Phenomenal! I had a plumbing leak in an older house. I called Krause to see if they could help. Not only did they help by recommending a PlumberSylvester. Who got the job done quickly and professionally. They were able to help repair the part needed. A True GEM of Erie if you ever need anything done on your house go here there experience is unmatched!! Dont bother going anywhere where else. 10/10

I just picked up a full door screen insert that not only needed new screening, but also some added cross pieces to give it more support. I described what I wanted and trusted them to do a good job, and as usual, they came through with flying colors. It looks great and I will no longer have the problem that necessitated the extra cross members. You will never be disappointed with Kraus Department Store!

We have 96 year old house and searched all over for a rare size fluorescent tube light bulb that goes over the sink, nobody had it till we went to Kraus and right away they knew what we wanted. Needed a wing nut for a meat grinder, it only took them a minute to find the appropriate one. Not only do they have what you need, but understand what you are looking for when you ask, while employees at other stores give you that clueless look like you are asking for something they never heard of. Love this store and they carry every thing from cast iron cookware to glass globes for your lamps.

They have a small post office like in the 3 story hardware store. U can go pay your utility bills there. It was a great store

Wow this place has way more than I expected. I still havent been able to browse through every isle but Im getting closer lol. Thats because I only get there when I happen to go with my boss and can only look around until he is done and ready to leave. See they close I believe at 5:30 Monday thru Friday and well I work till 4:30 so by the time I walk all the way there it would probably be just about closing time. But they have basically every tool one could possibly need, carry an assortment of brands that vary in price depending on Im guessing quality and popularity. They have everything you would expect to find in a hardware store. But then they also carry stuff like clothes, Hats, wallets, a few different childrens toys, ladies brooches, bicycle accessories, as well as different items for your pets. Yesterday I found an isle with a large assortment of candies and snacks. So every visit tends to turn up something new and interesting to check out. Cant wait till my next visit lol I recommend you go check it out for yourself sometime. You too may be surprised at what you find.

This is a treasure. Part department store, part hardware store, this place has First Communion dresses, original art light shades, lamps, gadgets. Youve got to experience it. Theres something there you need and the staff is friendly and helpful!!

The family/employees here know you even when they dont! Its the store that has any and everything you need! And if by chance they dont, theyll find it, or tell you where you can get it! The brothers on parade street. These guys are the very epitome of get it done right with the right tool. They always have items that others have to special order and they will also hunt down that elusive item for ya! Whether its Tom and Joe in hardware, or my buddy Louie in electrical, these guys know their stuff. They can rewire that old Tiffany lamp, fix your broken windows and screens. Cut custom glass and Plexiglas. They really can do it all. Please consider them before running all the way to the big chain stores that lack the level of any real knowledge of whatever department ya gotta yell for. Forever. Go see the boys on parade. They been at this a while and their friendly but really hard earned knowledge will see to the completion of any honeydo list.

I Love this store! They are everything that is missing in retail sales today! If I want something specific and of great quality I can find it at Kraus unlike at Lowe’s or Home Depot. or many of the big corporate stores. I especially appreciate their willingness to search for items and special order things that I need so as I don’t have to settle for something less than what I wanted. I may pay a little more for things but, it is worth it to me to get what I want.. That is called service and that is what is totally missing in retail sales today. Shopping online is not fun and to much trouble you get the items then they are not the right material and you have to send it back and wait another 3 weeks to get it ! I had to wait 6 months for a BBQ grill from another company. I absolutely recommend Kraus Department Store God Bless them!

Should be your first stop for everything and anything. Seriously if you need something for the kitchen, hot water tank, rent a cement mixer or youre trying to fix your roof! Always stop here first.

This is THE best small family owned Hardware Store ever! Youre greeted by extremely knowledgeable staff that will help you with whatever project youre working on. I dont get into the habit of rating stuff, but this deserves more than 5 stars!

THE BEST local everything store - I have had EVERY antique lamp rewired there, and they have a great selection of harps/finials/shades to choose from - let a staff fit your lamp for the perfect match! The coolest store in Erie - hands down! They are all incredibly knowledgeable and do everything from lamps, cut keys, repair screen doors - you name it!

Kraus Department Store has everything! People who work there are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They can even cut large sheets of plexiglass that the big box stores cannot handle. Support local!

I went there to get wheels and pipe to fix a lawn mower that had a wheel fall off. I was assisted beyond and above. Very appreciative of the help directing me with a easier and less expensive way of problem. The wheel was even put on for me and I didnt have to ask. The store is the bomb. They have everything you will want if you dont have it they will get it for you must see and feel the experience yourself so hit on down to krauses and get what you need. And customer service will allow you you will not be standing if you are standing you must be in line.

There is no finer hardware store in the city. The brothers that own this, should be proud knowing it’s been a part of the Erie market for over a decade. Their staff have their I’s dotted, and their T’s crossed. If you have a question, it will be answered in complete. The list of inventory is SO extensive that it would be impossible to attempt to provide such a list. On the rare occasion that I’ve needed something that was not within their inventory, they not only happily provided the option to order it, but usually were able to provide it within the same week it was ordered. This store makes it easy for me to remember why I prefer to shop local, opposed to the huge, impersonal chain stores. Erie is lucky to have this wonderful asset within our city!

I was told I could not enter again without a mask. 11 years of business. I have a medical disability AND a card stating so, and they still want to discriminate. I will NOT return. EVER. I know what the Governors order says as well as the local health department. You STILL cannot deny someone entry due to a medical disability. Ive been to law school ;)

Nice general store type of place. Has a post office in it, so its a good option if you have something to mail out, and are someone who carries, as you have to disarm to legally enter a post office under federal law. Not the case there, as it is a store, rather than a federal building. Staff is friendly and helpful, and its easy to find what you are looking for there.Well worth stopping by, even just to browse, as they carry a bit of everything, including fishing and hunting supplies, as well as long guns. Hardware, lighting, kitchen equipment, and even hats.

It’s very overpricedBetween 5-10$ over priced.((for ex swiffer wet jet mops at Walmart is around 22$ but here it’s 30$))You can deff find products cheaper at Walmart, harbor freight, or Lowes etc (if you wanted to save money)I would deff buy more often if it wasn’t over pricedAnd also the fact that I asked for a specific part and he said he can find one but it might take awhile. It’s been 9 months. I think he just forgot

Family-owned, City of Erie business for over 125 years. Theres not much you cant find here. If they dont have it, theyll point you to where they do. Grateful not to need to travel to big box suburbia.

This place has knowledge on just about everything. Plus they have suppliers who can find even very hard to find things.

Went in today for some projects needing done. They have a screen service available. They usually take about a week to get it back. I also had Joe from plumbing help me out with a faucet issue. He was very kind and helpful.

Kraus has a great inventory and even has things you wont find at a big box store. Great staff working there. The owner and his son are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Kraus Department Store literally has EVERYTHING youd need. Yesterday I needed two 4 pieces of wire, stripped at both ends, and a wire nuts... they accommodated my needs. Today we purchased a quality propane grill. You can even get lamps rewired and screens redone. The staff is always pleasand and helpful.
