Truly professional experience. The guys at MAC worked flawlessly with my insurance and communicated with me exactly what was going to be performed. They made suggestions that were safety-based, didn’t try to sell me unnecessary parts. They were honest, open, communicative, professional, and attentive. I am grateful to especially Sam because he made a stressful situation much more bearable.
David at this place is AWESOME. Originally, I was going to have to wait three weeks for repairs due to a microchip shortage essential to the part needed for replacement. David went above and beyond, finding the part in Wisconsin, of all places, which he had overnighted to Houston. I saved hundreds of dollars in rent car costs, and the price of multiple repairs on my SUV was much less than I expected. They have my business forever! Can’t recommend them highly enough. They are a blessing.
This was my first time using Montrose Automotive after driving past it for years. They were fantastic! They got to my 21 year old truck quickly and repaired it well. First attempt did not fix a/c, but they were quick to dig deeper and get me back on the road ASAP. I would certainly use Montrose Automotive again. Seth, David & Joseph we’re all great! The work was extremely expensive partly as the mechanic broke something and I had to pay for it. Original price was $1100 but they took it down to $950. This is still expensive considering you can buy an aftermarket bearing for $90 and a good mechanic will fit it in 2 hours without damaging anything else!
I went to get 2 new tires. And rotate the other two. I mark my tired to insure They’ll be new. So they took my car. And came back. I left satisfied. Later at home I realized it was the same tires I came with. And when I took it back they told me I was lying. But I had my marks on each tire. When I shower proof they redid it for free. DO NOT TRUST THEM. WATCH THEM WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE.
Montrose Automotive is timely and by far the best place Ive gone to in Houston to get work done on my car. The staff is direct, nice, and the waiting area is more pleasant than most places. Every time Ive tried another place Ive regretted it. Ive also found Montrose Automotive to be trustworthy and knowledgeable about thier work. They clearly care, and do a great job.
David and Seth at Montrose Automotive are absolutely world class. They went above and beyond without hesitation. Plus they were patient while we waited 2 days for insurance to even get the car to their shop, and still made my car a priority. I can’t thank them enough for all their help.

They were really nice at the beginning, I was taking my car here for months. But at my last visit they told me that my brakes have to be changed for 800$. It sounded fishy, especially that the car was completely checked just a few days before. So I had my brakes checked elsewhere just to find out that theyre completely fine. Despite my trust they tried to screw me over. Very disappointed.
I went there because of a flat tire. Even though it was only 60 minutes until closing, they located a replacement nearby, fetched it, and installed it. All the staff were courteous and efficient.
I went to have my car checked twice, paid about $150 +/- each time and didnt even get diagnosed correctly. I went to 2 different mechanics that diagnosed it in less than 15 min. I will not be going back to this place. They only took my money and did not help me.

Amazing service! I cant say enough about what a great experience I had with this shop. I got towed in at 7pm on Friday and they had me back up and running by lunch on Saturday. Im an out of towner that they could have completely taken advantage of but they treated me like I lived next door. We had the front left rotor and caliper replaced with the pad and a hose and a brake flush and Total parts came to 266 and labor $485. At the most it was 2 hours of work and labor cost at $92 an hour and yet there is a labor charge of $485. Very disappointed

I was greeted very nicely by David when I stopped by for an estimate. I had my car towed in the next day. My only complaint is that once my car got there the initial estimate of $528, went up to $721. Shoulda got it in writing. I am pleased with the work, however, and the cost to replace the starter on my ‘08 Infinity fell within the range of posted repair costs on the internet.
Days after some repair work at Montrose Automotive, our car began rapidly losing coolant to the point of overheating. When we brought it into another shop in the area, we were told that he’d found glue on the radiator. Indicating that someone had damaged the radiator and then quick-fixed it with glue so we’d drive it home without realizing. We know it could only have been Montrose Automotive because we hadn’t taken it anywhere else since moving to the city two years ago. It’s so unethical and disappointing. If they’d just told us what happened, we could have dealt with it rather than having to pay to repair the cracked radiator, and the further damage from overheating. I’ve never had such a terrible experience with a mechanic. There’s no excuse for this level of dishonesty. Please do not bring your car here.

