If I could give this place negative stars I would. Their customer service is just 100% god awful you would think the people running this location have lost their brains. We took our car here to get the oil changed and troubleshoot the AC because it stopped working. No big deal they said should have it done in a couple hours and we would go from there. A couple hours later we haven’t heard from them so we call. They tell us they need to run a different test which will cost even more. We say okay. Couple hours later nothing, so we call again. Now they say they need to order a part from their Spartanburg location but it won’t be done till the next day (even though they share a building with advanced auto parts) we say okay. We call the next afternoon because we still have heard nothing from them. They say the part came broken so they have to reorder it but it should be done before they close. We say okay. We call before they close and now they don’t even answer and put us straight to hold until they eventually hang up. We call the next morning same thing. They say they’re gonna get Shane put us on hold and hang up. We eventually go there so we can get some type of answer and we’re met with people sitting around on their phones and an extremely rude guy up front and still no answers. I get that things happen and sometimes fixing your car takes longer than expected. I am frustrated with that fact they never called us to tell us anything they waited for us to call. They couldn’t even give us an estimated time on when the car would be fixed. They just always kept saying it’ll be done before we close and they kept saying that for 3 days. So honestly my best advice would be to spend the extra money and take it somewhere with actual class and customer service not to a sweat shop run by complete and utter morons.

Does everything for less? Lies! I’ve gotten two separate quotes in consideration for auto repair and both times they’ve paled in comparison to other shops. Go there if you don’t mind being extremely overcharged! I assume that’s why their retail store failed because they are so overpriced. The staff is also rude. If your going to be training it may be best to keep them off the phone until they’re fully informed. Not only was I placed on hold as soon as she answered but she was completely clueless and decided that she couldn’t help so she handed the phone off to some rude man without informing him of our prior conversation whom proceeded to give me a second quote hundreds more than the original quote I received the week before while in store for the same repair. When I pointed out the difference he proceeded to cut me off and say “maybe you should take it to them then” not realizing I was talking about the previous quote from the same place. This place will never get my business or anybody else’s that asks.Update: I ended up going to Meineke which is basically next door and they did what Pep Boys wanted to charge me nearly $500 to do for $85. If that’s not extremely overpriced I don’t know what is.

I was visiting from Knoxville, TN when my tire blew Saturday night. Sunday morning I called and Jeff got me right in and got me the tire I needed. They were super kind and fast service. Got me and my daughter on our way quickly! Thanks for the great experience!

They did their best to get my car fixed but did not have the knowledge to do so. They did get me to the dealership so right there that is very helpful. I would have given five stars but I really expected pep boys to be able to track down this electrical problem. They are awesome they love to keep in touch they just need a little more training when it comes to electrical issues. Otherwise if you have car issues pep boys is a good place to go.

Took my car in due to a loud noise tire was making after just having it in shop with a dealership I hated dealing with. Shane was so nice and friendly and they got me fixed up and I’m so happy to be off driving safely and noise free! Will be back again when I get new tires for my Outlander!

Everything was great I drove in from New Jersey last night truck didnt feel safe to drive any further AAA had me towed 50 miles to this location in the morning (July 4th holiday) they got my truck off the wrecker drove it inside (no wait) found the problem and with in 2-3 hours I was back on the road again service was on point staff friendly kept me talking it passed the time thank you for your quick service

The guy there was really nice, personable, and knows his stuff. He didnt overcharge me like the lady was trying to do because its what the system proclaim it would take but it really didnt take that long like he said. I will come back only if he is working!!

I went in to have my alignment rechecked after a previous alignment only about 2 days prior from another location & Greenville Pep Boys was by far the best experience we had. The staff was very knowledgeable & eager to assist us on the condition of our vehicle. They were very detailed and thorough enough to pin point the issue we were truly having when other technicians couldn’t. I wish we lived close to this location so we could make this our permanent location. Would highly recommend this location to anybody who is in the area.

I’ve been going to Pep Boys almost 10 years getting service done on my car... They normally do pretty good but for the last two years it seem like every time I go get maintenance done and pay thousands of dollars... less than a week later my car is a back messing up... today I’ve caught up there multiple times and the manager Shane was being disrespectful and hung up the phone on me... and when I went up there he still was being disrespectful and called the police on me... not really sure how long he’s been there but I have never seen him before and everyone else there is amazing and have always helped me out with no problem... i’ve called corporate and I will be taking further actions... enough is enough and I want my money back for the service I receive last Saturday.... I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I was on my way to a job interview over an hour away. I realized one of my tires was dangerously low on tread and didnt want to risk driving so far on the tire. These guys were my heroes today as they made me a priority and chanhed it immediately. They were very professional as well.

I bought a set of proxes and I was offered no warranty. The installation took two hours. Good price not not so happy with the services.

