Ive always loved the Pale Peoples Pancake Place!Service was efficient, always kept drinks full, we were sat relatively quickly, and food came out hot!Theres a variety of country-style foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. An awesome selection for sides as well! All in all, a great experience and affordable!
Always an amazing experience. They were busy the night we went, but shopping in their store before being sat for dinner is perfect. Found a few Christmas presents as we waited. We were sat quicker than they said. We had our go to Grandmas breakfast -- pancakes, eggs 3 meats and a side as well as the new turkey dinner. This dinner comes with 2 sides as well. The dumplings are always made perfect. The hashbrown casserole is so fantastic, we never leave a bite to take when we go. The night ended with a piece of pecan pie as well as the new cinnamon roll pie. Go get some great food at at a great price. 👍
Always enjoyed this place and the food. This time was different. Had a group of 4 adults and 6 kids. We were told that it would be 35-40 min wait. Then got a text saying 50 min.An hour and a half later after multiple big groups were seated before us, went to the front desk to ask what’s going on. We were told that they are still waiting for a big table for us. So we tell them to split us up. And what do you know, 5 min later we got a table to fit us all. Please be honest, and if there an hour and a half waiting period, let the customer know that. Not lie about it and 5 more minute us.
I absolutely love coming here. It is not just a meal but an experience. They have such a fun and charming front store with something for everyone. I always buy the most unexpected and random things there. Cute clothes, seasonal decor, novelty candy, novelty toys, homemade mixes, cookware and the list goes on!The food is down home cooking like you could make at home without slaving all day making it and cleaning it up. Their biscuits are the best!
I needed some comfort food and they have the best around. I will definitely go back since it is so nice having a cracker barrel that doesnt take so long to drive to. Not expensive for the quality of the food. It is top notch if you are into American cuisine and southern classics.
I come from the east coast. Up north in Philly mainly. But I lived in North Carolina for 4 years also. And the green beans I get back east is waaaay different from these. I feel like the flavor and seasoning is all wrong here for some reason. Maybe Utah do they own thing. But when go here I expect those green beans to flavorful. They cod filets were nice sized and delicious.
The Servers were AMAZING the food was ok. That 1-hour waiting time was ridiculously unheard of. I understand there were 15 people in our party and we were told our table should be ready by 11am, we got there @ 10:50am == 10 minutes early... and literally waited for an hour (12 noon) to get seated smh
These guys are awesome with their store. Only place to get clove candy that I have been able to find
Our first time eating here and the restaurant definitely lives up to its reputation. The food was absolutely delicious. The pancakes were out of this world. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that they told us it would take 30 minutes to be seated, and it ended up being more than an hour wait time. Next time were gonna show up earlier!
Alaina (the one with the red hair), our server, was one of the most professional, most kind, most pleasant server. She genuinely made our experience there wonderful
We were a big group. 14 of us. The waitress did great sat us apart but same are. Then the shop was great I got to shop as I waited for my food. Good prices, food was on point, great staff. Glad we decided to stop in.
Wonderful experience! Food was yummy and the wait staff was awesome (even though I could see the anxiety and stress on her face) Folks, these people are doing the best that they can do. Please be kind and patient and for Gods sake tip em well!
Went for a birthday lunch. Comfort food at its best. I dont know if it is spectacular if you are looking for lower calorie options, but if you love southern cooking like, fried okra, chicken and grits, this is the place. I love the biscuits and cornbread muffins. I had fried chicken tenders with a maple glaze barbecue sauce and fried okra with dill ranch dip. Excellent. Highly recommend. Also purchased a dress at the country store. Service was good, food was good.
The food was okay, it didnt come out hot and over cooked my steak just a little bit the dumplings were SO good, my kids mac and cheese was good. The waiter would take quite a while to get our food and drinks out and she wasnt super friendly. We usually love it here but last night was not as good as usual.
We had a phenomenal experience this morning at the West Valley Location! Our server Theresa was SUPER amazing and did a wonderful job despite being short staffed in the kitchen. She was perfectly professional and got us our food in a timely manner. Our food was perfectly in line with our expectations of Cracker Barrel and we will be returning!
