These are the most comfortable flip flop open toe shoes 👟 I’ve ever worn. The only place I saw them was at commonwealth. Great service. I bought many things there, most of them I haven’t seen another stores.

Very cool and unique running store! Im not from Evanston, but was visiting a family member in the area. I needed a handheld flask for an Ultra I was going to run in a few days, upon returning to Colorado. The person behind the desk was extremely courteous, and the store had a great selection and some really nice Commonwealth Running apparel. The pricing was fair, especially considering this is not a big box store, which I also like about it. I found the kind of flask I was looking for -- a soft, collapsible flask with the thumb-type hand grip, bite valve, and mini-stretch storage pocket -- which is actually not that easy to find, even online. This place deserves your business, whether youre a seasoned runner or just getting into it.

I moved to CA and I still order my running needs from this team. Supporting a running store that, truly, supports runners is what it’s all about.Shipments always arrive on time or early.

Brian got a good sense of my needs, assessed my stride on the treadmill, fit me for shoes, and had me out the door in a great pair all in about 15 minutes. He also recommended some useful accessories without any pressure. Ill definitely be coming back for any running gear I need.

Matt always made time to not only show me various shoes but to explain the whys and wherefores of various models. Then, in turn I would relate the conversations to my friend (who had researched the various models on line). In turn, they settled for/on a particular shoe...purchased it from Matt...and has been satisfied since. Thanks to Matt for always taking the time to answer questions. BUYER BEWARE: I purchased a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 22 from Commonwealth Running. At the time of check out, there was no disclaimer about their return policy. When they arrived, I tried them on walked around a few feet within my home. Immediately, my feet began to ache. I reached out asking to have them returned, and I was informed that any shoe that is marked down on their website is a final sale, and I wouldnt be allowed to return or to have store credit. This is a terrible business. Especially for someone who does 98% of their shopping online. Worst experience.

Horrendous customer service. By far the worst shoe shopping experience I have ever experienced. The man at the shop was clueless about the different models of shoes, he was in a COMPLETE rush even though we were the ONLY ones at this clown shop, and was just straight up rude and rushing my friend and I. I asked for a running analysis and all he did was say walk a few steps forward and then back. First he said my right foot pronates and that the other one is neutral and then he said the left one pronates and that the right one is neutral. He was so rude we felt extremely uncomfortable and walked out 10 minutes into checking shoes. We will go to the Naperville running store since they provided WORLD CLASS service even though they are an hour drive further (well worth the drive). This place is a joke and I’m positive many of the reviews here had to be by friends.

Great products and prices but most of all knowledgeable, friendly yet laid-back help to find the right shoes for me and my husband. Ive had foot surgery requiring prescription orthotics and my husband has wide feet and few shoes work well for him. Brian was able to set us both up easily with shoes we love and explained exactly why. And when I needed new shoes, he REMEMBERED what kind of shoe worked best for me and explained what had changed from last years model. The store has a great feel and the customer service in unparalleled. They also reward repeat customers. Highly recommend.

I’ve popped in here a few times and they have a good mix of shoes, recovery products, and other miscellaneous gear.Other things that I appreciate are the staff, they definitely know their stuff when it comes to giving recommendations and their knowledge about upcoming new releases. Their website is easy to maneuver and worth checking out before coming in.The last bonus I’ll mention is their loyalty program. As someone who is consistently buying new shoes it’s great to earn some points toward a discount. I’ll definitely be returning for future purchases either online or in person.

Being in quarantine, j had no idea how to get help with finding a new pair of shoes. Luckily, Matt, the owner of Commonwealth Running Co, was there! I normally take a size 12. But, in the shoe I really wanted it turned out I needed a 12.5. Without a brick n mortar store with employees that actually care about their customers, I wouldve ordered the wrong size online, and then wouldve had to deal with the reps online to fix it.

June 2020 - Im a 50-something cyclist who decided to augment my training with some running. Commonwealth put me on their treadmill and assessed my needs and gave me several shoe selections that werent too expensive. I selected a pair of New Balance.Three months in and I am very satisfied that I got the right shoes for me. Commonwealth is now my go-to shop for my running needs.

Great staff from the first day I walked in super nice and greeted at the door with a smile. Training for my fist marathon and went in for a shoes fitting on Wednesday. The owner Matt was very knowledgeable and told me about the different brands I tried on, as well as answer the questions I had. After testing different shoes I ended up with the Brooks adrenaline GT20. First pair and happy with the purchase I made. Went on my first run and they were great, nice and light but also supportive on my foot. Glad to have a running store so close to work.

I have been in to Commonwealth a few times since they opened. The owner, Matt, and other staff have been so helpful. Most recently, I wanted to replace my running shoes. I have been happily wearing the same brand and model for years. But I wanted to try something different...my achilles have been feeling a bit strained these days. Matt understood what I was looking for and was very patient and helpful. He brought out a range of shoes for me to try and encouraged me to take a little run in each pair. I ended up with the same brand shoe but a different model. 52 miles in I can say they are exactly what my feet needed.
