I took my car in because the oil light would come on every time I turned the wheel. Well I took it in and they said it was an oil leak if I paid 800$ they could fix. Well I come back with the 800$ and they said I had metal shavings in my oil, they couldn’t fix the car. Then my dads keep started having problems, nothin with the oil light/oil, when he’d come to a complete stop and hit the gas it would rev more than it was supposed to for the amount of speed he would try to go. So we took it in to the same place and they told him that he had metal shavings in his oil and that was the problem . His oil light didn’t come on at all. So how could it be the oil. If my car had oil light on and it turned out it had metal shavings, why would his have the same issue and his not come on. Beside the fact he is 57 years old and though he doesn’t have the tools a shop has, he still knows more about cars then I ever could. In conclusion, wouldn’t recommend.

I spent a lot of time googling shops to get an oil change. Coming from a small town and knowing everyone whos ever worked on my car, its been hard to find a place I trust. I submitted an inquiry on their website and Duke called back. I was able to get in for an oil change quick. I requested a specific oil and Duke had no problem ordering in the brand I requested. I told him when I arrived my car had over heated and he took it upon himself to scope out a few more things. He brought me into the shop and showed me what he discovered. Sure enough two wires were out on my fan. He ordered the two wires and headed to pick them up. Definitely a one stop shop. Duke is extremely transparent and has a lot of experience under his belt. As a young female I didnt feel like he ever talked down to me or was trying to pull a fast one on me. He cares about the work done at his shop and his team reflects that too. Especially at the front desk getting to know the kindest gal in Grand Junction. We chatted the entire time Duke worked on my car making time really fly by. Duke provided quality work and information. I feel very confident in the work that was done and will definitely be going back! Wether its this car or bringing him a car Im interested in to check out before I buy it. I cant say enough good things about my experience with Duke and his team!

My girlfriend and I had some car troubles on a trip and took my car to Atlas after having a bad experience at another mechanic shop in the area. Duke and his staff were very professional and knowledgeable. They made an effort to explain complicated car issues and tell us what we really needed, all while being friendly and courteous. He looked at my car in a timely fashion. In fact, he stayed over an hour past the closing time to take a look at my car and test drive it. He was able to diagnose what was wrong and give us advice on what to do. He wasnt able to get the parts in until later in the week (we werent able to stay), but at least we left with the peace of mind that our car wasnt going to die on our 2,000 mile journey back home (we made it back). On a side note they even recommended local restaurants to try while we waited (they did not disappoint!).Id also like to thank the owner for giving us a first responder discount and letting us sleep in our car in his parking lot!

Amazing amazing amazing. If you’re looking for somewhere to go and you really just don’t know, feel like you can’t trust anybody? I’m there with ya. But these guys know what they are doing, they are honest good people. People you can trust, and you don’t come by a lot of people like that these days.I was stuck in Utah, middle of nowhere with beat red manifolds. Some other issues as well. A mechanic from Las Vegas screwed me pretty good.Luckily with breaks I was able to push to this shop.Within a few hours they got my truck in and started getting to work. When I say they know what they are doing, I mean it. Not even a whole day and they figured it all out, and fixed it all. I’m beyond thankful. They are extremely professional, honest, intelligent, kind good people with integrity.Nevertheless, stop looking at other shops and pick Atlas Automotive for your auto needs and care.

I’m almost a year late on this review, but I still think about it to this day. It was the beginning of the pandemic, and a brake line broke on my journey from CA back to Denver. I was stuck right at the border of Utah and CO, so the closest city to me was Grand Junction. I called around to every shop in the area explaining my situation, but everyone told me they could get the part in for a week. I called Atlas, and not only did they promise to get the part in 4 days, but they also allowed me to park my camper van in their lot and plug into their building for the entirety of my wait. Their customer service truly went above and beyond, and I will never forget the way that shop treated me in one of my precarious positions I have ever experienced. Thanks Atlas!

This place is amazing!!!!! My boyfriend was driving in from California but driving through grand junction, to still have to drive 4 more hours(to avoid paying for a hotel) and this amazing mechanic got him in, a couple hours before closing on a Saturday to fix a “sputtering truck”. I believe it was a spark plug and coil that was replaced. This mechanic and his promptly/timely and willingness to help fix the truck, Allowed my boyfriend to keep on going on his trip and not having to pay for a hotel for the night to wait for parts or anything. The truck is running so amazing now. We could not be more thankful for this mechanic. If I’m not wrong, I believe his name was rick. I would give him 100 stars if I could. Thank you so much

Rick and crew were absolutely incredible! We were driving home from Utah when we started getting some funky noises coming from the van. Of course it was Saturday night and everything was closed but I called them first thing Sunday morning and they said to bring it in but they were busy so might not be able to get to repairs right away. They were pretty quick to get it looked at and explained everything in detail. Got it fixed and we were on our way same day. Very reasonably priced, great service, and genuinely good people. I highly recommend taking your car there. If I lived in junction, I would be their customer for life. Thanks again, Rick and crew!

