I have worked in the automobile business for years (a dealership and for an extended warranty company) and have known many shops. Hoyt Auto is one of the best that I have ever dealt with. Jeff Hoyt is straight forward, does only what is needed for your auto, and takes care of his customers. It is hard to find that honesty and integrity these days.

On 12/04/18, I went there to change the 3rd break light to pass the inspection. Jeff Hoyt did not know how to change it. To make the story short, he damage despoiler so bad that my trunk would not open I went on the highway and the windbreaker blew off.I took it back to him, he said he will order a new windbreaker (spoiler) and fix it.Days turned to weeks and months. He said the prices for spoiler are not reasonable.I sent him a certified letter along with estimate from a body shop. I wrote that I am willing to go to a body shop of his choice.Finally I contact the BBB in Kansas City.He told the BBB, He was angry, that is why I didnt fix it. Even after BBB told him to fix my car, he refused to do so.The BBB told me that all they can do is to give him negative report on their list.In March of 2019, I contacted channel 5, Call for Action. After repeated request by a volunteer at channel 5, he got a used spoiler. The volunteer told me he refused to pay for the installation of the part, and you need to take him to court.Here we are in the middle of June. I have to use duct tape on the top of rear window to prevent rain from going in. I have to re apply new duct tape every few days.My insurance does not cover it because is not an accident. I have other obligations and can not pay to fix it myself.

GREAT PLACE, GREAT SERVICE GREAT PRICE. Called a number of places in Kansas City to get quotes for mounting and balancing new tires for my car. Hoyts quote came in the lowest so I took the chance and drove the 40 minutes from Smithville to Independence.Professional, very friendly and service done in a very timely manner.Good customer service should be the rule and not the exception but unfortunately thats not the case these days but IS the case at this repair shop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and I will definitely go back with any auto repair I have.

Had Dave (818 Auto) do some work on our car. Great mechanic and person. Ifn you are needing any work done, he is definitely who I would recommend.

I took my older craftsman rider to Hoyt Auto after other repair shops told me that the transmission needed to be replaced or junked all together. Mark found out it just needed a drive belt and fixed it for a reasonable price.They even saved the old parts to show me was replaced. Jeff and Mark are great to deal with and I recommend them to anyone.

FINALLY!!! An honest shop. I came in and needed a wheel bearing on the left side. Later I started hearing what I thought was a similar noise from the right side. I thought dang, here we go again. Mr. Hoyt checked it out and said it was merely a piece of metal that had bent a little and was rubbing on the wheel. He bent it back.....NO CHARGE! Ill never go anywhere else.

Told me transmission leak was fixed by replacing coolant lines. Brought back in a few days later because I was still seeing the fluid leak. Told me it was just fluid from the previous leak stuck under the car... Threw some water on it and said it was fine. My car broke down less than a month later, almost no fluid in the transmission. Had to get the transmission completely rebuilt because of the damage.

If you want good work done at a competitive price take your car to Hoyt. I have been taking my vehicles to this shop for a few years now and I have no complaints.

Jeff is the REAL deal. There arent even words for how over and above this guy went for me yesterday. He fixed the actual problem, thoroughly looked around the underside of my vehicle and informed me of 4 other issues while taking it upon himself to fix a few minor ones. He even like, rotated my tires after finding the wires on one were exposed. He put on the donut for me AND checking the tire pressure in all the others. This guys LEGIT and I cant say enough about him. I came to Jeff on a recommendation from a friend and Im sold.
