I love them. The wait was only 30 minutes but it wasn’t bad with all the customers they had. They lift my car up and showed me the problem. And they also recommended me to a mechanic for another problem I have. Their prices are not bad and I no problem going to them about anything in that subject.

My flex pipe rusted out on my car and I took it here to have it fixed. They only charged me 90 bucks while other places quoted way more. They completely replaced it within a couple hours, and the staff was very friendly. I inspected the work after getting home and it looked very professional. 10/10 will use Velasquez again in the future.

So I came here with my 2020 dodge charger and asked them to install the xmod catback exhaust from Magnaflow. It came with directions: they did not follow them. They walked all over them.. then they installed the components incorrectly and the wrong parts of the system. This is the end product after paying alot of money and sitting there for 3 hours.

Fast and not costly. Will definitely use them again for my own cars. I will refer people to them too.

I rarely write a review but this place was awesome! Part of my muffler needed to be cut out and a new piece welded in its place. Everyone quoted me a couple hundred dollars and these guys did for $90.00. Fast service, great work and professional. They did not take advantage of me at all. They know what they are doing and do it right the first time! I recommend them for your car. They do it all and honest!

Great prices, got new muffler for $120, I had called around and most places were quoting me from $240 and up. They were very friendly and super fast!!

They do honest work for honest prices. Simple as that. I went to Midas for a brake job on my 350z, they wanted to charge me $1300 for 4 rotors and 4 pads. I was about to walk away, but they offered to do it for $1000. Not only was the job poorly done, the wait was absurd. They werent busy, and I was there for over 5 hours. Right off the lot, the brakes felt mushy, shuddered when slowing down, and squeeled in the rain and cold. I came here a few years later because I couldnt stand the shivering of my brakes any longer. I unfortunately had to stop by an hour before closing since I only had a small window of time free. They took care of me, they were quick despite getting a last minute rush of at least 4 other customers, and they charged me a reasonable $620 for the same job as Midas. Right off the bat, these brakes feel way better than when I rolled out of Midas. Time will only tell, but I feel confident in the job that these folks do. Thank you.

Great communication, honest price

I started off at the original run on Austin Avenue in Chicago now most of them quit doing breaks and I really only doing mufflers youll still get a good deal but I missed their other services.

This place used to be good now they want to rip you. to fix a y-pipe he said we can not do it you have to replace it and the price was going to be $450i went somewhere else they fixed it for $80i will never inter there parking lot again

Very efficient staff. Took a look at my issue as soon as a bay was available, diagnosed the problem, discussed it with me, fixed the issue for a very reasonable cost and got me on my way. Would definitely come back if needed in the future!

I have been there three times now. They are extremely fair and I drive from Palatine. The price they charge is more than fair and I will continue to go for repairs and recommend them to my friends. I was referred to a mechanic who told me Velasquez can do it better and will be less than I charge If I could give more than 5 stars I would. They are the best! I trust them implicitly.

Outstanding! I only needed a coupling, and a bit of welding. They didnt try to sell me a whole exhaust system like other places. Velasquez is an honest repair shop. I highly recommend it.

Happy with the quality of work. However, the shop quoted me $400 to replace mid section of the exhaust and do some extra work which I accepted. When work was done, everything was completed except the small y-pipe which is a part of the mid section. He wanted another $100 to replace it.

