The service was excellent. Everyone in staff today was extremely helpful and friendly. Although my group was defeated by a trolley, when we got the electric scooters we had the time of our lives. I highly recommend renting vehicles from the “cutest little gift shop in Galveston”.

Blake was phenomenal with helping us with a last minute golf cart rental. We had a fantastic time exploring Galveston with her help! We will definitely be back to see her and the Saltwater Gift Shop…a Galveston trip must!

The bikes are cool but the service was awful. They were so rude the second we came in and then when we returned the lady said “im surprised y’all didn’t crash me and the other guy had a bet which one was going to crash” …….. the guy outside was super cool/nice though.

We rode the escooters for one hour at $65 total for my husband and I and they were a ton of fun. However, the male and female in the office who “ran the show” were disgustingly rude. We will be riding escooters next time we are here, but I promise you we won’t be renting from Salt Water Gift Shop. We will happily pay a competitor double the money to not be treated with such disrespect. Worst place in Galveston.

Truly an experience that has formed a lasting memory! My family visited Galveston from Colorado Springs and had the opportunity to rent these large wheeled electric bikes and had a blast! The staff at Salt Water Gift Shop went over and beyond to make our experience as safe as well as fun. The process is simple. You review simple rules, (this helped us first timers), then a quick orientation on how to handle the units. Thats it! I highly recommend Salt Water Gift Shop. Im a person of few words, so trust me when I say our experience is something thatll last us a lifetime!! I thank the staff, and look forward to our next visit!

I absolutely love the Salt Water Gift Shop! They have one of thebest selections for souvenirs around town and with good prices forsuch a cute little place. Very fun, cute gift shop. There are bigger places on the Island,but I dont think they are better. Great little spot on the beach tograb cold drinks, including a great selection of ice, coolers, coldbeer and wine coolers. You can also buy beach items like boards,chairs, towels, sand buckets, sunscreen, lip protection, and more. Mygrandchildren absolutely love coming here, because they have a greatselection of toys too. Plus they have those great $10 bathing suitsfor ladies.

The woman that we spoke with in the beginning was very nice and helpful. SHE NEEDS TO BE THE OWNER AND THE FACE OF THE PLACE !! When we attempted to return one of the bikes back to the shop (BECAUSE OF THE HORN NOT WORKING) the man sat behind the counter not acknowledging my cousin in front of him whatsoever. We ended up leaving because we didn’t want to waste our time with just dry waiting for him to come and help. When bringing it back to the shop the man had THE WORST ATTITUDE as well as threw our driver’s license on the table. I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE !

Although yall were very busy that day, he had all the answers to our questions and made the process quick n easy with the best humor! I absolutely love them!!! they go above and beyond customer service! I live in Oklahoma City and when I was visiting Galveston I accidently forgot to grab a very important souviner from a shop, so once I got home I emailed every shop I found with an email address if they had the same souviner I could buy and have shipped to me, These guys were the only ones who responded. They unfortunately didnt have the specific souviner I was looking for BUT Bert the person I spoke to went to the store who sold it, bought it with his own money and he is going to ship it to me in the next few days. Doing that for me meant so much. They are truly amazing people, not many people will do that for someone. I definitely recommend stopping by their shop. 💖💖💖

The shop is amazing! It’s great to see small shop owners genuinely care about their customers experience. We took pictures by the beautiful mural on the buildings side wall and enjoyed the unique toys and trinkets inside. Great selection of cold drinks, snacks and little necessities. The guy at the register is super knowledgeable of all the other fun attractions and helpful if you need anything. The rental crew obviously works really hard keeping the scooters and bikes top notch! I know it’s a harsh environment next to the ocean but the bikes and scooters work great! Fun time and thank all of you for your commitment to making an awesome day!

Terrible service...on return.We were having a great time on three bikes until we found out one of the bikes did not have a working horn. On return, the old Caucasian man behind the counter was rude and callous. He was harsh and threatening with returning our identification cards.This was my second time renting from this place. My experience the second time was far below my expectations.That IS my last time ever helping finance a place like this. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Came here to celebrate our birthday but the Golf Carts are unsafe here and busted. We did not leave the parking lot and asked for a refund and they refused. Terrible customer service. Do not shop here.

I visit Galveston beaches often and have a great time! On a recent trip, I decided to stop by this place to check out the scooter and surrey rentals. I was greeted by a pleasant smiling face who was extremely energetic and informative about the rentals available and the prices of each item. Ask for Sommer to get all the scoop on rentals, gifts, and swimsuits inside the shop! Ill definitely be back to check out the red scooter with the side car!

BUYER BE WARE they have old equipment that will break as soon as you take off and they will refuse to give you a refund! They have one tiny piece of paper that says all sales final which they cover with the credit card machine these people are in the business of robbing others want a good time go one block up in either direction you will find way better customer service and bikes rentals! Originally went to rent a surrey at the shop next door, “ island bike”. They were so rude! So I walked over to Saltwater gift shop. Wow! What a difference! Brianna was so sweet and funny!🤪 we ended up renting two scooters and had the most fun! A much better way to ride the seawall!

Terrible experience. The lady that was working was extremely rude. Not only did she hit her dab pen before checking us out, which isn’t a big deal, but she also bodyshamed my friend telling her to get a bigger board because of her size. Minding you that the bigger boards were nearing $80 while the one she had picked out was $25. I definitely do not recommend this place, if you go prepared to be judged 🙂

This place has dangerous rides I know of at least a dozen people injured at this place broken bones and you are responsible for damages and your own medical bills .Im never going here again.

