Honest mechanics are worth their weight in gold. These guys just swapped the engine in our 1955 Oldsmobile. They took great care of the car while they had it. They kept me informed of any issues pertaining to the project and delivered back to me my 66 year old car that now runs like brand new. Watkins is my “go to” place now for all 6 of our vehicles. We could not find anyone in town to fix our issue with a freeze plug. We called major car dealers and several automotive centers in Garland county. Had heard this was good place and good mechanics but Even though Id had my vehicle towed up there and told the guy I needed thermostat changed on or thats what Id been told when i bought it, also told him i knew it wasnt easy because we had bought the book on it and it supposedly was a 4 hour job, alot of stuff had to b taken off to get to it, well next day, guy calls and tells me they dont think its thermostat because they looked at and it looked to b fairly new and said it looked like it had some cleaning product of some sort poured into radiator and some other used parts put on it but they really didnt know why it was getting hot, and said theyd drove it around block and whatnot but it needed a radiator and of that, they knew, so wondering if i wanted them to go ahead and try that to start with, and that was gonna cost $700 and no way to know if that would fix it or not til they tried it and did i want them to proceed?anyhow i said no i guess not so i paid to get it hauled back home and they didnt charge me anything.. .so few days later im telling a friend of ours about the vehicle and he wanted to know how in the world could they have Looked at the thermostat when it supposedly takes 2 hrs to even b able to get to it? He told me you cant just look and See it, and so now I feel like Why would they say this? Also my husband, whos working out of state, had told me when i talked to him on phone he didnt see how that was possible but it was my vehicle id had to go buy so........I done a little researhing on it in the book wed bought for it and it said you really couldnt tell by just taking it out and looking at it you just needed to go ahead and replace it anyways so after reading that i didnt see why it mattered that they supposedly SEEN IT ANYHOW but.. .....it was a 2003 saturn vue so I have to wonder what was it, they just didnt wanna mess with it or ??? Because I was gonna pay whatever the labor was to do it and I already knew it was a simple part to change IF it wouldnt been in such a hard place to have to get to.....Id just like to know the reason why they didnt wanna do it I really would???

Great mechanics.

I originally thought they were honest good mechanics, until a year and half of problems with a new crate motor they put in....Afer $800 and 2 new mechanics opinions...The distributor cap was 180 degrees out and spark plug wires were backwards...OH YEA NOT TO MENTION PAINT BETWEEN THE GASKET ON THE REAR MAIN...
