Thanks so much to the entire Foreign Aid team. From my initial panicked calls from the Rockies with Betsy, to driving the car off the lot, superb communication, service and work. My Mini Cooper had had a tuneup prior to a cross country trip from Cleveland to LA. Got waylaid due to an oil leak.... in the Rockies. Fun. I found Foreign Aid and got in quickly. Steve completely worked with my timeframe and helped get me safely to LA.Highly recommend and truly wish they were in LA.Thanks again for everything!
Audi A4 dumped coolant overheated I called Steve he gave me perfect advice I dropped my car off and within a week he had it back on its wheels!! Steves a good guy Betsy is so kind they had me in and out ASAP! I appreciate what they did for my audi and got me back on the road in pure confidence definitely referring foreign aid!
Or AC broke as we were approaching Grand Junction on our way home to California. Even though Steve had a full shop of repairs he agreed to check out our AC first thing the next morning. He got our AC working quickly so we could continue comfortably on our trip. I appreciated the kindness, professionalism, and competence displayed by his staff and by Steve himself.
Best place ever for any foreign automobile repair and service. Staff is tremendous and very upfront about all repairs and estimates. Highly recommend!
Steve is a skilled mechanic who prioritized fixing my car and got it running smoothly so I could continue on my drive to Oregon. He is a very direct and blunt communicator, but that was ok since his results were good and his price was logical for the work he did. His assistant Betsy is very helpful as well
These are some of the nicest people I have come across! I was out there on a 5 hour drive for a contest when my Cayenne started spilling coolant in the hotel parking lot. I called them the next day, because of the good google reviews I saw, and explained my stranded traveling situation. He was willing to help me and check my car out that day. They helped me get a rental for the day as well, during the extremely busy country jam weekend. It ended up being a blown water pump. He had it fixed within 24 hours, at a great price for what it was, and I had a flawless 5 hour drive back home. Highly, highly recommend them!
Betsy and the crew were incredibly helpful and nice! One of the best car repair experiences I’ve ever had. Seems everyone in town knows and respects this shop. Even the VW dealership sent us there! Five stars for sure!
930 appointment on a Thursday. Dropped my car off on tuedsay. Monday morning still had not even been looked atI had high hopes of finding a nice non dealership shop but this will not be it.
Steve and the team at The Foreign Aid are accomplished professionals and experts in the VW/Audi realm. Their depth of knowledge, experience and level of service are unparalleled. Additionally, you’ll often hang up the phone with a smile on your face and possibly laugh and some of their entertaining banter.
I have an older Volvo that Im currently driving from SoCal to Western North Carolina and pulling my pop up trailer. I felt I wasnt getting the power I needed for the trip, therefore, I went into a Volvo truck sales center and was referred to The Foreign Aid to help with my car.I called and spoke with Steve the owner, who told me to bring it in at 9 am, so Zack can look at the car. Steve is a super nice guy and was very understanding and great with explaining what issues could be happening.Zack began working on my car and explained the codes the diagnostic meter found. Zack also was very helpful explaining the other issues that could possibly arise down the road for me. Zack even found a problem I had a prior mechanic work on with my oil drain plug and he fixed it for me.If you are ever in the area or live in the area and have a Volvo, this is definitely the place to take it to for any kind of service whether it be a problem with the vehicle or just general maintenance. If I lived here, there would be no reason I would want anyone else to work on my Volvo. As I am disabled veteran, the owner Steve Stewart, is a big volunteer and supporter towards veterans and I thank him for all his time and support. The Foreign Aid is a top notch shop and Id liked to thank them for everything they have done for me and my Volvo.
