The staff was so personal and welcoming from the entrance to being served at the table. It seemed like a real good case of team work making the dream work. My glass was never empty, and the calmness of the staff while serving us made their work look effortless. Their clean routines made the dining area look spotless after the room had been filled an hour before with brunch goers. I was shocked that they had a vegan option and that it was so delicious and plated well too.Definitely a must try spot.

A super dope experience! I had brunch at Upper Kirby Bistro and ordered the Soulful Plate which featured a little bit of everything! The food came quick and was piping hot! I was so pleased with how tasty everything was and Alisa, the bartender was just perfection! The music was right, the food was AMAZING, and the service was better. Shout out to black excellence! 🙌🏾🤎

My wife and I went to upper Kirby bistro for dinner and ordered the seafood cake for an appetizer, I ordered Fannie Mae fried chicken for dinner and she ordered the pork chop. The sides for our meals were greens, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. The Buffalo sauce for the fried chicken was kickin too! Everything was delicious and I highly recommend this place.

The food was amazing - the mac&chz and jerk chicken with plantains was my favorite dish!And to top it off they gave my line sister a free dessert for her birthday ☺️.The manager was very proactive in asking everyone including my table how we were enjoying our dinner - we are definitely going back!

The food was good, our waitress was great! We were barely greeted when we walked in. The woman in front was “busy” but instead of saying someone will be right with you we just stood there until someone else came to properly greet and seat us.

I attended a Birthday Party at Five Central. To my surprise it was a great venue, very friendly in appearance and had an assortment of locations in one complex to be entertained. I will be coming back.

Been twice a Friday evening and Sunday Brunch the place is now definitely one of my favorites. The ambience and atmosphere is second to none. You can choose to sit inside or in the courtyard. The restaurant is OK but I didnt go for the food! If you want a night out with friends or just out for a drink at the bar this is your place. Amazing Black owned establishment! Love the red room! So cool so friendly, age range 30s. Tip, forget the valet theres plenty street parking one or two blocks away.

I visited Houston this past week and we went here and had A GREAT TIME. The wings, music, drinks, and atmosphere was A VIBE! Chicago was in the building too. Great time. I would go back on another visit.

Great place for whatever you are looking for. The atmosphere was nice and the food was very delicious. We ordered the oxtails with grits and the chicken and waffles. I highly reccomend going here for food, drinks, or to just relax. I will definitely be going back.

One of the best spots in Houston! The food is great! The drinks are strong! I fell in love with the ambience. So they call this place 5 Central because there are five different rooms throughout the establishment, and each room gives you a different vibe. There are three dining areas, theres a bar in each room, theres a wine cellar, and there is a cigar lounge upstairs. They have hookah and valet parking. But I wouldnt recommend paying the $20 to valet because there is a parking garage within walking distance of the restaurant. This place is a definite must visit. Oh and last but not least, the staff has stellar customer service. each person who approached me that worked in this restaurant was so nice. I hope this black owned restaurant stays around for a while because it is definitely a hidden gem.

I absolutely loved the customer service from my waitress Jayda. She was very attentive to ALL of her tables and made sure that we were comfortable, our drinks stayed full, and that we were satisfied with out food. I would definitely come back and recommend this to anyone who wants a nice brunch with a significant other or a group of friends. Hookah is also offered here too. The food was absolutely great too.

Disappointed with parking. I had my 90 year old mother I parked in front and asked the valet could I park in the spot. He said yes. Came out i had a ticket. I even said if not i can valet he said no you are good. So now instead of paying 20 for valet i have a $105 ticket for being too close to fire hydrant. I was behind the rails and I thought far from the hydrant. And even at that you would think the valet would have said something. I got the manager but she just looked and she even said you are behind the mark for the hydrant but of course she makes it known she has nothing to do with valet. So I leave with paying over $200 for our food and a $105 ticket..

Stepped out into the apocalypse for date night, and had to do it at a black-owned business. @upperkirbybistro exceeded our expectations in food, music, and hospitality (we were checked on multiple times by the owners and were even given a tour of the 17,000 sq ft, multi-lounge establishment). The curry roasted chicken and Fannie Maes fried chicken were so delicious I was thinking about them still the next day. Thank you for an amazing evening! We will most definitely be back!

