What a great guy Les Gold is! Came from Cincinnati to visit Detroit, and as an afterthought we decided to check out American Jewelry and Loan. We went in, looked around - prices seemed reasonable, and we got to talking to a sales rep. He asked if we wanted to meet Les, and of course we did! He went to the back, and within 2-3 minutes, Les was out talking to us, taking pictures with us, signing our t-shirts, and asking us questions about our trip..... Just an all around, genuine and friendly man!

Im from the Netherlands and i hate the competitian between Seth and Ashley.If they could work together as a team, American jewlery and loan would have a much better score and take a lot more money.

Life Saver. In and out process. As long as you have something almost anything of value...they will work with you and try to help you. I just had started a job and my first paycheck was only enough to pay car note. I had other lil bills. Didnt wanna ask anyone Because Im kinda private . Was nervous about going in because I never did it beforeI gathered a couple pieces of jewelry.. nothing bigAnd left out with a prayerThey were very polite. Welcoming. Understanding. No judgement.Smiling...friendly and explained the procedure thoroughly when borrowing.Dont remember names but I got what I needed and they made me laugh talking about slum lords lolGo see them

Staff is very rude!!! They treat people like we’re junkies!!! I got some of my things out and half of my games were missing and the ones that were in my box weren’t even mine!!! Shame on them!! Very disappointed!! They need to fire the staff and bring in new ones.

Went into this establishment today for the first time since it changed to American Jewelry and Loan, I was VERY disappointed! My friend and I went here to sell a leather jacket and first off we were never even greeted, never told we will be right with you or anything we stood around for about 30 mins while this guy was selling a dog cage and some other junk, if you keep ignoring customers they will just walk out, and thats exactly what we ended up doing! Probably will not be back here! Ill stick with the other pawn shop in HP that acknowledges their customers!!!

Very selective in what they will take other than gold, and dont bother with silver unless it is in large quantities.Staff is nice and courteous. Professional and clean atmosphere. Will come again to loan, or purchase.

This place was awesome when Joey owned it. Now its a bunch of scammers. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Nobody knows anything. Dont bother calling for any type of information what so ever because they dont know anything over the phone. Nor in person it seems. Never will I do business with this place again. WE MISS YOU JOEY !!! So mad he sold it to AMERICAN JEWLERY AND LOAN !!! Ugh !!! HATE them !

Had a great experience here, Tez hooked it up and I left extremely satisfied. I highly reccomend you go here over some of the other pawn shops off 8 mile.

I called to confirm that they had a tool for sale and they confirmed that it was available. However, when I arrived 20 minutes later, they claimed that it had been sold. They offered to sell some tools that were more expensive and inferior in quality. This place clearly uses a bait and switch scheme to attract customers. Avoid!!

Been going here for a while since Joey owned it and did a lot of good business with him never had a problem till recently I pawned my Xbox wit 2 games got home and 1 of them was missing then they basically told me they couldnt do nothing for me smh. Thats just bad business Never doing business at American Jewelry and Loan again. Im sure Joey woulda taken care of the situation. These guys lost a good customer. I would give it 0 stars if possible #ExtremelyPissed

Extremely unfair they offered me 15 bucks for a brand new Dewalt reciprocating saw. Went somewhere else got a $60 loan. The guy is racist I think so he tried ripping me off.
