Horrible service. I wanted to try this restaurant so I came in at 8:25pm for dinner. I was seated by a male server with long black hair who then told me that the restaurant closes at 9:00pm although online it states 9:30pm and on their menu it states 10:00pm. Although he said it politely i didn’t understand why his remark was needed and I could clearly tell he did not want us to stay. I think it’s common rule that once you’re in a restaurant before closing time you’ll be able to sit and eat but I guess not for this place. Another couple came in and left right away when he told them the same thing so I decided to definitely leave. I will not be back as I do not like my time wasted.

This hidden gem in Fort Worth Southside is simply perfect. The ambient lighting, wood panel interior with carpets on display brings you to a peaceful place. Absolutely wonderful! A very unique setting, a wooden house look similar to a log cabin, filled with Turkish decor. Romantic. Easy parking, (they have their own parking lot). We went at 8 pm on a Friday and there was no wait. Everything on the menu sounded amazing. The desert list too. The lamb chops were incredible. This place is a must go, at least go for desert and coffee.

Delicious! We got the lamb kebab over yogurt and pita, it was definitely something to come back for. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor. The only thing I wouldnt get again was the yogurt drink which was smooth, but very salty. This is clearly described in the menu, I just wanted to give it a try and decided the unusual taste was not for me. For dessert be sure to try the baklava paired with Turkish coffee.

Amazing Dinner! From.the decor, the ambiance, the dimmed lights, and awesome vibes this place provided a sense of comfort, home feeling and excelent food. Had the mix appetizer which brings babaganoush, hummus, and 2 other egg plants semisweet semi spiced dip with original turkish bread, follow by lamb and chicken kabab with rice and salad ending with sweet apricots with almonds and a excellent Turkish coffee...The food was well spiced and cooked, they do not serve alcohol which is fine by me, but is a bring your own bottle type of place. In the middle of a pandemic this place was very well sanitized, follow social distance protocols and are very welcoming...Thanks Flying carpet for providing after 8months a great date night feeling...

The food was good. The dolma that was hidden on the appetizer sampler, and it only came with one, was superb. Most of the time, you get tough leaves wrapping mush. Gross. This one was a soft leaf wrapping up a balance of textures, while still soft was not mushy. The flavor was perfect. Hint of mint and a good amount of sweet to offset the more earthy grain and herb flavors. I dont like talking about flavors and textures, but this was absolutely the best dolma Ive ever had. I wanted more. The different dips were good, but I should have finished on the dolma. Hard to top perfect. The spanakopita was good, but my only criticism, and I dont think Im really competent to criticize, because they may have meant this and I just wasnt getting it, but the crust was not dry leaf crispy, fall apart by looking at it too hard kind of crispy my ignorance demands a spinach pie should have. I would have liked a crispier pastry. It was still tasty, but the lack of crispiness was distracting. The calf liver... Im not sure how to describe this experience. Im one of the few folks that genuinely likes the taste of liver. When I get liver, I want to taste liver. Let me start by saying it was good. I finished all of it. It was not bad or even mediocre. It was good. However, the flavor of the lover was somehow muted. I dont know how they did it, but the texture was perfect, the smell was great, and when I took the first bite, I was expecting an explosion of the soft, supple lover explosion Im used to getting when I make liver. Instead, I got a perfectly textured mildly seasoned oneself.that reminded one of the taste of liver in a subtle way. I was disappointed with the lack of robust liver flavor, but thats just me. Most times you get the opposite - overpowering liver funk that is like eating suede shoe leather. This was lover for people who probably dont like liver. Maybe liver for folks who want to get their feet wet.Everything was good if not excellent. The staff was very nice, very helpful, and very attentive. She even helped me.understand how to get the awesome foam on Turkish coffee. Its an art, and I had no idea how much of an art until.she told me.about young Turkish girls being taught how to make the coffee. Ask about it, its an interesting story. Everything about the place was charming, and I look forward to trying more dishes there. The atmosphere was very laid back, quiet, and clean. It is a very good place to have a nice dining experience. The dolma, though... Thats the highlight. Theyre usually always so mushy, bland, or bitter at other places. Theyre not worth getting most of the time at other places. This one (I emphasize one because they really should put more on there) at this place seemed more congenial, less jaded with the world and fresh faced, ready to face life and all its possibilities. Food that surprises and pleases you like this makes you excited about life.

