This is an update from a previous review, in which I thought the communication up-front from the fitting could of been better. As you can see from the response from the owner, they are working towards this being more clear in the future.It means a lot to get insight from the owner in the process of club orders, and how the delay for custom orders is completely out of their control.If you are looking for new set of clubs, I would suggest going through the Trackman fitting experience. It was really neat, and they email you the data from every club you try. Be up front with the fitter, if you are expecting to walk away with clubs the same day, or if you willing to try clubs that might need to be ordered and shipped.It is nice that you can have clubs sent directly to house.During my fitting, I also purchased a pair of golf shoes. Maple Hill has great quality products at a competitive prices.

Went there today to replace my 15 year old driver. Once I got there one gentleman helped me pick out a few drivers and I went and hit them at their driving range. Narrowed it down to two but wanting to try a couple more I went back inside and ended up talking to Chris, told him that I was hoping to keep my ball flight down on my drives and he said he knew exactly what I needed. He put together a specific shaft with the new Cobra Rad Speed driver. One swing at their inside simulator I knew they was the club. He knew exactly what I needed and set me up with the perfect Driver. Would highly recommend seeing Chris when you go m. They have the best prices and all the new clubs.

I used to love going to Maple Hill, always have tons of options (they still do) but the quality of customer service has plummeted. Continuously I see multiple salespeople chatting while I stand there, making eye contact, and still getting no service. I have always tried to shop the area businesses but at this point shopping online or anywhere else seems like the better option.

Excellent course out off Byron Center. Very well kept, very affordable for 18 with carts.Difficult greens and tight fairways. Not many hazards. Very easy vibe. Excellent practice facilities, simulators, and a major golf equipment retail space.

Course is nice and well maintained The only complaint I have is there isnt a lot of space between the holes so it feels a little cramped but overall great experience

Went there for advice on a ping driver shaft that Ive broken twice that I bought at miles golf... Ended up replacing my shaft for warranty... Great service... I had the pleasure of talking to Tristen over the past week. Rewind - about two weeks ago my shaft snapped on me - which happens occasionally. I ordered the small batch, hzrdus yellow smoke golf shaft - loved it. that being said, when it broke I was quite finicky. Tristen not only had great customer service skills, but walked me through the return process in a very professionally manner. From that point I was emailed personally by Tristen with updates. Tristen made me feel confident that my return order mattered, and that Maple Hill Golf would do the best they could. Overall, my experience with Maple Hill Golf - and Tristen - has been absolutely outstanding. Can’t wait to come back in the future!

Ordered a club and received a tracking number next day. 4 days later, tracking said it was waiting for item before providing a ship date. Long story short after inquiring about the tracking, I was told that the club would ship directly from manufacturer in 5-6 weeks!. This was never mentioned during order and Im angry I have to scramble to look for a gift a few days before fathers day.

Course is good and not too difficult. Fairways are close to each other so there tends to be a lot of players playing from the fairway your on. Staff is friendly and the pro shop is amazing.

While I have nothing negative to say about the great selection they have at the store, beware that as of today people in this store do not seem to care about any CDC recommendations regarding masks. Nor do they seem to follow their own signage on the door that Masks must be worn to enterSeveral employees were walking around with the masks under their chins. I saw a few not wearing any at all.When a salesmen approached me to discuss a few sets of clubs, he continually pulled his mask down under his chin while talking (1-2 ft apart mind you). This leads me to believe that he does not fully grasp or understand how masks are actually supposed to work. Needless to say, this is not the kind of person I want giving me advice on what club is a best fit for me, or any advice for that matter if he cant manage to wear a piece of cloth correctly.When I went to leave he handed me a crumpled up business card from his pocket that said General Manager .. yikesDont think Ill be shopping here anytime soon which sucks, I came in today 100% ready to drop $$$ on a whole new set of clubs.

Got a new pair of Adidas ZG21 shoes with Boost and Cody was extremely helpful finding me the fit I needed then I broke them in on the front nine. They are extremely comfortable and the course was in pretty good shape for being this early in the season. Definitely coming back more this season.

Nice course, however they need a starter. The group in front of us was right on the group in front of them. The group behind us was on us all the way.

