I have changed my 3 star rating to 5. After I posted my initial review, I received a response from the manager which showed they care. I visited the store again and everything was perfect. Thank you for listening and taking actions. It shows you really care about your customers.Older review:Store was organized and clean but there was a long long line and only one cashier open. Several other staff members were in various isles, available but did not come to help. The cashier lady who seem to be in charge never called for help.

I just purchased a 2 pack Easy Seal Bubble Mailers (10.5c15.25 or 26cmx38cm) and was charged $2 plus tax. I mean other 99¢ stores will charge you $1 for the same item. Ive been to many of them, and purchased the same item many times, and this store is the ONLY one that charges double.Customers BEWARE!!!I certainly would never come back here. Why should when the same store elsewhere charges lessI called and spoke with a manager by the name of Rick, and he wasnt helpful one bit.

They have old food. Produce was going bad. My corn tortillas were falling apart when I tried to roll my enchiladas. Not a good store!

Their prices nowadays could be anything that ends in 9 but this is still one of my favorite stores. Theres usually something unusual and unexpected to find that makes it fun. Best to know or test products before going big though.3/21/2021 Update: Thought I would have to downgrade my rating after several weeks of mediocre experiences at this location. However they now have fixed the cold storage and marked the prices better on most items. Beware that some items are now priced more than some regular stores, however there are still gems to be found.

Its the 99 cent ONLY store. Still lots of bargains but perhaps time to rethink about the name. Dollar Tree is STILL true to each item a buck

This particular 99 cent store is full of senior citizens typically in the mornings I walked in there today to supply my kitchen with food and there were only a handful of people in there it was nice but they were out of a lot of things I did manage to buy canned goods rice pasta and other staples it will help me make it through this damn virus. I like that there are a lot of products that cost 99 cents when in other stores cost way more. Some other stuff is just the regular price but its ok. This is a good place to shop.

Just awesome place to buy knick knacks... Just be careful of food items that are expired or about to expire..but overall..very excellent place for people who are in a tight budget.

Ive been shopping at this 99 for quite awhile, its always clean & organized, and have lots of product, however, Im not fond of the fact that most of their products are not 99 ¢ anymore. Yes, they have nice items above 99 ¢ but even like small items for example cell phone acc. detergents are $1.49 2.49 and so on. Like the shower soaps and the like gave gone up. But overall, they continue to have the basics. Great prices on breads, fresh vegetables, large soda liters, many good cleaning products. I wont quit shopping here. The location is very convenient and the staff associates are sharp and focused. Still a good place to save $. And the parking is easy breezy. Large lot close to store spaces.

Great place for cheap food and sundry goods, but over half the stuff costs more than 99 cents. It didnt used to be that way...

I am surprised of the items Ive found there. Im a big collector of power rangers and Ive found mini figures and other mighty morphin power rangers times, along with Funko Pop figures.

Why is it called the 99 cent only store still? They have not been only 99 cents in years and thats why I do not go as often anymore.

Crowded. They wont open more registers when the line to the single open register goes to the back of the store.

Great staff here, sometimes its in disarray but thats because the whole town comes in here but wont admit it, lol. Prices keep going up, up, up. They need to change the name. Its annoying. But thats a corporate issue of course. However, their items are still cheaper than other stores, especially party supplies and basic living essentials like paper towels, school supplies, bathroom supplies, etc. BTW, I always buy my bananas here. They are always sweeter than Costco or Sams Club bananas. I swear theres a difference. Great vegetable department, truly impressive.