I was in need of an immediate appointment than they were able to provide it. They responded to me when I arrived for my appointment without making me wait behind walk-ins. They were efficient. They did not try to sell me anything I didnt need. They were friendly. Their front office was going through renovation so it was a bit uncomfortable but the people were friendly and I am definitely going to return

Absolutely terrible, lying, service. Booked an appointment for 3:30pm in advance. Dropped vehicle off at 3pm early. Called back at 4:30pm because we havent heard anything and was told the vehicle was being looked at and would be ready at 5:30pm. Still didnt hear anything and went back to the location at 5:30pm. The woman at the counter on Sunday told us our vehicle was just taken back...looking out front our vehicle still was in the parking spot untouched. We went back inside only to see the woman frantically giving the keys to someone to start on our vehicle...2 hours after our appointment. We were lied to twice and was never called or updated the entire time. We not only dont trust this place to manage its business, we certainly dont trust it do perform the work either. How about trying to just keep your customers informed on whats happening instead of giving them the runaround?

They were really busy and it took a little bit longer than I initially planned, but I did get a good set of 2 tires for a good price and a lifetime alignment. I liked the customer service and will be returning for the other 2 tires in 2 weeks. Overall Im a satisfied customer

I am very upset with how things have gone during my appointment. I made a purchase of 4 tires and made an appointment on Thursday March 18th for Saturday March 20th at 3:00 pm. I received an email showing that I had an appointment. I showed up at the location in Greenville SC for my schedule appointment about 2:30 to be told that I was a drop off not an appointment. Which is very confusing. I talked with the manager and he said is say I have an appointment at 3:00 but as a drop off which I have nothing that shows that on my email that was sent to me for confirmation. I have sat now at this location for 3 hours and I am still waiting for my tire. This is ridiculous.... I am very disappointed with my first experience of Pepboys.

The store itself was a great experience! Fantastic customer service. However, I bought 2 sets of the most expensive wiper blades (simply because they each came with a $30 rebate card).5 months later and still no rebate cards. I called the rebate center and the experience was terrible. They were hard to understand, and then after being on hold a bunch, they told me I had 3 rebate submissions (should have only been 2. I only had 2 tracking numbers), but that two of them were for $0.00. Why would I have a tracking number for a $0.00 card? I was told I would have to wait 4-6 weeks until the cards “arrive” (heard that before) and then if they are wrong I can call... (then they hung up!) I was dumbfounded.Needless to say, I really like our local Pep Boys, but after this experience I will probably just go elsewhere in the future.

Slow with good prices! Please tell me why I was told the part I needed was available and it would take two hours at two hours and thirty minutes they tell me the part isnt here and its being delivered??? For one wheel Ive been waiting over three hours and the guy next to me has been waiting five hours and was told the part they have is broken.... What is going on in this repair shop???? Having someone wait unnecessarily during a pandemic is unacceptable.

Got there past 5:30 PM with a tire losing pressure. I was welcomed by Joseph who immediately came out and offered to inflate it so I could continue my way, having the spare tire ready for 8 AM (I asked for a very specific reference). 10 min later I was back on the road. Great help and service!

I had a flat in the middle of nowhere city and Pep Boys was the only place that sold my tire size. After riding 1 hour with the tow truck- Joseph at Pep Boys Greenville SC really made me feel comfortable and was very helpful! He fixed my tire in no time (I thought they were closed). I will be back for future needs on all my vehicles!

Don’t come if you plan on spending the whole day!Needed an oil change which took 3+ hours! I lived in GA and had relatively good experience so I thought why not. I had an appointment ready but after 2 hours my car had not been touched. Before waiting, I asked the lady how long it will be and she tells me “it’d only be 30 minutes once we get it into the garage. These cars are being worked on so yours will be next.” It was only until the next hour they started working on my car. I also needed my tire rotated but didn’t tell me until I was checking out that they hadn’t done it? Plus, they asked for my number but never notified me when my car was ready. Honestly, I don’t think they were done since I was ready to go.The whole time I remained patient and I’m not the type to write reviews. I hope no one else have the same experience.

They are SLOW! Took me close to 2 hours to get a battery replaced. Prices were good though, so theres that.

I ordered tires online to be picked up and installed at pep boys and when I arrived for my appointment they didn’t receive them but priced matched some other tires they had at the store . :) suggested things I needed done with my car but wasn’t pushy like some places can be !

This is the worst shop I have ever taken my car into. They completely broke my lug bolt with a screwdriver and a hammer and scratched my rim up, and then denied the damage. The car was brand new and in perfect condition, I had just gotten that day so I know there wasn’t any prior damage.

Just had to get towed and a new tire, and as usual, the guys at pep boys are top notch. I always have a great experience here, Joseph is always super nice, they are fast and being open late has saved my butt more than once. I dont go anywhere else if I can help it. Thanks yall!