Went there for a gathering for a family member birthday. We did outdoor seating because we knew we wanted to do hookah. However, we didnt think it would be as cool as it was and then the area was very shaded. So we requested if they could move a heater closer to us because they had maybe 3 or 4 outside but none were on. It was a bit of back and forth because they stated they were out of propane . Eventually propane was located and we got our heater. Food and drink were all good. No complaints..... Now we did move over to the lounge area and our waitress was able to find us somewhere to sit. I dont know if the bartenders only service the people that had reserved sections but no one ever came to ask if we wanted something to drink or anything. Two of my people went up to the bar and they stood there for a minute and not one bartender approached them. But we noticed whenever a guy came to the bar they were approached with the quickness. So its safe to say I would not visit their lounge area again but the restaurant I will for sure . Service level in the lounge is very poor.

This was my first visit there and I have to say I will definitely be back. I went early evening and stayed until it was about to get turned up. Food was very good I tried one of the prefixes, appetizer,entree and dessert. The only real issue I had, which is not truly a negative was my food coming out to close together. I felt almost rushed through my meal. I was not able to request my ice cream on the side of the delicious peach cobbler so I could not really enjoy it like I wanted to. Or I would have like the option to take it to go. Moral of my story is next time Ill probably start with dessert first. Looking forward to going back and exploring the different rooms available too

On Saturday July 24, 2021, we arrived a little before 8oclock my sister, Pam and I. We had had a few cocktails and decided to order something to eat while waiting for the band to begin playing in the Red Room. We placed our order for the curry chicken wings and bistro fries at approx. 9 oclock. At about 9:40 we inquired about our food order, which arrived around 9:55 with cold fries and lukewarm wings. Needless to say, we requested hot food and returned the order. Another 30 minutes passed, and we decided to request a manager. The manager arrives at our table with latex gloves on stating he would check on our order later, he was cleaning the restrooms. He went on to say they had a large party of 75 in attendance which was the reason for the back orders. Another 20 minutes passed before the food arrives.... now with lukewarm fries and cold to touch wings. The band starts to play....at this time its about 10:40. We again requests the manager. The same manage from earlier (cleaning the restrooms) offered no apology for the cold food, just that theyre busy with the party of 75. Therefore, we requested a refund; at which time, the manager had the audacity to say HE WOULD NEED TO TAKE AND RETURN THE COLD FOOD ORDER if we requests a refund. Conversely, the cold wings and fries were returned, a refund was issued, leaving this establishment at 10:55 pm.

It was my 1st time ever going there but omg I love it. I will tell my friends about this place. I will b back.

Had the chicken and waffles along with the mango mimosa.The wings needed to be fried more they were tough to pull apart and they were bland.Waffles were blah they need more of a pop to them not just something that i can make in my waffle maker after mixing batter out the grocery store.This place has so much potential but they need to step it up a notch with the flavors.Also, the music selection didn’t fit the crowd they were playing club dance music at 11am with an older crowd my suggestion is they should be playing R&B that a sophisticated grown crowd can groove to.

The atmosphere was mostly good. The food was decent - Id give it a 7. Arrived early evening and it was already crowded, but was able to get a corner table in the Red Room. It soon got crowded which became a bit intrusive in these days of COVID. No masks were being worn by staff or patrons. (It aint over yet yall.) There was a really good live band. The drinks were okay but pricey ($15 for a frozen margarita is a little much.) Parking was $20. Overall I give it a 7/10. Will try it again.

Five Central is a rip off from the parking charging different prices till they rushing you to leave before your food can come to the table. First off when one of my party guess pulled up to Valet and asked about parking they quoted them $40.00. One of my other guess was quoted $20.00 no one mentioned anything about a VIP. I asked for a handicap parking space and I was told they ony had one and it was filled already and I could park down the street. I was at my reservations on time and my party and I had just ordered our food when I was informed that we had to be out of the room in less than 30 minutes. When I made the reservations the planner didnt mention that we had only 2 hrs. in the room when the reservations was made.

I stopped in grabbed two mimosas with my best friend the receipt stated $24 for two drinks I woke up today and I was charged $60 beware everyone be sure to check your account when you leave this place shady business

Wouldnt recommend during covid because there is no possible way to distance and nobody is masking. But pre/post covid its the place to be. Great people,music,service, food, and sooo many options.