Last week the air conditioner on my 2015 VW Passat stopped putting out cool air. With out-of-state friends flying in for a week and with the oppressive July heat upon us we found ourselves in a desperate situation; get the AC fixed ASAP or get a rental car at the local airport. Who wants to drive through Arches National Park in July with the windows down?!!Fortunately, the team (Steve, Alex and Betsy) at The Foreign Aid chose to respond in a timely manner. Though busy with a backlog of other repairs owner Steve Stewart called and told me to bring in the car. They performed a diagnostic on the AC unit, identified and solved my the problem within two hours! The AC is performing beautifully and I was able to cancel the rental car reservations. The Foreign Aid is my new GO-TO auto service provider!I am exceedingly pleased with their service, the cost of work performed and their efficiency. Good people doing excellent work. Exceptional customer service. I recommend The Foreign Aid without reservation!
We were on a cross country road trip and we ended up dealing with an issue when we were coming through Grand Junction. Luckily we found this place and Steve was able to narrow down what was wrong within 10 minutes. Very knowledgeable and resourceful. If you’re traveling through like we were, this is definitely the place to go.
A little while back I had some issues with my Mercedes. Steve went out of his way to fit me into his schedule immediately and went to every length that he could to possibly help me. He even made me a burger when it was lunch time! In the end Steve wasn’t able to help me with the problems I was having with my particular vehicle, (Sprinter) but if your vehicle is one that he can work on I highly recommend him. Thanks Steve!
Betsy and Steve easy to work with. Good price and great service.
Steve was amazing! I got an engine code on my mini while traveling through GJ and he offered to take a look right when I got into town. Super helpful and and a nice guy.
Steve and his staff were wonderful. We were traveling in a hurry and had a breakdown near Delta, and the garages there wouldnt even look at our car for three weeks, so we towed it to Grand Junction, and they repaired it the next day. They are extremely knowledgable about Vanagons and reviewed everything to assure there wasnt any other problems. The staff was amazing, Betsy the receptionist really keeps in touch and arranges things, Hans is one of the mechanics and very helpful. Steve has worked for many years with Vanagons and knows everything about them. And the price was right - fair and very reasonable. We were very lucky to find them.
Extremely professional and helpful for emergency maintenance on a MINI Cooper as I traveled along I-70. Highly recommended.
Super friendly front staff. Steve fixed my VW quickly and at a very fair price, much cheaper than VW dealership who asks $135 just to diagnose. Very relieved to have them here
Steve was a really great guy, and very knowledgeable. He was busy, and he still took time to look at my car since I was traveling. Ill keep this shop in mind any time Im traveling through the area.
Steve is very knowledgeable in all things MINI. Hes been working on Minis for over 30 years, and is a certified Mini mechanic, which is a great thing if you live near Grand Junction (the closest Mini dealership for service is 250 miles away in Denver). Steve has helped with my Mini on several occasions and has been honest about service needs. Thanks for all your help.
Brought my Audi in here with strange front end noise and engine knocking on cold. I feared the worst to say the least. Had to drop off my car without appointment and they allowed me to leave it there until they could get to it. Once Steve found the problem he could have easily charged me thousands for a whole new intake manifold but really went out of his way to find only the parts needed (OEM of course) and save me ALOT of money. Cleaned up my intake real good as well and now my 13 year old car has never ran better without breaking the bank. I see a lot of negative reviews here but my experience was great. I’d go back again. Thanks Steve and Betsy!
DO NOT TAKE YOU CAR HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Volvo had been there since October and it is still not fixed. I did not get calls before they did things to my car. They would not tell me a price. They where just changing out parts to fix my car.Steve is rude and has some issues maybe drinking who knows. I now owe $2500 and my car still has check engine lights on and now the gas runs out at 1/4 tank because the fuel pump he installed that DID NOT fix anything is don wrong. He wont let me pay with a card wants cash. I am taking him to court.
Betsy and Steve lost for words just a blessing to know you guys and have you work on my car thank you for being very professional and always communicating although you are extremely busy you both are the true definition of customer service for the community, nothing but blessings 🙌.
I have been a mechanic for a long time (not professionally on autos) but the level of care, and courtesy I was shown along with the professional diagnosis and mechanical repair to my Mercedes Sprinter was so good. Steve the owner and his mechanic are class acts. Will refer them all day long! Thanks guys!