Was super excited to finally go to a cracker barrel! Was not worth the price sadly, food was stone cold after a 40 minutes wait to get what looked like it could have been slopped on the plate from a Grits had a film on them and were stone cold. Our waiter and the gift shop was cool though. #justiceforbradswife
Ordered take out got the meatloaf. It tasted off, and shortly after eating part it, I got sick. Looked under cooked too. I order from delivery service, otherwise would took it back. Disappointing to say the least. I havent eaten here in awhile. Wont be ordering from here again anytime soon.
Very friendly workers. A little too busy for me..... The food was good.
Decent food and a cool staff. This place has a pretty good breakfast with a lot of solid menu items. All the classic and your grandparents favorites. If you like grits then this is the place for you. If you don’t like that kind of food at least the staff is nice and the have a fun gift shop you can check out while you wait, which may be a while because this place is slow!
Bad food they were very good but going down hill
This was my first ever Cracker Barrel as a East Coaster coming to the west for the first time, and it was delicious! Got the standard chicken & dumplings and man it was good! Awesome sides and main dishes, nice employees.
I love cracker barrel! Usually pretty fast service, and always good food. My favorite thing to get is the double fudge coca cola cake! So delicious!
Very nice place 👌 we like the fact the wait wasnt long on a Friday night Sept. 2020 during Covid-19 we literally waited for 7 mins. There was sickers on the floor to stand on 6ft apart from each other outside of the store. The shop is the very first thing youre walking into so parents beware! They have all kinds of old school candies, cream sodas, a beautiful gift shop especially right now its fall items and Xmas items! So beautiful (kind of like kohls mix with world market), they sell good quality clothes too for women, kids, toddlers & babies. I didnt see much of men apparel but there are other stuff/gifts. The restaurant itself was clean and very well put in place for Covid19 safety, everyone wore masks and cleaned after each costumers table. Our waiter Sarah was great, attentive and on it, she has a honest opinion about the menu. We liked how counrty/50s feeling this dinner has and it made us feel very comfortable and the kids loved it. Our food was so delicious, juicy and the little glass syrup bottles were free to keep 😋 👌 its definitely a place to take your family to go eat, at anytime of the day especially if your family is from out of state! Big windows, felt roomy, high ceilings, neutral colors, great lighting, ac running perfectly, bathrooms clean 💫 will be hard for a wheelchair to go through the shop to the restaurant but the restaurant itself has plenty of room for any type of wheelchair ♿ 🥰 this place is for families and couples and if your single well theres plenty of room for your friends to come with you and have fun too! 👍 😊 one more important thing... ICE PEACH TEA is a must try! Very dangerously delicious 😋 😜 we bought half a gallon to go! It was bomb! 💣💯 there was a healthy mixer of ethnicity here! And thats important for us since we are a mixture of ethnicities 😉 too. 🤎🖤💛💖
The food quality has gone way down. My husband and I went to the Cracker Barrel in West valley City, Utah yesterday and the pancakes were rubbery and so cold it wouldnt even melt the butter. You have taken the blackberry topping off the menu which is really a traversty and the ham was very very thin sliced and it was so overcooked it was so dry you could hardly eat it. We are seriously thinking of taking cracker barrel off of our places to go to eat.
We used to come here quite often pre-covid. Then finally got the chance to go again this year. I’m sad that they took out some of our favorite dishes out their menu: yogurt parfait and big blueberry muffin. The wait for our food was almost 30 minutes from when we ordered it. My pancakes were burned. I guess I won’t be coming back anytime soon. Besides the food disappointment they do have a cute little store with lots of cool old school candy!
All depends on your server, but good food and fair prices. Love the gift shop.
Sorry, this Cracker Barrel does not rise up to a good level. Im giving this place a 2 based solely on our server. I understand that getting folks to work right now is difficult. That said it shouldnt excuse poorly prepared meals. Over done extremely dry chicken, biscuits and cornbread better used as hockey pucks, and more.
I stopped in on Thursday around 5pm. I was sat at the table quickly. Waitress came over and took my order quickly. The food took about 15 minutes to come out. Meatloaf, hash brown casserole, green beans. Each item was cold not even warm. I told the waitress the food was cold. She offered to take the food back to be warmed up. I asked for the check and told her no.The issue I have is once my order was taken I noticed another couple was sat down and received their food before mine. My waitress went on a break with another waitress. She checked on her other tables and then after that my food was brought out cold.I paid for my food and I also left her a tip on the table.I will not return. This is not the first time I have received cold food. If I wanted to eat cold food I would eat at home. Food should come out warm not cold. The name of the waitress started with a M not sure her full name.
