We’ve been meaning to come to this museum as a family for years. So glad we finally made it to celebrate the life of Jimmy Stewart and remember his wonderful contributions to the world - many of them contributions outside of the film industry. He is such an example of citizenship and patriotism. And I love that he put his family first. I hope this museum is around for years to come.
If you love Its a wonderful Life and Jimmys other movies thus I a great place to spend a couple of hours. Lots of history and fun facts.
An unexpectedly great array of memorabilia and information. It has expanded since I was last there. They also show a Jimmy Stewart movie every day at 1 PM. The museum earned a Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award. I wholeheartedly agree with that award. It is well worth a drive to visit!
Really nice Museum to visit. I wish I had gone there sooner. The memorabilia inside is incredible.
Very nice and informative museum. Lots of memorabilia. There is even a small theater inside that shows a daily matinee of his movies.
Fantastic experience. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The museum is set up with a really good flow. I would go back in a heartbeat.
The entrance was a little tough to find. It is set back from the library building a bit and not at all obvious from the street. Apparently, there is limited free parking behind the building, but by the time we knew that, we had already fed a parking meter and were inside the museum. It is a small museum, but has some interesting things. Being a film buff, I had thought we had seen a lot of Mr. Stewarts performances. We learned that we have some homework to do! :-)The staff were very nice, but what is with museums like this not allowing photography? They have a theater that plays Mr. Stewarts movies. We didnt stay long enough to see a feature film, but did watch the biographical film. It was very good. Recommended.
Jimmy James James Jimmy. Stolen indoan land. They change Jimmys name. Its now James Stewart. So how van you have a fake actor museam
This place is great. You will want a few hours here to peruse all the history and memorabilia. Worth visiting more than once.
I learned a lot more about a local movie legend while touring this museum.
Im a fan of old movies so this place was right up my alley. It was an extensive exhibit including clothing, awards, posters movies and personal history of Jimmy Stewart.
It was great felt like going back in time
Its worth the time to go and see the museum.
Great place to learn more about a great actor.
Well worth the visit. He was a great American.
When visiting family in the area I always make it a point to visit The Jimmy Stewart Museum. It has been a few years since my last visit and might I say I really enjoyed visiting this last time around. From what I gather the museum just went through a remodel. Theres a section for Indiana and the local history of the area. The Hollywood gallery wraps around the theatre along with an awards section. My two sons were amazed by the aviation/military exhibit. I was happy to see that they devoted a portion of the museum to his aviation/military career. I can tell you that my two sons spent the most time in that section. With the remodel I can say I enjoyed the museum more this time around. The Hollywood Gallery is all together, the Indiana portion is expanded, and the aviation/military is all together and is a great salute to Jimmys military service. The staff working was great as well and informed me that they will have rotating exhibits. I guess Ill have to make a visit around Christmas time as they have an expanded Its a Wonderful Life exhibit.
Great experience. Loved it
Relaxed& clean, and safe atmosphere. Has an elevator. Very informative. Nice clean town too, stopped at 9th Street Deli, DELICIOUS. Best steak and cheese sub
I did a Walk with History video from here. Great Museum.
If you are a true Jimmy fan you have to come...The end.
The kids and I had a wonderful time in their mini theater. We watched Its a wonderful life. They show different Jimmy Stewart movies all the time. Staff was so helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience.
Well worth the visit. Very informative, learned more about Jimmy than I already knew
Very interesting and informative about Jimmys life. Worth the trip.
The Jimmy Stewart Museum was an unexpected delight. It has an extensive collection of awards, photos, personal effects and memorabilia from the beloved actor. The museum is spread throughout several rooms and features a retro cinema area that routinely shows various Stewart films and documentaries about his life, as well as several TVs scattered throughout its rooms that showcase different films within the Stewart canon. It is a definite must-visit for film buffs and Jimmy fans alike.Nestled in the sleepy, small town of Indiana, PA, the museum and its knowledgeable staff embody Stewarts quote, Always remember to be nice to people.
I always wanted to see this museum, however the staff here arent the best. They ask you for your zip code so they can see where everyone came from and after telling them my zip code. They told me that that wasnt real. So overall museum is great staff need to learn people skills.
Great little place to visit even during the holidays!
