Always have what I need.Great local hardware store.
Always friendly and very helpful workers. If they dont have what you are looking for they will suggest some places that has it
Gary and company are always helpful. I go here first because they usually have what I need, no walking around aimlessly at the huge home stores. Still sell nuts and bolts loose! No need to buy a zillion to get the two or three you need. Have rescreened most of my old house. Great place!
Nice family owned hardware store. They have alot. Support small business.
Not only do they have a good product line but theyre very helpful as well. The one gentleman in there gave me excellent advice even though I wasnt buying anything. And when I have gone in and bought things they always steered me the right way.
Exactly what I needed for a 65+ year old bathroom remodeling job.Great service and they have just what you need almost every time!
This is honestly the worst hardware place I have ever experienced. It was poor customer service! I drove 30 minutes to this place to get assistance to fix my candlelight lamp. The owner was very mean and denied helping me for no reason. He refused to help me and told me to go to Walmart. I felt discriminated. He wanted me to buy a new amp for my lamp, when he had no idea what the issue was. He told me that I’d have to do this myself with no returns. What kind of store doesn’t except returns? Not only that, the employees were not all wearing masks during the pandemic. I definitely will not be coming back to this place. I hope nobody gives him business because he’s very disrespectful and doesn’t want to help his customers. And isn’t following proper CDC guidelines!
Always has what is needed. Best group of people in Greensburg for hardware and supplies. Customer service is second to none. We are so lucky as a community to have this store. Thank you Bortz Hardware
Good local hardware store. Has just about everything without going 5 extra miles to the big box store
They helped me pick out the perfect gift for my boyfriend. He loved it by the way. They were friendly and not a lot of hassle.
It was great. First time in store. They were very helpful and pleasant on the phone and terrific in person. Great store. Much better than the big box stores. I will be back. Thank you.
Great service and pricing
Very helpful, good employees...know what to do ...
Local and helpful at finding what we needed. Friendly.
Love stopping here... customer service is second to none!
These very nice folks will help you with repairing screens and can help you find items that the big box stores don’t carry. If you want to shop local, which is a priority for me, give this local hardware store a try.
Best service! If you need a screen repaired or rebuilt this is the only place in town!
FIRST I DONT BELIEVE THAT EMPLOYEES ARE ALLOWED TO USE THIS PLATFORM FOR ADVERTISEMENTS 《BEST HARDWARE STORE EVER》 Read the TOS! Local guides are not allowed to do thatI HAVE BEEN BUYING THINGS HERE FOR NEARLY 10 YEARS NOW AS AN ELECTRICIAN, THEY STILL DONT RECOGNIZE ME. I NOTICED THAT GOOGLE WAS REQUESTING SOME MISSING INFORMATION ABOUT HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY AND PARKING... I called to ask an employee (remembering that there is a ramp of some sort in the store and the floors are rather uneven.) Employee told me that I would have to drop by in the evening to speak with the owner. So I did so.... Well the owner of the store said that he does not care what Google customers think so all I can do is post biased on the truth from my own observations. After leaving the store I noticed that he has an employee who is also a local guide with Google. Most reviews of the place are wonderful. But he must not really care what 30,000 customers a month think. This could have been a great review of he had just taken a moment to acknowledge me as a customer asking questions for the rest of us. Like I said 10 year customer and still unrecognized. Not only am I an electrician but, I worked for Westmoreland Cultural Trust, greensburg garden/civic center, the palace and the Greensburg Amtrak station. You would not believe how many times a week I was a actually in and out of here cutting keys and buying lights.... that was just very unfriendly and rudely ignorant of him.To answer the questions,No handicap doors, ramp In, no accessible parking, no ramp from street to walk to get in. If you call to ask they may tell you that you need to speak to the owner, however if you are lucky enough to park right in front of the door you could probably yell and scream. They would be nice enough to come out to help you in.PUBLIC RESTROOMS????HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE RESTROOM????UNISEX OR FAMILY RESTROOM? IF THIS PLACE DOES HAVE A RESTROOM I DONT THINK THEY ARE SEPARATE.???ACCESSIBLE ELEVATOR? NO... BUT I believe there is a ramp part way through the store.PAID METER PARKING ONLY.Other then that my shopping experiences have been great as long as I dont need help.If you get keys cut here get and save your receipt. Key cut good to bad ratio is about 1 bad out of every 12 depending on the operator. Some times they dont polish them dow. Enough. He will tell you that your original was warn or previously coppied. The robot at lowes does em fine but I hate automation.
Very helpful and friendly.
