I had the worst experience yesterday, someone in the store stole my phone and the manager was totally unhelpful. She basically told me that they only check security cameras if someone stole the products but not to their customer....so disappointed

I came in for a Friday afternoon haircut. It was my first time at this location, and I had a great experience! Kayla was my stylist, and she did a fantastic job of asking specific questions of what I wanted and getting to know my hair before doing anything. She recommended the deep conditioning treatment which was amazing! She was very gentle throughout both the washing and cutting process, and I never felt pressured to tell my life story. I am very happy with the haircut experience. After, I shopped around the store which was clean and organized. I will definitely be coming back!

The lady that helped me look was insistent that powder foundation wouldn’t work on “textured skin” even though I had like one break on my face but whatever.

Very nice place. I prefer the Ulta at Silver Spring which is bigger and has more items in stocks, particularly Philosophy and Bare Minerals.

I had a great experience at this Ulta location. L was awesome. She was really patient and kind. She didn’t try and over sell me and really understood my needs. I ended up buying more then I had planned since I had such a positive experience and L had a lot to do with that!

They have mostly what I was looking for there. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I should have known that I’d be treated like a criminal when coming to this location instead of my usual location in Columbia. God forbid I return something without a receipt. First, I was told that since they couldn’t see my transaction I had to call customer service. When I explained that I’m pretty sure customer service no longer looks up receipts I was told I was out of luck. No store credit even. I went to my car and reread the policy which clearly said that if I had no receipt and they couldn’t find my purchase on my account I would receive store credit so I went back inside. At that time the “manager” told me that she didn’t know about that policy and that all she knew is what they did in her other store. Another manager did indeed help me but was quick to ask me if I had ever made a return without a receipt before- if so I may not be allowed to again. All in all I was treated like a lying criminal and told many different things across three different staff. It was very uncomfortable and nothing like the way they treat customers in Columbia. Very sad sight to see.

Try to avoid Ulta in Hyattsville, Maryland. I love GREAT customer service. Unfortunately, I never receive exceptional customer service at this particular location. I think I will email the hiring manager. Every time I enter this particular store, I get turned off and my mood changes. I am never greeted nor asked if I need assistance. Employees are standing around socializing amongst each other and not engaging with customers. You can’t differentiate the manger from the employees because they’re all unprofessional. I would never recommend anyone to shop there. I recommend Ulta in Laurel. They’re amazing!

The place is neat and clean. Staff is friendly but sometimes when I need help no ones around. There is a smaller selection of Bare Minerals products and thats what I have been using for 20 years. I like the Ulta in Silver Spring better but this Ulta is closer to the Giant and Whole Foods so I can do all my shopping .

FAIR WARNING: LONG REVIEWI have no idea why the other two reviews are even up. I love this place. Its always clean and the staff is super friendly. I come to this location a few times a week while on my lunch break. Not once have I witnessed any of the employees be rude to any customer. They try their best to greet every person that walks in the store and if they see you wandering around, they are quick to ask if you need any help. Also, there are times where there are multiple customers and the lines are long.Ive been matched several times at Ulta and I have also had to return and repurchase several foundations due to the undertones being way off in different lighting.You cant blame an employee for matching you to the wrong undertone. They do not control the lighting in the store nor do they control the lighting in your house.I have seen people get upset at long lines and just leave. I have heard people say, They need more people working here...this is ridiculous.People need to think about the fact that is is the FIRST AND ONLY Ulta in PG County that is close AND accessible by public transportation (Metro-Green Line) to a lot of county residents. The other Ulta is in Laurel. That is definitely way too far for most residents.Of course the lines might be a tad bit long. But, the employees are moving as fast as humanly possible to accommodate every guest.Before this location opened, people had to travel to Virginia or other counties just to even set foot into an Ulta.

For best experience go on a Sunday. All the Sunday employees are really professional and helpful.They were really helpful and nice to customers. They didn’t give me no attitude and that made me feel welcome and more relaxed when shopping.

