Yard looks rundown but don’t let that fool you. The folks there are amazing and their work is equally awesome! I highly recommend them, especially if you have an older boat!! Almost no one in town works on motors over 20 years so Aqua Marine was an awesome find.

Place looks a little run down, but the service and mechanics are very good for anyones boat in need of repair.

Brent and Kenny were awesome. I had a problem last year not knowing what was wrong I went to a shop. They told me what was wrong then I took it to Kenny and they found the problem(not what was mentioned) and also found I had a leak around the bell housing on the transom. They got it all fixed. Great job guys. Ive noticed a big difference this year with the boat. Thank you much!! Ill be back again.

Dropped boat off for outdrive removal to change out bellows and called at noon same day to say it was ready for pick up! Ken was super friendly and walked me through everything he did. Went above and beyond in my view. Will use again for sure!

Kenny and Brent where absolutely amazing ! Answered all my questions being a new boater . They worked on our 28 ft Advantage Party Cat took photos of all the old oil for me coming out, filter and saved the old parts for me.They where so knowledgeable and helpful! I love that this is a family run business they where so polite and even his grandsons came out to unhook the trailer for me and hook it back up ! I will def be going to them from now on and sending all our friends there !Thanks for all your help guys !

Brent and Ken are AMAZING! I normally have my boat serviced by the dealer, but after an emergency repair visit to Aqua Marine of Henderson, I will only go here to have my boat serviced! They were quick, professional, and reasonable! As a boat owner it is comforting to know there is a family owned business in the area that has been around forever and knows their stuff!

Be careful with this mechanic. He told me my engine had to be rebuild for 3000$ went to Gerrys marine down the street they said it was a beautiful strong engine. Im running it on the lake and no issues at all.

Read ALL reviews, not just positive ones. Bought a used older boat and took here to find out what it needed to be reliable in the water. First met with older mechanic Ken. He asked me how much do you want to spend? I said an oil change and a quote to see all that it needed. He quickly said it would be about $650, just by eyeballing it for a minute. I told him to take a look first and call me with an actual number with specific work and I would decide from there. 4 hours later he calls me and tells me everything is good and to come pick it up. He didnt tell me any of the work done or a price. His son Brent called me later and said the bill was $671. I went and spoke in person and explained I didnt authorize any of the repairs, and was expecting a quote with what had to get done. Brent was understanding and I still paid my bill. Brent ended up doing some minor carb work for free for the issue. I paid the 671 because I was told the engine was running fine and on its own, and there wouldnt be any issues with the engine. Took the boat to Willow Beach and it kept backfiring. Got about 10-15 min in total before getting towed back to marina. Brought back to Aqua Marine. Ken denied them doing any carb work, despite Brent telling him they did. Brent took the boat in and worked on it again, no charge. Got the boat back and went to Willow Beach. About 8-10 minutes in, engine stalled to off and wouldnt start back up. Waited 4 hours b4 starting and went back to marina. Engine smoking and hot. I used trolling motor to bring in. Sent video to Brent and he said to bring it in first thing (5am) Mon morn. Came in Mon morn and was met with Ken. Man was loud and rude. Kept asking What you want me to do with it. I said Brent told me to bring it in, Ken kept yelling Brent aint here, Im running the show. Now, what you want me to do with it? Ken told me to take my boat and get out. I said this was F*cked up. Ken came at me and said he was going to knock my a$$ if I cursed at him. I didnt even curse at the old man. He was just looking to fight about something. Brent and his crew seem like stand up men. But his dad is unprofessional and loud. If his work was half as strong as his attitude and mouth, Id be cruising the river right now. Instead I have a dead engine and out the 671 I paid to have my engine working fine and all good. $400 of the 671 was for 4 hours of Kens work. Another part was to have the water pump replaced so that engine would cool while running. Engine never cooled. Theres a lot more detail to all this experience and its not good. Gerrys Marine did $3k on my dads jet boat years ago and still no issues afterwards. Gerry was booked 3 months out for work. Wish I had waited for a quality mechanic. Ill wait now to get my rebuild done properly.

I was told I would get a quote before any job was done. I had to call numerous times and drive 30 miles about 4 times before I finally get an estimate. After 1 month of waiting for just a quote, Turns out that the repairs will cost more than the engine so I just want to get the motor back.But now they say I owe $200 for the work I did not authorize. I asked for the motor back the way I brought it but they will not return it unless I pay.So I guess I lost my motor.WARNING.

You did not have an estimate ready for 2 weeks. Then I went on vacation for a week and when I returned, you still did not have the part you needed in order to even give an estimate.Finally you give me an estimate that i am not agreeing to and now I cannot get my motor back.Its not worth persuing this in another way.As an unsatisfied customer, I am happy to just warn the public about your operation.Do the right thing and give me back my motor.

