Everyone at this shop was professional, courteous and very helpful. I want to give a personal shout out to Tony and Turk from the Falls Church location for their exemplary work during my car service. They both did an outstanding job keeping me updated during the process from initial intake to pickup. Turk took his time to show me the issues with the car that were addressed and the guys in the shop also showed me the old worn out parts that had to be replaced. I will keep bringing my vehicles back to this location since they are trustworthy and professional mechanics. I wish them continued success and thank them for their awesome work.

Showed up at 4:20 for a vehicle inspection, person told me they weren’t doing them for the day even though on the phone it says until 5pm. Mechanic left at 4:40 leaving plenty of time to complete the inspection. Very unprofessional staff at the front desk

I was so impressed with the service I received yesterday- inspection, oil change, and rotation. Tony was so courteous on the phone and in person. They even gave me a bag to put my tire lock in. It was clean inside to wait as well.

Turk, the store Manager, is absolutely amazing. Assisted me as soon as I walked in and I was in and out within 15 minutes and I had one car that needed a state inspection and the other an oil change. They even gave me a quote for new tires along with a car freshener that smells amazing. Will be coming back for sure.

This is easily the worst most unprofessional car shop Ive ever been to.TL;DR for those who dont want to read the dissertation that follows, the manager (Turk) and staff of this shop are utterly lacking in basic integrity, respect, or ability. My car went into their shop with no issues and came out with a damaged tire. They were notified of the issue with their service immediately, acknowledged it, then refused to remedy the problem. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP. Theres a reason the reviews for this shop are so poor. Theres no shortage of shops in this area, so dont risk your money or your vehicle going to this one.On Friday 3/12, I brought my car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and state and emissions inspections: basic routine work. My car entered the shop with no issues yet when I got in my car to leave following the service, I noticed that my front right tire pressure sensor was only showing 16 psi. The tire was not visibly flat so I assumed something got crossed in the rotation. I spoke to the manager Turk and he indicated that the mechanics were gone for the day, so Id have to bring my car back the following day. On my way home my car was leaning to the left, and after pulling to the side of the road to check my tires, I realized by rear left tire was flat. Clearly something had happened when my tires were rotated. While this was obviously frustrating, given that Turk had indicated that theyd be willing to take a look at the issue when I brought my car back, I wasnt too upset.As I had things to do on Saturday and the shop is closed on Sunday, I brought my car in on Monday. I explained the issue and was told theyd see what they could do. I received a call in the afternoon and was told that there was nothing they could do about my tire because the damage causing the leak was on the inner sidewall of the tire. After explaining that I had spoken to Turk about the issue I was told that he wasnt in and would give me a call the following day. The call with Turk on Tuesday was absolutely disgraceful; I dont think Ive ever encountered such a brazen lack of integrity. The simple facts are that my tire didnt have a flat when I brought it in (something that Turk did not contest), that I immediately notified him of an issue with the service after receiving my car, and that I had a flat upon leaving his shop. Yet he refused to take any responsibility for the issue, instead choosing to question me about how I could have driven the car with a leaky tire (apparently portable pumps arent a thing he was privy to) and insist that its utterly impossible that one of his mechanics could have made a mistake. His resolution to this issue was to offer me a tire at cost and waive the labor of installing it. So, I effectively paid for their screw-up. The utter lack of respect or integrity shown in our conversation was an absolute disgrace. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. If they make a mistake they will not take responsibility and you will pay for it.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They work on all makes and models of cars and can generally fix all repairs. They frequently have coupons available so check their website for any offers ahead of time.

As a former employee, and having been around dealerships and multiple small shops, va tire and auto is by far the best company. Very fair and honest . Inspector does a very great job at keeping people safe on the road . Manager is top level friendly and great customer service . Needs to be built a bit bigger though. They’re in between dc and the toll. Hopefully they’ll grow in the near future ! I’ve sent 20+ friends and family members for service and repairs . No complaints .

Well. I paid 1k dollars to fix my car. As soon as I took it onto the road it stalled and wouldnt start again. However people make mistakes, when I called to let them know they got a mechanic to drive down and look at my car. Turns out the exhaust @ the engine was loose and needed adjustment. They were swift courteous and efficient and thats why I give 4 stars.

