Ordered some doors and gave them the size that I needed and they told me they would give me a call before delivering, I had to call them to in order for them to deliver even after it was already scheduled. The delivery guys didnt call me until they showed up and also lied to my customer about size of doors, once I had seen the doors they were the wrong size and detering denied making new doors and taking responsibility for their mistake, and wanted to charge me for new doors. I will no longer do buisness with them as they can NOT be trusted.

Was really disappointed with The Detering Co. we ordered material on a cash account where the mark up is much higher and shipping is higher if you had an account. We were promised a am run and never got our order. Called the shipping manager to get a update status which he never did call back. So now I have to lose money because this company failed to do ship a product on time as promised.

Ordered a custom door for my home office about two years. Door had to be custom made sue to size of opening, Got door and installed have some questions about construction of door with regard to bottom but accepted that it was good. I sealed it and so far it is Ok. in about 60 to 90 days the blind control broke took four to six months to get is fixed.It worked for tow to three weeks that was about six to eight months ago call salesman and told it would be taken care of..Now salesman does not return my calls. I will now install a new glass insert in the door at my expense and never use Detering again.

We have worked with Detering for over 10 years now. Our sales rep Cliff is very knowledgeable, hard working and prompt in his communication. We are very happy with the products that we receive. If there is ever a problem they are quick to make it right.

Good quality, good prices but the People that take your order on the phone always make mistakes, Sometimes one part of material Arrives one day and the other half another day... sometimes not even that So you have to call back and Do the order all over again.Real Unprofessional.

Plenty of lumber, doors, building and related products here. The warehouse / shipping and receiving team are great to work with. Our company delivers to them regularly and have had nothing but a great experience.

They have good quality and are more then helpful in the beginning. They dont give you an exact date or time when things will be delivered for example, I was out of town and I get a call 1 hour prior to delivery. I scrambled to get someone to take delivery of the doors and trim. Some doors were damaged, mainly the casings and headers on the doors. The delivery guys were moving the doors around holding on to the trim so thats how one broke. Now Ive been trying to get a hold of someone for the past week and a half to no avail. Sometimes some one answers then hang up the phone right away as to not take the call. Ill move on to another company with better customer service. Ive called Liz many times with no call back.

Their motto is Right and On Time, Everytime but it really should be Dust Yourself Off and Try Again because it takes them two or three tries until they finally get your order correct! I strongly believe this company is racist. They have no outside sales representatives that are Spanish speaking. If you want someone who speaks Spanish you have to go to the actual location to talk to someone. Dont even bother calling them. Youll be on hold for at least 20 minutes and you will never get a call back.

My dad and I came here for the first time about two weeks ago to order material for a house he is building, the lady in the front and the brick lady were super sweet and escorted me back to the sales desk but once I got there it was a completely different vibe. No one greeted me the lady looked at me and got back on her phone and the two guys just kept laughing i don’t know if it was cause we looked lost or what so finally we just asked for help and one of the guys asked “what can I help you with” so finally we were helped once we were walking out a lady was walking out of her office we didn’t know how to find our way back out so I was going to ask her but she looked at me up and down like if she was disgusted or something. Finally I found the lady that first took me to the sales desk and I asked her whose office it was and if I’m not mistaking it was Tory or Tania or something with a T. I explained my experience that I had with the lady in the front and she just apologized even though it wasn’t even her fault and asked if I would like to speak with the manager, she exainlained that the managers would take my situation seriously but at this point I was over the dirty looks so I just told her no thank you. Over all it was just a weird experience, being a Hispanic family and my dad not knowing English we just got a such a weird feeling being here and I know my dad felt uncomfortable, I don’t think we will be returning.

Not sure why no one can answer the phone. We had a custom door made and had an incredibly hard time trying to get anyone on the phone. Like one of the previous posters said, they pick up the phone then hang it up. This happened to us a for almost 2 weeks trying to get someone on the phone. No return calls when you leave a message (if you can get someone to answer - which is rare) No email response etc. not sure whats going on there but I will not be recommending them to anyone. Terrible customer service