Im disappointed every time I decide to dine at this place. Although the retail side has maintained its class the restaurant is an utter disappointment every time. The only was it a 47 minute wait for her to go order but we literally were asked if theres any reason why we were still there three times. To missing items with our food not a single manager has wanted to bother to help. I dont want anything for free I just want them to know how poorly the restaurant is being run and that I will not be back in to eat. And Ill probably try to order the retail items online rather than go back to the restaurant itself.
Always tasty. Good service.
Our waitress was great.. my pancakes were super burnt on one side, but I wasnt trying to complain.. she noticed and got it taken off our bill without asking.. will return just because of her thoughtfulness
I am tired of hearing about how restaurants are losing money and cant get any help. I am about ready to eat at only my favorite restaurants who are consistent with their food and service. Terrible food and service is what we got and Cracker Barrel and seems to be the new normal. Just look at all the horrible reviews. Employees dont care about customers. We went into the restaurant on Wednesday 09.08.2021 to grab dinner. Our waitress was Taysia. I asked for extra butter with our rolls and cornbread. We received six very small containers of butter for eight rolls for our party. The cornbread sure was missing some ingredients as they were terrible. We received our dinner salads at the same time as our meals. I think everyone likes to eat their salad first before their meal. I asked for another container of dressing for my salad since the first container didnt have much in it. I never received the second container and ate some of the salad and left over half of it. I ordered the meatloaf with mash potatoes and corn. The meatloaf looked to be a piece of the end of the meat roll. My daughter received a much bigger piece that looked really good. Mash potatoes and corn was the best part of the meal. Couldnt complain about anything since the waitress didnt come back with my dressing. Taysia somehow dropped the check off at our table without me noticing her.
My families experience the other day was pretty frustrating. It took over 2 hours to get food to our table. That does not include a 30 min. wait time for seating. The waitress asked for our drink order & was fairly prompt with bringing them, but then took about 15 minutes to return to take our orders. Our usual biscuits/cornbread did not come until our orders were passed out at the table. We had 4 adults ordering with the signature/classic meal choices. The tables in our section all experienced similar service. We were visiting the area, so we expected some waiting, but nothing that disappointing. We enjoy Cracker Barrels usually, but this specific location was a huge let down.
We love the food and the prices are so good. The customer service was great and our waitress was fantastic.
Chicken and dumplings could have been a little more warmed up. The baked potato was a little to dry.
Enjoy breakfast there only. Lunch and dinner are not tasty at all. Love the shopping and breakfast foods.
Its a fun place to go food is good would not say great but nothing to complain about. Need more bread options or a muffin for breakfast.
What a darling country store!! I may have found a new place for gift shopping! Our cute server was amazing mellanie ? ! The food was kind of odd portions, bacon was not high quality👎. I wanted a good cup of java, not there - it was watery. Not bad but not great. The only other cracker barrel Ive tried was in West Virginia & that was BOMB.
In spite of the recent outbreaks of Covid, I was surprised that this location takes such a disinterested attitude towards the safety of their patrons. When we arrived, I asked the unmasked host to be sure that we were socially distanced. It was obvious that we were seniors and our friend was in a wheelchair. He led us to a table right next to somebody. I asked if we could sit in the next room were we wouldn’t be near people. He said that was not available. I asked to be moved to a different table a little farther away. He had a very annoyed attitude. The next three or four people that came in he seated all around us (It seemed on purpose) even though there were tables available throughout the room. I asked for the manager. When she finally came out, she was also not wearing a mask and stood very close to us. She defended the actions of the server and seem to discredit the safety of immune compromised customers (if any of the three of us had gotten Covid, it is very unlikely we would survive.) She said we could have sat in the back room and asked if we wanted to move there. By the time she came out, we were almost through with our meal. When we left, the host sneered at us and saluted sarcastically. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. This does not meet the normal standards of other Cracker Barrel‘s I have visited. Very poor management to allow this unprofessional atmosphere!
We waited about 30 min to be seated, (Sat around 1PM party of 6) our server was friendly, we waited about 10 min for drinks and another 20 min for food. Food was good. I understand this place is short handed but the wait was too long, restrooms were clean.
My family really likes to come here for any meal. I would give it five stars, but there isnt very many gluten free probs, so I have the same thing every time I go (Im lucky I love eggs!). Aside from the lack of GF options, everyone is really nice and very professional.