Ordered a Mizuno Bag awhile back. Picked my color out and sent my payment. Took me about 2 months to receive my bag due to Mizuno not having the color I picked in a 14 way bag. Said it was available in 14 ways in that color.. Contacted me about this issue a couple weeks later. Love the bag just not the wait on getting it.Ordered a Mizuno driver. Took about a month or so to get it due to them not having the shaft I picked. Got that situated in a week with back and forth calls. The driver also cracked a month after having it. Damn Mizuno!! Mostlikely my fault some how..... Any how the online ordering in my opinion is a no go after these two orders.. Sorry Maple.

Went in to replace my driver. The sales associate was prompt to greet and very helpful in suggesting a few different brands in my price range. I was able to test eachout in one of their heated stalls on the outdoor range and had my swing breifly analyzed on one of the indoor simulators. I left the facility happy and confident in my purchase. Highly recommend for all your golf equipment needs.

Grand Rapids is deprived of a top of the line golf store and practice facility. Instead we are required to accept 2nd rate services at 1st rate prices. My Suggestion: Build a covered heated range, make it standard, charge more for golf balls if you want and not 35 dollars per hour for a wood barn with shottier build quality than my uncles barn.

Terrible customer service. Paid for expedited service. 10 days later when the package didnt arrive had my mom check on the status. Only for them to tell her it was on back order. Then they upsold ($40) her another bag. When I called the service rep said he would send me a picture of what she ordered. He never did. When I called to return, they literally sent an address, no postage paid. Cost $90 to return the bag. So out the additonal $28 for expedite postage, $40 for the upgrade (will get that back on return) and $90 for the return postage. Will NEVER purchase from again!

I just have to say this place hires the right people to make sure business will return. I booked a tee time an hour ahead and it got pushed back because there was a walk on of an 8 person group before us. Who did not move for 40 minutes. Our tee time was pushed back 40 minutes and the staff hear was willing to supply me and my associates with range tokens to get a warm up and apologize for the inconvenience. I love businesses like this and they stay in business for a reason. Thank you maple hills for making my bad experience a good one

LOVE their customer service! I just purchased a golf practice mat from Maple Hill. What I received was not what I ordered. I emailed them the details and they sent me the correct product within 48 hours! Not only that but they told me to KEEP the original product! I purchased from them in the first place because their prices were great, but as a bonus their customer service is about the best I have ever experienced.

I love their selection of product, however their staff was not helpful at all unfortunately. I have been there twice in the past month and one experience in particular, I was in need of new spikes for my golf shoes and brought my shoes in to confirm the they would be the correct spikes. However after purchasing the spikes they recommended for my shoes specifically, I drove 30 minutes back to the office to find that they were completely incorrect. During the same visit I was checking out new golf shoes and had a few questions that I asked multiple staff members, I will note they were not difficult questions and 3 staff members could not answer and very quickly walked away after not being able to answer the questions. Overall I was very disappointed with my experience as my co-worker had the same experience with replacement spikes later in the week.

This is not a legitimate business. I ordered a golf bag from Maple Hill in September. Seven weeks later I have not received the bag. I have contacted the company weekly, by phone and by e-mail, without getting the product I paid money for. After many complaints, I got a response saying Sorry you have not received your bag. We also have other bags if you want to buy one of those. They have held my money hostage, tried to upsell me, and sold me a product they do not have. I talked to one person, Joe, who promised me he would call me with an update yesterday. Believe it or not, he did not call me. I called him today, was told he was on the phone, and was told I would be called back. He did not call me back. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. At this point, I do not know what to do except tell you to take your business elsewhere if you actually want the products you pay money for.

It was a beautiful establishment. For some weird reason people felt a need to help me instead of my friends who were actually golfing. Im a beginner so we are a bit slow coming out for our first course. Halfway thru someone approaches and tells us to hurry or split in groups of 2, which would have taken alot longer. Instead we continued to play the same way because there wasnt anyone behind us. Was not a comforting feeling being rushed, when we were more than accepting to let others play thru.