Our SUV broke down in Moab, the water pump sprung a leak. None of the mechanics in town could work on our car for a week. We were referred to Atlas in Grand Junction by a local dealer. AAA got the truck towed to GJ, Duke @ Atlas ordered ahead the parts and was able to get us back on the road within 5 hours of receiving the vehicle. Their service was impeccable and prices very reasonable. In fact it cost us less than the estimate we had gotten in Moab.Highly recommend this shop to anyone needing car repairs. I have been coming to Atlas for years. I’ve never questioned their services because I thought I could depend on a business I’ve been going to for auto repairs. Recently though I’ve been noticing issues with my car that keep recurring. For example I got my my ac fixed here for a lot of money and now it’s having the same issues that were “rare” to begin with? Paying $1000 for a part that hasn’t lasted me for a year ? On another occasion where I got my window fixed and after waiting around 5 hours for a part they had, and was supposed to be done, but as soon as I left the window still wouldn’t go up. They gave me, my car without checking if it was fixed in the first place. After this whole incident they had to order another part because they didn’t get it right in the first place. After thousands of dollars later I would recommend seeing someone else. I have repeatedly put my trust and money in this business, for poor quality done to my car.

I highly recommend Atlas Auto and Rick to anybody who is having car problems. We broke down outside of Grand Junction with major engine problems and our car was towed there. Rick made us feel very comfortable and assured us that he would be able to repair our car. We live in Denver and so we had to get a rental car and leave our car with him for the week. He kept in contact with us giving a status report on our vehicle. When we returned the following weekend to pick up our car Rick and his team made sure to go over every detail of work that they did for us. They even fixed some other small repairs that our car needed for no additional charge. Rick and his staff are highly professional, highly skilled and trained at what they do. They did not take advantage of us in our time of need. We felt very comfortable that our car was in good hands and that we were given an honest deal. Rick runs his shop with honesty and integrity. I would recommend Rick and Atlas Auto to anyone in the area who is in need of car repairs. My only wish is that we did not live so far away from them so that in case we needed anything else we could take our car to him.Thank you so much Rick for all that you did for our family in our time of need. While my wife and I ate breakfast at a nearby restaurant, his shop worked on it - having it fixed before we got back. They couldnt find the problem on Sunday and their mechanics refused to charge me. We spent the night at their shop for two nights (Sat & Sun) and Rick had his master electrician go over the engine again. By Monday Rick suspected an ignition control module sensor, had his wonderful mechanics fix it and he kept tabs on us along the road, he requested we call the shop once we got to Denver so they would know we got there ok. My car broke down in Utah and I had it towed to Atlas for no other reason than they were the only shop open late enough in a 100-mile radius. That was lucky, because the car broke down on a Friday and it turned out they were the only shop open in GJ on weekends. Rick, the owner, couldve looked at my car the next day, but he stayed an hour late to diagnose the problem before driving my friend and I to a hotel for the night. He continued to work on it early the next morning, and when the costs of repair were going to be too high to justify (a fact verified through speaking with my dad on the phone), Rick bought my car on the spot at a fair price with the intention of fixing it and offering it to a future family in need.Rick and his staff were helpful, hardworking, and kind at every turn, and went out of their way to take care of us. Id give Ricks shop 10 stars if I could. A few weeks ago, I was traveling from Crawford, CO back to Denver on a Saturday afternoon. Around 12:30pm, my serpentine belt fell apart on Hwy 50, 30 miles south of Grand Junction. Unfamiliar with the area, I called my insurance company and a few shops to see about a tow and a replacement belt. Fortunately, Napa in GJ had ONE remaining belt for my 01 Eurovan. And when I asked if they could recommend someone to install it? They said Call Atlas without hesitation. I talked to Rick and he agreed to try and work me in that day. So a few hours later, I arrived at the shop with my van in tow. At first sight, I thought to myself, Oh man...this will be interesting. Atlas is a modest shop, attached to a small convenience store and gas station. I know the Eurovans VR6 can be a pain in the butt for the uninitiated, so I was starting to have doubts about getting out of GJ before Monday...That all changed as soon as I met Rick. With 20 minutes of arriving, he had the serp belt AND the broken tensioner pulley that caused the problem out of the van. He came over and showed me exactly what happened with the part and started work calling around for parts. We had the belt, but the pulley was a surprise. Ricks a certified Napa shop, so they delivered a pulley within about 10 minutes of the first request. But unfortunately, it wasnt the right part. So Rick went back to the drawing board and started thinking through the issue. He realized that the Jetta carried the same engine as my van, and although the bolt pattern in the tension was slightly different, there was a high likelihood that the pulley would be the same. 5 minutes later, Napa arrived with the part, and sure enough - the pulley was a perfect fit. I was back on the road, Denver-bound, by 5:30.And the best part? I was the perfect candidate to get gouged on price. He could have charged me double what he did, and I would have had no choice but to pay up. But he charged a price that was fair (probably generous!), and wished us luck on the rest of our trip. If youre a Grand Junction resident, or having car trouble while passing through, youd be crazy NOT to take your car to Atlas.
