Cheap and easy bulk topsoil. Entrance is one lane at a time though, definitely not user friendly or safe. Ownership should consider expanding to accommodate the large flow of traffic on weekends, especially since it opens to a busy road. More organized parking lot would be beneficial as well.

Best variety of plants in GT. This nursery is beautiful and within a good location in Williams drive. Their selection of plants is great and the plants are always well cared for. This family has done a great job growing their business during the last couple of years. There are a bit separated from other businesses, which typically commands a higher price point. However, I would encourage the owner to benchmark their pricing against locations close by. I found certain items to be 20 or 30% higher than McIntires, which could be driven by vendor cost, but I noticed it across a diverse group of items (sprays, pots, plants). At some point it becomes discouraging.

This nursery is over priced and the people are rude. I am not sure what I did but this man that worked there kept following me like if I was going to steal something. I was looking for a certain kind of rose bush that you can trim and grow to look like a tree and they have a few that were $119. I purchased 3 last year from Snoopers in Round Round for $30 each and they were beautiful and these Knock Out rose tree looked like they were dying and they want $119. This place is a joke and I would NOT recommend it ever. Just because you all are located in the higher priced part of town doesnt mean you should over charge people. If I could give no stars I would.... Update found the Double Knock Out trees at Lowes in Round Rock for 34.98.

I am not a gardener and wanted some ideas of non blooming plants etc. A man was sent out to help and showed some plants. I asked about cactus and he pointed me to the front. But bf I could ask for further help he was gone. Very arrogant. Very pricey place. Mctyrre was better priced.

Hillside is my go-to nursery. Their prices are reasonable, selection and quality are fantastic, and the staff is just wonderful. They have answered every question Ive asked, and have volunteered to help me load my purchases when my hands were full with my little one. Their garden decor is beautiful as well!

Great selection of plants and pottery. A little high on the pricing, but they have such a great variety and a friendly, helpful staff. Everything is in beautiful condition as well.

Need a place to lose yourself for an hour and still come out with money in your pocket? I stumbled across this place today and am pretty disappointed that I havent ever driven 100 yards past Randalls to see whats out there before today. I will DEFINITELY be back soon AND in the spring! In March 2021, I scheduled an appointment with Hillside Nursery for them to come out and measure my lawn for new grass. The first available appointment was on May 13, 2021 @ 5:00 pm. I took off work early so that I could be at home for the measurement. No one ever showed up. No one called. I called Hillside Nursery on May 14th to ask what happened, the girl I spoke with said she didnt know but I was definitely on their schedule. and she would have me rescheduled for the 14th after 5pm. I had to get my daughter to stay at my house to wait for someone to show up. Once again, they were a no show. Would not recommend.

Had an appointment to have some bushes planted and they never showed up. Called and was told the team didnt show up because of the rain (it wasnt raining that day, had rained the previous day). Told them I wanted my money back. Gave me a credit and 4 days later it is still pending in my account because they didnt clear the credit for 2 additional days and I am still waiting for it to clear my account.

Although we didnt purchase anything this trip, they gave us great advice for a solution for getting our existing water fountain in working condition again. While there, my husband and I looked around the always extensive garden plant options to plan out more areas of our on-going gardening projects. We noticed even more beautiful new pottery and fountain additions as well as arbors. Hillside is always fun to explore!

Ethan, has done many jobs for me from the initial landscaping from the house being built on a one acre lot, I have used him for several other jobs as I add to my landscaping, rocking areas, to retaining walls, and all irrigation needs. All has come out great, with great follow up if any issues arise.thanks again

Nice selection but a bit overpriced.

We have only been to one other nursery besides hillside and theyre both fine businesses but we liked the selection of trees at hillside along with the friendly atmosphere. I always try to buy local even though I know the prices may sometimes be a little higher. I personally found their prices to be fair. And plan on being a regular.

Never have they tried to talk me down on my prices nor would I do that to them. I like the place because like my business its a family owned and operated business. Oh my, we visited on a Sunday before closing. We met every staff member. This is family owned and operated, and they emphasize knowledge of drought tolerant, deer tolerant, and Texas Summer Sun tolerant. Selection was incredible, prices decent, and regular vendor stocking makes sure they have what you want or else they order it.

I needed St. Augustine sod for some patchwork on my yard. I called yesterday to confirm they had it, and I was told they did and it was quite reasonably priced per square. This morning I get up at 7am and drive out to pick up the sod. I arrived 10 minutes early and noticed while walking around, looking and waiting for them to open, that some of the plants looked a little stressed. I also noticed pallets of old, dry sod, left to die. As soon as the doors were unlocked I go in and ask to purchase the sod I called about yesterday. I was told they only have the old, dry, pretty much straw sod out on the pallets. WHAT!?! Who tells their customers they have sod when in fact they only have practically dead and dry sod? I just drove 25 miles to pick up what I assumed was healthy sod. I mean, why not be honest and tell anyone inquiring that its 1inch from dead. A complete waste of time, miles, and fuel. Ive just gotten home and posted this immediately to help others stay away from this nonsense. Stupid people are making my life difficult.Response to owner 07/28/19Are you telling me that you sold and delivered pallets ( I was told you had pallets) of fresh grass after my 4pm call on a Friday and coming to buy some the next morning at 8am?? Are you also telling me that you sold the 2 pallets I saw of dead sod in the 24 hours since I was there? Nobody would have bought the dead sod..it was straw!! You know, I read your other responses to others that are less than happy with your business, and you made mention to one that youre family run and cant compete with big box stores on price. So to me, the one thing you should be able to run circles around the big box store is in customer service and honesty. Both of which in this instance, you have failed miserably in. What you should of said to me was a simply Im sorry...without nonsense excuses or directives on how I should do business with you. Just a straight apology.

As others have stated, they have a wonderful selection of plants and pots. Prices though, are very high. Thats why I am only giving 3 stars.

Not a Happy Customer Had them come out, $50 fee- explained in great detail by name the plants (Texas natives) and asked that the sprinkler system be checked. I asked them out in the winter stating no work would be done until spring. Have called and been by the business several times for a response. I did not sign the bid because of the plant selection. I did however expect someone to work with me. No response,

We hired Hillside Nursery to do some landscaping and to rework our irrigation system, wanting to support a local small business. 2 sections of the irrigation system need to be reworked because what Hillside did; its worse than its original state. Believe me, I wish we had never called Hillside Nursery and had hired someone else instead. And trying to get the irrigation people to correct the problems is useless.
