We had the best experience. Needed to get a clamp on the boot fixed on a Ford diesel. Came across this company on our way to Moab. They got us up and running! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend these guys!

The did a fantastic job resolving the problem I had with a generator. We were in a time crunch and they prioritized us and got us back on the road so that we could get home safely.

Charged $3000 for $2000 worth of work. The owner absolutely refused to work with me. This place is either dishonest, incompetent, or both. They charged $1000 for a part they quoted at $800. They billed me 3 hours for a valve cover gasket even though everyone else IN THE WORLD only needs 1 - 1.5 hours. They billed 15 hours for an injection pump on a 7.3 IDI (right on top in front - I can make that repair myself in 3 hours), an oil change, a tire rotation, a door lock actuator, and a valve cover gasket (and the old actuator was already removed!). I have no idea how they can feel right about themselves as mechanics telling me it took them that long to do this work. Great place to get taken for a ride.UPDATE: They installed the door lock actuator incorrectly, and I cant unlock/open my drivers side door. AND Im hemorrhaging diesel fuel. These people shouldnt try to work on trucks. Now I need to take it to a real mechanic and have it fixed a second time. Unbelievable.UPDATE: This place is so dishonest. On 8/1/21, theyre actually trying to convince me that DSI is not affiliated with SKM even though Google Maps, Apple Maps, Yelp, and everyone else points Diesel Services to Shining Knight Machine (both phone number and website). When I made the mistake (which will never be repeated) of taking my truck here, they also told me I needed two batteries (on top of everything else above). I took it straight to interstate, and we put leads to the posts, and both batteries were fine (still are after a year. . .). Someone obviously had just measured at the terminals. And the valve cover gaskets been leaking for months. Again, dishonest, incompetent, or both. . .

When my fiancé and I bought a project 99 chevy suburban we knew the head gasket needed replaced, and it was both of our first time doing a larger breakdown and repair of a motor. After getting the intake manifold removed I noticed a port that was pitted pretty bad (or so I thought). After pricing a new intake manifold and weighing options I was told (and reminded) of the machine work Lee does at Shining Knight Machine. After calling into the shop i spoke with Lee and man let me tell you..... that guy is very knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to talk to me on the phone and really understand what I had going on( my terminology and explanation was bad) and what they could do to help. He offered a part cleaning services in which I was happy to do. After dropping it off I knew I went the right route. I appreciated the fact that even though my purchase this time wasnt a substantial one, he treated me the same as getting a full rebuild. When I picked up the manifold, Lee walked me through again how to install and key pointers to a successful repair. He even went as far as to give me two part identification books for some crankcases and block i have laying around my yard that I asked him about. From now on SKM will have my business and will recommend all day. Thank you Lee for going the extra mile. This noobie/ rookie really appreciates it.Well be driving the suburban in to you as soon as its back together. thanks again.

Had to get my 351 Windsor cylinder heads planed and was referred to Lee at Shinning Knight machine shop by my neighbor who is a mechanic and a local dealership. He found a crack in one of the cylinder heads and found one he had in his shed for a replacement. He ended up changing all the valve springs and got the heads Too Perfect. Ended up costing a little more than I expected due to the extra work that was needed but you get what you pay for. He did an excellent job and even answered the phone when I was having problems with installation and walk me through how to fix it great shop would definitely recommend and go back. A+++