This place is huge!! If your looking for it, they probably have it. It bit chaotic but lots of employees to assist with questions.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Jeff in the golf club fitting shop kitchen. I was tricked into a club fitting session as a Christmas gift by a relative. Was reluctant at first, but this was one of the best things I’ve ever done in golf. I’ve been a semi consistent player ever since high school but havnt gotten any professional feedback about my clubs in many years. I really appreciated Jeff’s honesty and helpfulness in determining which of my current clubs worked well for me and which ones didn’t. I knew I had some holes in my bag, but this experience was able to pin point exactly what I needed in a putter, driver and irons. I have decided to stick with my irons (ironically my most confident and confident clubs anyways), but will certainly be back soon to buy a 60 degree wedge, a new driver, take an inch off my putter length, and maybe buy a driving iron to replace my rescue. Anyways, thanks a lot Jeff! Pleasantly surprised with how helpful this all was. Excited to start playing the game more consistently again! Jordan

I ordered a Hzrdous Smoke shaft from Maple Hill about 2 weeks ago. It showed up in 3 business days. Unfortunately, the epoxy failed on the club after two rounds (clearly a manufacturing issue). Tristen, the gentleman I talked to on the phone was amazing and is sending me a new shaft after sending him the photos of the broken one. He got back to me within an hour of sending the email. Very impressed with their customer service!

Will be going back. You can hit just about anything you want in a wide variety of shafts. The place was quite busy but the staff did a great job of making sure people were getting the help they needed.

Just bought new clubs. The guys were great. Didnt have the clubs I wanted but substituted different ones for the price of the ones I wanted.very happy with them.

This course is one of my favorites. It’s facilities are in almost perfect condition and it isn’t a hard course that has you breaking a club every round. Another great thing about this course is it’s rates. It is lower than $30 for 18 and a cart at a course almost as good as The Meadows.

Great for beginners

Ordered a set of 3 wedges from Ebay, that had a few issues with shipping, and poor communication, leaving me very frustrated.The reason for leaving a good review though, is down to an employee named Brandon Cook. He understood my frustration, apologized and ensured that they got shipped. He even threw in a dozen balls of my choice. Refreshing to hear an apology, rather than listen to excuses. Assuming my clubs arrive as expected, I’ll be shopping here again.

Over the years I have bought several items from Maple Hill prices are good and service is good. Today I had an opportunity to test their customer service and they passed with flying colors. Last week I bought a GPS from them and went to use on Saturday with no success. Went in today, showed them the issue and promptly replaced the unit. They checked to make sure the new unit was working. I will continue to use them and recommend them to friends.

I was referred to this place after buying a set from the local big retailers in kalamazoo. Spoke with the owner by email because we had a mutual friend who has done alot of business here. I was greater right away and set up with Mike. I couldnt be happier. Not only did he spend the time to find the right irons and drivers but he fixed my hook! Maple Hill Golf has been wonderful! While Im brand new to golf this year, theyve helped this left-handed woman golfer find clubs that have worked GREAT for me! The friendly staff are incredibly helpful and honest to work with!! I enjoyed hitting clubs on the simulator before purchasing them, and their garage sale was GREAT! Their course is a bit tight, but it is well maintained and great for the price. Their greatest assets are their shop and their practice range. The shop is massive and will carry just about everything you can imagine. They usually have great deals on the previous years models and etc. They also have simulation rooms to analyze your swing and give you info on how to improve your game. The range is fairly priced as well, and even though its usually busy, their is always room. All in all, its a good and affordable local spot.

Still waiting for my order! Impossible to get a reply,then when you go around on the phone to talk with someone, its short. The reply I get is the product is coming out of another distributor and the state is closer to me so should get it some time soon.1st. I order 2 weeks ago.2nd after 2 weeks, maybe it will be shipped out?3rd I get 1 of my product ordered.4th no tracking # or any real time frame on my other product ordered.5th. The course itself is not terribly challenging, but its still a fun afternoon. Its well cared for and usually in pretty good shape. It often feels like they are overstaffed, but the staff are very friendly. The product selection is great and they are very competitive, including matching an internet offer.The only real negative I have is the course manager. I played a round and a friend jumped a fence to grab his ball. I understand he should not have done that. The course manager came over and yelled at us, then proceeded to shadow us in his cart for several holes. When my friend finally said something, the course manager told us we could leave if we didnt like it. He then followed us up to the club house and yelled at us again in front of all other golfers. I chatted with one of the managers who apologized profusely, but I have been uncomfortable every time I have seen the course manager since.

I called a head to reserve a tee time and when I got there I was told to do the first 9 holes and see if it’s ok to do the other 9. It wasn’t particularly busy bust was told we couldn’t do the back 9. I was very disappointed as I had my mi d set on 18. If I would have known we couldn’t to 18, I would have went some where else and not wasted my time. I use to frequent this club but that was the last time I work golf there,!!! I never been turned down for trying to play 18. This place is a joke!!!
