It took 6 attempts to get service completed with Safelite. Each time they were supposed to come out to change out my windshield they either didnt have the product, were missing the tools to do the job or was not able to come out since they were running behind schedule. The 6th and final time they came out the guy didnt have a heat gun to take off the rear view mirror. He told me I would have to follow him back to the shop. I told him to call his supervisor and he instructed him to buy a blowtorch from Ace Hardware and complete the job. Finally the job was completed and the windshield looks amazing! However, it took too many attempts to get the job complete. The trucks need to be stocked and ready to go before going out on calls.

Absolutely, hands down, SAVED my vacation! My passenger side rear window on my truck was busted out due to theft. I was able to set an appointment online on a Sunday. I arrived to my appointment on Monday an hour early and they got my truck right in! Definitely cannot thank the guys at Safelite in Gainesville, Florida, enough! We were over 1000 miles away from home and without their quick, professional help our wonderful vacation would have been ruined!

I initially used Safelite to replace my front windshield on my truck after it was cracked due to a rock hitting it on the highway. Initial scheduling and handling of insurance was easy enough, and replacement of the windshield appeared well done. The repair comes with a warranty from safelite, and I had a question regarding possible evidence of a repair issue, specifically recent evidence of a possible leak. I have tried calling several times to discuss the issue with someone in hopes of preventing an extra trip for me, but all I get is a recorded message saying go online and see our FAQs, and then the phone hangs up. Ill be willing to update this review once I hear back from someone at the company and have a chance to discuss my issue, *AND* you add the option to talk to a human being to the automated phone menu.

Safelite Autoglass is wonderful. The are friendly, professional, and fast. It is so easy to schedule an appointment online. During the online session, your insurance is verified. You even find out if you have a deductible or not. Safelite Autoglass does a fine job. I am so happy with them.

I arrived today for my front drivers side window to be fixed, and once I arrived. I was informed that my window was not in. They also could not give me an exact date when it would be in, and once it did I would have to reschedule the appt. Now, I made this appt. 3 days prior, and that was the first available. So, I asked him will you guys at least get me in as soon as my window comes-- he said he could not guarantee that because the appts get filled up quickly online, and he cant control that, which I understand, but I was still upset due to them not correctly notifying me. They supposedly sent an email but I didnt receive it, plus I thought it was a lazy way to notify a cancellation for a $400 service. You should call to cancel and make them aware of changes. A lot of people do not even check their email. I drove 30 mins, packed my kids up, and drove there with busted glass everywhere. They did put crash wrap on my window and the gentleman vacuumed some of the glass up for me which was appreciated. However, still not the best experience. Ill update once my windows comes to note if my experience was any better.UPDATE: I couldnt get a hold of a live person because everything is automated or online to check on my window. You do have to wait for someone to call you. They offer a way to email or text but thats it. It takes a few hours for a response. However, my window came so hopefully the service is a lot better than my experience thus far-- he was very nice so I am adding another star.UPDATE: Okay, so we went in today and everything was quick, and smooth. We were out in an hour, and originally they said 1 1/2 -2hrs. But they had us out very quickly which I was thankful for because I had my boys and one is high risk so we sat outside. It was hot so I was happy with the speedy service. They also gave us chairs and honestly made us feel comfortable. So, Im definitely the type to give credit when its due so I MUST say great way to improve someones experience. I still recommend calling your customers, and having live people available. Overall, good comeback guys!

Was not explained it would be 2 hours. Drove over 1 1/2 hours to get here. They did not have time to drive me to a restaurant .i had to walk across two main highways to get to restaurant. I called to get a quote on window replacement, I was told it was 167 plus applicable fees, taxes and charges, I asked what they were, and how much it would cost me total, they were unable to give me a direct answer and refused to tell me what charges and fees may be waiting, when I called again I got a whole different price with the same warning about more fees and charges... Watch out people they dont have set prices for services, its by what they feel like doing it for at that moment... Will never use this business

These guys went above and beyond for me. They were really great and helped me fix my car even having to take it to a body shop for repairs before they could install my glass, because I had to go to work and could not take the car myself. I absolutelly recommend them.