Update Again April 5 2021 I am bothered by staff to sway my health and opinion on masks. My health is only my concern regardless of what anyone chooses to believe, say. If people want to believe, act whatever that is anothers business as mine is mine. I was humiliated, surrounded, treated like dirt, refused service if I didnt wear a mask as the staff wears. I dont live in the area as well at my age I dont wake per a business selection time. I wake for my health requirement. I called customer service again apologized to. I was not believed and asked for what the hippa law does not allow. I wasnt believed I am who I am. This is against handicap laws also. Then they have the nerve after all these staff members put me through and try to show me how to wear a mask to say have a nice day. Evil in no other words. I dont work there. I am not to blame for what this staff believes or has to do to work, or capable of I am not. I am not to be put through hell from their inability to research the truth etc. This pandemic bull needs to be put to an end. The United Nations needs to be exposed so we all get back to our lives.I frequent this store about once a month due to covid. I cant wear a mask because of a health condition. I cant work because of the mask requirements. I went in to this store Sat Nov 28 to buy a few supplies when Greg told me in a very determined voice I have to wear a mask. Hes done this before. I showed my doctor note prior to today. He asked for my note again. He said he has to wear a mask. His wife has to wear a mask to work. I said that is not my problem. A customer said let her go. I mentioned again I cant wear a mask. He was very angry towards me because I cant wear a mask. He said he is tired of people coming into the store not wearing a mask. He tried to scare me to leave the store. He then said his wife has asthma and she wears a mask. I said that is not my problem. She can refuse and not go to work as you the same. I dont write the corporate rules. I can barely breathe without a covering. I gasp for air. Anyone who listens to how I speak would know I have a health breathing issue. I did go through the store, checked out. I shouldnt be bothered though by a worker for his or her inability not to wear a mask. That is not my problem. Any worker should be polite, understand and let me move on with my shopping in peace. I suffer from severe allergies as well. Masking is wrong by force to anyone healthy or unhealthy in my opinion. My right to shop freely should not be infringed by an employee who chooses to stay at work and wear a mask. Greg owes me an apology. This store has a great selection of products.

Much better than 99 cents Costa Mesa. Pretty dirty though. Didnt remember it like that. Turning into a 1.99, 2.99, 3.99,4.99-10.99 etc., etc. I believe the sign outside still says 99cents ONLY!!!!

I love going into the 99 Cent Store. I couldnt believe my eyes when I went in. I went to the one located off of Brookhurst and south of Adams. They had all kinds of nick-nacks and most of the items I saw were very reasonably priced. Theres no way someone who frequents this place of business could come out of there empty handed...., Unless they went in for a particular item that the store didnt carry. I found the employees working hard and friendly.

Came here at 8:50 PM and was refused to be let in. Was told the store closes at 9pm and they had to have everybody out by then. Multiple people were turned away and were furious.Funny thing is, I called another .99 cent store in HB and they said they don’t do that at their store. They let people in up until 9.I can’t believe a store conducts business in this way.

This location is fairly well kept compared to some other 99 Cents Only stores in more seedy areas but some might expect it to be or hope that it was a bit better/cleaner considering its location. While its a decent sized location, it does seem to have a limited collection of items when compared to newer, more larger locations which is a given of course but at least its still seemingly a bit better in terms of number of products offered when compared to the location farther north on Beach Blvd, closer to Warner Ave.I would say the major noticeable downside to this place that puts it at 3 starts, at least for me (basically meaning its just average rather than above average) is that out of the past 4 or 5 times Ive been here, more than 3 out of 4 times theres a long line for the registers, which on its own is understandable, but what adds insult to injury is that theyll call to open another cashier and it takes quite awhile before it actually happens, almost like there isnt a sense of urgency there. So if youre leisurely shopping and are not in a hurry, go knock yourself out. But if youre on a schedule or would prefer to have speedy cashiers to help you get in and out quickly, it may be better to gamble on going somewhere else.

This is the place where I get a lot of things that are necessity and it has great prices obviously. Although buyer beware for the quality and of course prop 65...The bathrooms could use a little help and a few other things..up keep in the vegetable section.. employees are pretty nice.

