Highly recommend!! When I called for HVAC maintenance because we had no AC, Nancy was very professional over the phone and was able to get a technician out to my house within 3 hours while all the other companies couldnt make it until 2 days later. James was our technician and he was wonderful, had our AC turned back on in 10 minutes of his arrival. He was very professional and gave advise for the future. Their fee was also cheaper than the companies I called and I will be calling them for all our future HVAC needs.

Not sure whats happened tothis company since they were acquired by Star Engery. Ive been on auto delivery for several years without an issue. Last night at 1am we ran out of fuel! I contacted their 24 hour emergency number which is simply and answer service. By the time Griffith responded Id already made arrangements with a different company at $0.62 less per gallon!! When their representative from the Cheverly MD office finally contacted me she was extremely rude. When I informed her Id made arrangements for a fuel delivery from a different company she said Fine and hung up!!! So sad to see a once great company go downhill so fast.

Yesterday I had Griffith service my oil furnace. I maintain a yearly contract with them (highly recommend that route.) The technician Gregory Leikus performed the work. He called me earlier In The day with estimated time of arrival and keep me posted as he encountered traffic. He did a excellent job of tuning up and cleaning my unit. I high recommend Griffith! Their technicians are Professional, their service is efficient and the staff is courteous!

A.C. stopped working. Called and within a few short minutes tech called. He said 2 people ahead of me but he would be there as soon as he could. This was around 6 pm. He arrived at 9:30 and got the problem fixed. He was polite and apologized for how long it took him to get there and did not complain about the late hour. He didnt leave until around 11 pm. Would definitely recommend Griffith to everyone. Great experience. This repair tech was amazing.
Before moving away, I was with Griffith for seven years for my oil. I generally had a great experience with them. Very nice people, always quick to respond to my needs, sometimes going above and beyond. Even when I was moving away they were super friendly in helping check on and replace the oil tank and look at the furnace after I had a potential home buyer say that they had issues. My only problem with them in the 7 years was that they once replaced a part on my furnace that was not covered by the gold service plan, and they didnt tell me about it at the time, I just got hit with a bill. It wasnt huge but a little communication would have been nice since I expected the gold plan to cover repairs. (It covers most things, but of course, not that one...) But anyone can have an off day/employee. I would recommend the company.
The technician arrived promptly. He took an experienced look at the situation and came up with a plan to proceed.His assessment was correct, so the problem was identified. He moved on to resolving the issue. It was an efficient and well thought-out process.He replaced the damaged capacitor. I expressed my thanks, and he was on his way to the next call.It was a job well done.
Griffith has provided exceptional support and service to my homes heating and cooling systems for over four seasons now. I have a heat pump/AC with back up oil furnace. From maintaining our systems to supplying our heating oil, Griffith has done a super job for our needs. Highly recommended.

Griffith has been a good Company, till after almost 15years with Company, we were told that the insurance we pay yearly with them hardly pays for anything. We had a water leak in the boiler room called Griffith out they came and had to drain this water so the boiler wld work is when we were told we had to pay for this, we were shocked and not only that we cannot drain it ourselves so Griffith had to called s second time. What Griffith needs to do is explain the insurance coverage better then they did to us.
Wayne is like an old friend - does great work and explains what he is doing. This interaction creates customer confidence in his work - my goal for good customer service.
I’m a professional welder fabricator who just moved to Maryland for a new job so I had to rent a place for me and my family that’s got a couple issues but I had a decent experience with my first service but I just called for emergency AC service and got laughed at along with yelled at by a rude lady named Lisa who’s stated she’s an after hours dispatcher was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with customer service I’m not the quickest talker my speech hasn’t been good since I was a kid so my disability was funny to her she literally laughed at me I asked what’s funny she said I was odd.. very odd because it took me a second to get out my information and then she asked in a slow voice making fun of me is there a phone number I asked for me or my land lord and she yelled which ever person the tech needs to call then laughed again.... very disappointing and embarrassing I will be filing a complaint
Gregory Leikus was thorough, efficient, friendly and informative. He showed me the guts of my ancient boiler, giving me a much better appreciation of why an annual cleaning and tune-up is necessary.
Our furnace stopped working on Christmas Eve, a tech came out at midnight but did not have the right part. Another tech was there at 9am Christmas morning to replace the fan motor and get our back up and going. Thanks for the great service!!

Great service, unfortunately sketchy billing. The technician was great, very responsive and friendly. Fixed our issue in under 30 minutes. When we called we for service we were told it was a $120 service fee. 30 minutes of work, and a $20 valve, resulted in not only the $120 but an additional $190 for the $20 part and half hour of work. Grand total of $312. for a Thursday morning call. I understand markup, but that is unreasonable. I would suggest steer clear unless you are in an emergency. However this wasnt even after hours rates, so if you do need them in that instance, say goodbye to your wallet.
I’ve been customer since 2003 with yearly inspections. I’ve gotten to know the fellas that do the inspections - dave came this time. I’m confident he does a thorough job. He’s also solved a service issue I had earlier this year. He’s knowledgeable, courteous and always professional.

