Awful customer service! If you don’t speak Spanish the old lady treats you like you are not welcome in her store. Also she won’t let you stay in store if you are looking around. So you better know what you want and buy it right away cause she will tell you to get out.

They have the market cornered on variety of Spanish products available. Other then that I feel the customer service is very high if you speak Spanish and low if you dont. My wife asks me about some products on the shelf, just general curiosity, and the older lady behind the counter comments, I dont know why you are asking him...just cant stand bad service. Thankfully Don Quijote is fairly close and carries most of the key Spanish products I need.

Love love love this place. So many Hispanic items you cant find anywhere else on island, candies, canned goods, chilis, fresh tortillas and soooo much more. They are a bit pricey on some items but they are locally owned and Im sure the cost is to cover their overhead so, in my opinion, worth every penny. Shop local! My mouth is watering just thinking of my Tama-Roca and saladitos.

The owner/Mexican old lady was very very rude to me and for being a first time customer she literally yelled because I open both of the frozen doors then she had the audacity to say no EBT when I was using my regular debit card she judged me from the time I walked in to the time I left and I was going to buy product but I decided not to she doesn’t deserve a store with her attitude like that! don’t waste your time on her products when you can find them at Safeway, I wouldn’t suggest going there at all don’t waste your money .. she even mentioned go ahead and write a review you’re not the first one to talk bad about me ..wow unbelievable and I’m Mexican I can’t believe that’s how she treats her people.

The only Latin-American store in Honolulu that mainly retails on a smaller scale, dont let that fool you . The store has a pretty broad range of food supplies that covers many Latin-American needs, operator occasionally special orders . I have shopped there for years always amazed to find something that I have not come across Elsewhere in Honolulu quite surprised that I find it here. I have run into friends here often enough sometimes I wonder if there following me for my gastronomic potpourri. I consume for taste not quantum. I guess you could call me a GASTRO-ETHNO-CROSS borrower of differences in ethnicities to fill in voids missing flavors. Go visit be happy.

As a business owner l frequent visit this Mexican market to buy some items. About 2 months ago l had to return corn tortillas because they were not fresh and they would break when l made my taquito. The owner would not garentee the product and after visiting the store today she has continued to carry her ill feelings for me trying to return bad product. After her out burst of unwelcoming comments again about the issue of 2 months ago l said that she would lose a customer for a half dozen of corn tortillas. Maybe the person who answered the phone was busy. I called and asked to see if they sell a specific product. I didnt want to travel there because I live in Kapolei with a 3 year old, 2 year old and a 7 month old. When I asked if they carried the item I think I got disconnected. So I called back. I asked again. She said she carried it, so I asked her the price. She said if you want to know prices you need to come and check yourself. I felt like that was bad customer service. I decided I dont want to go there now for that reason and I am just going to order my stuff on Amazon.

We used to come here often, but the owner horribly offended both my mom and dad, that is something you never do, here in hawaii we believe in Ohana she is the opposite off it. Customer service is the worst I have ever seen. A customer has been lost, I rather one thousand times order my things online than to ever come here again, even if I have to pay triple for shipping. Upset she ruined my moms vacation here, but she is just a twig in a patch . Much more to see and experience .

First of all Zulma needs to get over herself and stop kissing the owners rear. This talk about stable and status is a joke. It is a review about the store and peoples experience which I am sure it is different for all. This cute little store has a variety of things if you want to get it quickly and not wait for Amazon or other online purchases. Certain things are expensive but of course it is... this is Hawaii. They have a variety of dried chilies for salsa making which is nice. Just make sure to take your own bag because they charge 25 cents for each paper bag they give you. If you dont mind paying them its no biggie. I am definitely considering being a regular customer and I am sure the owner is nice which I have not met, but if I have to kiss the owners rear like Zulma does and not be able to keep business and personal life separate then Ill just keep my distance. AlohaUpdate: I have found certain things at times super market (los pericos tostadas), foodland, safeway ( chorizo de rez ) that are a lot cheaper than this little store but still would consider coming here for a variety of goodies.

I know the owner for over 20 years. Shes a single mom trying to make this business work as best she can with aches an pains shes been able to keep it open.I know that when TV Shows need urgently decorations, supplies to emulate a latino neighborhood, the only place in town that has THE MOST variety of all Latino types of products is Mercado de la Raza.Everybody else has restaurants, but nobody has a novelty, food, and decorations including piñatas for almost every ocassion.Every now and then the workers have to break it to you that guess what they dont carry Latin America itself; just some of their products.Martha, the owner, knows every stable Latino on this island. She knows their status and has her regular customers. Its always those mainland new latinos that complain. Those that want to treat latino workers like slaves or idiots. Well at this store, its all Aloha and Hawaiian style. If youre not a nice Latino, you can go back to your country. Yes, I said it.Just stop by and ask politely if she has that favorite product you crave so much from your childhood memories. Sometimes, its not about the product, but really how youre adjusting to the aina.Martha is very well respected in the Latino community and if youre nice to her and treat her with respect, shell open her heart to you and give you a wonderful friendship that can last a lifetime.