Guys, do not go here. If I could give it zero stars I would. They allegedly changed an impeller for me and took out pieces of the old impeller from the engine....except they didnt. Then they charged me over $500 for the service they didnt perform, refused to give me a refund, and had an attorney contact me threatening litigation. Go to Gerrys Marine. Trust me, dont trust these guys at all. Youll regret it.

Nice to find a honest boat mechanic. Called on a electrical problem brought it down and had a call in a couple hours, done! Called other places said 3 weeks out to even look at it. Guys are on it dont be fooled by the building and are very reasonable $ not looking to gouge.

Ken and crew are friendly, easy to work with and are timely! The last marine I had my boat serviced at took 5-6 weeks and were full of excuses being too busy to complete the work in a timely fashion. Aqua Marine does great work and helped get my engine up & running again in no time!

They did a great job with our boat. Calvin explained everything that needed to be fixed and ordered the proper parts. They did not take long at all. The lights on the trailer and boat works great. I will recommend Aqua Marine to everyone with a boat.

After calling Bass Pro Shops 4 times, speaking to a manager & waiting a week for them to call us back (which they never did), then calling a mobile mechanic who never showed up, then calling other local mechanics who couldnt fit us in for 2 weeks, we finally called Aqua Marine. Trust me when I say we shouldve called them first! They said bring it down tomorrow morning, we open at 5am (summer hours). We picked up the boat early the following morning & it has worked fantastic. I dont know how they do it, but I can say Ken the owner works his butt off in the hot sun to make sure you get out on the water as fast as possible. 5 stars here!

These guys treat you like family. I was fishing a BASS Federation tournament last week when I had a axle/wheel problems. I show3d up at clsing time but they assured me they would get me back on the water quickly. Got me back on the next day. Then I had problems with my engine linkage and they fixed that too. Saved my tournament!!! Strongly recommended!!!! Thanks guys. Made it back home to NM in good shape.

I have been fishing for a long time. Im not from Nevada and my Mercury went down before a tournament at Lake Mead. I called Ken over at Aqua Marine because I asked around at some of the other fishermen and they said that he was the guy. They said not to take my boat any place else. So I took it over there not knowing if it was going to be good or bad because you never know what people say sometimes. Let me tell you I was more than impressed. Not only do these guys know what they are doing but he had me back on the water within 3 hours.I really cant say Ive ever seen service like that. Good honest people.On top of that, two days later while I was out on Lake Mead, a friend of mine was floating dead in the water and broke down. I towed him in all the way through the Narrows. I had him follow me back over to Aqua Marine, and they took care of him as well.Not only is this the place to go if you live anywhere close to Lake Mead or Las Vegas but Id be tempted to go in from a border state and have him fix my stuff.Really impressive.

Last week I was out fishing the US Open and had motor problems on my brand new Mercury 250 Pro XS. I thought that I would not be able to fish the tournament. I feel bad for those who had bad experiences but from what I experienced over the weekend these guys are some of the few honest boat mechanics there are anywhere.The boat was over heating, it turns out that the fuel pump had cracked and water pump was not functioning at idle. They were able to very clearly and helpfully explain what was wrong and fixed it for about the same price it would have cost to fix a car. THIS IS A BOAT! Usually mechanics will try to gouge boat owners but these guys didnt. I would recommend them highly and would go to them at any point in the future for boat repairs.

We discovered a blown wheel hub on my boat trailer - bearings were completely shot, metal on metal - at the end of the day last Saturday (6/14/2014). We had been on Lake Mead the entire week prior. We were exhausted, ready to pull the boat out, and head home. So, we left the boat tied to the dock and headed out in town to find a boat shop to help us out. When we finally stumbled upon Aqua Marine, it was almost 5pm. These guys were cleaning up to close up shop and head home. Yet, when I walked in these guys seemed genuinely interested/concerned with my situation and wanted to help. They happened to have one complete hub left in stock (bearings, rotor, brakes, etc.). They worked hard in the intense heat for a few hours and reasonably charged me for the parts and labor. I was sooooo happy!!! These guys saved my trip. Otherwise, nobody else was open. I probably would have had to extend my trip and wait until Monday to get help, parts, etc. BOTTOM LINE: I was able to get back to the boat, pull it out of the lake, and get back home in a timely manner. THESE GUYS ARE MY HEROS!