Took an older VW bug in and the car needed brakes and fuel line literally say in his lot for 6monthd finally went to get it he tried to charge us for a battery we had just replaced the week before we took it in had to remove his battery ourselves car wouldnt run at all after sitting for six months. Dont bother especially if your a female.
Based on the lack of customer service skills of whomever answers the phone, I would have to say based on that interaction, a. They don’t want any additional business and b. If whomever answers the phone is lacking in customer service skills, 0ne must also question their mechanic abilities, hauling it to Denver for repair/maintenance.
Steve has done a wonderful job on my BMW 4 series. He’ll not only take care of the car but personally explain what work he did on it. With his vast experience in repairing and servicing European cars, Foreign Aid is the place in grand junction for your European car.
Steve did the repair on my 2003 GTI, but the rear window was broken out while being on his lot. Steve would not repair or replace the damaged rear window. He statement is he is not responsible for damages occurred while on his lot.
My daughter had an issue with her Mini Cooper last week. The only dealers are either in Loveland or Salt Lake. And they want $100 just to diagnose the problem. What a predicament to be in! But then she found Steve Stewart at Foreign Aid on 25 Road in Grand Junction. She took her Mini to him that afternoon, he diagnosed the problem for FREE, talked to her Dad on the phone, gained his confidence, lent her a car, ordered the parts, got the problem fixed by the next afternoon, AND had took her car to Big O Tires to have the tire fixed!!! All for a FAIR price! We are all thrilled to have found this shop and this wonderful man!!So much so that I will bring my Beetle the 3 hours drive from south central Utah the next time it needs any kind of service. It is so nice to know that there is a place where you can take your foreign vehicle and have confidence that you will get an honest assessment of the problem and not get ripped off.Especially for a woman alone!!! How many auto shops can you feel like that about?Foreign Aid is a treasure on the Western Slope!
Steve was amazing to work with. Very helpful and honest. He know right way what was wrong with my little Mini.
We highly recommend The Foreign Aid Auto Repair shop in Grand Junction, CO. It is that perfect combination of expertise and customer care. Owner Steve got our Saab 9.3 X back on the road so we could get home after a long road trip. We will bring our car back to Foreign Aid for service and routine maintenance. Thanks to this shop for the excellent help when we needed it most!
My girlfriend and I were on our way to Moab from Denver and our engine completely broke down so we stopped at foreign aid. Steve (the owner) lent us his personal car free of charge so we could continue on our trip. Not only did he help us with our car situation, but recommended restaurants in the area and other fun things to do on our trip.Extremely accommodating and caring, if you have any car troubles, I highly recommend going to foreign aid!Great experience.
On a cross country trip, and ran into an issue after fueling up in grand junction. Called foreign aid and talked with steve. He said drive over, and he’d run diagnostics. Well, he not only ran diagnostics, but spent 2 hours working on our issue. He was great, and helped us while we were in a pinch. Very grateful for the assistance.
If you cant explain it simply, you dont understand it well enough is an adage that comes to mind when I think of the owner, Steve. I could actually understand what was wrong with my car and the steps he was taking to fix it, a nice break from the many mechanics who use confusing jargon. The total price seemed to match the industry average, so there are no complaints there. The lost star is from the length of time repairs took: three weeks. At first it was supposed to be a couple of days, then it was a week, and another week, etc. Steve was very apologetic and explained he had employees out sick, but three weeks was a long time to go without a car. Otherwise, I was impressed with the service and will certainly be returning. I imagine with a full support staff this is a five star business. Thanks, Steve!