I had an appointment with them to replace my back window of my cat. They then called me day if the appointment to tell me they forgot a rubber seal needed for my bmw. I say ok and they rescheduled for the next day. They then get out to my car and tell me again that my cat needs a rubber seal and they dont have it. They tell me they need to order and and that they need to charge me again for the part. This is after paying almost $500 for PARTS and labor. They then proceed to just cancel my while appointment with no heads up. They do not care to have you talk to them about whats going on and still use covid as an excuse to shut down human assistance on the phone. Watch out for this shady company. They will charge you and then try to charge you again. The owner will respond with thanks for the feedback and then not do anything. They rescheduled on me TWICE then canceled my appointment.

I got my rear window of my new car repaired on January 13th. The tech was friendly, answered all my questions. However, my car was damaged significantly by glass debris. After talking with Calvin safelite we got the window replaced properly on March 8th and Safelite was able to rectify my concerns about the car damage.

Dan is the man! I was a little late to my appointment, but was taken in immediately thanks to Dan. He listened to all of my concerns while taking off the old windshield, then went above and beyond by coming and getting me from the wait room to make sure we were on the same page about a leak prior to putting on the new piece of glass. He found the leak and fixed it happily. It may not have taken but an extra 10-15 minutes for him to diagnose and repair, but it means the world to customers who are used to people cutting corners. Holler when you open your own shop, thanks again!

I scheduled a repair for a small crack on my windshield through GEICO and asked for the service person to do it at my place. The guy who came in told me it cannot be repaired and had to be replaced. It put me in so much trouble on a busy day before new years where I had to stop all my work and look into a replacement now. In addition I requested for a OEM windshield, and the same guy who came in to my place to do the repair told me that safelite will handle the communication with GEICO and settle the claim if I elect for OEM and I only have to communicate that I need an OEM to them. Luckily I dropped by safelite location in Gainesville a little later and then another person over there told me he can simply do the repair and there is no need for a replacement. Totally contradicting opinions from two employees, and putting me so much trouble, and a dilema. The on-site person also offered the job will be done free of charge for the inconvenience I had to face, so I agreed to go ahead with the repair instead of the replacement. But once it was done the manager over informed me that they are billing my insurance for the claim and thats why its free for me (Absolutely not what I was told before the job was started by the technician who inspected the vehicle and did the job. He offered a free repair for the inconvenience, twice! Also why I went ahead with the repair that time) All in all I am happy about the repair job, I also appreciate the technician on site that day who saved me from a costly replacement, and tried to make it free for the trouble, but absolutely annoyed, disappointed and mad at the unprofessionalism, and continuously providing incorrect information by different employees (including the manager). So most certainly I will not be coming here again, and I will be warning my friends and family!!!

I had two chips on my windshield that needed repair. I easily set up an appointment online and they were able to come to my work and repair them both the very same day! My technicians name was Erik and he was very professional. I appreciated that he kept me updated on his arrival time and walked me through what he was doing. I would highly suggest this company. Professional install and work directly with the insurance companies. Fast service as well. They have a waiting room, but honestly kids would be bored. Recommend bringing cell phone to play on, book or something. They may have a little coffee but thats about it, no water or snacks. Simply waiting room to wait in. Chairs are comfortable. Before you go ask how long the work will take, and plan accordingly, mine too 45 minutes to an hour. They will be done when they say they will, they dont blow smoke. So you can plan honestly.

The job was done with precision and very quickly. But I was disappointed to see that the technician did not take the time to cover my interior to prevent dust and dibris from using the drill to clean out the old seal from getting all over the seat. Just because I drive an antique truck that is in the process of restoration, doesnt mean that he shouldnt be clean while doing his job.

