She was wonderful to deal with, and worked cohesively with the other departments to help us trade in my previous car, and get set up with my new one. She was pleasant and timely. She made sure the other departments got their portions of the deal done quickly and efficiently. We loved working with them, and plan on doing business with them in the future!
Great experience with Nelson Ford, Travis, and the whole team. I got fair trade-in value for my vehicle and fantastic service before and after the sale. The paperwork was quick, communication was great, and at no time throughout the transaction was anyone pushy. I will absolutely be checking in with Travis when we replace my wife’s vehicle in the next year or two.

The sales staff, especially Jonathon Pikop, were all very helpful in fulfilling any needs I required. Being in Michigan all of our communication was done via e-mail or by phone. To complete the sale process a packet was mailed to me, with a return envelope, so I could sign all the documents to complete the sale. They made arrangements to bring the truck to my home since I could not drive that far. I was under the impression that it was being brought on a flat bed, not being driven. When the truck arrived I went down to look it over and I could not believe the guys who had brought it did not fill it up. They left it almost on empty. i have never had this happen before. Guess Ill let the dealer ship know about it.

Very disappointing day. I have purchased my last 2 new vehicles from Nelson’s. Prior to showing up, I had made an appointment to be seen. After a while of waiting we were informed they could not help us since other people walked in with out an appointment. They explained we would have to come back in an hour an half. I explained to them we do not live in town, they still informed us we would have to wait. I do not find it right that people without appointments can be seen before people with appointments. I really hope they fix their process and would acknowledge the people that drive to see them. I have no intentions to ever return. Very unfortunate for the poor customer service.
First time taking my car here for an oil change and multipoint check. Staff was friendly and service was fast and valuable.
Called to make oil change appointment and they said just stop by our quick lube any time. When I got there I waited over an hour and couldnt even get into the building to wait. Once I got in it took an hour and 15 minutes to get an oil change. They vacuumed only the drivers side floor. Other places vacuum the entire car. Total cost over $60. Definitely not going there again.
We live about 4 blocks from a Ford dealer, but prefer to drive about 25 miles to Nelson Ford. The service is always exceptional!

I took my vehicle to Nelson Ford to have tires rotated. The previous owner had locks on the lug nuts and didnt leave the key with the vehicle. When I called the dealership, Travis said I should pull up to the service door and honk and the door would open. It had just started snowing quite hard, so I was grateful for that. From the moment I set foot in the business, I was informed on every level of what was happening by a kind young service man. If youre looking to purchase a vehicle or service your vehicle... this is the place to go. Excellent staff! Travis Hopkins, who sold us the car, lined up all the service for us. In and out in just a few minutes.
Dropped my pickup off there for some warranty work. They had my pickup for three weeks for a starter and kept giving me the runaround and every excuse in the book on why it wasn’t done or kept blaming my warranty people for not getting in contact with them. When I called my warranty people they had everything on file and waiting to go for claims but were waiting for Nelson to call them back to ok everything. In the three plus weeks my vehicle was there, Nelson had no communication with me about my vehicle or the problem unless I called them (even went a week without contact with them after they said they would call me back once they knew more). Will never go back and recommend nobody else going unless you can go a month or more without your vehicle.
They sold me a salvaged car, didn’t discover until I wanted to refinance the car. Sales manager makes it seem like they are not too interested in making this situation correct and more interested in looking for excuses for the fraud, so I am forced to seek legal advice. Don’t buy from this dealer.

Great dealership! Small town feel, big city competitive pricing. I had been shopping around, had been to many dealerships, and received the stereotypical sales tactics. I drove 2.5 hours on a workday to view a pick-up at Nelson. Travis, the salesman I was working with, was polite and personable without being pushy. The staff gave my pup a lot of love while we were working out the details. Stayed late for me and delivered my pick-up next day so I could take my other vehicle home. Everyone was polite, friendly, and professional, offer quality vehicles, and keep a well managed website. I would recommend shopping at Nelson for your next vehicle.

I went in for an oil change and they completed the inspection and indicated on my checkout report the battery and cables were in good condition, no problems. Apparently they did not take the battery cover off because I discovered four weeks later my battery was full of corosion, caked on, apparently there for more than 4 weeks. I called Nelson Ford, talked to a service person that told me it was unfortunate, would refund the cost of my oil change and hung up on me. I called back. The receptionist would let the owner know what happened and one of the owners would call me back. That was September 28th. I have not received a phone call. Very disappointed in the service received.
I used to live in Alexandria and I purchased my vehicles near there. A few years ago, I moved near Fergus Falls and have been bringing my 2018 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Dodge Ram to Nelson Auto . My Advisor is Chris J. He has been fantastic to deal with. As many know, there can always be issues when dealing with a Car Dealer of this size. I have had my share of them. I have learned that it is the nature of the beast with so many customers. However, Chris has made every issue turn out positive when dealing with the service department. I hope his Supervisor recognizes his value. Had it not been for him, I may have taken my business elsewhere. I have emailed and talked to Owners and Managers who sometimes delegate issues that I have had without even talking to me, as well as a few other things. I have had several members of my family purchase their vehicles there as well over the years. Basically, he has kept us coming back. Chris usually handles it head-on and gets results. Therefore, even with the bad, I think I will stick around for another year when I trade in my vehicles for a new Yukon. I need something that will fit all of my Grandchildren!

