Russell Cellular has been great. They have friendly and knowledgeable staff that are not pushy and do not follow you around like vultures, which is wonderful. They do try to find you the best deal on phones that suit your needs.I managed to CRUSH two of my phones, a couple years apart (dont ask....suffice it to say that I live on a farm and I operate some heavy equipment at times and the phone, unknowingly, slipped out of my pocket....and CRUSH!), so I made the 21.5 mile trip to Russell Cellular (there is NO Verizon store/Authorized dealer in my town) and I was not disappointed. Of course, thankfully, I was due for an upgrade anyway. Ive always the same, friendly, professional and courteous service and come out with pretty good deal too. Thanks Russell Cellular......Ill be seeing you.....eventually.

Sam, was the guy that helped me. He was amazing. The internet was not working the greatest when I was trying to get a new phone, but Sam stayed calm and happy the whole time which kept me calm. He was very friendly and was there by himself trying to help multiple people at the same time. He talked to everyone there in a happy and professional way. If I need to come back there for any reason, I’m calling ahead and making an appointment with him!

Visited Verizon store in Freeport IL today. Staff courteous. Did not have to wait long. Store associate answered my questions clearly. The person was very knowledgeable and explained options and choices as i processed which phone to purchase. Sales associate set the phone up for me and all data transferred. I would highly recommend this store. More than exceeded expectations!

We recently visited this store with our dead 5510L jetpack and expressed our desire to upgrade our device to the 8800L and pay it in full. We requested that by paying for the jetpack in full and any fees associated with it, our amount billed would remain the same. Jacob C assured us they would. We left without new jetpack after paying the device store price of 209, And service fees to a total of $240 paid in full. Later that day, an estimate from Verizon arrived for my next months bill, which was double the price... plus showed we still owed $10 on the new jetpack. It took 4 hours in the phone with Verizon to figure it out. Jacob C did not upgrade, just sold us a new one and left the old one activated, did not inform us they were charging us for a new plan not continuing the old one, activation fees which he did not tell us, plus he made a $10 accounting error somewhere in the bill...remember we already paid $209 for a $199 device...and even then we still owed $10. Verizon says they have corrected his errors EXCEPT for the $10 accounting error and I would have to go the 25 miles back to the store. Confronting Jacob C at the store on Friday, he admitted his error and apologized...but would not correct the error. He said, $10 means nothing to me, just pay it!. I believe Russell Cellular should make good on their mistakes. I cannot in good conscious, recommend this store to anyone! Buyer beware!

Always have a good experience at the store. Still prefer an in-store (even with covid restrictions) experience for cell phones and services rather than online. Ive never had an associate that wasnt able to answer all my questions.

I am very disappointed in Verizon. We have had this company for years. I am handicapped and I called to ask some questions and they said they could not give me any information whatsoever on the phone. I had to come in to the store. I sat for a half an hour online waiting to talk to somebody and I looked up the website and could not get anything to do what I wanted. I had just a few questions. So My husband had to help me into the store. Even at the store they cant even tell me my password they didnt have a pin or something the young man said. I asked if they received the check I had sent two weeks ago and had come not come thru my bank. The Young man was very surprised that I sent it in the mail. And if you dont want people to send it in the mail as a payment why do you include a return envelope in the bill coupon? Im really extremely unhappy with Verizon at this moment.

Lex was very good in taking care of us! About verizon company, your not told about the upgrades and your so called special deals? My wife got a new phone and we were told she would get $300 for her trade in?? oops not really unless you buy the most expensive phone?? My wife did not want that phone!! $60 in store discount, WOW, Pretty cruddy. Im pretty sure we are going to look for a new carrier in the meantime!!

Mikayla was beyond awesome to work with. Best customer service experience I have had in a long time!!! She even stayed 1 1/2 hours after closing time to ensure our phones were all set up and transferred over from Sprint which was horrible. She deserves all 11’s across the board on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best. Definitely recommend Mikayla for all your cellular needs.

I went to the Verizone office in Freeport, IL to make a change to my plan.I met the manager at my appointment time and he was able to quickly make the changes to my wife and my phones with no hitches. One of the first times in almost 20 years of owning a cell phone that we were able to get what we anticipated we would have in a phone service.Our change will save us about $60 a month, another first, actually visiting a cell service provider and leaving with a plan with two phones costing less.

So far understaffed...wow ! It amazes me theyre still in business. Yet saw a company car on the highway the same afternoon. 60-90 minute wait for a 60 second fix. Poor people were waiting for customer service to answer the phone the entire wait.

More than 2 years ago Im one of the customer for the Verizon Russel Cellular Store in Freeport. Usually they were helpful all the time.Today (8/2019)my daughter in law was go in with some problem, and she came back to car still was not her problem solved. So I was go in in the store and the person to who we talked was arrogant, not help not at all, and says the person who sold the phone to my daughter in law suppose to explain to her what she paid on that day when she got her phone. The sales person did not explained to us and we let know for this person who was the store manager(!??). At least thats what he said.Now from a store manager I dont expect arrogance, and this type of service where he was not helping not at all but we came out from the store with disappointment.If the manager give to customer much less than the sales person than this store soon will be go down.I know I wont buy my next Phone in this store.

I have been to the Rockford stores often and was not pleased with the frenzied atmosphere. Freeport is relaxed and easygoing from the start! Will take my business there from now on!

Needed to by a sim card for a phone I purchased. Walked into the store gentleman was sitting in his chair didnt get up to help me just asked what I needed. Told him I needed to purchase a sim card for a phone. He asked if I had the phone? I did not. Well we cant sell you a card unless we activate it. Really I have bought them before here? Would not sell me a sim. I called customer service. They said they have no reason not to we have service thru verizon. Customer service talked with them they still refused. Problem 1 is they are a 3rd party store they make up there own rules.Problem 2 is they want to charge me to activate the phone when Im able to do that on my own.Problem 3 I was interrupting his game playing.Havent had this kind of issues in a long time. Verizon always has been good to us. Dont waste your time going there if you really need something.