Ordered 2 meals. One had 4 items. Of the 4, one was correct, and it wasnt the steak.Steak over cooked.2 sides were wrong.Manager said, oh. And went and got the sides, by time they showed up we were half way done with our meal, opted not to wait for a new steak because we wanted to finish dinner before we got to old.Oh and the waitress sucked. I had to ask 3 times for more to drink and she didnt clear dishes, even the empty soda cups.Went here instead of olive garden for a change. Made a mistake.
We were excited to eat here tonight as a family. The kids chose it. We don’t eat out very often as a family, but a few times a year we treat the kids.It started off well with drinks and appetizers. The staff was friendly. We had our order taken and that was it. We waited for over 45 minutes to get out food. Our 5 year old kept asking when his chicken was coming and he is very patient. We are too and rarely complain. When we finally asked if we were close they said yes. 10 minutes laterWe finally asked for a manager. We were told that all there cooks had called out for the night. That’s sucks for them for sure and we understand that, but at least get the young kids the food and a little explanation. We were just left hanging. The lady that told us that said she would make it up to us. Free dessert or something, but she would make it right. All we were given was the bill. We had to ask for food we ordered, but was forgotten. We were not asked if we wanted dessert, let alone any compensation for the wait as promised. Sadly we will not be back and have explained to the kids that this place is off the list and not to be considered.
This is standard southern US fare. Fried Catfish and biscuits or cornbread, chicken and dumplings. Our server was very nice and she tried her best, service was slow but she had a lot of tables to cover. She did a great job.
Good food and atmosphere. Staff could be a little more friendly.
Breakfast was terrible! Everyone in our party of 6 had nothing good to say about the food. Biscuits and gravy were bland, eggs were cold, toast was cold, and pancakes had no flavor at all! This was my second experience... Same outcome. Ill never go back!
I greatly enjoy Cracker Barrel and know I can count on them to satisfy most of my southern food cravings. The food was a little slow to come out of the kitchen but it was worth the wait. Im sure this location, like many places, are still short staffed. I hope they get more good staff soon.
We love Cracker Barrel and have never been disappointed, here being no exception. Breakfast was great, good service, great portions and the food was hot and delicious. We received great table service and everyone around us did too. We are dont live in the beautiful USA so take every opportunity to visit Cracker Barrel. ☕️🍽🥞🍳🥓😊
Awesome breakfast! We had a really large party and the servers struggled a little with the ordering bit they were friendly and great!
Ive always wanted to try cracker barrel. Im pretty sure Ill never go back. It was crowded and didnt feel very comfortable. My meal and my sons meal was prepared wrong and the food was extremely bland. The prices were decent and the staff was kind. It just wasnt enough.
Great food. Friendly place to eat. Looking forward to going back soon. Love the place
Always good food. Very quick service and food served hot! The only reason that I gave only 4 stars was that only one employee there, Gabby, the cashier had a beautiful smile on their face. Thanks Gabby!
Great night to enjoy a bite with friends after going to the RV show at the Maverick center!
Its still good but I do feel like the quality of the food has gone down hill. Also there work practices are pretty unlike them. There was a server named Michelle that was carrying around a pot of coffee with some sort of cleaner refilling peoples cups....
If I could give this a zero I would. My first time trying this place & we sat there for awhile & no one came to get at least our drink orders while everyone else after us were already getting their order taken. Disappointing, so we left to Jims which was amazing!
Very good food, friendly service and a super fun store to look through
Fantastic food and great portions. We had the country fried chicken and couldnt finish it.
Food and service was great. Kids enjoyed playing the peg game on the table. The store is always fun to look through.
Home cooked meals. Love the old time candy as well
Excellent family restaurant. Food was good.Service was very good.
A taste of the south is always welcome! Great place and always busy.
Yall Im visiting from Texas. The Cracker Barrel was great as always. I usually get the chicken fried chicken though this time I ordered the Barrel Cheese Burger with a loaded baked potato. Im telling it was so dang delicious. I must add the service was superb.
Dont know what it is... but the Meatloaf has my card. Changed it up and tried the catfish and its great both ways prepared. Then the gift shop after the meal sends you down memory lane full of nostalgia. The house hot sauce is THE BEST!!! Buy it
Horrible! My husbands egg sandwich was too cold to enjoy, (we brought all but the first bite home to give to our dogs), my daughters peach pancakes tasted like peach cough syrup with too much of canned peach syrup to enjoy the pancakes and service was less than pleasant. Its understandable that it was a busy day, it was mothers day but we arrived right before 8am so the rush had not yet started. We had a party of 8 and a baby. Very disappointed.
