

Follow up — AAMCO followed up with us on our complaint and replaced the shift lock release cover free of charge. We took another vehicle there about a month later. They diagnosed a transmission issue and welded an exhaust together free of charge. Very happy with their service.

My 2002 Toyota Camry recently had a problem shifting between lower and higher gears. I took it to a shop in Wyoming, who was unable to fix the problem completely. My own garage here in town, Tyler Auto, told me to take it to Aamco. Their diagnostic procedures are very thorough, it seems as though they have a lot of different equipment at their disposal to do very detailed tasks, tests they can run without even taking it out for a spin. Because of this they seem to have figured out precisely what the problems were with a minimum of labor. At first they used aftermarket parts. Once it was discovered that aftermarket parts would not work, they purchased Toyota parts at a higher price, but only charged me for the price of the original parts that they used, and I only paid once for both sets of parts - very generous of them. About a week later, the check engine light came back on. After another 3 hours of diagnostics, they figured out exactly what the problem was and, even though they may not have caused the problem, they fixed it for free. I did not have an extra car, and theyre not too far from my house. So I brought my bike, but the tires were flat so they pumped those up cheerfully . When I came back to pick up the car, I realized I needed to squish the bike into the trunk because I had to pick up my kids. So Nick helped me get the rear tire off cheerfully.The next time I have any problem that is in their area of expertise, I will go to them without hesitation.

Bandys was trying to charge me $2,000 for repairs they said needed to be done, so I came to AAMCO for a second opinion. Only needed $300 in Repairs done!! I will come back here again. These guys seem really honest.

They got my vehicle done ahead of schedule and got it back on the road. They even polished my cloudy headlights to make night driving safer without me even asking or charging me for it. I highly recommend this AAMCO.

As for my second quote for the repairs on my BMW Nick and his team were $3,000 less then foreign car repair shop in Fishers. Very friendly and helpful even got me a Uber home until their work was done. They are certified Master BMW Mechanics if youre in need of one. They have earned my business and my respect. I would recommend this company and will continue to do business with them ONLY going forward.

I took my car to a competitor for a routine maintenance of my transmission fluid and filter (mistake on my part). The competitor said they couldn’t change my transmission fluid because my check engine light was coming on.....funny how I’ve never seen this. So I called AAMCO on Saturday and they got me in on Monday. They were friendly and helpful! My car was leaking fluid slowly and I thought it was from oil at first, but I knew from the driving performance that it had to be a transmission issue. I went online and requested a quote and a response came back to me almost immediately.
