Improving service as the pandemic fades. Got my car serviced and a problem with the rear hatch fixed in a couple hours.

Been there twice. Both times courteous, fast service. Shuttle downtown fast & efficient. Well done!

Friendly service a bit run down. We love the new Subaru we purchased.Edited to add:part of buying a new car here was an incentive to buy in the form of $500 in free gas. Turns out (a month later) this is in the form of CHEVRON gas cards. As of last week CHEVRON is no longer in business on the islands contacted Subaru to see if they were willing to exchange the cards for me and was told they had fulfilled their end of the bargain. So now its on me to PAY to exchange these cards. My $500 in free gas is now only $425 After exchange rates. Not pleased with having to pay $75 to be able to use a gift.

If you care about the safety of your friends, keiki, and the rest of your Ohana, do not buy anything from Big Island Motors. I feel absolutely violated.It was naive of me to think that a dealership would sell me a safe vehicle. I bought a used Ford Explorer from them in January from Spencer Southwell. I bought it as is, expecting only a minor thermostat issue, only to find out after the fact that not only did it need over $4000 worth of repairs to the front end, but that the problems were in fact extremely dangerous to me and everyone else on the road, problems included: destroyed wheel bearings, ball joints, CV boots, and potentially a transmission. Whether knowingly or through sheer gross negligence, it shows they do not care about your safety or well being.

Do your due diligence on any vehicle you buy from any store. They have good vehicles and staff. Give them a try

DONT BUY DONT BUY..Initially we thought the sale was good, how the low miles would be great for us since we were trading in both of our vehicles. Then we couldnt get it detailed a week after we had it, which was part of our agreement. It was infested with ants. This is only three days after we had it, we called politely and were given a brush off by Tim, the manager we spoke to. Then after only 3 weeks it broke down at my wifes work, we paid the towing after talking to the manager he offered to drop a new starter off for me, how nice, oh I had to pay for it. Well after further diagnosis and a surprise that it was a previous police cruiser, I found the teeth ground off the fly wheel and a broken weld on the frame. Wow! Then I contacted them again after waiting for a call back which never came he told me we bought it as is. THREE WEEKS, and $10000. for selling JUNK..This is clearly fraud..DONT BUY..

My son bought a brand new car from them not evan a year old and rusting . they have been giving him the run around since january. i wish there was a minus star.never will i buy a car from them . sticking with toyota...

The repair shop here has the worst service ever. They never awnser the phone and never even call you back. Probably busy joy riding your pimp ride around Hilo town! Cuz my car was more broke den when I dropped it off. But the worst part is when they told me I couldnt drive my car home unless I paid there obscene charges for services I didnt even approve of. Minus well go cregs list then deal with these clowns. I even bought the car from them with a warranty and the car broke the day after I bought it.

Make sure you thoroughly check when buying a used car here like any other dealer cause some of the used cars here seem kind of sketchy. Their repair shop crew looked like they didnt like their job the moment i walked in, allof them seemed depressed and tried to make me pay for things i didnt need to repair or fix