Had my car serviced at this location and was told I needed to have work done worth over $3,000 to pass inspection. Thus far my only expenditure would have been the diagnostic test charge of over $127, so no biggie. Although we had discussed and I had approved other work worth almost $600 in the car, I wish they had let me know about the $3K issue prior to completing the $600 work.Thing is my car is a 2003 so its worth a lot less than $3k. If youre a reputable mechanic you call and discuss things like this with the client. Why would I spend $600 fixing a car that wont pass inspection because of an issue worth more than the car? The shop technically didnt do anything illegal BUT they should have looked out for me and called first. I called and spoke to a supervisor, Joe. He told me he understood my point and hed have the manager contact me--nothing to this day. If you are looking for a shop that will look out for you go elsewhere. If youre still going to continue to go here, always get a second opinion before getting the work done. Very disappointed customer. My wife and I have been loyal customers and spend thousands of dollars here. That ends with this project.

Wont install my tire unless I purchase them from you? That doesnt sound like a tire shop.. but that seems typical for most chains . However Ive been there for other services now. Seems like other places. NTB, etc. Theyre good and reliable. Seem trustworthy. I changed my stars and gone up in review.

Terrible experience this time. Came here for safety inspection on 9/8. It failed due to breaks and a tire. VA tire & auto put in new breaks(paid $20 for failed safety inspection & breaks) but I bought tires from Costco and it was under warranty so I got my faulty tire replaced at Costco. Came back on 9/9(next day) at 7:30am, guy says I need to pay $20 again. I was not happy paying twice for one safety inspection and told them they are losing me as customer but just wanted to get it over with so agreed to pay another $20. Waited for one hour, I saw car pulled into bay that was behind in the waiting queue. Not sure if it was in retaliation. I have had decent experiences at this location before but left disappointed this time.

Brought my truck in for inspection and they rejected its safety inspection because of a removable phone holder. Offered to fix this for $15....what a joke. Left and went down the road even though i knew it would cost me more. At a certain point is better to give $20 of your business to an honest and professional business than to give $1 to a business trying to scam customers out of every possible dollar.Should have listened to the advice of a neighbor who had their engine seized up after VA Tire & Auto didn’t put anywhere close to the recommended amount of oil in during an oil change (although they sure charged her for the full 7 quarts).Sometimes I guess you need to learn for yourself but hopefully those reading this review can learn from both of these terrible experiences. There are many better run, more affordable and honest businesses in the area to bring your business to!

Stay away from this place for Va safety inspection. They tend to fail cars for inspection to get unneeded services for your car! Unethical service and business practices.

Dont go here for a safety inspection. They failed my car for what the service manager described as old and aged tires. (Note: The tires only had 33,000 miles on them and were just serviced at another shop three months ago for a flat repair.)So I took it to another tire shop in the area days later and they said the tread depth looked great, no uneven wear on the tires, and no cracks in the rubber.I feel like this place was trying shake money out of my wallet on what was a non-existent problem.

I think they were very over zealous with their safety inspection here.I was able to find their recommended repairs for much lower cost at other service stations.

Great customer service and free air!

This is one of only two places Ill take my automobiles. When my step-father was visiting he had an issue before he pulled out of the drive way when they were leaving right before their long trip back to Atlanta. We took it here on a Sunday and they put their best mechanic on it and had him up and running by that afternoon. Informative, kind and honest.

I’ve come here literally 4 times to try to get an inspection. They apparently employ somebody full time to man the place for the sole purpose of telling people that they can’t do any of the services they advertise prominently on outside banners. Because that’s what they do, with a snide manner and zero advice on a better time/place to come. Avoid.

I went to Virginia Tire & Auto of Falls Church to have the AC repaired in my car. I worked with Steve, and he was fantastic. He explained to me what was wrong, what they were going to do to fix it, and exactly how much it would cost. It was less than I expected, and my AC is now running perfectly! Thank goodness, too, because its going to be over 90 degrees today!

If I could give them zero stars I would. My service was unprofessional and unacceptable. This Virginia Tire and auto skimped out on work they just didnt feel like doing and in turn resulted in me having to pay my dealer for the same exact diagnostics AGAIN because of Virginia Tire and Auto of Falls Churches Negligence. I arrived to drop off my car saying the check engine light was on to be repeatedly and rudely told you cant stay, you have to drop it off, we are busy! You didnt make an appointment?! To which I calmly explained it had just come on, and asked for a rental (of which they had plenty) I was charged for diagnostics then told my part had been recalled. I took it to my dealer to be told that was a lie and was 100% false and that Virginia Tire and Auto just passed me off for something they could and should have fixed. Finally, I had bought the bulbs for my rear brake light that had gone out and had trouble installing them myself so I asked for help to which they charged me $25 for installation of a bulb I bought and provided.