SLOW!!!! I had an appointment at 830 am for back brakes and rotors they weren’t finished til 3p and I had to be at work @3pm. Jus outrageous I cldve googled and done it myself faster

This place just ripped me off out of $40. I brought my car to them because it was overheating. They tried to tell me that my battery was low and needed to be replaced for $230 before they could even look to see why the car had overheated. I called another place a got a second opinion and decided that it was best to take the car somewhere else. When I looked inside my car I had absolutely no antifreeze in it. So after not even diagnosising the problem they had to nerve to still charge me 40$...wasted my time and money. Never again. Zero stars if I had the choice!

Our truck needed a fuel pump replacement on a Sunday and Pep Boys was thankfully the only shop open near us! They gave us their best estimate of cost and time to repair, but then realized they would need to keep three truck an extra day. Since they did not have the part they needed on hand, they covered the cost of a rental vehicle for us for the extra day they needed! We were very happy with the price and the truck is running well!

If you’re not an expert this is NOT the place for you. I came for a simple oil change and to see why my check engine light came on. The entire time I was there store representatives were trying to sell me something. I asked several times for an explanation of needed repairs and no one would tell me. I bought a battery from this same store a few months ago. The “place holder” for the battery was loose and I asked for it to be checked. They never checked it. I was told an air filter needed to be replace and after I declined I was told “Well I’m not going to put it back in there. It’ll have to be replaced”. After paying for my service I asked which codes appeared for my check engine light to find out it was never checked. I had to ask 3 times. When I asked for the code meaning I was told I had to pay an extra $89.99. I took my car somewhere else and was thoroughly informed of what was going on with my car...for free.

I have a fleet car I brought in ( and will continue to bring in ) because of great customers service. My fleet management company would not cover my bald tires . But Heather ( the customer associate with great service ) helped me get Element to cover my tires. She did a wonderful job guiding and helping me through this. She saved me so much time and stress. Thanks Heather and Pep BoysOnly complaint would be the waiting room. My past experience with Pep Boys has been like the one in Gastonia, NC and Nashville, TN where I can sit at a desk and do work while I wait. Please Remodel ! My other fleet co-workers will come !

Joseph, from store #184 was phenomenally knowledgeable about all products and prices. He explained my charges in fine detail and was a pleasure to work with. I recommend PepBoys to anyone solely due to this man alone. His customer service was highly proficient and exceeded all of my expectations for a trip to the car Dr.

Buyer Beware! These guys are basically like used car salesmen. They over charge and dont care about the customer whatsoever. They will try to squeeze every penny possible and the employees are rude. Came in to get a diagnosis for tail lights / break lights out. 2 hours later when I ask about the status, they inform me that they havent found the part yet? I only wanted the diagnostic and never asked for them to repair it. They had finished the diagnostic Luckily I asked when I did and got my car back or they would have simply fixed it and handed me the bill, then threatened a lean on the vehicle if I tried not to pay for services I didnt ask for. I knew better than to use ANY Pep Boys, much less this one, however this time, the hope of convenience and a quick repair got me. I will not make that mistake again and no one else should either. The tactics and deceit this store uses should be illegal, but I guess thats the world we live in now. Highly considering rounding up the team for a Pep Boys Picket on Laurens road. Buyer Beware!

Good selection. Most parts and supplies are kept in stock. Most the staff is for knowledgeable, enough anyways. The staff that lack knowledge, really lack knowledge. Maybe an extended or continuous training program to ensure staff is up to date and knowledgeable. Ive never had a negative experience tho. Everyone has allways been very pleasant so overall a great experience every time i come in.

I have had an appointment set to get a hitch installed for the last 3 weeks. I made sure everything was in stock, and I even called to confirm a couple days ago. Of course when I drop off my car today they say they have no idea what Im talking about and had none of the parts. Further than that, they dont have the ability to even install it on my vehicle there! I am moving in TWO DAYS and have to get this figured out now.Thanks for nothing. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Tried to buy a set of 4 tires. It was 4:00 and and they said they couldn’t do it because they closed at 5:00. If you can’t do four tires in an hour you shouldn’t be doing them at all. What makes it worse is I was going to pay 300 dollars more by using them. Thankfully I saved 300.00 by lazy employees not wanting to do there job.

I’ve had multiple great experiences at this location. Everyone is always nice and helpful, both front desk staff and technicians. They take their time explaining to me the issues (even showing me first hand) and clarify every step. I find them to be trustworthy and honest about their work. The service on my car has been done right, the first time, every time. I highly recommend giving pep boys a try.

Got some hard working guys there. Will, Johnny, Dillon, and Heather (front desk)helped me numerous times. Will worked on my van til a few min after hours last time I needed something major done and made my headlights shine like new, Johnny worked til closing on my van, Heather and Dillon kept is updated on the van and talked to us while we waited. I highly recommend them.