Looked on their website for fixing a rock chip, about $60. I show up at 8am when the Gainesville location opens, price is different in person they tell me. Guess I should have had it fixed on the website. Tells me it could be as high as $120 but wont know until I fill out a work order. I dont need a work order until I know how much I told him. Says thats not gonna happen. He was right about that! Very poor customer service, tells me it costs more if I want to pay out of pocket instead of letting them hammer my insurance company. Why would a legitimate business charge more if you want to pay yourself? After reading the real reviews online Im glad I didnt let them touch my car. Found Maudlins Auto Glass on google only a few blocks away, what a difference in the 2 shops. Maudlins is owner operator and a pleasure to talk to and deal with. I am only a customer with no affiliation to either shop but absolutely would not ever use Safelight due to their bait and switch tactics and rude employees.

After Safelite replaced my windshield I noticed that the wipers transfer arm was broken. A Google search documented that the Saturn Ion transfer arm has a plastic end where the wiper blade connects. These ends will snap if too much pressure is applied to the blade when reinstalling it. Safelite ordered the better replacement part and installed it today at no charge.This is the same high standard of service my customers expect from my business. I am pleased.

The manager at safelite auto handled my service professionally... the technicians friendly but valued being done and moving on more than taking their time and doing their job well left me with poor results and a dirty vehicle. The tech did not come prepared to service my vehicle and just used what he had in the van... which did not work... i asked him to please do the job right and he went back to the shop and got the right part. Thanks for changing my windshield but i would not recommend.

BEWARE!! Back window was replaced from Safelite only to find out during rainy season that it was done incorrectly. Once we called to let them know that water was pouring inside the truck, they sent a technician out. This technician let us know that the installer did not use the correct materials to seal it, let alone replace the bolts. He told us that he was able to just push the window out with his hand, that was how bad it was. He told us the installer is no longer with the company if that makes us feel better. (I have also read now that training for Safelite is minimal so Im sure this happens a lot.)They replaced the back window for us again without a problem. However, now the truck was covered in mold. Once the window was repaired we asked them how they would be taking care of having the truck cleaned as they admitted from the beginning it was their fault. The assistant manager let us know that they would definitely be taking care of the matter and that they just needed to have the manager come take a look first. The day the manager came, I was in the back of my property and was not called. He still decided to take a look at the truck in my back yard, pulling my hose out, not even a care to put it back up. I dont believe any of my things shouldve been touched without me being there but anyways! I call as I see him pulling out my driveway only to be told that it was not their fault and they would not clean the vehicle. This manager was very rude and after dealing with friendly assistant manager, I was quite shocked.Eventually after trying to communicate with Safelite in Gainesville, I called corporate, they apologized for the company and sent us to have the truck cleaned and let us know they would bill the company. The cleaning company we chose let us know they have had to do mold removal for Safelite many times before and told us exactly how they typically do their billing to them. WOW! Thats bad! I am already reading the reviews posted below me seeing the same issue.I will continue to advise everyone to stay far away from Safelite for their own safety and because of the HORRIBLE management.Thank you to corporate for stepping up.

I had a great Safelight experience. Jonathan came to change my cracked windshield and did a brilliant job in under an hour! He was incredibly professional and even worked hard to preserve some stickers on my windshield that were threatening to fall off. My new windshield looks great! I paid for a change of windshield wipers as well, and the new pair glide on my windshield like butter without making a sound!

Worst service ever. Replaced my glass and stole my wipers. I was asked if I wanted my wipers replaced I said no! They took my brand new wipers and gave me the crappiest ones they could find after I had asked them not to replace them. The glass they put on my car was the wrong one. My car had rain detection and it worked fine before getting my glass replaced. My wipers goes crazy when its bright and sunny now. It turns on full speed out of the blue. If you could avoid going here please do. It was a very unpleasant experience. Its been a pain to get them to fix their mistake and I dont trust that theyll be honest this time around either. If I were ever to have glass damage again I would not come back unless it was absolutely my only choice.