First impressions. I was referred to Aquamarine (AM) by two friends who have been boating collectively for over 30 years and I trust their opinions. I have a 2003 24ft Commander with a a Mercruiser 6.2 MPI with a Bravo outdrive. I am like most of you, someone who owns a boat but doesnt really know a lot about the inner workings of the boat engines and all the mechanics and electronics involved. While YouTube might help with understanding the mechanics and elecktronics of boating, I dont know many of us that are willing to actually get our hands dirty. So I, like you, am looking for an honest mechanic that wont rip me off. I dropped my boat off for a seasonal service in mid June. AM was busy but they got me in and out the same day. Not like some places that keep your boat for weeks for no apparent reason. I was impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of Ken. Ken is the big boss and is a former professional boat racer. Right off the bat you immediately get the impression that he knows what hes talking about. Hes not the type of mechanic that says you need this or you need that or I recommend this or I recommend that just to try to up sell you to run your bill up. He basically says if you dont need it dont waste your money. I know based on some posts, a few folks (very few) had issues but that was not my experience. If those examples are true, maybe as a result of those very few negative experiences AM has truly become a better business and better boat mechanics because of those experiences. I mean thats the point, thats why we post ratings and thats why we read ratings. We want businesses to be better and to improve and to provide a high quality of service. We dont post so that they go out of business. Thats not what its about. Ken is honest and you just generally get a good vibe from him. He is a throwback to that humble down to earth, salt of the earth mechanic our parents and grandparents used to go to. While I was there dropping off my boat his phone was ringing off the hook. He was answering questions and booking appointments like he was the secretary too. He had to have an easy 7-8 boats in his lot plus mine. That many people cant be wrong. Its like when you find a good restaurant you tell everyone & keep going back.They are family owned and in business for 38 years. I will update this post after I take my boat out following the service. But if their work is as good as their front end customer service I dont anticipate any issues. I am not a friend or family member just a real honest customer that has hopefully found a good boat mechanic that I can trust while maintaining a professional relationship with.

Ken Shaw is the owner of this business. He refused to talk with my husband because he wanted to rip me off. He estimated $7k-$8k to replace one motor and repair the other. Our bill came to $15,000!!! by the time we FINALLY got it back after 3 months! After all of that, one new motor still doesnt work and we are looking to replace it AGAIN. This time we will have someone else do the work.We had to sue him in small claims court. We got the judgement for the max ($7,500) and got a small amount from garnishment of his bank account but then he closed his business and bank account.....translated: he changed the name of his corporation to avoid complying with the law.After doing some research, we found at least 4 other cases where people had to sue him to get him to refund them for shoddy work and won.

Had an awesome experience yesterday. I just bought a mastercraft prostar that has been sitting out of the water for 2 years. Every shop I called to get it lake ready couldnt get me in for 2 weeks and quoted me quite a bit of cash. I called aqua marine at 8am and dropped it off at 9am. They did a complete service and installed a new batter for 150 less than the other shop quotes. I received a call at 2pm saying my boat was done and ready to be picked up. Cant say enough good things about these guys.

If I could give negative stars I would. Was charged for an impeller that was not replaced. They didnt tighten down the new carb, they installed the new carb incorrectly, was charged for new gear case lube,...wasnt done. I dont know how this place is in business. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

I have nothing to say but, they are awesome. I have taken my boat to several other places to be repaired and have been charged for alot of repairs, but still had issues, aqua marine, told us of many issues that other repair places didnt repair or help us with. They have been honest and checked everything that no one else did. All I say is I read a lot of reviews and ratings before taking my boat to aqua marine because I didnt want take my boat to repair places just to be ripped off. This is a family owned and operated place who takes their work seriously and so far have been nothing but honest. I will be movingmoving to California and will be continuing taking my boat to this company for service and repairs. Now we will go out and follow up with you on our boat vacation. I cannot speak highly enough of Kenny, Brent and all the folks at this awesome repair shop!I brought my Baja 252 Islander with a 496ci big block in Saturday June 27th with a horrible grinding sound coming from the starter. Knowing at least the starter was bad, I figured the ring gear on the flywheel was bad too. I told them no rush on the repair as I had no plans to head out to the lake for the holiday weekend and I figured it was going to be expensive as hell.While Brent was writing down my information, Kenny said hed start on it Monday morning June 29th and it would probably be done by the next day. Lo and behold, I got a call from Brent at 12:30 pm on Monday saying the boat was done! I almost dropped the phone in shock! The crew started at 5am, pulled the engine, found the starter to be shot and the ring gear had no damage! While the engine was out, they repaired a couple of other things including the raw water pump (Id asked them to do so if the engine had to come out.)Bottom line, I would recommend Aqua Marine to anyone in need of boat repair! With such a quick turnaround and at a price far less than I expected, I will not take my boat anywhere else!

Dont trust these guys. The only reason why they are still in business is because they are located so close to the lake. Do yourself a huge favor and take your business elsewhere.

Ugh. I took my old boat to these folks when it started running a little hot. They quoted me over $1500 to replace my impeller, bellows, and some seals on my Volvo outdrive. Additionally, they got grease, dirty fingerprints, and footprints all over my boats interior. I guess since it was an old boat, they assumed I didnt even care if it was clean or not. Regardless, I had a really bad feeling about them and felt they were sticking me with a pile of unnecessary charges. A friend of mine said to call Gerry down at Gerrys Marine. Im so glad he did! The same repairs at Gerrys only ended up costing $614 Nice!