Bought 4 brand new tires from this location 6 months ago and got a nail in rear tire. Made an appointment to get tire repaired and was told it was in non-repairable zone. I would have to buy a new tire. Went to Discount Tires less than 2 miles away and was told tire could easily be repaired and I could get life time warranty for all tires for any future repair/balance issue for free with one time $50 warranty fee which comes free if I bought the tires here in the first place. NEVER should have bought tires at Pepboys and wont in the future.

I meant to write this a few weeks ago. But have not had the time. I was helped by Dillon the salesman. And Joseph the assistant manager (I think, or store manager?) There was also a nice lady working at the front who explained and compared warranties and road hazard insurance, but I did not catch her name. The team was very friendly and knowledgeable! I went in to repair one tire, was told I should at least get two new ones when the tire couldnt be fixed. I had a few questions about it, so Joseph walked with me outside to show me the tire and how you can see if it needs to be replaced. I think he called it the wear bar? Anyways, I ended up just replacing the one because my lease is almost up. Next time I need new tires I will be going to Pep Boys... I have only ever gone to Discount Tire before stopping at this location. And I wont be going back! I really liked the fact that Joseph says they do their research to make sure they are the lowest price, he was willing to beat any price that I was quoted from Discount as well. Thanks again! I will be recommending the team at Pepboys to family and friends!

I dropped my vehicle off at the pep boys at 2418 Laurens Rd, Greenville, SC 29607 for a diagnostic yesterday around 915am. I waited 24 hours for them to tell me that THEIR scanner had to charge and thats why they couldnt run the codes on my vehicle. Why in the world is something like having a code scanner not being charged prevent me from getting my vehicle back in a logical timely manner. I told them I was using insurance and it looked like that was the reason for the delay. To get as much out of the insurance as possible? Why should great customer service be so hard to work with? No one called me giving me an update and to wake up and hear that something easy as reading a car with a scanner couldnt be completed because of not having enough scanners or charging equipment? Unacceptable!Update #2This is the second time I have to write about the pepboys on laurens in greenville, sc. My insurance company(silverrock auto) advised me that they ordered a part for my car and that everything was supposed to be fixed by the 27th of last month. I called pepboys August 5th about the part and they(forgot name) said that no part has came in and that they WILL CALL once the part comes in. Today August 20th after calling silverrock and them referring me to pepboys, I finally got word that the part has been sitting at pepboys for 2 weeks! No call no customer service nothing! Im done with pepboys and I would like to be compensated for the month that I had to look at my dashboard filled with lights with no solution. I will be forwarding this email all over to give customers warning.

We had just found we needed tires before leaving town on Monday. Another place didnt have what we needed and referred us to a place in Spartanburg. Thats when I googled tire stores and came up with Pep Boys. When I called, Steve (Chili) answered and gave us a route. Pleased, we drove over, and left the car in his care. Twenty minutes later, Steve called to tell me hed been mistaken, that they didnt have four tires, only one. Feeling discouraged that we might be out of luck, Steve told me we can upgrade the tires, which cost about a hundred or so more. Then, thinking Id have to pay more, Steve blew me away with the news he was going to hold to the original quote! I was do floored! And although I didnt get a chance to thank him personally, I made sure Jeff let him know how helpful he was. And Jeff was too. Super friendly service, and an above and beyond work ethic is what you can expect based on my experience. Impressed and definitely going back as well as referring others! Great job, Pep Boys!

I just left pep boys trying to get a tire change. I ordered the tires online and set up an appointment online. I went this morning to get my tires installed and the young lady at the counter spent 10 minutes trying to upgrade me with all sorts of extras. Then come to find out they dont have my tires in stock. Never offered me an upgrade just said sorry.Dave

I bought 4 brand new good year tires from them A year ago and a year later/30k miles it’s all wore out and bad.. now I’m having to replace all 4 again. And the tires description says 60k warranty on them. Definitely won’t be purchasing any more from here.

So - I ordered tires on-line, and got an appointment a week out. The on-line experience was great and I felt good about the transaction.When I got there today, I had to hunt around for 10-15 minutes to find someone to wait on me. Then, the first question he asked was did you call to verify that the tires were in stock? Really? I thought that was what the appointment was for.I had re-arranged my schedule and came in from out of town early to drip my car off. My wife had just arrived to pick me up and I had to tell ask her to go back home because of this dysfunctional organization. What a waste of time and effort!

Went in late on a Friday evening and I know they were ready to go home, but Joseph and supporting staff (sorry, terrible with names) looked at my car, ordered the part and I had my AC fixed in a matter of days and for a fraction of the cost of a local competitor. Thanks for all the help boys.