Earlier this week my aunt and I were driving down Irving Park Rd in Hanover Park in which is being re-surfaced. My husbands car suddenly sounded very loud and we pulled into a parking lot to see what could be causing the loud noise.Apparently the muffler disconnected from the manifold but was only hanging down a little. We decided to try and make it home to see if we could get someone to rig the pipe back up to the manifold until my husband got out of the hospital to take care of the problem himself. I needed the car to go back and fourth to the hospital to see him.We drove about a half a block when we heard the screeching sound of metal against the road and immediately pulled into the center turning lane as our worst fear had come true. The pipe fell and if we continued to drive, it would have ripped right off and took the whole system down. We were stranded and the skies looked as though they were ready to burst as the weather was turning for the worst.A young man on a bicycle stopped to see if there might be something he could do, and as we glanced at the businesses around us we noticed we had pulled over kiddie corner to Velasquez Muffler and Brake Shop. God was watching over us that day for sure. The young man asked if we would like him to take a ride over and see if there was anything they could do to assist. We thanked him and waited with hopes they could.Some time had passed and we still waited so my aunt decided to walk over to the muffler shop as she had feared the young man decided not to help after all. She found him in the shop talking to the workers and thanked him again as he had to go it had already started to rain and it was coming down hard.By this time the Hanover Police stopped to see what the problem was and due to the weather pulled up behind me with lights on to avoid and accident while I waited to see if help would arrive. Two workers came from the shop with my aunt in the rain and pulled up the pipe as best they could so that I could drive the car over to their shop without further damage so they could take a better look at it and decide what to do. With the help of the police department stopping traffic I was able to safely get the car over to the shop without incident. By this time I was truly a nervous wreck.The workers pulled the car in and said they fixed it the best they could for now however, it wasnt going to last very long due to the condition of the pipe but that we could drive it home and decide what to do about getting it fixed. My aunt inquired what their charge would be to fix the problem and we were amazed at the reasonable figure they gave for parts and labor. I had to talk it over with my husband before I could commit to them doing the service and they understood. We then asked what the charge would be for the work they did on it that day and was told without hesitation NO CHARGE. Amazing!!! They did not even know for sure that we would return there to have the car fixed.You can bet that is exactly where we brought the car the next day and was charged exactly what they had quoted the day prior. It is not too often these days when you can take your car in for repair that you dont end up emptying your wallet when the repair is complete. My aunt and I were blessed in many ways that day with the help from others but mostly blessed by the way we were treated by Velasquez Muffler and Brakes for not taking advantage of two elder women in need.I highly recommend this Muffler and Brake shop to anyone who wants to be be treated not just as a customer but as a real person. Hats off to the owner and the workers of Velasquez for the outstanding customer service and repair service they provide. Gracious! Gracious! Cheap quality parts. I rather go through the dealer and have them or other shop do the installation. I was quoted $160 labor - to replace front exhaust for 8 bolts. WOW !!! Aftermarket cheap quality part was additional 540, where you can get the same online for 250. Nice markup.

This was my second visit for some urgent exhaust repairs. This location is fast, friendly and has really fair prices for their services. Both times I had dealt with Franklin and he explained the repairs and cost. He did a great job fixing up my exhaust issues.

Went in to get my exhaust checked out for a leak. Turned out, last person didnt do it rite at all. He gave me a reasonable price on dual exhaust from headers all the way back. Car sounds and runs like a champ. Highly recommended!

Watch out for these guys will up sell you and rip you off. When you only need a muffler they will tell you no sir we have to change the whole muffler with catylitic so be careful take it other places first they sneaky and lie just to make more money. Looks like they take advantage of a lot of people be careful. No honesty here. Be really careful watch out. We will not be giving business to such places that cheat customers.

Had to go to that shop to get them to weld a small piece of my exhaust that broke off, then it turned out a nightmare. The manager of the shop drained my oil and pretended that the car had absolutely No oil in it. Eventho, I checked the oil myself the night before and it was fine. Now my oil pan gasket has a drip leakege but nothing to cause all of my oil to leak overnight!!! All in all I told them, someone drained my oil and I need answers. I wouldnt trust that shop.

Came here from Rockford IL. And well worth the drive. Guy by me wanted $670 to redo my exhaust on my 02 Dodge Dakota which is my winter plowing truck. Im disabled and this truck is very important part of my income. They gave me a great price to start and I explained what I said above. After seeing me and how my disabilities really make me struggle physically, they then said they would do it for pretty much for their cost.. i was very very grateful. Honest, fair, hard working guys. Ive brought several vehicles here over the years since i lived close to them and never was disappointed!!! Saved hundreds driving here from Rockford!!! I needed an exhaust repair in the past and i received a quick service with very good quality.

After getting a quote from a different mechanic for over $1500 to replace my entire exhaust system, I thought itd be prudent to get a 2nd opinion.What a wonderful decision that was! The staff was friendly, they immediately pulled my Jeep onto the lift and showed me what was wrong. They then suggested simply welding one of the cracks and replacing the muffler. In less than an hour, my vehicle was purring like a kitten, and my entire cost was less than $200! Great work Velasquez team, Ill definitely be back if I have other issues.

I took my car here on a Sunday (they were one of the only places open) for a flat tire. The staff were courteous and extremely fast! I only waited 10 minutes, and because they only repaired the tire instead of replacing it, my bill was about $10.00. I would definitely take my car here again!

Great place to go. Had them put on a 51 Donaldson muffler on my Ram 2500. The install was great, took only about 35 minutes and the quality of the work was top notch. Oh yeah, and the price was great too. If you need some exhaust work done, stop by and ask them to take a look at it, its free and chances are they can not only do it, but also do it for less.

Agreed on $ 20 oil change included oil filter. Once in the shop they wanted additional $ 5 for filter. Also, on my request they estimate $ 750 brakes repair. Did my brakes and oil service in other shop for under $ 180.