I was having issues with a 96 Jeep (a car some shops outright admitted they could not work on) for months.They diagnosed and repaired it in 24 hours. Very professional, honest, and worth every penny. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
I lived around down the block so I would get my regular oil changed here. Then the last time I took it the bald old guy told me that I need a new oil pan because the plug was damaged probably by the last people that did my oil. I was perplexed as they where the only ones to change my oil in the last two years every 5,000 miles. They made me buy a new pan that they damaged by over tightening the plug. Never going back I’ll change my own oil.
They were professional and they did the work in a very timely manner starting with ordering a part to completing the work the same morning that the part arrived..........

I found Montrose Automotive via google when I found out I had a nail in my tire. They were quick and easy to work with. They did a great job and returned to them the next time I got a nail in my tire (guess I’m lucky that way) and had the same great experience!
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!I went in for a hvac diagnostic (~$93). They quoted me at $84 to replace the blend actuator and $184 in labor. The actuator is available for $37 at autozone. After researching online I inspected the situation myself. The blend actuator WAS NOT PLUGGED IN. I am beyond irate. There are no words for the rage I feel for people who CONTINUOUSLY rip off women simply because we have less experience in this field. I plugged the actuator in, and what do you know? MY HEATING AND AC WORK. FINE. The AUDACITY of such blatant lies is infuriating. -5 stars from me for lying AND trying to take my hard earned money. How offensive can you be!?
Had a great experience and with this place, I took my BMW here for a alternator change, they had it way faster than all the other shops around, the staff they had were very nice and were very knowledgeable and experienced, plus the prices were very reasonable for the work being done, A++ in all categories, I will be using them a lot more in the future, I recommend this automotive center to everyone and anyone,keep up the good work. !
I called with a slow air leak. I asked when he could take me in, he responded that he could help me any time I got thereHe greeted me by name and I had never met him.In about 20 minutes my tire was repaired at the cost was 20$. Was expecting a lot more.I will recommend them to everyone!

The service here is unparalleled, they have such amazing customer service, their lobby/waiting area is clean, they have water bottles if you need, clean bathroom. they patched up my tire that had a nail in it and switched the spare out in no time! They even put the spare back in place in its little compartment in the trunk! Went to get 4 tires and an oil change. Quoted $800 for tires and service, 1000$ for everything. We said no to the tires and that’d we come get our car (an hour and a half later because they apparently can’t do an oil change quickly). Came by, he “helped us out” by putting a plug in one of our tires for 20$. We had told him not to touch the tires and that we were going elsewhere to get them replaced, but he wanted to gouge us anyway (It wasn’t entirely flat and he never mentioned a plug). We went to discount tires. Tires plus service was 390$. Top it off, we are in the middle of the pandemic and he was not wearing a mask. His employees were, but not the owner. He sees a lot of people everyday. Terrible service, high prices. Go someplace else.

Took my car to get the tire pressure checked and see if the tires needed to be changed. They said the tires still had life left and didn’t charge me anything. Great staff and you can trust them with their recommendations.
FANTASTIC service. I brought my car in to diagnose an issue and was quickly told the issue and the price of service. I was hesitant due to funds but was reassured that there is no pressure, but they would order the parts for me just in case. I was told that there is no obligation to buying the parts, but just in case. I said yes to service and they had my car ready to go in less than 24 hours. I am super impressed with this place and would definitely recommend and return myself

My car was broken into and the back window was shattered. They were able to get me in the same day, get the special glass my car needs by going directly to the dealership to personally pick it up, and offered to give me a ride to work! They finished the car within the same day, did quality work, and did this all for about $400 less than the dealership. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area!