The staff lied to me about my brakes and gave me an estimate of $1,200.I went somewhere else, and there, they were able to identify the real problem on my car, and it definitely wasnt my brakes at all!!!And I finally spent less than $600 to have my car fixed at the other place.I realized later that they were doing a brake change/repair promotion, so obviously it explains everything!

Normally I go to the location in Centreville however I had an emergency repair come up and this was the closest location at the time. Gentleman in the front was friendly and made sure I had a ride since it was getting late. Only reason for four stars is I had was a misdiagnosis on one of the issues I was having with my vehicle.

Terrible. Brought my car for inspection, and they couldnt figure out how the headlights worked, so my car failed inspection. Upon demonstrating the lights, they still insisted that I replace some bulbs before theyd allow the car to pass. (Ive taken the car here twice before and its passed without complaint) Took the car next door to Sunoco, and it passed inspection within 15 minutes. Lesson learned - dont use Virginia Tire & Auto.The one star that Im forced to give is for the complimentary sodas in the waiting room.

Well, so much for good service. First time I used VA Tire & Auto, Falls Church, for anything other than safety & emission checks. Told them what I wanted, dropped the car off before I went to work with a note to call me. Told them again on the phone. At the end of the day, nothing had been done and I was given a bill for $119 for diagnostic work and $7 for shop supplies to tell me what I told them to do. Dont see me returning here for any kind of work.Update - The shop owner called me and after listening to my issues stated that he would refund my diagnostic work because I had clearly indicated the work I wanted completed.Update 2 - It took three weeks, but I did receive my refund and an apology. They are not perfect, but are willing to make it right.

Service is very slow. They r trying to be nice and polite. I called to make an appointment for oil change and nobody told me how long it’s gonna take until I didn’t come to the center and got from them that they don’t have enough stuff and it can be done in 1,5-2 hours. The quality of service itself is decent.UPD!! Brought today another car for oil change and it took them just half an hour. So probably just my bad luck

VA Tire and Auto mechanic misdiagnosed one of my front wheels as wobbling and failed my state safety inspection. However, the other autoshop found nothing wrong and my car passed the inspection at another inspection station. The mechanic wasted my time and money.

Used to be a great repair center. A poor emissions test experience, I will not be returning unless I have run out of options. My complaints about my inspection experience were dealt with by management dismissively. Sad 😔.Update. The emissions inspector initiated the inspection without the appropriate probe devices needed for a 1994 4WD 3/4 ton truck, and I was told, later, that such devices would have to be ordered. Attempts to use a dual exhaust probe set in my single tail pipe vehicle (hack) caused a test failure result. This result could not be corrected because the emissions test computer software had not been updated. This required the intervention of the District emissions inspector.No one likes vehicle inspections, much less failure results. This was a frustrating experience that once escalated to management was dealt with a shoulder shrug and the option to wait with an inconclusive result while the analysis computer was fixed, and the tailpipe probe was ordered and received.I had the test result status cleared/invalidated by the VA EPA supervisor, and the vehicle was tested without exception at another inspection station.I had to pay for two inspections.The facts are facts. My review is objective and stands. My observations cannot be swayed by an offer of a coupon or discount on my next repair.Management may wish to ensure that its technicians are equipped with, and maintain, the tools and equipment needed to serve inspection customers.Hopefully, in the time since my inspection experience, this problem has been corrected as it was promised.

PettyI went in for a safety inspection and they said my brakes were to low which was accurate. They gave me a quote for rotor and brakes, but I didnt get it done by them. I went to a local brake shop and they said the rotors were fine and I just need pads; all fine. I went back to Virginia Tire and Auto and they failed me again because and I quote Rotors need to be 24.60, I measured yours at 24.59 I mean really? they really must take pride in their calibrations.Save your money and go to Mr.Tire a few miles up 495 in Merrifield.

Wasted time and was told an obvious lie by one of the techs. Waited for state inspection, was told I would be last for the day by the guys inside, waited, and finally move up, 2 cars, and the tech comes out saying its going to be two more hours and doesnt think I can wait two hours - i asked why would two cars take two hours (one being out of state not needing state stuff) and he says thats how long etc... and is rather rude. I will never go here again purely bc I dont want to be lied to about my car and I feel this place, this tech would lie.