They are always very friendly and go above and beyond what you ever expect. They help you load your car if you need it. Its my favorite hardware store.
An old fashioned hardware store with really good people And great service. . You are in and out in minutes with free parking right at the door.
Bortz Hardware is a first class hometown hardware store. They have hard to find products with a pleasant helpful staff to make your search easy. I needed Creosote Destroyer to keep my wood fired furnace clean and theyre the only place I can find it.
Very good customer care
Decent hardware store. In the heart of town. Never really too crowded. Quick in and out.
They Always have what you need and Mike and Gary are Very Helpful !
Ive done a fair bit of business in here, for both work and home. Heather and Gary run an awesome store, and are great at taking care of not only repeat customers but everyone who walks in the store. The prices are fair, and almost anything can be ordered easily if they dont carry it. My only complaint would be that they dont always stock everything in the sales flyer- but theyre always quick to remind me that they can order it and have it there in a few days.
Terrible service in plumbing. Employee was very dismissive. Want to support local business but won’t ever go back.
This is one of The Best hardware stores ever!! Mike is very knowledgeable and helpful. Gary the owner is also helpful and accommodating. They’ve saved me money on more than one occasion.
Great local hardware store, shop local! Staff is always helpful.
If they dont have what you needYou dont need it.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! Pro tip: the parking lot across from them is free for the first 30 minutes making it very convenient for quick trips.
Well stocked and knowledgeable staff. An excellent place for home repair needs.
Always very helpful!
Nice little family owned local hardware store right in town
Nice people, very helpful.
Very friendly and helpful staff! We need to see more smaller stores able to compete with the big box chain stores.
Only place that had the part I needed for my hot water tank, always a Pleasant experience
Helpful and great customer service
Prices a bit high but very convenient and helpful
Helpful and knowledgeable
Great customer service. Had a great selection of products
Limited stock. Didnt have the Henrys roof sealant that I got there before and wasnt helpful in finding it.
Lots of older home parts! Great helpful staff too!
Lots of parts to choose from but it is a small shop. They do have some items that you may not find at any other hardware store in this area.
I work at bortz hardware so I must say- its quite excellent. We fix and build window screens, repair lamps, rent a carpet cleaning machine, make house and car keys, cut glass and plexiglass to size, tint paint, sell loose nuts and bolts, water heaters, and sell chain, pipe, wire, tubing, and rope by the foot.Theres a parking lot right across the street and your first half hour is free. Thats for everyone, all the time! You should definitely go there! Open 7 days a week.
Awesome hardware store hometown feeling and awesome service
Need auto grade bolts? Need metric?Yeah, ever since I initially discovered Bortz (recommended to me by a NAPA employee when they didnt have what I needed) this is my go-to for fasteners.I admit they have other hardware. But M12-1.25x65mm Grade 10.9 bolts? Just one of a very large variety of bolts they carry for a fair price, all of which are practically impossible to find elsewhere.Went to Smail Honda to get specifications for a trailing arm bolt, Smail wanted $23 for one bolt.. Went to Bortz and got 4 of them for $2.96 each. The store has an old fashioned atmosphere. Maybe because I mostly shop fasteners. But the item arent tagged. You pick up what you need, note the price yourself, then walk up front to check out and tell the cashier what the fasteners cost. No scanning, no barcodes and no tags. A level of trust I havent seen since I was a small child at the local log cabin cornerstore.Definitely a must for anyone who has automotive projects and knows exactly what diameter/ thread pitch/ length you need. ESPECIALLY if you need hardened steel. Because nobody in the area has even a mediocre stock of hardened steel fasteners, and Bortz is the absolute first I have found to keep washers and other accessory hardware of the same grade right next to the primary fasteners of each grade.. So no more crushing washers and having bolts wiggle loose because a grade 8.8 washer was hung up next to a grade 10.9 bolt and the bolt eventually crushed the washer causing itself to break loose seemingly at random.Point is, they have a stock I can barely even find on Amazon of specialty fasteners. That alone has made me a repeat customer. The trusting nature of the store, with the front door always wide open and the manner of telling the cashier the cost yourself is just an added bonus: a store that treats customers like people in need of a service they can provide, rather than cattle to be prodded for risk management. Also, it should be noted: the parking lot directly adjacent to Bortz has free parking for the first 30 minutes. So if the road doesnt have an open spot, and you intend to be timely, you can always park there.
Very helpful, someone was able to help me with a broken glass pane while i waited.
Always have what you need when you need it, very friendly kind and considerate
Gary is very helpful and knowledgeable. The store is very neat and has lots of inventory.