Best little bike shop on the Island!!! They have a great selection of bikes, surreys, stand up e-scooters, sit down e-scooters, trikes and now golf carts!!! Inside they have all sorts of goodies and trinkets to remind you of your trip or for a special someone back home, and even some great deals on bathing suits. Ladies, ask for Sommer and about her Swimsuit of the Week. Sommer is also very knowledgeable about the local area and can give great recommendations on restaurants and other things to do and see. I have been in several times and never had bad service. Some other reviews mention chains breaking or batteries running out, but when something like that does happen, they go above and beyond to replace your rental or offer, even running down to 61st on one occasion to replace batteries. They do go through a whole spiel with you when renting as well as have you read over a piece of paper explaining the rental policy. If you have any questions, ask! This helps avoid any confusion after the rental is paid for.

We rented the largest family bike. Before we left we mentioned one of the tires was low. It was filled before we left. While out for 15 minutes it popped. We called the shop and had to walk the bike all the way back. Including the walk back we were out for less than an hour. We were refused a refund and instead were given 3 flat soda bottles. The bike was fun while it lasted and this place would have gotten 5 stars if it werent for the way they handled this situation. We essentially paid $50 dollars for three flat sodas and to push a big heavy bike in the hot sun.

Customer service is very important! The(older) guy inside wasn’t interested in our business at all. Became very nonchalant when he saw my dark skinned husband enter the store. On the other hand the gentleman who retrieved the bike from us was very polite and even asked how we enjoyed the ride!

We were staying at the HotelGalvez and we went out and rented some chairs and an umbrella from theattendant in front of the hotel. We asked him about a place to gonearby to get some adult beverages and some snacks and he pointed usto the Salt Water Gift Shop. We could see a cute little blue buildingjust up the seawall. We walked over and my husband was immediatelytaken by the 4 wheeled bikes, they call them surreys. They also had abit line of electric mopeds out front. We talked to them about thebikes and scooters and got their brochure. We bought a few adultbeverages and some salty snacks to take back to the beach and continueenjoying.

Rented a bike for 4 people for an hour, it was 35.00. Honestly had a blast. The lady at the counter wasnt the friendliest, but I wasnt inside long but to pay so I guess it doesnt matter. The bike was definitely worth the money though.

$97.44 for 3 bikes. One of the bikes did not work right. The lights did not work. The brakes did not work! The honk did not work(the green one)!!! The owner said it the electric thing for all threee things! It’s the white fat guy in the front! I did not care about the money till the guy said I don’t care about your health or satisfaction! My family and I went to this place trying to have a good time so we rented a 6 seater but as soon as we pulled out the CHAIN to the BIKE BROKE they refused to give us a refund and said (very rudely) we could wait for another 6 seater that would be back with in 10 min... this was a lie after 10 min my mom went to check on the bike and the man said we in fact had to wait 45 min for a bike! These ppl are scammers it’s unfortunate because we will have to see them again since we had to get credit for the bike smh. One block down is a location with award winning customer service! It’s sad that people are out here robbing others just to make a few bucks... IF YOUR BIKE BRAKES ON YOUR CUSTOMERS YOUR “FINAL SALE” POLICY SHOULD NOT APPLY ITS YOUR MISTAKE NOT OURS. Shame on you SALTY WATER.

Absolutely loved the customer service from Sommer, she was very helpful and knowledgeable.

We rented four bikes today in hopes of having a good time. The bike chains were rusty and the bikes were not in good condition but we still had our hopes up trying to enjoy a good time In Galveston and then when we we’re heading back two of the bikes, the chains broke and we had to put them back our selves and they did not have any sympathy towards their customers. Honestly this is the last time making business with this company. Very disappointing.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! My family and I stopped by because we were interested in renting a 6 seater. My niece entered looking to buy some gum as well but the lady did not acknowledge her. I walked in with her and the lady at the register (who I later found out is the manager) looked at both of us pretty annoyed as if we were interrupting something very important. Then proceeded to ask us with a horrible attitude can I help you? I explained that I was hoping to rent one of the 6 seaters they had outside. She sighed and repeatedly told the other lady behind the counter that they would go over what they were doing later. As someone who has worked in customer service for quite some time I understand there are things that may be time sensitive, that being said it is NEVER acceptable to make a customer feel as if they are not welcome and they are a disturbance. The other lady at the register was kind and processed our payment. When we got back from enjoying our ride I went back in the store to get my ID. She still had the same stank face from earlier. She asked for my name and then threw my ID onto the counter infront of me and sarcastically said hope you enjoyed it. I walked out quite upset by the lack of service but I decided to go back in and ask for a manager because it was just unacceptable. I walked back in with my brother-in-law and asked for a manager. She rolls her eyes and points to herself as if we knew that she was the manager. I told her that it was VERY rude and she lacks customer service. She stated that she didnt mean anything by it and that she was sorry that I MISUNDERSTOOD. There is no misunderstanding; she was RUDE from the second I stepped foot into the store with my niece. It says a lot when a MANAGER has a terrible attitude and lacks good customer service. Very disappointing.

My husband and I stopped in here to rent a Surrey. 20$ for 1 hour. We returned the bike 8 minutes after we left because I am too short to reach the pedals therefore this was something I could not do unfortunately. We explained why er had to return it and did not receive a refund. Very disappointed..I hate that this took another opportunity to experience something on the island from us and we paid $21.00 for 8 minutes. Im 50 with shorter legs, would not recommend if you are smaller. Disappointed in this shop.

Be sure to read whatever you sign. you are charged $27.05 as soon as you rent a stand up scooter for the 1st hour, then you are charged $15 for additional hours, keep in mind theses stand up scooters last for at less a hour and you will have to return them either charged or not.P.s. you may have a chance not be charged for additional hours if your scooters dies, if you call with under a hour.

Ive been coming to the island my whole life and have never gone in this shop until today. Not only do they rent bikes and more, they have everything you need in one little shop. Reasonable prices too! I love that they have a lot of hand made items made by locals.