Coolant level is low after service. The coolant level was below cold water level when engine was warm. Other than that the sevice was great no wait time to get in.
I took my car in to get the wheel bearing replaced. They told me I need new tires before they can be sure the sound is wheel bearings. I spent $1000 on new tires. Called the shop. The girl on the phone said she is ordering the wheel bearings and we set a date for 4 weeks out to be sure they would have the parts when I got there. When I pulled up for my appointment, a guy jumps in the car and drives around the block. Comes back to tell me I need new wheel bearings then increased the price on me by nearly $700 MORE than what the girl quoted me. Also found out the wheel bearing were never even ordered to begin with. Then They charged me $62 for the drive around the block which was completely unnecessary since I already knew what the issue was. These guys are crooked. Stay far far away from them.
Bought a 2018 GMC Sierra in June with 9000 miles. Truck began experiencing major issues with computer where it would shift into drive but rev like in neutral. Had to disconnect battery to reset. It has since happened 3 other times and now power steering went out, check engine light, brakes going in and out automatically. Took to local GM shop twice and cannot find problem. Called Nelson numerous times and had a hard time getting returned calls. They never offered solutions to this problem until I threatened with legal action. Then they offered 2 trucks with 37k miles on them. Asked for my money back and was told this was not an option. Now speaking with Attorney General MN, Department of Public Safety Consumer Protection, my law firm, and General Motors. My family and myself cannot afford to pay $40,000 for a defective vehicle and not make a return or unable to be fixed. At least General Motors calls me back numerously and has offered to buy it back out of Michigan. We shall see. Buyers beware! Customer service is sometimes more valuable than sticker price.
Gave this dealership a couple tries and was unhappy both times. They mislead customers and misdiagnose problems. The only way I would even consider going back is if they fully refund my last visit and actually make the correct repair. This review will change if they make it right.

All well, except that the technician changed the time on the car clock and I am still trying to figure out how to set the correct time. Also he changed the radio station that I listen to, but I was skillful enough to correct that. This hasnt happened in all the other times I have had my car serviced there.
In mid-June while staying at The Red Lantern Lodge on Ottertail Lake we experienced problems with our 2014 Dodge mini van. After talking to Chris in your service department we were given a quick appointment. Two difference problems were detected by Chris and both resolved quickly. He was very professional, kept us informed and got us back on the road quickly. Everyone on the waiting area was friendly and checked on us often. GREAT job!! Bill and Cheri, Minnesota transplants now living in year-round warm Florida.

Needed to get a different vehicle. We got a new car. Felt a bit rushed. I didnt take the time to look as good as I should have. That was not the fault of the salesman. It was mine. I got a good car and am mostly happy with it. I didnt check for cruise control and would have liked that.

Thorough service at the Quick Lane. I rely on their inspections during each oil change. I drive an older Ford and like to keep it in top shape. The Quick Lane service always advises me of any issue that I should keep on top of.
The service is always fast and the people are good. However I think I may stop taking it through the wash they offer. Twice now my wife had her 7 pin trailer hook up knocked off. The first one we had was not installed by them but after I purchased a new one from them and had it installed a month ago or so the cover for the 7 pins was lost after we had it washed just the other day. They checked the wash but found nothing and did not offer to replace a simple cover. We have never used the hook up yet so I do not know how this got lost but I think it is in the wash. Something that is professionally installed within a month or two should not come lose or loose parts right away in my opinion.
I had emailed someone to look at a vehicle I was interested in (hour drive), they had the vehicle ready for me. I test drove it, it was a nice car and for a decent price. A purchase agreement was typed up, and we were going to start getting credit approval. It was later in the evening and I had an appointment to get to, but told them we would start getting a credit app going thru their website. That night we did the credit app. The next day he emailed me saying that the vehicle had sold to someone else that morning! There was no phone call to inform me about another potential buyer, nor the decency to tell the others that the vehicle was in the process of being SOLD! So, get this...couple hours pass...I get another email saying the vehicle did NOT sell, and that I could still get it. Seriously, this company needs to get their customer service, and appreciation in order! Clearly my business was not good enough, so you went with someone else who wanted the vehicle but it fell thru. Karma at its finest. I will not go back again.

A little odd that when we have oil changes or recalls fixed we get asked to do a review but when we had it in 3 times for the same issue we did not get a request or a call. We suggested the problem source on the first visit and were told it couldnt be the problem. After paying a warranty deductible for a replacement module that was not the issue and contacting ford the problem was finally found and it turned out to be what we thought. The body shop had not connected wiring properly and it had come loose. We are out the $100 deductible and 250 miles of driving to get it in three times but never asked to do a review on those visits. The oil change went really well and Chris was very helpful on our tire purchase.