Took my car here for a state expection and they exceeded my expectations. I was given clear direction of what my car needed and the cost associated. I was even offered a bottle water while i wait.Ohhh and did i forget to mention it took less than 45 min for car inspection and an oil change.Job well done to the staff and the service.Super satisfied customer

Best service I’ve ever received with car services. Shuttle was available so I could drop off my car and get to work, and a shop car was loaned to me very easily until the problem was fixed!

Needed a new radiator. I called and was quoted an estimate of $520 to replace it plus thermostat, hoses and coolant. When I got there Shae informed me that his estimate was high and the actual cost would only be $457. They took about an hour to complete the work.Faster and cheaper than the stealership. I will be back.

Ive been here a few times for tires and once for an inspection. Ive bought more than one tire from them. I called once for an oil change quote and was quoted more than $10 more than what my dealer charged/what is standard. I figured they were just trying to get money out of me, which these places tend to do so no big deal. But recently I was told my tire had a bubble in it, which is a defect in the tire. When I called they said they would not replace the tire because I had not purchased extra warranty protection. The tire was very expensive and a product defect should be warranteed with purchase.

Took my truck here for inspection. They failed me because they said the rear breaks were locked up and they could not remove the drums. They wanted $800 to replace all the break lines and emergency break cable and bleed the breaks. I refused service and took my truck home put it on stands took the e-break of and the drums came right off. They are either incompetent or running a scam. Either way dont take your car here.UPDATE: I got a call from the manager so he clearly takes pride in maintaining customer satisfaction. Thats usually the sign of a well run shop, perhaps my experience was an anomaly. If I go back again I will provide further update.

Quickest inspection I’ve ever gotten

Its sad that managers would lie to their customers and their employees. I had a tire pop recently and utilized the VTA Valet service to pick up my car. Thats probably the only good thing about my recent experiences with VA Tire & Auto. The Valet picked up my car and one of the managers suggested that I replace all four tires. I informed him that I only needed the one done and he still suggested against it even though I told him I could not afford it. He told me that while he still suggests the other three being changed that they will go ahead and do the one since the tires I requested were in stock. When the Valet attendant dropped off my car, I noticed that my spare was still on the car. I asked the valet attendant why it was still on the car and he responded well I dont think they actually changed the tire. This didnt sound right, so he called his boss. When he was done with the conversation, he tells me that his boss said that they couldnt do just one tire and that the tires I wanted were not in stock. He also said that the manager would be calling me back about this. When the manager calls, I ask him why the popped tire was not replaced. He said that they couldnt do just one tire. I asked him why he told me they could go ahead and replace just the one for now and he said that I misheard him. I didnt mishear him...I was promised one could get done. I also asked why he told me there were tires available, but told my driver there were none. He said this was an error on his part and that they did not have the specific tire I wanted in stock. I honestly dont believe this and only think they wanted me to buy four tires. Upon checking the suggested for what they told me they wanted to do, which they didnt do, and they were going to charge me $1,300 for stuff I never requested and was never suggested in the first place.Im not the only one whos had issues with VTA...watch out if you decide to use VTA and any of their branches. Theyll charge you, or try to charge you, for stuff you dont need done! Never recommending this place and letting everyone I know that uses it to avoid it.

I went here for my safety inspection .Mind you I just got everything on the car fixed before I came here. They failed my safety inspection for tints and tires and supposedly other lights . Which was b.s I than notice they failed like 4 other people there too when I was there lol . Usually shops yell you whats wrong with the car before they sit there and reject it so you can have the option to fix it before the inspection . And customer service was dingy and unknowledgeable and the Manager had the nerve to say YOU people that fail be getting your cars done at places that go under the table so basically your saying midas ect goes under the table when the cars passed x2 at other places after I left from you ?Anyways . Do yourself a favor and dont go here unless you have a brand new car and brand new tires lol either way they still will fail you . #scam

They get one extra star for previous good service, but after the last time Im not sure Ill be back, even for my free tire rotations. I went in for an oil change and was told my brake fluid cap was missing. Since this is the only place I take my car for service, i know theyre the last ones that messed with that cap, but there was no offer (initially) of a fluid flush discount to help make it right. Several days later when i asked about a discount the manager on duty (different guy) offered to knock $20 off the service. I thought about taking the offer if and when they got a replacement cap, but after several weeks and multiple follow up phone calls and in person visits I gave up and went to my dealer.In summary, this complete lack of concern for an obvious safety hazard caused by their technicians really leaves me with a negative opinion of the whole va tire/auto operation. Ill likely be using my dealer for maintenance from now on.