Tech came to the house, told me that would have to break my windshield molding clips and glue it back down in order to replace the windshield. There is no other way to do this job they said. They also wanted me to sign a waiver in case the molding flew off later, leaving me at fault. Well a simple youtube search showed an easy way to save these clips, no glue needed. They also brought a windshield that was already scratched in two different areas. I will give them an extra star simply because the tech was early and professional. Overall though I would avoid this company if youre looking for a job done right.

I would strongly advise against entrusting your vehicle with this company. I brought my 2018 camry in for a windshield replacement. Safelite auto glass broke wires leading to my front camera. The technician told me that he was unable to recalibrate the camera because the car was so new and that I would have to take the vehicle to a Toyota dealership. Upon taking it the dealership, Toyota informed me that during the windshield replacement process wires were inappropriately tugged and broken. Safelite charged my insurance for the recalibration even though they did not perform it. The manager was supposed to call me 2 days ago and I have not received a voicemail. Additionally, I emailed the manager two days ago and have yet to receive a response. I will NEVER use or suggest Safelite. (Only put the one star because I had to in order to post the review...ZERO stars)

Made an appointment through my insurance company to have my windshield repaired. The appointment window was between 12-5pm. No call and no show by 5pm. Called, and spoke to a representative, who could not even get in touch with the technician (Jonathan). Never heard a word back. Thankfully we have an amazing insurance company who referred us to someone else. If I could give Safelite a 0, I would. Terrible customer service!!!

We first took our Ford F-150 pick up truck to Safelite and I sat there and waited for hours. No one came out to tell me that they accidentally broke the glass putting it in and after sitting there for hours I finally ask someone and told them I needed to go to work, I thought it was very unprofessional that they completely was blowing me off. We used Safelite again as it looked like a stress fracture crack had occurred but of course we could not prove it, so they billed our insurance company for this replacement. Then recently we were driving the truck and the windshield just cracked, nothing hit the window and we called them to come out to look as we believed it was a stress fracture. Of coursethe guy shows up and tells us No, it is not a stress fracture. We believe this company isrip off, they do not know how to put in a window that will last and we have had nothing but problems from them. They will not admit it if their company is at fault. Worst experience ever! Zero if I could. Would not have gone there if insurance would have allowed another company. That is how they get you. First appointment was canceled due to inaccurate window info. Second appointment was canceled because they had the wrong window. I sat for over an hour and was told nothing until I saw the car out of the bay. They were totally unprofessional, leaving glass all in the door plus I was missing the regulator brackets! A vital piece to the window working properly. I am absolutely disgusted with this experience and this company. Save your self the headache. They are a windshield only location for most. I will never give them my business again.

Still flooding in truck when it rains.Update: Finally got another tech to come out, checked it by running water over top, yep, poured into like it wasnt there, this guy took it back out, cleaned it all up, reinstalled.. I still have moisture inside vehicle, havent gotten it completely dry yet.. it rained s little, it seemed to be ok, guess once I get it completely dry(which would be nice if they did it since they caused the flood inside) Ill know for sure.

Great service initially... then the windshield cracked in two places without any significant impact. I suspect the replacement material is not the same quality as original. I asked about warranty claim and they stated it would not be under warranty if there was further impact, but that the technician would decide and go ahead and replace at the time of the appointment if under warranty. On the day of the repair the tech looked at the windshield for about 1 second (never even turned his truck off) and stated it wasnt under warranty. So I asked him to go ahead and replace anyway and Id pay for it, but he stated he didnt bring a windshield with him. Still trying to sort this out, but its pretty obvious to me that they had no intention of calling this an in warranty repair no matter what they found.