I love going to the 99 cent store, they have some fun things to buy and for such a great price.! I always get my ice there other stores charge 2.49 for the same 7lbs that I get for 99 cents . Decorations are. Always a great find and greeting cards . I would like to buy some ice cream but Im lactose intolerant. I saw the last time they had a sign on the cold box that they carry lactose milk but no lactose ice cream ! It would be great if you carry those items all the time but this time they didnt have any milk . Love your store .!😘 June Carr customer.

Their prices have gone up higher and higher in the past year or so. You can get many of their items in the grocery store for the same or a lesser price. It is now not a 99 cent only store. Their sign should say 99 cents and Up store!!!.

I forgot about this store until recently and was surprised at how much they had changed. Lots of produce and way cheaper than the grocery store. They usually carry huge zucchini..great for grilling at 2 for 99. Lots of other merchandise too for lower prices too. Stop here before you go to the grocery store and save yourself some money.

This is a very big store with lots of stuff. There is no way youll walk out empty handed. So much for a nice price. Clean and cashiers are efficient.

What a great place to get fresh vegetables and fruit I also buy other products there too I bought paper plates cups silverware for a picnic that we just had over Labor Day weekend I like that they have a lot of those different types of iced tea drinks and some of the different flavored Gatorade Powerade our family really enjoys those the cookies were excellent we got the chocolate covered Graham cookies wow did that remind me of the old days if you get a chance to go in there go check out the cookie section also they had some really good almond cookies to oriental-style ones I was very surprised

One of the cleanest and well-stocked discount stores Ive been to. Things are usually there when I need them. The layout of the store could be a little better but thats only a minor gripe. Most of the donation seekers out front are in good spirits and dont tend to be obnoxious (which is probably why the store lets them be). This is the only 99 Cents Store I go to now even though others are closer.

Great store to find odds and ends. They sell groceries, candy, cards, hair accessories, all kinds of stuff for you home. Great store.

The thing that’s giving it 4 stars is how many items they carry that cost so much more than 99 cents. I know that they are more “quality” items than being worth 99 cents but I miss when the whole store was 99 cents only and meant it. I would rather have it go back to that, miss it a lot.

Sorry but i had changed my review from a 5 Star to a 1 Star!I had just found out that i had purchased 4 small cutting boards and was charged 1.99 for each of them!!!I went to go return them and waited in line at the register and the guy behind the register was very nice and professional. He told me that he could not give me a refund since the store policy for refunds where only 9 days.The guy behind the cashier told me hat he had to ask his manager and she said no. I requested to speak to her in person and so he called her over. She was Caucasian and with a very unprofessional moody attitude. No smile at all. Not a very good impression for the business and 99 Cents Only Stores.She told me right away. Sorry we cant cant refund the money due to our store policy, our return policy is you have to bring the item back within 9 days. I told her yes, I understand that. The problem that I am disputing is that,when i had bought the 4 cutting boards, i was inder the impression that they were 99 Cents Only!!! As your store says 99 Cents ONLY STORES!She (Manager) still said no and stood her ground with her very moody face. I told her to if I could exchange the items since I still had many items to purchase at the store.She said no as she turned her body around and left me standing there holding them items in my hand.Your store says 99 Cents Only Stores and I have always been a very LOYAL CUSTOMER.I bought those cutting boards with the understanding that they were 99 Cents Each!!! Not $1.99 each.I was just under the belief that the items were 99 Cents. Was able to pick up somewonderfulplay clothes for my girls so they could put on the own little concert for my wife and I. The skirt, jewlery, microphone, gloves and furry leggings. The also happened to have the summer clothing toys and pool accessories for only .25. Easy in and out and a wide variety of products, for home and kids food cleaning supplies, even pet products, some kitchen wares and even a huge selection of seasonal favorites.

Since theyve raised the minimum wage in California to $15 a hour things that were 99 cents has gone up to cover the cost of minimum wage. Ive noticed that they dont have things they had in the past. They dont carry cucumbers and some vegetables on a regular basis
