Shop there on a weekly basis for work, they always have what I need and the employees are eager and willing to help at all times.

Smaller than Home Depot however they have knowledgeable people.

They cut glass and plexiglass. Very useful!

I like buying local and I really like Stokes. Really good customer service, and a decent selection of goods. One of vary few places in local area; I prefer local over box stores.

Some prices may be kind of high on some items but I swear to you this is the only place you get through customer service from each employee Lowe’s, The Home Depot or any other hardware store never treat you the way you’re treated here

My Go-To hardware store for plumbing, they always seem to have in stock a little bit of everything. Have been coming here repeatedly since the freezing temperatures ended here in houston.

Everytime we go into this hardware store it never fails that we are followed around the store like Hurry up and buy!! Staff is rude af and their stuff is so old the clear packaging is yellow. They are overpriced and rude. They make it worth the drive to Home Depot or Lowes, this is always my last resort place for ANYTHING!! You get a much better deal and price down the street at the resale shops!!

Went here today to get 2 glass cut for 2 large frames. I was greeted warmly by a few employees but the gentleman cutting glass never, not once acknowledged me. I stood in his area, he saw me, he was helping one other customer for 20 minutes. Slow as molasses. I wanted to give my neighborhood mom-and-pop some business esp now during Covid19. But he never said anything like sorry for the wait, Ill be with you in a minute. Finally after finishing making ONE SINGLE CUT for the man ahead of me, he took a phone call in front of me. Still not even a hello. I walked out. Wont be back.

Always helpful, and have the neatest things you wouldnt ordinarily find at a hardware store. Wish there were more places around like this one.

Generally good service by the employees, I think. They try. Limited or just bad Service by the owner or manager. Ok, if you have an emergency plumbing issue, but don’t waste your time if you want paint, for example. Overpriced. Customer service very low priority.I wrote this several years ago. Since then, service has vastly improved and I love shopping here

$40 for a box 25 rounds of 9mm?! For that much you can go to academy and buy a 100 rounds with that. I don’t stay around here, I can drive to academy for a better price, but for people who can’t drive that far this is literally ripping off people in this neighborhood.

Great Old School Hardware Store. This is a great little local hardware store. Well, not exactly LITTLE. It is a full sized store. Little compared to the big orange box store that everyone is used to these days.The difference with Stokes is: service and knowledge. At Stokes, someone is available to help you with what you need. What is that little thingie that attaches to the other threaded thingie? They will actually help you figure it out!I have no idea what size o ring my faucets needs but this is the old one. They know where that replacement is. Outstanding.Do they have 50 types of the exact item with pallets stacked above it? No. But, do you need all those choices when you just want to stop your toilet bowl from running constantly? Not really.I go out of my way to give these guys my business when I am able as there are not many full service hardware stores like this around these days.Another thing I like is there is no judgement. Lets be honest here. I am no expert and I do not always know the proper terminology/names of things. Fixing things is simply not my job. I have been to some places where it feels like they give you a condescending smile when you dont know what things are called. Stokes is NOT like that at all. They help you and you never feel like they are rushing you.When I need something and dont want to have to search all day for an orange smock to help me find it, this is the place I go.If you happen to be on the North Side just inside the loop, give these guys a try.

It has good service, the employees are very friendly, they help you find what you need and that I like something, my purchases are fast and accurate.

In this place many of the times you find things that large stores do not have, and for those who make electricity and find an old box they have old breacks.

I went to that place and asked for a 4x4x10 lumber and they gave me a 4x4x8 lumber I bought 40 bars and until they were going to install them they told me they were 8 feet not 10 as I had asked them to pay them as if they were den10 feet. They take advantage because I am a woman and I do not calculate the measurements.