Loved the museum much because the man himself was awesome.
As a Jimmy Stewart fan, it was a paradise for me, the crosswalk has a great surprise. its unfortunate that as people are aging, the museum has declined in number of visits to it. Hopefully more people can recognize his good work and visit this lovely little museum
I love Jimmy Stewart! (Like my dad said in one of these reviews) if youre a fan, I highly recommend! They tell you all about the cool things that Jimmy Stewart did! So cool! 💕
Great memorabilia about Jimmy Stewarts career. A bit more interpretation of his life and legacy would be nice. Exhibits include a lot, but feel like theyre just stuff thrown up without much thought of telling a cohesive story. Fans of this great actor will enjoy the memories and probably learn something, but the museum could use an update. Still worth a visit.
I went to visit this lovely museum for the very first time today. This place has so many cool archives!
We are Jimmy Stewart fans and decided to drive up and see the museum. What a wonderful place. The museum is an annex to the Indiana Public Library, in the middle of town per Jimmys wishes. The museum starts with Jimmys ancestry goes through his time growing up in Indiana, through his first movie career, his military service and his second movie career. The tour guide, Terre, got us started with the first room then allowed us to wander around looking at all of the artifacts from Jimmys life. He was a remarkable man, an actor, soldier, athlete, musician, poet and painter. Throughout his life Jimmy lived the ideals taught to him by his parents and those he grew up with in Indiana. The museum has plans for 2020 as this year is the 25th anniversary of museum. Wed like to come back and see the changes.
Came a long way from the basement where we visited. A true legend who served his country in the military in addition to his awesome work on the big screen
Such a great tribute to a wonderful man. An added bonus was seeing Its A Wonderful Life on their theater.A lot of great information. Would be even better if photography was permitted but I still recommend visiting at least once.
Great place to learn about this humble man. Tammy Barrow (an employee) was very informative and answered many questions. Loved the short clip narrated by his daughter. Worth the trip to see.
Closed. We called beforehand and the message said they were open but they werent.
The people can be a little crabby working there but other than that its very educational and a great place to go. There is so many things to look at and I absolutely loved it
Mildly Interesting. Very comprehensive collection of movie memorabilia. Shows movies in a nice theater as well. Good on history of Indiana, PA and Western PA in general.
If you live Jimmy Stewart you will lose yourself in the museum. So much to see so much to read and lots of videos and movies to watch. And the gift store is filled with awesome memorabilia to buy. Loved every minute I was there.
Very informative museum covering the actors life. Only nice people work there.
Im so glad I stopped by! Great learning experience about a wonderful actor. Staff was really helpful, and the museum was filled with cool memorabilia.
This is a small museum connected to the library. It is still charming like Jimmy Stewart himself. The staff was very friendly as well. Worth the time to stop by if you are in the area.
This was a very nice little museum. Unique in displaying his roots in a small town. Im glad I went.
Museum itself was pretty cool, however the customer service was subpar. The man working at the ticket box did not offer everyone discounts for military, students, and AAA members which was extremely disappointing as we found this out when we were getting ready to leave and our family has AAA. When confronted about it, he offered no apology and ignored the comment. Also, the man working the gift store should be retired as he struggled to use the electronic tablet for ringing up or returning purchases. A family member had to return an item almost immediately after the purchase and it took more than a half hour to do the simple return and he was unable to perform the return so she just kept the item due to impatience and frustration.
Loved it. Now I want to see all his old films, hooray for Turner Classic Movies.
Saw a lot of posters for movies he was in that I was unaware of. Lots of interesting things to look at. No pictures because youre not allowed to take any.
Very informative. Knowledgeable & helpful staff. Worth the visit.
Loved seeing about his life and pictures
Loved it
A great individual museum honoring a local military hero and famous actor.

Awesome place to visit and watch Its a Wonderful Life
Very interesting place to visit. Make sure you watch the films they show.
Had no idea that this museum was going to be right by IUP where I was attending a conference. There were original costumes, a small theatre and much memorabilia that show what was going on during James Stewarts life that affected him and his career. Definitely worth checking out if your into film, history, and/or James Stewart

Jimmy Stewart hated Indiana and they make too much profit that should be going to the local library
Nice place
