This is the best bakery in Fort Worth. They are also incredibly kind. I had pre-ordered some pastries and then became ill the morning to pick them up. They offered to deliver them to my house, which was soo kind!

I had just dropped my cats off from grooming in the rain early on a Saturday, and this breakfast made up for all of that!Sadly, I didnt get a pic of the hand pie specifically, but sausage and cheddar is a winner. The medium eggs had a perfect texture at the edges, and the toast (I chose brioche) was also wonderful. Fast, friendly service, too.Now with the cats home, time to finish the hand pie for lunch!

The best croissants and pastries in FW! So flaky and buttery. Great assortment of other baked goods and breads too. If you want a full breakfast or lunch, visit The Lunch Box on Camp Bowie which is attached to another Black Rooster location.

They are open again. Went today eager to get some bakery items. Got there shortly after they opened and bought three items. Went to park down the street to enjoy and dropped one of the pastries by accident before I could even take a bite. Since this place is a drive from where I live I went back to get another item. By the time I got there they were sold out of what I wanted! As I was leaving the gentlemen behind the counter said you know what have a croissant on us since we don’t have what you came for. I love that kind of service and the bakery items, which is why I enjoy coming even if it is a drive. The almond croissant, the bacon cheddar croissant, and the peach galette were delicious and gone before it occurred to me to take a pic. Great start to a Saturday morning.

Yummy, huge breakfast tacos. Yogurt-granola-fruit breakfast parfait was so good and filling, could not eat the pastry that we bought. Excellent coffee, too. Plenty of comfortable seating on a Saturday morning. Most customers apparently get theirs to go, according to the cashier. Bright, friendly service, too. Great job, Black Rooster! Well be back soon.

I was looking to place an order for a couple of pies for a family get-together. I found Black Rooster Bakery through an online search, and I was excited to try their pies (made from scratch with all natural ingredients!). I was intrigued by the menu with some incredible selections. I was specifically looking for a lemon meringue and a banana cream pie which are not easy pies to find at local bakeries! Kelsey was very nice and made sure they could do a banana cream even though it was not on the current menu. She followed up by phone as well to confirm the order.Unfortunately, I am in IL and the Bakery is in TX. Due to an issue with a third-party site (and of no fault of the bakerys), the site listed a now-defunct bakery at a St Charles, IL address that happened to have the same name - except it listed the TX location phone number (although the area code probably should have clued me in). When my family member went to go pick up the pies is when we realized the issue. I called to explain to the bakery, and they were very kind and understanding. I feel terrible about all the trouble they went to making the pies and having them ready. But rest assured - if I make it to Texas anytime in the near future, I will definitely be stopping in and giving them my business! They have very friendly and courteous staff, a great menu, and I highly recommend giving them a try! Many thanks to everyone there for their help, and again - my sincere apologies!

We come to The Lunch Box for breakfast on Sundays pretty regularly and always get some pastry appetizers from The Black Rooster. So glad they opened a location here! By far the best pastries we have had in DFW.

We tried the downtown location this morning after seeing good reviews here and in the Star Telegram. We had the traditional breakfast which was very good. Our only observation was that the pastries were all out in the open on the counter and the place was inundated with houseflies. They need a glass case to cover. The patio could use some flowers along the fence.

This place USED to be one of our favorite authentic French bakeries and cafe in Fort Worth. Sadly we will never go back. I dont know if they changed owners or what happened but now its incredibly sub-standard food and lost all its authentic French charm. They used to have a large kitchen where they made everything including the baguettes and croissants. But they removed more than half of the kitchen and turned it into a very makeshift ugly dining area. And clearly they arent baking back there anymore.Despite the visual changed we still purchased the baguettes and the croissants like we normally have done in the past, but sadly they are now tasted exactly like the ones sold at Costco (when they used to be delicious and authentic). We literally tossed in the trash the spongy elastic tasting croissants. This place has seriously gone downhill and we wont be back. Such a disappointment of youre looking for authentic homemade French pastries. It is now just a regular old fake French coffee shop.-------Original review from 2014:We just flew back from Paris and were craving a true bakery to get our fix of croissants and baguettes. So happy to have found your cute little authentic cafe. You made our day. :-)

I ordered breakfast for my staff yesterday. The cruffins...I had never heard of one before I saw it on the menu, and I am now a fan for life! So flaky, and the cream cheese 🤤Even more impressive: I ordered 6 breakfast tacos but got only 5. They were kind enough to run the missing taco over! #supportlocal #cruffins #mmmm

Quaint bakery/breakfast spot. Friendly service, delicious classic breakfast with extra avocado since I don’t eat bacon with amazing biscuit and in season blueberry jam. Cookies are fantastic! We snuck in right before close so we didn’t get to have any of their sandwiches, but they still had a good assortment of baked goods. We grabbed several pastries and cookies and everything was split and shared. Worth it! Get your cookie fix here when you’re in Ft. Worth.

What happened to the selection!? The scones are still here and tasty, but I used to make the drive over for the bread and whatever special goodie was featured. The display case was half empty except for a few scones, cookies and macaroons. The bread selection consisted of a few baguette loaves, which I purchased two of and was completely saddened to find they were NOT the fantastic baguette I was used to getting at Black Rooster Bakery. It is so disappointing to have lost the one spot in town you used to be able to purchase delicious bread at. Feels like a death of a good friend.

Went for breakfast, our experience was sub-optimal, unfortunately. The coffee was very weak. Had an almond croissant and frittata. The egg was cooked very well and the potatoes were crisp, but it could use more seasoning. The croissant was on the dry side. He almond toping was good but the inside was cloyingly sweet and unremarkable. I would have preferred a traditional breakfast for the price. Sorry.

For the past couple times, I went in to purchase my regular favorites, of which both the texture and flavor were so differently bad. In addition, I have noticed the obvious change with the atmosphere in the store: unfriendly, no caring...it puzzles me and bugs me. I was thinking something must have changed. I went on google this morning and found out the ownership has been changed. Wow, I was so right, not my imagination at all. I have been in TCU area for over 30 years and was so happy when Black Rooster started their wonderful bakery in the neighborhood, because they were really good. Now, I have to scratch this place out of my list.Nothing stays forever, isnt that the truth.