I had to bring my car into a shop after hitting a curb from trying to avoid a driver lane changing into me. Alignment was clearly off but I knew the problem was much more serious right away. I went to Montrose Automotive because they were nearby. They quoted me $2600 for the replacement of both front control arms. I kindly paid them about $100 for this diagnosis and took my car to a Brake Check in Sugar land. They were able to do that replacement for me along with a lifetime realignment and turning the front rotors for $1100. Needless to say an extra $1500 is totally ridiculous. Be careful here they are very likely to try and take advantage of you if they think you dont know any better.
The service was fast, friendly, and quick. When I walked in they squeezed me in before closing. The price was bit on the higher side. The service was great though.
Had a flat the day I moved my granddaughter into a new house. She’s 7 months pregnant. The folks at Montrose Automotive were amazing. They had the spare on and we were on our way within 30 minutes. Took excellent care of us. Would definitely go there again.

Very competitive - good labor rates and marginal profit from parts. Furthermore their repair solution was complete and with full warranty.They committed to deliver next day end of business and held that promise. Upon receipt and inspection, I have no complaints on workmanship or performance.Summary: good price, firm delivery, good workmanship and performance = 5 stars.

FIRST TIME CUSTOMER, and THE BEST SERVICE IVE FOUND IN YEARSI have a 2007 Grey Chevy Tahoe. It had been oddly jerking for a while when driving on the road and one morning on the way to work my car’s engine light was on and was extremely jerky, so I drove under the speed limit because I was worried I would over-work the car. When I got to work I smelled a foul odor under the car hood and didn’t dare to lift it up. I told my co-worker that I was nervous that my car wouldn’t make it home after I got off and she referred me to Montrose Automotive Center. She’s been going for years for everything. I took a leap of faith and went over right after work and thank God it was within 5-miles given the condition of my Tahoe. I didn’t have to wait long for a diagnostic where the representative told me that the reason there is a reduction in my Tahoe’s performance was because of back pressure, which is affecting the running of my engine and stop it from breathing, which indicated the jerking that I had been experiencing with my car. I was offered same-day repair service and 3 hours later my car was revived again! I felt freedom on the road again and the nasty smell was gone. The performance after felt completely different. I will be going back to Montrose Automotive Center for every other car concern I have. I recommend Montrose Automotive Center to everyone.
This place is terrific. Weve been coming here for years and continue to do so because they are actually kind and honest people. They really work with you and as a women especially, its nice to not be talked down to like you get at some other places.

His bubbly, optimistic attitude and professionalism are impeccable......he thought ahead with me and kept my wheel so they could install the tire on the wheel (when it was delivered) as to minimize my time at the center. The white-headed guy who also sits at the front desk never got up from his chair to look at my issue AND he had ordered the wrong tire.....THANKS to David for making my situation right!!

I have paid a large amount of money ($2000) to fix the rattling in the front and rear end ($500), yet it is still rattling. They keep suggesting lets try this (more large amounts of money) they can not pen point the problem. The noise is clearly obvious yet they keep saying there is nothing wrong.Yet they are still the best shop by far. Their customer service is excellent. Would highly recommend
People here are friendly and the service is fast. They are won’t cut you a discount just because the work is extremely simple but that’s life. I would go here again if I needed to and wouldn’t feel bad about recommending it. Other family members really like this place and might award them 5 stars but I have mechanics elsewhere around Houston who i swear by. I’ve only been here once.