Great service!! Steve dropped everything to work on my Sprinter RV when I broke down in Grand Junction. He has the diagnostic tools to find the problem and his prices are very fair. Highly recommended
So, Im driving from the beach in California, and to Boulder CO where our Corporate Rocky Mountain office is for our corporation, Sales Pro Inc. and I badly need an oil change in my Porsche Carrera. We have specialized in crafting Sales & Marketing strategies for launching and expanding businesses for over 40 years, and with a client list that includes and is NOT limited to Google, MS, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Berkshire Hathaway, 20th Century Fox, The Aspen Skiing Corporation, BOA, Wells, Citi, AIG Industries, John Deere, Case, Caterpillar, American Airlines, United Airlines, Weston Hotels, Hilton, Hyatt, and over 3000 small Ma & Pa businesses...so you get the idea of our scope in crafting strategies that grow and increase customer base over the years. I blindly called Foreign Aid from a Google search and discovered a REALLY GREAT AUTO SHOP, and a even BETTER owner/operator in STEVE STEWART. Long story made short, I got the oil change the same day when in reality he was booked for two weeks, and I acquired a really good buddy that REALLY knows his profession, and is phenomenally excellent at service & setting price. Before you WASTE your time/money elsewhere...call Steve!
I can’t say enough good things about Steve and his team. I have a Winnebago View that the check engine light came on. He looked at her the same day. After running the diagnostics and a smoke test they determined she had a Intake Manifold leak and it needed to be replaced. He took the time to show me the new part and the old one. Wow, who does this now a days (they did). They had her fixed and ready to be picked up, but my brother had a serious medical problem back East and I wasn’t able to pick her up for quite awhile. No problem - Steve graciously kept her without hesitation. I picked her up today - she purrs like a kitten now. Wonderful customer service, very knowledgeable to figure out what was wrong. I highly recommend this awesome shop. I can’t thank them enough for all they did and the time they took with me. My Mercedes engine thanks them. They go the extra mile.
Steve is my hero! I was in a bit of a pinch because not only was I having a problem under the hood that needed fixing, but I also had a flat tire at the same time. Without the ability to be in three places at once (my job, the tire shop, and the Foreign Aid), I wasn’t sure how to make everything work. Steve looked at my dilema, and within a few minutes he had come up with a solution that saved my bacon and had my engine and tire problems fixed in 24 hours, all without my having to take vacation time from work! He went above and beyond, and it was hands-down the greatest customer service experience I’ve ever had. If you’ve got a foreign car, and you live anywhere within driving distance of Grand Junction, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Take it to Foreign Aid for your car’s needs- I promise you won’t regret it. 😁
This was our 3rd time using Foreign aid and we are so happy with the service provided. Friendly and professional and kept us in the loop on progress. Highly recommend!Earlier : Fixed a mirror for us at no charge!!
I have all my respect and gratitude for Steve and his team at the Foreign Aid in Grand Junction for their professionalism, promptitude, responsiveness, high quality customer service, kindness, friendly attitude in taking care of my Volvo S40 AWD. I have come here in the last two years for regular maintenance and for any other issues (recommendation for new tires, replacement of battery, etc.) and the quality of the service has been always exceptional! This place is a real treasure for people like me, driving cars manufactured abroad and not having a specific brand car dealer locally.Thank you Steve, thank you Harold, thank you Irina, and thanks to any other person working at the Foreign Aid!Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2020!
Steve was great and very helpful . They did a wonderful job with the brakes on my VW Eurovan .
Went in to see if “Brandon Faith”, worked there. The snake didn’t, he sells lemon cars and isn’t trust worthy. However, had the pleasure of speaking with the owner and he was wonderful! Very kind and easy great to work with! Affordable and trustworthy! Wouldn’t take my cars anywhere else!
I would not take my Mercedes to any other dealer in town. Steve and his staff are very easy to work with and don’t waste your time. I’ve had a few European cars and anytime there’s a problem that needs fixing or an upgrade I want performed it gets taken care of quickly and properly. Steve definitely knows what he’s doing and I trust him to get the job done and done right.
If I could rate more than 5 stars I would! Seriously the NICEST mechanics we have ever encountered- Sonya who answered the phone was so genuine and caring. We have a sprinter van, they were honest and said that they don’t really specialize in our van but then referred us to another mechanic that they trusted- unfortunately that guy was short staffed and couldn’t see us until the following week so we called back and they told us to stop by and see what they could do. They came out to take a look right when we got there and had us back on the road within the hour. Everyone we encountered there was so kind and helpful. These are good honest hardworking people!!