Very poor customer service and not a trustworthy company. My wife called to close and cancelled our account 2 weeks ago. Yet, we received a bill today for over $300. Terri told my wife she would take care of it. Lets hope this time it sticks. I do not want to deal with Griffith again!
This started off rough because they were here to service 3 units on same day. Came and only had time for 1 unit. Rescheduled for other 2. Completed and showed up on time 2nd day. Both technicians were professional.
Service is quick, Techs are knowledgeable. Billing and service charges are the worst I have experienced however. Purchased Gold plan for two heat pumps and now wish I had only paid for the separate service calls. Ended up paying an extra $279 over the $498.95 for the two service contracts and received a $4.19 finance Charge to boot. Based on this experience could not recommend this company and will not renew contract next year. The extra charge was for some sealant and bundled labor that was not included in the service plan. Poor customer service.
Update: We finally got a refund of $189 for the so-called service fee. We still most likely wasted over $250 on freon we probably didnt really need had they done proper diagnostics, but at least we got something back. Would still never do business with them again.Original 5-star review:Our AC wasnt working properly and it was a holiday weekend, of course. We called several HVAC companies, looking for someone to come out to look at it without charging a ridiculous fee for off-hour service. Griffith was the last place out of several that I called and the first ones to call back (a few never did call back, even though they advertise 24 hour emergency service). The fee for an off-hour visit was less than $200, which we thought was fair. The technician came out immediately. He was very professional and friendly. He was here for about an hour, diagnosing low freon. He added freon and checked for leaks (thankfully, there were none). Our total bill was less than we thought it might be and our house is cooling down now. We were happy with our experience with this company and wont hesitate to call again.SIX DAYS LATER: Our AC is doing the exact same thing. Its running, but there is no air coming out of the vents. I called Griffith and the tech originally told me I had to again pay the $189 off hour fee for them to come out again because we dont have an account (I dont understand this - does getting an account cost extra?) He also told me I would have to again pay for any freon that was needed (after just 6 days). So essentially I pointed out that I paid almost $500 for 6 days of air conditioning? He did then offer to call his supervisor who agreed that the tech could come out at no charge and fill up the freon at no charge and then we would have to wait until next weeks for more diagnostics when a repair tech could come out.The tech today also stated that there is no record of the first tech checking for leaks, we were not charged for him checking for leaks and when called, that tech stated he did NOT test for leaks. SERIOUSLY??? Wouldnt that be the first thing he should have done? What did he think was going to happen to the freon if there was a leak? Especially since we were TOLD there were no leaks - which indicated he tested for them. Apparently there is also a coil that can cause the issues - it was not checked either. The tech they sent was an install tech, not a repair tech, so he added a bit of freon and that was it.A few days later: My original 5-star review is now 1 star and thats only because I cant rate it ZERO. Our AC is still not working properly. I dont care that Griffith has offered to come out again and not charge us for the appointment fee, because I no longer trust them after the first tech not doing any diagnostics, just slapping a band-aid on the problem, so almost 2 weeks later, we are still dealing with it. Hagerstown Heating & Cooling is coming out in the AM and I presume they will actually find out what the problem is and fix it.UPDATE: Hagerstown Heating & Cooling came out for a service fee of $89, actually DIAGNOSED the problem (a dirty coil) and REPAIRED the problem at less than half of what Griffith suggested it would cost if they had to do the same thing. They also said our unit was overcharged (too much freon) and that it is likely it was never low in freon in the first place, that the guage was only reading that way due to the coil issue and something about air flow.Griffith doggone dependable? Nope. They are a doggone JOKE. They lost our business. The owners response? Also a joke - we never heard a word from them and never got a penny refunded for their complete lack of service - we paid almost $500 for a band-aid and about a week of working AC.
The HVAC system was the first major repair Ive had to do to my house since I bought it. Griffith Energy was recommended to me by my neighbor and Im glad they did.The process took a few trips to my house and about three weeks because of shipping supplies but through out all that time, Griffith kept me up to date and never made me feel like I was bothering them when I would call with questions. It was also a long drawn out process because we were dealing with warranty and not just a straight transaction. The staff at Griffith Energy did all of that.After the event, I had a problem with my electronic cleaner. Technically a part of the HVAC system but not what they were working on. They came by and fixed it without charging me.I highly recommend this company!

The Griffith energy technician was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. My furnanced was repaired within 15 min of his arrival. He communicated with me and let me know what the problem was.
I am very please with how fast they respond to a fill, although I did call before 4pm for a service because my heating stopped working and my house was 49 degrees with 4 small children. And they did not show until 9 pm, so from 3:45pm to 9pm it stayed cold. They also failed to mention how much it was for just calling, and $290 dollars later I have heat. He didnt tell me what was wrong he just fixed it because had he told me my husband could have fixed it and he also failed to tell me how much everything was that he was fixing. I just feel used. Like tell people what your doing and how much so they can judge to do it or not. All that was wrong was water was in my oil lines and they needed to be de-ice.
Promised a call back 20 hours ago still waiting. Why say you have 24 hour emergency service available if you cannot even be bothered to return a call. DEFINITELY not recommended..... waste of my time......

Our air conditioning unit stopped working. We called Griffith and they came out the same day. Roger was very professional and polite. He was thorough in checking the unit to find the problem and got it fixed.
Our relationship is about 5 years now, the service has always been exceptional have had hurried men, but never an unpleasant one
The fellow who cleaned the boiler etc inspired a lot of confidence, and he gave me some pointers as to what to keep an eye on next winter.
Said they would fill 1st of every month. That didnt happen ran out fuel now costume a tech to get it going. Then 24 HR service thats a joke its an answering service. Said truck was on way at 815 that morning. Never saw it all day. Now at 55 degrees. I ended up having to get a transfer tank and fill it myself. They cost me an aggravated day. Money to get it fixed. Lied on phone. I cancelled the account. Never again. Must have to much going on cant handle what they got Idk. But would not ever recommend them to my worst enemy