Car was left with a broken windshield wiper, driver side, tech never said anything. Still going through the process of trying to get this fixed, they could not fix it at the shop, told me to go to a machine shop and they would approve a quote. Get it there, and they tell me it will be three days for approval! In the meantime, this is Florida, where it rains everyday, so we are down a car. Less stressful my butt!

Scheduled an appointment. Was told I would receive a call when they were coming. Never was called had to call myself. They were supposed to come to me then I had to bring it in because someone called out (not sure how thats my problem). Get the car there they say 45 mins. 1.5 hrs go by no update so I call and they say its ready. Go to pick it up and oops sorry wrong mustang, we just started yours. Another hour goes by this time they call. When I pick up I find that my rear view mirror is about to fall off. It wobbles all over the place was firm before. It is an auto dimming mirror and the wires are now exposed used to be covered so they either stretched them or lost the cover. Plus they managed to chip the paint on my passenger door from opening it into something. I will be taking the car back in the morning. Stay tuned for results to see if they will rectify their terrible service.

I choose Safelite because they do repairs at your home. They came to my home after missing the first appointment. The window that they brought they could not install. They said that they would get the right window and set up another appointment. They called to set up another appointment but said that I would have to bring my truck in. I asked why I would have to bring the truck in instead of having it done at my house as originally agreed upon. I was told that they have better installers in the shop than they send out on the road. Why is that? The fault is with the management that did not order the correct window, not the installer who came. I got the window put in by Mauldins Auto Glass. They did it quickly. They had the correct window. They changed less than %50 of what Safelite was charging. Mauldins does not come to your home you have to go into the shop. Safelite charles $35 extra to come to your home. Even after subtracting out the $35 dollars for coming to your home the Safelite cost was still more than twice as much as Mauldins.

I was slightly worried about this company because of the other reviews. Luckily I had a great experience. My back car window was completely broken/shattered due to a tree branch right before Labor Day weekend. This of course meant a longer wait time to get an appointment. But I got an appointment within 4 days and it was fixed within an hour. Window looks great and no known problems yet. Ill update if any issues arise but right now I would definitely recommend using Saafelite.

A Safelite (2525 N Main St, Gainesville) Tech came out to my work to replace a cracked windshield in my car yesterday, and after he took out the old one, refused to install the new one (paid for by Geico). Claimed there was severe rust in the channel, which there was not, only some minor surface rust (like every car in America). Left my car with no windshield. And refused to give me my old one back.Now, I dont know why but my friends all say they were probably angling for some kind of extra payment from me.Geico is sending out a new company today to do it, after paying to tow my car home.Anyone else deal with Safelite in Gainesville? Seems like some kind of scam.

They placed a defective windshield on my 2013 Chevy Malibu and it cracked the same day...The refused to honor their warranty and told me to file another claim through my insurance so they could replace it...Scam, scam, hot damn scam!!! Went through another company instead I’ll never use them again!!! Woe unto you!!!

This business is just awful. Two failed efforts to order the correct windshield now going on three weeks. Its a new car so they had only two choices and a 50/50 chance to get it right. I tried to call them with no success so far. Business phone has busy signal continuously. Dont let them touch your car.I would give them a zero if I could. Just awful.

Got new windshield from Safelite, it leaked, they offered to replace it. Now it leaks in the same spot and an additional spot. ☆UPDATE: After visiting the shop and having the leak checked, I was told the leak was notfrom the windshield . I was alittle upset and honestly felt I was getting the run around. I was asked to come in and speak with the store manager Mr. Zach Shere. He had the windshield checked again, listened patientlyas I rambled off about my list of frustrations. Mr Sherer offered to buy me lunch as I waited, and the windshield was rechecked. And it WAS NOT, due to anything related to Safelite. Then they even put on a set of new windshield wipers, just to make me happy. I am VERY satisfied with all they did to make me satisfied. ☆☆☆☆☆The only complaint I still have was with service techs showing up when schedualed.Thank you Safelite.