My Check Engine light had been on for a while. It was on, before and after, having work finished by another shop. When I ran into Steve at a feed store, I asked him if I could bring my car to him for a quick look. The following week his staff called me to come in. I did. Wow. The shop is spotless, the work bays are neat and orderly. Theres no odor of petroleum products. Tidy. Steves a wonderful, funny, and knowledgeable man. For my fellow sisters, you wont have to worry about Steve trying to ManSplain anything to you about your car. Problem solved in a few minutes, no charge. If you need a decent shop with skilled folks, I recommend F.A. Good mechanics are a necessary part of life.Thank you Steve !
Cant say enough good things about The Foreign Aid. After an attempted repair from the Other Shop in town failed due to shoddy work, they were able to get our BMW running like a top again. My only regrets are letting the other guys touch it instead of taking it to Steve and his guys in the first place. Take your car here, itll be done right the first time.
Steve & The Foreign Aid team went above and beyond helping me diagnose and troubleshoot my automobile issues, even though I didnt actually bring my vehicle in and wasnt charged anything. Extremely generous and timely response to help me. Thanks!
Steve.. Let me tell you about a very generous and gracious man. Him and his team at Foreign Aid along with a few others donated me an Audi in December. It was amazing and very appreciated. Ever since then when I have had any issue I have gone to Steve and his team and they have been on point and very helpful with me. Thank you so much Steve for everything you have done for me and other Veterans in the valley we all appreciate it and you have made a customer for life!
Steve the business owner was great on the phone and in person! He did a diagnostic on my 2000 Z3 and the problem - dash light on - was fixed. Outstanding customer service! Highly recommended.
Steve worked hard to match our schedules. He greeted me on my arrival, and got to work. First off was a careful inspection which revealed some issues previous inspectors had missed. These he pointed out carefully and clearly, and then got to work. Every step was explained, every effort made to keep costs under control. A great find. Ill be back.
Terrible service. Very slow and very rude. Steve tried to charged me 1000$ for a diagnosis and never called me back to inform me of the diagnosis. Luckily I wasn’t driving the car so when I finally called him back asking what happened he got upset and was very unprofessional
My 86 Vanagon startedleaking engine coolant while in Moab. I discovered Foreign Aid via Roadhaus and took a risk by getting towed 150 miles based on reviews of Steves shop. So happy that I did because Steve was amazing, saw that I was in a hard spot and needed to get back on the road. I needed a new engine coolant resevoir and noone in Moab or Grand Junction had the part. Steve went out of his way to ask buddies around town and found a used part which he then installed in a matter of hours. Not only that, but he gave me the keys to his Audi and let me go grab a coffee in town while he and his colleague did the work. On top of all that, hes just a funny guy. Ive never enjoyed being in a mechanic shop so much. If youve got a VW I can highly reccomend Steves shop. Hes knowledgeable and a good guy to learn from.
Steven and his friendly team helped with a Check Engine light on a long commute across the US heading west in my BMW. They got right on the job and ran diagnostic. Steve said I was safe to travel on and told me where to find help at my final destination for a minor repair. I made it safely to my destination without a problem! Thank you for getting me on my way safely and quickly. Thanks for the peace of mind!
Still remember they installed generator pulley opposite way for $2200 rebuilt VW motor, done and installed by them. That caused generator belt broken loose, eventually completely drained battery. Had to push miles on middle of desert along the side of I-70 Utah. Thought I was going to die there. Learned I need to choose repair shop wisely and need of running in. Thanks for the lesson!
I had my alternator die on me on my way into Utah and managed to make it back to this shop. The service was ridiculously fast; they managed to get me back on the road in only a day. If I had been only a few miles down the road I was told that the same part wouldve taken about TWO WEEKS to come in. The owner even had his wife who happened to be in Denver pick up the part herself and bring it back so it would get there even faster! Prices on the part and labor were very fair, especially considering how fast the service was. I can definitely say that if you have a German car, this is the place to go!
