Small, friendly shop with a good selection of games. Nice spaces to play games in-store.I purchased a game here, and after opening it, discovered a significant manufacturing issue. Certainly not the shops fault, but they stood behind it and offered a replacement. Good, courteous service, and they clearly value their customers.

Went in to buy some star realms expansions, sadly they did not have any, but they did have GREAT customer service! The man (I think his name was Luke) at the counter was very amicable and extremely HELPFUL! I saw they had other boardgames/expansions for other of the games I play. I will be going back.

Seems like a really cool place, but unfortunately I was sitting at the counter waiting to buy some dice while the person behind the counter apologized for the wait, but continued to check out other people. If you arent there for Magic, they dont care about you. They had some really cool dice and games, but I wont be heading there again. Thanks so much for the experience.

They have a lot of stuff to suit gamers needs. But be prepared to park on the street. Parking is limited, but I understand that is out of the companys hand.

Great store with a nice selection. Their staff was very nice and helpful. Looks like they catered to a wide variety of games and events in store, which is awesome. Nice to see that every hobby is being supported. Bright, clean, and inviting, just what every store should be like. They had some dedicated tabletop miniature game tables and a great selection on terrain to use while in store. Looks like they sold some adult beverages, I don’t drink but that might interest some people. I’d suggest taking an Uber or Lyft there, parking seemed difficult, but they may have had spots in the back we didn’t see. Overall, I’d recommend you stop by and start up a hobby there.

Very friendly staff and a fun place to go to play games. Their tester games are not yet available for play but they have a great selection of games to buy and you can take your own games in to play! The kids enjoyed it!

Good place to play boardgames. Their main focus is Magic the gathering but I went to play from their free to play boardgame selection that it was pretty good. They dont charge any fees to play in the store and all tables have mats on them making it very comfortable to play games. They have a bar where you can buy beer, soda or snacks. Sodas and snacks are usually $1 each. In regards food, the location of this store is great because it is surrounded with a lot of restaurants and they also allow you to get food delivered as long as is nothing that they sell at the store (drinks). In summary it is a great boardgame place, so far 3rd place on top places to play with friends (#1 Battlehops, #2 Tea + Victory)

First time to play MTG there... Kind of on the fence with the place... Dont hate it, Ill have to check it out a few more times to get a true feel

Im usually weary to go to game shops I dont frequent because more often than not the people behind the counter are standoffish or seem like they dont want to be there. This is not the case at Asgard at all. Staff is welcoming, helpful and quick to let you know of upcoming events and they really make an effort to include a casual like me. Stock is varied from TCGs, GamesWorkshop, DnD minis and peripherals to a plethora of cool boardgames for all budgets. Cant wait to have a beer here!

Wow! Love this place - seen it dozens of times walking around this part of Houston, and finally dropped in. Gorgeous interior, friendly welcoming staff (Luke made me feel right at home - good people), and at noon on a Sunday, there was a lively buzz of about 18-20 people gearing up for a Pokémon card game tournament or playing their own, other tabletop games.Terrific vibe, wide selection of products and tabletop games and interesting architecture/space. I love Asgard Games! Highly recommend 🤓

Not accessible and they dont care eitherEdit: The front drive is too steep for the majority of accessible vehicles. There is a rear ramp available, but when I asked about the side door I was basically told it was not an entry and would not be made available as one. Also the ramps are very narrow and the path around the side of the building is incredibly dangerous. Mostly it was the attitude of the person working when I brought up these concerns, which was a shoulder shrug with dismissive glance and a hollow sorry and no real intention to address the issue at all. As though disabled customers were not a concern to start.

I would definitely give 5 stars if they supported the Yu-Gi-Oh community! Great atmosphere, clean store, friendly staff! I take my uncle to the medical center every couple months and would love to stop by and grab some Yu-Gi-Oh Playing Cards and Accessories, and perhaps even duel someone, while my uncle is at the Dr... I feel like it is a missed opportunity for Asgard Games to not offer Yu-Gi-Oh support for the community, that aside, this is a great store for Magic the Gathering!

Incredible looking venue for card games and tabletop/board games. I’ve only been in twice but I had to post a review just from how amazing the store looked. Everything is organized and displayed neatly with plenty of room for people to sit down and play. Selection was pretty good and prices were fair. Definitely recommend.

This place is awesome! Great store for all things comicon, MTG, board games and other type stuff. The dudes that work here are super helpful and answered all of my beginner questions. My boys loved the place and want to host a party here when things return to normal. We will definitely be going back here for years to come.

Great spot with a huge selection of Magic, board games, Warhammer and D&D stuffs. Tons of tables for games and Warhammer and outside of the pandemic lots of cool fun events. The bar is very nice touch!

Guy behind counter seems slow like he didnt want to be there and when I bought couple of stuff and was checking out my total was $47.61 and change was $12.39 told me he didnt have the .39 cent just 12 dollar I wasnt too happy I knw its 39 cent but come on you could of round it to nearest dollar and when I ask him the second time he was annoyed he had to repeat it again

Very empty at the moment. But they definitely dont lack in the customer service. Quality is definitely there. I was referred and drover from Webster Texas. Definitely worth it. I just hope they are able to begin their events again.

Kinda small and definitely has that gamer funk. Would rather sell 3.99 worth of Pokemon cards instead of 150 dollars worth of other stuff. Cashier just stood talking to a guy for 10 minutes. Amazon will get my money.

Very friendly staff, clean facilities, and a good product selection of board games, tabletop, minis, and board games! This is the only place in Houston I go for my gaming needs. Cant wait until they reopen for events!

The staff are both polite and knowledgeable. The owner has set up various services within the store that make the space both inviting and enjoyable. All this combined with an excellent inventory to select from means I will definitely be a return customer as well as highly recommending this for my friends.