We have used to love this place for snacks and dessert so it’s heartbreaking to write this review. We came for dinner, had some appetizers and we inquired about hosting a private event. The manager came by to ask us questions- as soon as we mentioned we were looking for vegetarian options he said we don’t do that and walked away. No explanations, nothing lol! We chuckled and found it extremely rude but continued to enjoy our evening. Later, we ordered a kunefe which had spoiled and sour cheese. We told our waitress who discussed with the chef and brought back our dessert saying that no one else had problem eating that so you shouldn’t either . We left the remaining food, paid and left. Will never come back again! We felt really neglected and found their behavior very rude.

Disappointed. The food was really good but the service was so bad. The waitress was super rude. She took my moms order then turned around and took the other tables order. She never introduced herself or anything. She brought out our appetizers and no bread. Maybe it was an off night for her but Ive been a waitress before and theres no excuse for her behavior. The owner or manager did try to make it right. He noticed that we were being ignored. The table next to us waited for their credit card for over 20mins. They had the same complaints as us too. We overheard them talking about how little they were going to tip her. I did enjoy the food though.

Too much to list but the food was good, Ive had better and Ive had worse. The service was terrible. We were left with no drink order (only table water), partial orders and what we think was the owner brought us water refills and we had to ask for flatbread - Twice.Since the waitress never let us know her name, all I can say is that she was wearing a mask with a Michael Jordan logo on her left side of the mask.It wasnt busy so thats no excuse, and if shes new that would not be an excuse either since a new person would actually try to do a good job, she however, did not. Turning your back on your customers without addressing everyone at the table is just rude.$120+ later and we are not happy at all.Not asking for a coupon or a discount just wanted to let everyone know our experience and that we will never be back.

Decided to give this place a shot as I love Middle Eastern cuisine, got the dolmas and falafel, both came out within seconds and tasted days old. The dolmas were way too sweet. Lamb main course either was not lamb at all, or was mixed with beef. Save your time and go to Cafe Istanbul. This place is overpriced and not homemade food. The Flying Carpet Turkish Cafe is always a place that my boyfriend and I take our friends when they come from out of town. The lunch special is awesome and allows you to have a variety of healthy and tasty foods with many options to choose from at affordable prices. You also get a soup or salad, along with a dish with a protein, rice, and salad. Ive tried all of the options and my favorite is the chicken kebab. The baklava is amazing as well! It comes with crumbled pistachios on top- it wasnt too sweet at all. The atmosphere is very cozy and relaxed, and the staff is very informative and friendly.

My husband and I just enjoyed a fabulous dinner with our two young daughters ages 5 and 1.5. The food was wonderful but the service and ambiance far exceeded five stars!!! The chef personally came to our table when he was informed of my allergies and created a delicious meal for me. Our server was very attentive and went out of his way to make our five year old smile. After our meal, the very polite chef came to our table again and brought us a delectable dessert, and one custom made for me too- it was magnificent! Finally, at the conclusion of our meal when our daughter exclaimed how delicious the (complimentary) dessert was, the chef brought her an extra piece boxed for her to take home and have tomorrow- all the while his only concern was her happiness. With regard to price, we felt that they were priced very appropriately and honestly we wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for the quality of service we received. The average meal was about $12. My husband’s meal, a combo with both chicken and lamb kabob was $17. We chose for our two daughters to share an adult meal which will feed them for two days- they had the chicken kabob which was accompanied by rice and salad for $14. Finally, I personally thought the beautifully carved wooden box our bill came in was a very nice touch! We absolutely will be returning!

This quaint little place with a whimsical name popped up when I searched for hookah lounges in the area. Unfortunately, they were out of coals and unable to serve hookah. Oh well. We stayed because we were hungry and Mediterranean food sounded ok. So while I cant say much about the quality of their hookah, I can say that their pita bread comes from a package and is simply grilled/heated before being served. Their rice tastes exactly like Uncle Bens packaged rice. I found it odd that the interior of this place was so formal looking with white tablecloths and dressed up couples sharing bottles of expensive wine at the nearby tables. The food definitely did not merit that kind of atmosphere. The decor was very pretty though. We probably wont be back.

Be prepared to be whisked away to your best friends mothers house in a neighborhood that is swiftly being overtaken by large development. Walk in and be hugged by the delightfully appointed decor, wood on wood, with flying carpets used as paintings. My dining companion and I have never veered from the appetizer section, filling our table with small plates. We discovered that we needed to order two red pepper dips and two zucchini pancakes. Then we get a different side each, last night falafel (accompanied by a small salad with an addictive vinaigrette) and an eggplant and tomato relish. Along with heavenly fluffy gyro triangles, this is enough to satisfy as a meal to dream about until we return.