I first brought my M3 to Steve after an extremely frustrating experience at another local European specialist. Unlike his competition, Steve was able to diagnose the issue with my vehicle, utilizing the proper diagnostic equipment and programming software. This allowed him to quickly diagnose and fix the issue, without charging me for hours spent experimenting with possible fixes. Steve has proven to be honest and fair in all of our transactions. I will not take my vehicle anywhere else!
Exceptional care for my car. Went in for an oil change and they found a major engine issue that could have left me needing a new engine. Thoroughly explained the problem and gave me a way to research it myself.
I am superbly satisfied with the service that I have received on my BMW vehicles over the past couple of years. The most recent is a perfect example of how Steve and his group do business: I stopped by with a check engine light illuminated and within 15 minutes my 2011 BMW X5 was hooked up to the diagnostic machine. The news was not what I wanted to hear. However, the estimate was spot on and honest. I was told that my car would be ready after parts were ordered, received and the service performed. The best part was that everything was performed quicker than estimated and the price was as quoted. What I really appreciate is an honest assessment with potential costs spelled out. As BMW owners we are Out in the wilderness in Grand Junction without a BMW Dealer within 250 miles. I need someone to trust with my vehicle. The company I trust is The Foreign Aid to keep me enjoying The ultimate driving experience as advertised by BMW. Sincerely, Kevin Braa
Lots of help and great work
Yelled at me in front of other customers over a price he set completely unbelievable i do not recommend this place or the technaglass on 25th road with a Brandon.
Actually came here by the recommendation of a friend. Steve was great to me, got me in quick, and repaired a laundry list of items on the car. He kept me in the loop with progress updates and even took the time to educate me on the components. Was very up front and honest throughout the whole process. All in all excellent experience. Highly recommend, especially for Veterans!
This is my go to place to get parts for my Mini Cooper. They are really knowledgeable and always willing to help or give me direction on what Im working on. This is the best place around for foreign car parts
I had a sudden cylinder coil misfire with my Audi while I was in Grand Junction for the day. Foreign Aid made all the difference in preventing a disaster of a day. Steve and his staff were helpful, honest, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced - and got me back on the road as fast as possible. They clearly take pride in their clean and orderly garage, and their customer service is efficient and superb. Even though they are well out of my way, I will make them my go-to mechanic.
Thanks again Jessica and Steve! It was such a joy working with you both today! We were happy to know our beloved, old, Volvo can bring someone else joy! Your work to support veterans is inspiring.
You guys were great! Very helpful, affordable, and fast! They made sure I understood what we were fixing, and why it needed fixed.
Steve is my savior! On a trip from Monterey, CA to Colorado Springs, Steve was able to expedite my repairs and even help me recoup money I had spent (for the same repair!) in Las Vegas. Im so grateful, Jim, the tow truck driver who picked me up in Green River knew and recommended Steve. He saved me, and saved the car I love so much! You should but a foreign car just so Steve can fix it 😎!
Service was excellent overall. I had clear answers to all questions that I asked. Communication regarding the repairs was timely and professional. Steve even took a few minutes to talk to the gas station that sold me some bad gas and caused the need for repair. I would recommend the Foreign Aid to family and friends.
Avoid this place at all cost. Was up charged from the original price we first agreed on. After following through with the repair a few days later my vehicle broke down and he would not warrany his work. Steve is a crook and doesnt know what hes doing. If i could leave negative stars I would for his lowsy waste of time and money!
Steve is awesome! Helped me out with some parts with my car. Great customer service
Took good care of my sons car and fixed it at a reasonable rate
Wish you could give a negative star. Oh my bad. Thats his answer to not returning phone calls. Idiot.. I would push my car to Denver in a snow storm before I let this idiot work on it. I dont think I would trust him working on a hot wheels car. Needs a lesson in customer service and a reality check, he is not a god of cars. Worthless.. Stevie just worthless
Steve is a great guy and I highly recommend him. I was in a rush traveling through town in a Porsche 997 and he really helped me out and kept me on the road. Thanks Steve!