Update: 7/25/2020-The owner got in touch with me and apologized for the poor service that I received from Paul and after speaking with him I would go back to Montrose Automotive again.JuneLet me start by saying that I have been reluctant to go back to this shop because about 6 yrs ago they tried to send me home with the same tires that I drove in there with after I had purchased 4 brand new ones from them. It was not until I showed David pictures of my original tires (which were still on the vehicle) that he then agreed to put the new tires that I was charged for on my car. If it were up to David (and I had not come back inside the shop, then continued to insist that he give me the tires that I paid for) I might have left with my original tires (which were shredded to. bits) that day. David tried to make it right and offered me discounted oil changes after a free one. The location is convenient and the mechanics are always very professional and nice so I gave them another chance even though they tend to quote me slightly higher prices than the dealership. After the way I was treated by Paul on Saturday however, I will never return to Montrose Automotive Center ever again.Paul was incredibly rude and tried to shoo me out of the store when I tried to address that they 1.) had given us someone elses keys (including that individuals house keys), 2.) did not ask for any identification from my wife when she picked up my car, 3.) had given us a receipt with someone elses car on it, 4.) left my car unlocked on the street.Was it racially motivated (I am a queer person of color)? I do not know, but Paul failed miserably at the basics of customer service today. He blamed my wife for his mistake (the keys and receipt) and then blew me off when I returned the next day for my correct receipt with questions regarding my account. I am waiting to hear back from the owner Ibraham, but until I do I have told everyone that I know not to go to Montrose Automotive Center. Paul could have easily apologized and assured us that it would not happen again. Sadly, he decided not to do this and actively chose to lose a customer of 6 yrs. At one point he even raised his voice at me when I said all he had to have done was apologize.Pauls customer service was awful and Davids was ok at best. Ibraham, your mechanics do great work, it is a shame that the front of house is not providing as great of a service as the back. Customers beware. I would go across town before I have to deal with Paul again.Thank you for your time.
If only I could give zero star! I took my Lexus for alignment, they told me they couldn’t align it because there are parts in my car that needed to be changed! They charge me $95 anyway!! They asked me for $2500 to repair my car and then align it! I didn’t trust them and took my car to the dealership to check and see why my car needs this major repair! They checked it several times and nothing was wrong! Alignment done and everything is alright now.It shouldn’t be hard to say, sorry we don’t know how to align your car, take it somewhere else! Instead they changed me for not doing anything!

They have solved both small and large problems for me.When I needed new break pads, they replaced my old ones at a very fair price (based upon my own research and inquiries).Later, when I was hit by another driver who caused $10k in damages to my car, Montrose Automotive did all the body work. My car looks brand new.Additionally, their customer service is amazing. David is particularly friendly. The body work to my car was finished while I was out of town, and Davidcreturbed my car to my nearby apartment building before I returned home.This is friendly, neighborhood talent at its best. I could not recommend them more.
I came into montrose automotive about a year ago with my 2006 BMW and these guys were great. As a young woman Im constantly weary that body shops might try and take advantage of my potential lack of car knowledge and what an honest and fair deal is but these guys were great. Honest, professional and efficient! Highly recommend. Quick it up guys.
A few days ago my (2nd car )wouldn’t start. So I drove to Montrose Auto, after talking to them, picked up an employee of Montrose Automotive, brought him to my house, he boosted the car and drove it back to their shop...a few blocks away. Shortly after I got a call saying that I needed a new battery because the one in my car was old and needed to be replaced. so I agreed to have them replace it with one of their new batteries, after finding out the total cost. I left the car there and walked back home. (Short distance) When I got back home, later that evening while talking with my brother he reminded me that I had replaced the battery a couple years ago and that I shouldn’t need a battery. So I looked at my service records and saw that I had only replaced that particular battery two years prior and that it was still under warranty (3 yrs) so I called Montrose Automotive and ask why had they told me I needed a new battery when all it needed was to be charged up. So, they agreed to refund my money ($270.00+) and remove their battery and put the one that was in my car back in it. Well, that didn’t happen. They put in a 2006 battery in my car, told me to keep it running, because if I turned it off it wouldn’t start up again. The 2006 battery was NOT the one they had taken from my car... I was standing outside and was watching the attendant as he pounded and struggled to put the 2006 battery into the opening. Finally, he got lucky and it went into the opening. ...Anyway, when I took the battery back to the place I had purchased it to get a new one or get a refund, they informed me that it wasn’t one of their’s and that I would NOT be able to get a replacement or a refund . So IWent back to Montrose Auto. Told them that they had put the wrong battery into my car, the manager became very RUDE, LOUD, and UGLY. And, basically accused me of lying and told meto bring a picture of what the battery looked like. And that’s exactly whatI did. ( I got it from the place I purchased it from plus a copy of the purchase receipt ) When I returned to the station, I saw mybattery, hidden, under a table away from where the other batteries were located . They had no idea that I WOULD RETURN, so I caught themoff guard as I rambled around in their shop just a bit. When I showed the manager the pic of mybattery, the receipt etc, on my phone and the battery he acted surprised and pretended to be clueless, yet he continued to dispute what was facts. I had a pic, plus my receipt with the date purchased, and the kind of battery that I had purchased . Finally, after 7 trips back and forth to the shop, and the place I purchased the battery from ... the manager had no choice other then to give me back my2018 Battery and took back the 2006 battery that they put into my car. I will NEVER do business with them again. So be careful...ALL TRUST is gone, and a lesson was learned. Keep receipts, and take pictures and watch what they are doing at all times. So my rating for them is “ZERO “ They lied about me needing a battery, sold me one I didn’t need, hid the one they took out of my car, replaced it with a trash battery, accepted my check for $270.00+ dollars initially and after having to return my check, they onlyaccepted “cash” for the difference (less battery). They charged me $70.00+ to boost my smart car and check the battery, if they even did that. Just BE AWARE FOLKS ! I won’t use them any more . Sad day when people try to take advantage of once a regular customer .