First time visiting here from Dallas, and I will come back for the live music only. Food is overpriced! Collard greens were burnt mashed potatoes old, chicken not better then Popeyes lol for $24. HOWEVER, hostess, waitress, and staff very friendly and accommodating, live music was very good, drinks were pricey for the small cups but strong. So eat somewhere else and come early around 8 for entertainment. Food not matching up with the price honest and serious review.

Be prepared to wait a mighty long time for your food to arrive. I was here with a friend and ordered the pasta & fried chicken. After a 45 minute wait, my friends food came out 1st & my pasta was still not ready. How do you serve 1 person their food & expect them to eat while the other party waits? If I could give 0 stars I would.

Had just really enjoyed the live music. The food, absolutely amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything you order. The environment was nice. So the one thing I had a slight issue with is the price of the drinks. I ordered Hennessy straight up. That was $16. However they poured more than a shot. I didn’t ask for more than a shot, so don’t understand the price. Other than that, I truly enjoyed myself and will definitely go back!!

We received excellent service and accommodations from the Valet, to the Hostess, and Beautiful Toshairra who sealed our wonderful experience while dining. Toshairra was on point, very professional, very meticulous, and very attentive ensuring our drinks and meal were to our satisfaction, which allowed my brother and I to have a wonderful experience at 5 Central. This concept is great and I enjoy myself when I come EXCEPT for the restaurant! My family had birthday dinner reservations on a Saturday evening. More people showed up expected. Angelica was our waitress and was ok with us using chairs from another closed section of the area. However, there was not enough table room. Angelica said that the additional guests could sit over there in the corner on the black couch. WTH!! Absolutely not! These were patrons that were spending money on food and drinks. So just like we did with the chairs, we pulled one table from the closed side. This is when Angelica became unhinged and started speaking loudly no, you cant do that. That side is closed and you cant do that. I squeezed you in on this reservation and now its more than expected. We dont even take reservations on Saturdays when we have a birthday party going on upstairs. So I asked, what harm would it do if we use one table from a closed section. We are not asking to open the section, we want to just use one table for patrons who are about to spend money. She went on another rampage saying you cant do that. We may need to take these tables upstairs to the birthday party if they need them Note, there were 3-4 empty tables left and none were ever used that night. I asked the same question again. She then waived her hand and said whatever and walked off. The embarrassment!!! I tried to speak to her a couple of times and she continued to brush me off. I finally had to just stop her and apologize for having 4 more people at the birthday party than expected. This is something I should not have had to do. This is absolutely poor customer service with an attitude and lack of vision of the larger goal. This experience made me want to explore other establishments. I love supporting black owned businesses. However, I was so disappointed in this. On the flip side, we had another family event at a non-black owned business this past Saturday. Reservations were for 25. Ten additional people showed up. The staff was understanding and more than accommodating. They understood the bigger picture and the greater goal. Now confirming the differences, I am not sure if I am as enthused to visit Five Central again.

Great experience. The staff could be a little more organized and attentive, but I wont hold that against them. Great food. The crawfish rice was great. I typically dont like salmon well done, but they seasoned it perfectly and it wasnt over seasoned. The atmosphere is also very nice.

Never have I seen a location that has 5 star attractions: Restaurant, Bar, Wine lounge, Cigar lounge, and social club.For grown folks, this IS the place to visit.I highly recommend !!! and I must say the food I tasted is 5 stars. Check it out!!

Lawwwd!!! This food was on point. Tasted all of my friend’s food as well and everything was amazing. We had brunch (oxtail grits, stuffed blueberry waffle, shrimp grits, and fried chicken). Do I need to say more? On top of that, the service was amazing. The owner even came by and introduced himself. Very friendly and kind people. Thanks!!!

Parking lot was packed but bc of so many venues you never feel like its overcrowded. I do feel as though the bar staff could be quicker but overall the place was top notch. I give them the EJ Stamp of Approval.

We had a great time here for my sister`s 40th birthday. They played great music, the food is different but tasty and they even gave my sister a complementary bottle of Rose. The only reason I did not give a 5-star was because our waiter took a long time to check on us periodically. And we waited a while for our food and was never given silverware to eat with, which once asked for, took forever to come. I would go back though.