Really long wait, 1 1/2 hrs. Figured with our new reality, anywhere else would be the same. Love the food. People were really nice.
It has been almost a year since I last visited any Cracker Barrel Old Counrry Store. This was due to having a lackluster experience the last time.Todays visit was for a family lunch, and I was pleased to see that there were new items on the menu like the Sunday Roast Beef lunch/ dinner.Members of my family ordered Biscuits and Gravy, a Meatloaf lunch, a Country Fried Chicken lunch, a Fried Catfish lunch, and Momma Pancakes. The food was better than I have ever had from a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. The wait to be seated -- 6 of us-- was given to be an hour, however, the actual time was less than that. The service was good, and the food arrived fresh and hot.If you are looking for a good, tasty, and home-cooked meal; you will not be disappointed if you stop here.
I eat a lot of fast food and junk food. Unfortunately it is all that works for my life right now. But when I feel like I really need a good home cooked meal, Cracker barrel is my go-to. This is a good location, Ive tried many. I am rarely left hungry or unsatisfied here. Try the chicken fried chicken, or the Saturday special fried pork chops. So delicious. And if you havent had breakfast here, you are definitely missing out. Get the sourdough french toast. You wont regret it.
Weve been here many times. Great little country style restaurant, and there are a great deal of gifts and souvenirs as you wait for your table. Things with nostalgia, like traditional candies and games that are played without having to plug them into a wall!
This is just good old-fashioned comfort food. Plus the gift store and unique gifts to stock up on for those times when you have a party to go to and no idea what to give.
Its rather disappointing to eat here now. The food doesnt seem to be as good as it used to be. The server we had on this particular trip told us she was new and did not know the menu. I think she should study it a bit more. She also charged extra for items that were included in the meal. Thanks to the manager for fixing that when I paid. I would also like to add that when putting a plate on the table, please make sure your fingers do not touch the customers food.
Multiple generations all found food we loved. Well prepared and served quickly.
Good pretty good lots of food and meals and yummy. Only issue waitress joan was pretty good appeared breedable but wasn’t submissive enough
Loved it here. This set up was very similar to others I have been too. The food is way awesome and very filling. The restaurant, store and restroom was very clean. The staff was super friendly and they check on you continuously. Even the manager was walking around checking on guest. Very impressed!!!
Had a plethora of breakfast choices with flavors a plenty. Throughly enjoyed the watermelon lemonade as it quenched the thirst of a warm summers day! We had great service that made sure our cups never went empty.
Fast, friendly, and competent waitress. The food was very good. It was a real pleasure!
They were on some limited menu so options were slim, had to pay extra for a couple eggs to go with my steak. I wanted to get eggs instead of their sides, which they wouldnt do. Two out of three of those sides I didnt like. Steamed carrots were over cooked and the pinto beans werent very good either. The steak was properly cooked and well seasoned. Service was acceptable, kept beverages topped off and food was served I a timely fashion. My wife loves this place so Ill probably have to go back. Happy wife happy life.
The chicken I ordered was super dry and over cooked, not the greatest service they didnt ask if we wanted more water until we where done with dinner. Service use to be so much better.
Corn bread had no flavor, biscuts were tiny, no apples. Was just very diapointed in the food.
Good food it took 45 minutes to sit down though and another 30 minutes for food so if you got the time its good
No matter what you do or where you go...their food is always consistently good, the store is fun and usually they let you sleep behind the store in your car or RV. Two have signs no overnight camping but this is not bc of store policy...in this case it was a Boise city policy. Most CBs allow overnight parking. I saw a couple camping...and thats not okay..its a restaurant not a campground! No Camping! Dont set up tents, build a fire, or do camping stuff. Sleep in your RV or van or car then leave after breakfast in the morning...and as always.. check with the management at each store. Give back dont just take. This restaurant was excellent, great service, good food, reasonably priced.. highly recommend.
Nopn on Saturday was not a good choice. Wait to get in. Longer wait for our food which was warm when we hot it. Still good, staff was friendly and doing everything they could. Store was fun good time browsing with reasonable prices.
This is our favorite location. Always awesome! They have adjusted well to the covid 19 Restrictions.
