Will never take a vehicle here again. My 30 year old classic car was sent here to have parts installed and to have a annual state inspection. Was immediately told that the parts brought in can not be installed as they do not install customer parts. The parts consisted of drum brake pads/cylinders/rotors, 2 tires, etc. I also knew that the car needed a few extra parts, and repairs no problem. Battery hold down was missing, wiper blades were worn, and needed 2 tires mounted and balanced.Hammett Motors once again firmly stood their ground on not installing customers parts as they can not Guarantee them but after a little discussion agreed to do the work and the inspection.Hammett Motors found that the car needed an entirely new exhaust system as the one on the car was completely rotted away (3 years old), and it also needed a Catalytic Converter. Hammett Motors charged $269 for a universal Catalytic Converter, one that is priced at $82 at any local auto parts store. Hammett Motors also removed a Stainless Steel Flowmaster Muffler (because it was rotted away - Stainless Steel doesnt rust) and installed what is a $30 everyday muffler but way over charged. Hammett Motors then found that the horn was nonfunctional, and in order to pass the PA state inspection needed fixed. Their way of fixing the horn on a 30 year old classic car wasnt to find the broken wire and fix it like a normal mechanic should, but it was much easier to charge $50 to screw a button to the dashboard like some teenager would do. So now the classic car has 2 screw holes in the dash.So all in all, to install an exhaust, fix some brakes, drill 2 holes in the dashboard, mount and balance 2 tires, install 2 wiper blades, complete the state inspection took OVER 21 days to complete and charged over $769.Oh and by the way, me being the owner of the car never received a phone call from the garage about the work to be completed, and how they would complete it. The car was dropped off by a family member. What I will always remember about Hammett Motors is this 3 weeks to repair, $769.00, and 2 screw hole in my classic car with no communication. My recommendation.....keep driving to the next garage.