Ive worked with Foreign Aid for years on repairs to our cars. Im impressed with their attention to detail and product knowledge. I also love the fact that its locally owned and the owner does a ton of work in our community. He has helped Veterans out for years. Our Vets deserve the respect he gives them!
Foreign Aid was a pleasure to work with. They were able to get my car up and running in one day, which was great because I was riding my bike to work! Jack was very knowledge about my volkswagen and I felt comfortable letting him do the repairs. I will definitely come back to Foreign Aid for future repairs. Good people!
Steve is Awesome! He knows a lot about cars, very knowledgeable.
This business advertises a Veterans Discount for Military Veterans, Ive made it clear that I am a Gulf War Disabled Veteran and they have never offered any sort of discount all the times Ive gone in for repair. What put me over the edge was when I made an appointment to drop my vehicle off for a week to have 3 hours of service preformed on it, came back a week later and the car had not moved an inch. They claimed that they were too busy, but the gentlemen that pulled into the lot the same time as me a week before got his car worked on and back to him promptly. This is not the way to treat your Veterans in a small community. I always pay in full and never dispute services that are offered or suggested. I want is an honest, reliable mechanic not someone that takes advantage of Veterans by claiming they offer a Veterans Discount.
Had a problem with my Audi while on a vacation road trip. Steve was awesome and he and his staff seem very knowledgeable with German cars. I got the car to his shop late in the afternoon, and Steves guys had me back on the road by noon the next day. If I lived in this area he would be my go-to shop for anything to do with my car.
The owner Steve did a great job on my BMW. He went out of his way to make repairs on my car while I was on the road. He knew of my time restrictions and made the effort to make it work. He was very knowledgable with the vehicle and easy to communicate with.
We lost our keys to our old Lexus. The easy option everyone suggested was tow it the dealership! Which is in Denver! Fortunately for us, Steve did his magic! Not sure what he had to do but I think we are going to be able to have keys WITHOUT towing the car 242.9 miles!!! Thank you Steve for all you do.
Man oh man. Audi broke down near Grand Junction on our way to Omaha, so we brought it to Steve and his guys. It was near the weekend and they dont work on the weekend, which could have been a disaster because we would have missed school. Luckily, Steve and his guys put me in priority cuz of our situation, and did all their best to do it quickly, and correct all while keeping the price down! You gotta come here, great people! The town aint too bad either, you can play pool and drink :]
Thanks for getting the sprinter back in the road, Steve.
Steve and Jack bent over backwards to replace the clutch in my VW Beetle after it was smoked on a road trip. Knowing we were stranded they lent us a car and moved around their schedule to get us back on the road quickly. Very knowledgeable and trustworthy staff. Highly Recommended.
Extremely rude to his workers and to us. Toxic. Very suspicious of the way he operates. Do not trust.
Although I had already had my car diagnosed and it needed a CV boot per last inspection. These guys charged my 48.88$ to tell me yes I do, then changes a tail light for 48.88 more. If I could have afforded the repair before I can’t now! They also said I needed two boots now and a new axel! What the dealership just diagnosed this last week, can you say upselling! Never coming back!
These guys are awesome. Very knowledgeable, friendly and fast. Had car troubles while visiting Colorado and they really helped me out. Thanks you guys.
Ive had a run of bad luck with car issues over the past few years, and a similar bad luck with mechanics. I actually found the Foreign Aid after having a problem that two other mechanics in Grand Junction were baffled by. One of theme referenced me to Steve, and so long as he keeps providing the level of service Ive come to expect from him, I dont see myself needing to find another mechanic ever again.Overall the service is excellent. Consistently, when I bring my car to Steve, the problem is identified correctly and promptly, and then resolved quickly and efficiently (and always for a competitive price). I also appreciate that Steve takes the time to walk me through the problem with my car over the phone before he requests permission to order parts and start work, and gives me an accurate and reasonable quote on the price every time.Like I said, I plan on returning to the Foreign Aid with any car issues I may have in the future, and I would (and will) absolutely reference my friends and family to them. Thanks for everything Steve, and I hope I wont be seeing you too soon :)
Steve saved me! We were just passing through GJ and late in the day we had a problem with our Audi. Steve and his crew stayed late and he still took the time to educate me on proper service and fluids for our relatively newer Audi. He corrected some previous shoddy service and made some recommendations regarding service intervals and requirements for our car that will keep us on the road for years to come. Theres no Audi service in our town, but I would consider driving 2 hours just to have Steve and his crew service our car. Prices are extremely reasonable given Steves highly specialized knowledge of German cars especially. I would highly recommend The Foreign Aid to anyone.