The mechanics are great..the management is always messing things up and cutting corners. 1st I drop car off at 9am, he says it wont be ready until late afternoon. I ask if I keep my spot if I pick up daughter at 12. He says yes. I know the owner of the 2 cars directly after me. I drop car off at 12:40, and there is a 35+ charge for miscellaneous we never discussed..He says I dont know why they didnt tell you about charge, remembers it was himself, andhe removes the change( this has happenned before here). Noone calls me all day. I see my friends who were after me coming home..I call to check on my car, and he has told his staff I dropped the keys too late at 2pm (which again was 12:40)..They cant work on car today. I remind him of our conversations and never admits to dropping the ball on keeping the rotation for service. Horrible time management. Even the woman who came in at 12:41 after me was out of there. Was he spiteful about removing charge, or just messed up a 5 year customer because of other reasons. Always the only black guy. Good experience for small stuff yes. Too unorganized to trust with timely repairs. Mechanic is a good guy!

Good service, terrible prices. They charged me $500 to install a headlight in my truck. Online the price for the headlight is $50-100. Labor was 30 minutes. I hate walking away from places feeling like I just grabbed my ankles and yelled go for it!

These guys put my snow tires on and did my last oil change. They were friendly and pretty thourogh. They were helpful with estimates and the guys in the office were nice. I did notice that they indicated that they checked the automatic transmisson fluid on my stick shift car on the multi-point inspection sheet...maybe they checked the equivalent? I enjoyed being able to watch the service through the window to the shop (I like learning about my car), and they were pretty quick. They also vaccumed the interior when they were done, which is a nice touch for someone who spends as much time in the car as I do...

Great service, free shuttle service and even gave me a refund when they made a pricing error.

Wonderful people and great professionals

The manager, John, went above and beyond to make something right. A technician installed a cabin air filter, and then it started rubbing on the blower. I took it back in and John got right to it and fixed it. Turns out it wasnt the technicians fault; a mouse nest had fallen into the blower. John had to take the blower out to get the next out. Thanks, John!

This shop is incompetent and unethical. They needed three tries to fix what turned out to be a minor brake problem with my truck and kept giving it back to me as fixed despite the fact that all I had to do was get in start the car and depress the brake pedal to see it wasnt.Then there is the matter of my 2001 Xterra which they performed an inspection on and marked the condition of the timing belt as being N/A the same way they marked the condition on my truck which has a timing chain. I made the mistake of placing trust in this inspection and when the timing belt subsequently failed resulting in major engine damage they refused repeated requests to accept any measure of responsibility. None zero nada. Multiple calls to corporate resulted in nothing as well as they never even bothered to call me back.I can go on. That same shop visit where they inspected the Xterra they damaged the throttle body while cleaning it and once again did not listen to or properly duplicate the problem that I brought it in for. They suggested an engine air filter replacement which I declined as I can easily do it myself and when I opened the hood to change it I found that they had not secured the lid to the air filter box leaving it loose.Bad mechanics and bad business ethics mean this is a shop you should avoid.

Ive been here a few times since theyre close to home. Upsell, upsell, upsell is how this place stays in business. Guaranteed they find something else your car needs. Service is never fast, often slow. A lot really depends on which attendant happens to be working at the time.

Waited 1.5 hours for my inspection that I was told 1 hour for. Got finished and found out that they didnt do emissions test. Now I am being told another 2 hours to get the emissions. Never coming here again, the employees were friendly but not helpful at all.

I drove 40 mins after talking to the guy on the phone to get a va inspection and when i get here wait 10 mins they take my keys and all they come back and say the inspector got a private inspection to go to and wont b back till 3 it is 1240 right now that is very veryyyy bad 4 business

Got an oil change and a wheel alignment. I had an issue. I filed a complaint and the management were quick to respond to resolve the issue.

I took my car for Emission Inspection. They made some excuses that my pads are not ok and brakes are not ok. Please not use this place to fix your cars here. They are rip off.

My tire had gone flat several times on my trip from the south to Virginia to visit family. VA tire and auto not only saw me as a walk in on Christmas eve, they filled and inspected my tires free of charge. Very friendly staff, could not recommend more highly.

Gets the job done. Sent bring tires here to get mounted, they add surcharges on tires bought elsewhere.
