Best auto mechanic I have ever delt with. David the owner and head mechanic was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about all vehicles types. He did not try and tell me that there were several more problems with the car than there really was. He did not try and take advantage of a us just to get paid more. Very good prices, fast service, incredible helpful. Great place to have any of your vehicles worked on. Will definitely recommend this auto shop to anyone looking for a mechanic.

Dave is fantastic and he really knows his stuff. He has worked on quite a few of my more troublesome classics and brought them back to life, even when I couldnt get any other shop to touch them. (1981 Cadillac Seville with the Oldsmobile Diesel engine, my 1985 Mercedes, my 1990 firebird) Im always more than satisfied with the work that gets done.

Dave is an expert at repairing vehicles. He is a straight shooter, he doesnt overcharge, and he does the job right. Started using him 12 years ago when he was out in Hartwood and will go to NO ONE else - he is the best. All of my neighbors use him.Of note - the location on the accompanying map is not right - close but the other side of Capital avenue.

So I just called Dave, who I was told would be a great guy to take my Mercedes SL600 to. I was really looking forward to taking my car to Dave, since another highly rated shop referred me to him. Needless to say, I was disappointed in what transpired next.I explained I had a leak coming from the power steering pump area, which also operates the hydraulic suspension in my car.Being that I am knowledgeable of these cars, since I have owned 3 in the past, I provided insight as to what I thought the problem may be, in addition to providing remedies for those issues.Specifically, I stated,1)If its the pump, Ive already bought one and its ready to go if needed.2) If its a copper seal or an o-ring in one of the 4 hoses which lead to the pump, we can easily source from a hydraulics shop.3) If its the high pressure hose, we can have a hydraulics shop repair it and make the hose stronger than OEM.Below is how our conversation went, verbatim:(Call was recorded and reviewed before I typed it up)Dave: Its not something I want to get into.Me: Really, why is that?Dave: Because youve been working on it.Me: No, I havent. I wouldnt even attempt to.Dave: When someone tells me they have all the parts and they can have the hose repaired at a hydraulics shop, I dont want to do the job. I can see that its not going to go well.Me:Can you elaborate?Dave: I read customers really well, and this is a customer and a vehicle that I dont want to get involved with.Me: Really, Im confused, am I hard to work with?Dave: You have all the red flags that I dont want to work on this car.So there you have it. Im not sure if he doesnt like,A) Informed customersB) Customers who are prepared and already have the parts ready.C) A+BIll let you decide...=======================================================Update to Owners response:Id like to break down the owners response.First, my reviews I wrote for other businesses are simply my experience with them. For you to imply that because I gave another business a 1 star review, that this somehow makes me a difficult customer, is really far-fetched to say the least. Further, you are going down a very slippery slope with that baseless accusation. Additionally, you are connecting dots that arent there. The former speaks volumes on your clouded perception. If you would have actually read my reviews, you would see that they are fully justified, regardless if the owner responded to my review.Owner response: From the basis and extent of your review, you do display many caution flags of a difficult customer. This is a very evasive, blanket statement, with 0 examples given to support your view. If you are unable to back up your claim, your credibility will suffer. In regards to OEM parts, I understand completely, as I own a wholesaling corporation. I sourced my parts from a distributor who supplies the dealerships with OEM parts. In regards to my suggestion on getting the hose repaired at a hydraulic shop, this is because it is a fact that they can make it stronger than the OEM part. I can testify to this firsthand, since Ive had hoses repaired at hydraulic shops before. Indeed, they can use rubber capable of withstanding 8000 PSI (or even more), compared to the OEM part, which can only withstand 3000 PSI. As stated before, this is my 3rd Mercedes SL. Be that as it is, this is not my first rodeo with addressing these repairs. Finally, in regards to the 1 star review, I am not judging the owners mechanical capability, but simply my interaction with the owner. He is free to pick and choose the cars he works on, but to label me as a difficult customer and stating that there are red flags with me, is fully unjustified, which is why I felt compelled to write this review.Im more than comfortable letting future potential customers come to their own conclusions.