I found the initial quote to be accurate for the work done, the service excellent, the quality outstanding and the price fair. Steve knows the BMW models well and I would highly recommend The Foreign Aid for BMW service and repair issues as well as for other German car models.
Highly recommended!!! Steve did a great job diagnosing our vehicle when others told us nothing was wrong. Definitely going back for future business!!!
This shop is great!! They have worked on both of our Beetles. Even my temperamental turbo is running great due to their work. The prices are very reasonable and the work reliable
Steve and Harold help me out to unmeasurable extents. They are extremely knowledgeable amd highly experienced. My van Broke down 30 miles from grand junction. I got a tow to their shop and they were able to work us into their extremely busy schedules and send us back on the road the next day. I cant thank these guys enough. If you need your car looked at in the grand junction area... GO TO THE FOREIGN AID!!!!
These guys are great! Friendly, super knowledgeable, and very fair pricing.I was driving across the country from California to Colorado with my father when we received a drivetrain malfunction warning on my BMW X3 in Moab, Utah. A local mechanic recommended Steve at Foreign Aid. We reached out to them via phone and they helped talk through the issue. Andrew at the front desk helped give us confidence that we could make it to Grand Junction if we drove moderately and also provided us a phone number to a tow company in case things went south. Luckily we made it to Foreign Aid with no further issue. When we got to Foreign Aid, they were nothing but professional and friendly. First, they were extremely accommodating and started investigating our issues right away. They checked out every aspect of the car, diagnosed the issues, and helped fix it. Honestly, I felt that my understanding my BMW improved drastically from talking with those guys. Steve is incredibly knowledgeable on foreign cars and it is reassuring to know that there is a great mechanics not too far from me.Brendan
The Foreign Aid and Steve took excellent care of my sons 4 Runner. Steve even took the time to tell him what had been done and a few things to look out for. Very professional. Thanks Steve
Steve took care of a quick diagnostic on my BMW while I was passing through town on a road trip. He was very knowledgable, honest, and fair. Id highly recommend this shop.
I own 3 German cars and none of them are covered by any sort of factory warranty. I live almost 250 miles from the nearest BMW dealership and getting any sort of work done on my cars is a real pain in the butt to say the least…. until I found Steve and The Foreign Aid. Now I take all 3 of my cars to Steve for ALL of their required service and maintenance and I couldn’t be happier. Steve has a passion for German cars and it shows. He is very knowledgeable and resourceful and gets the job done right. I have always felt that I was treated fairly and was charged honestly for the work that was done. No doubt BMW’s are expensive cars to maintain and to expect otherwise is ridiculous. What you should expect is honesty and Steve is as honest as they come.
I will never take my Mini to anyone else! The folks are amazing. Steve even connects with me afterward to make sure the car is running well.
Our VW Tiguan broke down as we were traveling through Grand Junction. I showed up without an appointment right when the shop opened. Steve got our car in immediately and was incredibly knowledgeable and honest. Felt like he treated us like a family member. Highly recommend!
I would highly recommend to anyone in the Grand Junction area. He knows BMWs very well and is very prompt and accurate with his estimates on repair costs.
Steve knew exactly what was going on with my pourly idling car, it was running rich because of the altitude. He pointed this out, helped me adjust the fuel mixture, and sent me on my way without charging me. Awesome garage, good people!
