The staff is very friendly and eager. Due to this, during our transaction there were some missteps which were concerning. However the Sales, Financial and Service Managers worked diligently to address all the concerns and appropriately addressed the issues and took care of the necessary steps for satisfactory resolution. First time I’ve ever been straight up lied to about something. Being first time car buyers they definitely decided to take advantage of me and my wife. If they tell you that it takes time(1-2 weeks) to do the 100 point inspection to figure a proper trade in value and then sneak it into the forms that they are giving you $100 for it.P.S. If you are thinking about buying the 2012 Ford Focus they have listed for $9k it is the worst and most unreliable car you will ever purchase, even if they fix the issues with it. Brandon was our salesman and he was very laid back, friendly, and efficient. We didnt feel pressured at all. Eric was our finance guy and he was friendly and efficient as well. I definitely recommend asking for Brandon by name if you go here. However, the detail department clearly needs to have a talk about work ethic. There was trash and dirt in the backseat in an area we know they saw and chose to not clean. Due to the time frame we were given, we knew it wouldnt be a full detail and we were okay with that. But leaving candy wrappers and dirt clods behind when they were vacuuming out the car is just unacceptable and casts doubt on the integrity of the whole place. What started as a great experience ended with a bad taste in our mouths. Now were wondering what other corners may have been cut. If you go here have it detailed elsewhere.Edit: Reply to Owner - I appreciate the quick response, but theres nothing to be resolved as we paid a local small business to do a proper detail. The best action you as a business owner can take is reevaluating the caliber of employees you hire in the detail department. One or more more people currently in that department slid the back seats forward to remove kayak oars the previous owner left behind, saw dirt and trash, and chose to leave it there. Thats between you and your employees as we have already had the service your detail department started completed by a trusted party. Mahalo.

One of the worst experiences buying a car ever. I purchased a used corolla and was sold an additional warranty without being asked. Classic car sales nonsense adding on things and giving me innacurate numbers for the final quote. I overpaid and they ubderdelivered.Customer service is terrible. Its been 3 months and I am still waiting for them to refund the 2500 warranty they charged me without asking. Everytime I call, they are all always busy, and often time a young guy answers who obviously has no real experience with cars or sales.

Had a follow up appointment today with a much higher level of satisfaction so updating based on todays visit.-------------------------------------First of all, everyone I encountered was very friendly. Checking in for the appointment was seamless, easy, and very positive. In addition the a ‘check light’ and engine issue, I was also in for two recalls.I dropped the car off around 720 or so, then about 7 hours later got a text that my car was ready to be picked up. Considering that there was some diagnostics that needed to happen to figure out what was causing my issue, I thought for sure I would get a call to discuss options, but I didn’t.When I came in around 415 to get the car, it took about 15 minutes for them to find my paperwork, which is a super minor inconvenience, but I was surprised to learn during check out that one of the big issues I came in for wasn’t really addressed, I was under the assumption that it would get repaired. The issue was diagnosed though, and the advisor read to me, out loud, what the issue was, but because she had read so quickly (and also due to her face mask and the plexiglass) I have no idea what she said. I had to interrupt the check out process to express to her that I thought since it’s one of the primary issues I came in for that it would be fixed, but her response was that the ‘gas cap’ is out of stock (the bigger issue seemed to be the N80 purge valve needing to be replaced).In addition to the above, when I got home and was able to thoroughly review the paperwork I was given, I noticed the results of the Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection which seems to have some significant findings and recommendations – none of which were explained to me or even pointed out to me during check out. There are no estimates associated with the recommendations and since I’m not a mechanic I don’t know what most of it means and they all seem pretty serious.I pre-ordered a part (gas cap) so that it can be replaced when the N80 is also replaced but honestly I’m hesitant to come back. Though the staff I interacted with were both very friendly, the checkout process seemed rushed and dismissive with no communication between the time the car was dropped off and the time I got a text that the car was ready to be picked up.Also, the day after my service we called for a price quote on replacing the tires and getting an alignment. After a couple of calls the individual said they would call back with an estimate. More than 24 hours later Ive still not received a price quote (or a return a call)

Livingston and James were excellent to work with and made buying a new car a breeze. We are new to the island, and they both made us feel right at home and helped make the purchase process extremely easy. I was able to complete all but the final paperwork over the phone and set up to sign the financial paperwork. It was great to work with this dealership, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Consistently overcharge for labor. Example, a $100 part with $500 of labor. This was for a fuel pump.On a different vehicle I was quoted as needing roughly $500 worth of parts, and labor cost totaled nearly $3,000. They also refused to fix an oil leak on a car they tried to sell me. I would avoid this dealership at all cost. No VW is worth the hassle of dealing with these guys.

This was our 4th car purchase in Hawaii and this company BY FAR was the best and most helpful and also very respectful of the choice you made wether to buy or not. Loved the fact that there wasn’t any pressure, Livingston was a great salesman! Would definitely recommend him!