I bought a $20 worth liquid lipstick from a prestige brand. The store is poorly stocked and staff does not check items before selling. The lipstick box was sealed and put on well lit shelves. After purchasing the item, when I opened it it was a tester. Very poor management!

Got everything I needed and the staff was great helping me pick stuff out for my granddaughters.

I visited the ULTA at Prince Georges Mall on Saturday. I wanted an orange lipstick by Smashbox. They said it was probably discontinued. They tried very hard to help me, good service. Kinda hot in the mall and store though. Hopefully they will have what you want!

Find what I was looking for

I went here with my boyfriend to look for a specific MAC eyeshadow color that Ive bought many times. The second I walked up to the MAC section the women stared at me like I was intruding on them, stared me up and down, and then acted angry when I asked for the eyeshadow color, after I had been searching without help for awhile, and then they laughed saying it doesnt exist. They didnt check. My boyfriend was shocked by the level of rudeness. I walked out of the store and didnt buy anything.I am giving the store 2 stars instead of 1 only because I have to assume that this group of women dont represent all of the workers there.

This place has all beauty supplies, men and women fragrances, nail polish,Salon and most of all reasonable prices, all hair products I really like this place to especially the rewards you get

Terrible Customer Service. People who work there have terrible people skills. They dont seem knowledgeable and you have to ask for help/service. They will not walk you anywhere ...they will just vaguely point to the product. Dont go here if youre looking to change your regimen (i.e Spend Money). This a Ulta you go into to quickly get what you want

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone due to the poor customer service and rudeness of some of the employees. My experience there was terrible the customer rep at the MAC makeup station on Sunday 03/24/19 afternoon was straight up unapproachable and mean spirited. When I asked for help finding a foundation she was reluctant to help and rolled her eyes.

Its was okay! The service was perfect.

Inattentive staff seriously lacking in product or makeup knowledge. I had to get matched for a foundation thrice and every time it was the wrong shade with the wrong undertone. Ive never had this issue with Sephora or at beauty counters at major department stores. Considering its a brand new store, youd think theyd be experts or enthusiastic.

I love the range of cosmetics especially the high end brands! So happy they have esté lauder and MAC which not many Ultas do in the area.

Had the worst experience at Ulta Beauty (Hyattsville) Ulta BeautyMy sister and I go to Ulta Beauty (Hyattsville).I walk up to a young associate in the store and ask her Can she help us find some foundation because they do the free consults there. (were taking family photos this weekend)She basically looks annoyed and starts off by saying what kind of foundation do I want.So I say Im not sure, we want to find one that matches.So then shes like well finding a match isnt the issue, all the brands have foundation, so you would need to figure out which brand you want.So then Im like, Well I dont wear makeup really so Im not sure...Then shes like well I use (insert random brand section shes in) then proceeds to name other brand sections in the store.I had just said I dont wear makeup and shes being very unhelpful.Then she proceeds to say well this brand is $40 is that okay with you. (still has an attitude like were intruding on her down time)I was like umm beacuse I wasnt sure how to respond.then she was like well thats a place to startMy sister chimes in and is like, well the cheaper there better I guess.So then she points us to the nyx and Maybelline, says the nyx is new and then says you can just go over there and find what texture you like.so seeing as how shes not going to be helpful we just walk over to the section and start looking.To make things worse I see her go over to her coworker start whispering, looking at us,and then roll her eyes.Short story shorter, we left and didnt buy anything.We fully intended to buy something but her attitude wasnt worth it not to mention she didnt even attempt to help us.I called the store and spoke to the manager and he said sorry there must have been miscommunication and then gave me the customer service number but didnt seem like he really cared.I had heard so many things about Ulta that I was excited to go there for the very first time, but I was quickly disappointed.I still dont have any foundation for my family pictures on Saturday either.

Ulta Beauty is not a good store to shopp at because they have cheap products and the employees are not friendly 😡 soon as you walk through the door you feel like they make you feel uncomfortable and lost.
