Awesome shop, plenty of stuff to browse and check out. Could maybe do with a little more variety, but if they have what you want they have good quantity. I will definitely be back though.

New to the area. Super friendly and helpful. Prices are great and they have a ton of events going around. Main focus is gunpla but have a few interesting kits splattered in between

This is a really really special place. Ive been building Gunpla for about a year now and this the first place that comes to mind if I wanted a new kit, tools, or accessories. Everyone is so friendly and super knowledgeable. You honestly feel like friends as soon as you walk in the door. I can ask them any wacky question and they have an answer for it. Regardless of being a beginner or upper level builder they will meet you where youre at and help you with everything. Ive been to other places in town but never have had the same experience. Other places arent always as friendly and/or dont know as much about the differences in Gunpla kits. No offense to other businesses but if youre looking at anything Gunpla related then Build Up should be your top choice.

Staff has been amazing every time I have gone in, super supportive and friendly. Has given great recommendations and suggestions for builds to try out and I will always try to do my model shopping there. They have gone above and beyond.

I just found out about this place today. And I a 33 year old man was trying not to completely fanboy out.The selection is the best I have ever seen in person.Friendly lady at the front. She was more than willing to chat for a few moments..I look forward to coming back and spending plenty of time and money here.

Went here on the 24th of January to buy my first ever Gundam kits. The selection was cool and the guy running the store was nice, I had a great time overall. Would have felt safer if he was wearing a mask, but otherwise a good place, and it feels good to support a small hobby store like this. Would come back again

This store is the bane of my existance. i was doing really good at handling my finances and then they open up a gunpla store right down road from me! They have an amazing staff, really good selection, prices similar to the original JP price, paints, accessories, and more! if there was any complaint i have its that they dont do custom orders, personally i wouldnt mind spending a bit extra to support a local business and fuel my addiction/hobby. If youre in kansas city and love gundam or mecha anime in general, i cant recommend this store enough! heres hoping itll catch on and be here to serve our gunpla needs for many many years to come!

They have amazing kits to build really awesome models.

Everything is imported from Japan 🇯🇵 and is totes freaken awesome from models... food... and anime wear and when you think it cant get anymore cool you find out they manga

Awesome place to go if youre into gunpla! Very clean little shop with pretty much everything you could ever want or need for building your models. Very decently priced, sometimes cheaper than what you can find online, plus you dont have to pay for the shipping from Japan and wait 8 months lol. Also, the guy working there was super nice and personable, sorry bud, I forgot your name, felt like we were best friends though just talking about gundams and what not. Super knowledgeable staff. Cant wait to return and get something new after I finish building sazabi.

Just got into gunpla with a friend of mine, so we started looking up stores that sell models. This awesome place popped up and its amazing! And Lauren the employee helping us was wonderful and very knowledgeable. They have beautiful showcases featuring models and while the stock inventory was low at the time do to COVID they said the shelves will be packed once shipping gets back on track! Totally worth going to if you are a Gundam/Gunpla fan! I will be returning for future purchases!!!

While its a small shop, they are very friendly and every time we go in every is new so twice a week we go in to see what we can find. They never disappoint, always so many new model kits we cant find anywhere else except online where it can take up to 8 months for the kits to arrive. Now I can find them here! If you build Japanese model kits you really need to come here!

Excellent hobby shop specializing in Bandai and Kotobukiya models. Staff is knowledgable, product is fairly priced, and the store is clean and inviting.Im from the east coast, and visited this shop on a whim while on vacation. As soon as I stepped foot inside, I was welcomed and offered help. The gentleman behind the counter answered any question I could think of, directed me to exactly what i was looking for, all while helping another customer. When it came time to check out, i was made aware of a loyalty program, a 5$ voucher for every 100 spent. Of course, I added a few items to reach the next 100$ mark. I ran into an issue with this: everything I found was priced lower than I was expecting!

It has an amazing selection of Japanese snacks and the staff is amazing! I had to stop myself from buying all of their food. The staff is also so nice and incredible! Cant wait for what the future holds for this store. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

The fact that this store is in Independence is amazing. The staff is friendly. They maintain a space to build your models. The stock is a bit limited, but they will order for you. Honestly, I just made a purchase in order to support the business and local Gunpla community.

Its about time there was a store like this! Not only does it have pretty much everything you would want from a Gunpla store, but the owners did their homework in making sure that they are there to stay, which is awesome to see. And from the look of things, they are only just warming up, they are only using about half the store right now with the other half being set up for even more for the customers, I cant wait. The prices are very fair and they are also working with local builders in their works, which is wonderful to see. My only complaint, this store is way too close to my home, I will end up going there a lot a spending all my money lol. Keep up the good work you guys.

Build Up is an amazing store with great employees, a good selection, and some of the best prices around. This is my go to for any of my gunpla needs, as not only do they stock everything you need, but they are also extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell.

A nice, friendly hobby store focused on Bandai and Kotobukiya kits. The staff are great and knowledgeable about their stock. Prices are close to what you get online.They also have room for building, a selection of anime, and hold events. Highly recommend.

Employee was very knowledgeable and nice. We talked for probably 20-30min. Apparently Ive only visited during dead hours (~2h before close) as Ive only ever seen one other person.