Ever since Honda introduced the Energy Green color, Ive coveted a Civic in the unmissable shade. But 99 percent of cars brought into Hawaii are white, gray, silver or black, and Id only rarely catch a glimpse of one, like my white whale. But when one turned up at Honolulu Volkswagen, I knew it had to be mine. And I would have gone to any dealer to capture this car.Fortunately, Honolulu Volkswagen turned out to be a surprisingly good car dealer experience, even though nobody really savors the car sales experience... especially the used car sales experience. But the operation seems well run, and part of a large and growing national corporate family that included several of Honolulus larger car lots, including Honolulu Ford.I worked with EJ Sales (yes, thats his real last name), and almost entirely online for the first several interactions, from email to text message. I was able to get the car to the very edge of being sold entirely online, but of course I wanted to see and drive it first. EJ marked it as sold on the lot to hold it a day, for peace of mind.. even though Im not sure there will ever be a line of people waiting to buy an Energy Green anything.The car turned out to be in spectacular shape, imported from Indiana by a military couple that had gotten pregnant and had to trade it in for a SUV. And the price was significantly less than a Civic that was a year older with more miles.Now, working with the finance guy is basically the boss level when it comes to buying a car. Dont get me wrong, it was not a short meeting. But Eric Mak was very transparent and patient and had the assured manner of someone who actually liked what he did. He got me a financing rate considerably lower than my own banks offer, making the monthly payment low enough to tack on the extended maintenance plan. And I NEVER get the extended maintenance plan.As an added bonus, EJ said he felt the passenger seat could be cleaned better, and gave me a certificate for a (second) detailing, at my leisure. Now that Id be going to Honolulu VW for regular maintenance, I was especially glad to see such attention to detail.Buying a car can be a nightmare. It wasnt exactly a light daydream at Honolulu VW, but it far exceeded my expectations.

He is very knowledgeable about the inventory when I was communicating through text message with him. During the test drive, he introduced all relevant features of the car and honest about the things that he needs to double check. We ended up getting the car we tested. Great experience overall. Nice amenities while you wait and for kids too. Clean show room and relatively fast when you talk numbers with them. Again, Brandon has been super helpful during this entire process.We live very close to the Tony Group VW and actually scheduled a test drive there first. But the experience was terrible... I would recommend this one over the Tony one a million times.

Everything is quick and fast.However when you need help, they will act like they dont know you.I had to sell my car, because I was scheduled to leave Hawaii. Since I got my new VW Passat from this place, I contacted this place the first. Cause I really loved my car, I wanted my car be in the best condition for next owner. For me, Honolulu VW should be the place, cause I got the car from that place and I had all my service from that place.However that sales guy who sold the car to me, EJ, just replied once and then ignored the emails I sent to him.Also, when you drive your car to service area, you can find its not organized. You dont even know where to park your car.Their app is also not easy to use.I know we dont have many options in the island. Especially close to downtown Honolulu, this is only VW dealer. But, still you have lots of other brands around.

Highly impressed. Ive leased an M4 from BMW (off-island) and tried to be in and out the door and it still took two hours.I dont want to set unrealistic expectations if youre a possible customer. I already knew what I wanted. I dont go on multiple test drives I just do research before contacting a dealer.If you dont know what you want, the staff seems extremely knowledgeable and can help you figure out your needs. Our sales person was Kyle. I just bought my Chrysler Town and Country today. I found it online on the website. I was able to easily and conveniently set up a test drive. My husband, kids and i arrived at the dealership and Kyle had the van right outfront waiting for me to take it for a drive. After letting him know exactly what i would like to be as far as price he made that happen. I am very satisfied and have gained a new faith in car dealerships. I wasnt at the dealership long before I was driving away with my new fully detailed van!

This place has the worst service I have ever experienced at a dealership. honestly, I wish there was a zero stars option to select for this review. I took my vehicle in to get a safety inspection mind you, I had a 10 Oclock appointment I gave them the required documentation they said it should be done by 12:30 so I took the shuttle back home to wait. Its now 2:30 pm. I went to check on my vehicle to find out that they never even started because the technician never received the paperwork. Im curious do the employees not communicate with each other or is wasting customers time a business model. To make things better the lady that works in the service department informed me that my vehicle probably wont pass inspection because of a suspension issue. Despite the fact that I just bought this vehicle a few months back NO ONE EVER CONDUCTED THE INSPECTION TO MAKE THAT DETERMINATION OF ANY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!!!Its moments like this when I regret life decisions that brought me to the point of buying a vehicle from this HORRIBLE dealership. Go to any other dealership but this one, please save yourself the stress of dealing with this type of service.

Great atmosphere! Livingston and Brandon were amazing and they people there are very knowledgeable and very friendly. Got the deal I wanted on the car I wanted, and was a pleasurable experience. They made sure I was happy and were very communicative. Livingston and Brandon were both on top of my car as it needed some things done before it was ready. They were quick and efficient, and willing to work with my schedule. They even filled my tank up before I drove off the lot! Definitely recommend, and would defiantly go back.