Came in close to Quitting time for a state inspection 5:30 pm. Maybe 10 min later they told me they did not attempt the inspection because the ABS light was on (which comes on when you turn traction control off) they also told me I had immeasurable tread left on my rear tires and that my hood latch was broken. As I was unsure of the state requirements for passing inspection with an ABS light I did not press the other matters.I got home and measured tire tread at 1/8, not yet to the wear bars, minimum to pass on Texas is 2/32. My hood latch works fine. And according to Texas DPS an ABS light is not cause for rejection.I would have preferred being told hey it is 30 min to quitting time, Id rather not perform this service to being lied to more than once.
Do yourself a favor and ignore the likely fake positive reviews on this place. This is by far the worst mechanic Ive ever been to. More details to come about my specific situation but you will be very disappointed if you take your car here for any mechanical work and are the slightest bit knowledgeable about how cars work. MAC did some work on a damaged front bumper. The work was high quality, the colors matched well, and the job was done fast. Price was appropriate. Could not have asked for more.
My car needed some body work and a new door after I scraped it up. They completed the work quickly and did a great job, especially with blending the paint. For what it’s worth I’m a young woman and I never felt talked down to or misled, which can be an issue at some car shops.
Montrose Automotive is my “go to spot” for anything needed for my car. For routine maintenance, repairs, body work, etc., I can always trust David to be friendly, honest, and fair. I’ve been visiting this shop for over 5 years and I can say with certainty that they will continue to receive my business.
Went to have two vehicles inspected, both had windshield wipers less than 3 months old, and they tried to replace and charge for wiper blades yo pass. Absolute amateurs (they didn’t know how to get the spare out of our van), dishonest, scammers.
I have been here several times over the two years I have been in Houston. The vehicle inspection is quick, yet thorough. For a tire that was almost flat, they did the repair quickly and it has lasted since early this year. They were so nice to do the tire repair though I arrived only 5 minutes prior to their closing time. Montrose Automotive Center is one of the few AAA approved repair facilities in Houston.

I️ took my car in for an alignment and oil change. I️ woke up late on the morning I️ was taking it in and the owner drove me to work so I️ wouldn’t be late having to wait for my car. There also isn’t a good car wash right around my home so I️ was delighted when they washed it for me without me having to ask. They also buffed a piece of concrete off my car (I️ thought it was bird poop because I hadn’t washed my car in a while). Very satisfied.