The place is nifty but the parking area need to be expanded due to limited of parking spots.

Great place to shop for board games, Magic and pokemon cards, Warhammer, DnD and more. Fun and inviting draft atmosphere. With Covid all drafts and in person tournaments are on hold. They do have Arena tournaments: Wednesday and Friday nights. Love this place. All the employees are really helpful and kind. The store discord is pretty funny, especially the trades channel.

The best gaming shop for MTG, Miniatures, and board games in Houston. Period. The staff are perfect and will go out of their way to accommodate you. If you like playing MTG or games in general, but you don’t necessarily fit into the scene somewhere else, you’ll fit in more than fine here, as they are incredibly inclusive and welcoming to all human-types.

Definitely a place to go play games with friends. They have a lot of tables which were all filled with people playing board, strategy, card and fantasy games. Looks like a place where one could really enjoy their time.

Awesome experience at Asgard Games! They were super respectful of the risk of Covid and performed a seamless contactless pickup a week after the stay-at-home order expired in Texas. They were also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the games. In addition, the games they had were much cheaper than what I could find online. I will definitely shop here again!

I always feel welcome to come in, grab a game and play. It’s good for all ages too - I brought my 70s age grandparents and they couldn’t stop raving about how fun the games were and how nice the store is. Definitely got some repeat customers!I don’t know what’s wrong with the people who say the place is “funky” smelling but if you smell poop wherever you go, you should look under your own shoe.

Great clean place, large open area vertically making the area feel very unclaustrophobic, everyone felt very approachable unlike many game shops. If you ever feel like MTG players need to shower more often come here everyone was friendly and clean as well.

A great place for gaming. The hours are a bit limited. We found it odd that they shut down at 10 pm on Saturday. They have their reasons, Im sure, but it cut our gaming short. Also, parking is very limited. Otherwise, the selection is good, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. A pleasant gaming experience.

Really cool place. We brought our own board game in. They didnt have a problem with it, played for about 2 hours. Got a couple beers at bar. Was a fun relaxing time. They have a very nice selection of board games and accessories. Highly recommended.

Love this place. I travel a lot throughout the United States and usually check out the local hobby stores when I do. Im glad to have a place like Asgard Games here in Houston. Especially at such a great location. The staff is wonderful and the store is one of the best.

Asgard has got it right. The whole atmosphere was awesome and the staff were super friendly. I recommend this place for playing a game or four or five. Time flies. My partner and I spent two hours here playing games and didnt feel rushed or anxious about being there playing games. The free play tables are separate from the other players which helps everyone feel less rushed or anxious about being in anyones way. Super excellent time! Thanks Asgard!

Im so glad this place exists! Our friends highly recommended it and we came to check it out. Its clean, spacious, and the staff is super friendly. We sat down and played some card games while having few drinks from the mini-bar. Ended up buying 3 board games and 1 card set. Well definitely return!

I am a 51 yr old mother looking for the board game, Jim Hensons Labyrinth game board. On line was sold out or over $100.00 for. Just happen to come across this place, first time. I hit the JACK POT they just ordered it and came in same day i called. Really prayed for this and prayer was answered. God is good and so is this place. It is the BOMB...Mr. Will i see that some people have to put a negative review to your business. You have a beautiful nice clean place. There is nothing wrong with your parking. People just need more experience to park. Your customer assistance was knowledgeable for a game store not a doctor office. Your employees there are young adults or youths. Been here handful of times with my friends. Played DnD and then Magic.Great friendly environment. People come in and play the games they enjoy. Excellent store, that goes above and beyond for their customers. The owner personally came out to help us back out (truck in small parking spot), and even blocked traffic to ensure we could make it out.They buy for good prices and are the best experience Ive had with selling and buying mtg singles.They also have an amazing selection of board games, cards and the space is awesome.

My friend tried to purchase cards but the employee was “too busy” playing a game. My friend then decided to purchase those cards from a second friend. All of a sudden, that employee now feels the need to go over and tell him that he can’t do that and that even though he didn’t know the rules, that he’d be banned for a week. So he was too busy to do his job but not busy to snoop. This is completely unprofessional and left a poor impression on this shop.

First time in the store and definitely not my last. Luke was super helpful, patient and polite to everybody who walked in and out. When I was finished, I walked out in a great mood with my mtg cards.

A cozy, relaxed gaming shop with everything from Magic the Gathering to tabletop wargames to pen and paper. They have an official Friday Night Magic draft tournament every Friday, and some kind of Magic competition any other weeknight. The patrons are welcoming and the bar is well stocked with good, reasonably priced beer. I had been to Asgard before it moved to this location, and they have definitely raised the bar for a solid game shop. Highly recommended!

I regularly come to this store for my games. They have a good selection for the games they specialize in and the built in bar with a great selection of beer and cider is a great addition to help heal the wounds of loosing at Blood Bowl. The only real nagatives are that they only really are well stocked for a limited number of games that are popular at this store and there is almost never enough parking. Otherwise I highly recommend.

Went to browse around for board games and was trying to find someone to ask for help, waited to see if anyone would help me and after about 10 minutes someone pop their head up from one of the tables playing Magic the Gathering and not getting up asked me if I needed anything. I dont know if employees are allowed to game on company time but thats what lost my business.

Asgard is a great place to play Magic. They have regular tournaments and even play Legacy twice a week. Plus, a beer bar in the back. Doesnt get better.

If you are looking for a local game store in Houston, this is it. The turnout for events is always the best... and their selection of what you are looking for is probably the best in the city... not to mention they also have the nicest facility in the city. The only downside is that they are priced on the more expensive side of the scale far as hobby game stores go. In the end its justified because you are paying for quality, event turnout and product selection.
