As a woman, I had simply resigned myself to paying more for car services. I thought the Thompson Family, like everyone else in their business, would succumb to this greedy, unfair and despicable practice. They did not...THEY WERE COURTEOUS, MORE THAN FAIR AND RESPECTFUL!Everything at Thompsons was about customer service! From the temperature in the waiting room, the lightening speed of their service, and their fair prices. My mechanic was knowledgable but didnt talk down to me. Ill never go anywhere else.Dont walk! Top notch, 5 star company. I have been taking my car here for about 3 years and they provide the best customer service! I have total confidence with their work and their prices are reasonable. It was good. Took them a REALLY long time to do an oil change. Dropped off an 11am appointment & they didnt call for me to pick up until after 3pm. We use the work truck for deliveries & to have it out that long was an inconvenience. I guess I shouldve gone to Jiffy lube or Grease Monkey if I wanted it fast. They were, however,thorough & found everything we need repaired.

We took our vehicle in for a routine oil change before going out of town for a 6 week adventure and found out there was something wrong with the turbo(s). I took my 08 Ranger in for an oil change and find out where there was a fluid leak. They found a transmission gasket was leaking. Jaime explained the issue and cost; replaced the gasket and no more leak! Jaime and Bob were exceptional to work with. After getting a very warm greeting upon entering the front door during one of the coldest days of the year, I was given a ride during the blizzard to a nearby restaurant by Bob Thompson while the team worked on getting my oil changed. They even helped to realign my front fender which was damaged earlier in the week for no charge. Ive been taking my cars to Thompson Automotive for nearly 10 years. I drive 30 minutes across town to take may car there because they prove to me every time I bring my car in that I can trust them, that they are experts at what they do, and that they care about me. I have reached the point where I have complete confidence that, when I bring my car in to have a problem addressed and ask them to let me know about anything else they see, Im not going to be taken advantage of -- if theres an issue, theyll tell me (and even show me if I ask), and if theres not, they wont make something up. I used to get quotes from other shops to make sure I was being charged fairly and I dont even do that any more because I have never been charged or quoted a price that wasnt completely fair and reasonable (even when it may have been more than I wished it were). I cant recommend Jaime, Bob and their team more highly. Thompson Automotive is everything you want an auto repair shop to be - highly skilled, fairly priced, clear communicators, friendly people with a huge emphasis on customer service. Absolutely terrific.

An honest and friendly business. Very knowledgeable and I havent found a problem they cant fix. They inspected my vehicle on my first visit and gave me a list of recommend maintenance which i have found very useful. Not too expensive and they were able to fix an issue I had been experiencing for over a year that no one else had been able to figure out.

Unfortunately, I broke down on my way home this afternoon. Fortunately, it was within 200ft of this amazing company. The staff is wonderful, kind, welcoming, they all showed concerned and express sympathy. They made me feel my vehicle problem was their top priority. The mechanic heard I was broke down on the street and without hesitation he jumped into action. Im thankful for this company.Including me in the process helped tremendously. Starting with them explaining what could be causing my vehicle problems and how they would address it, all the way to the end with the follow up phone calls and emails! I even got a reminder my oil and service was due.Not only do I recommend them to a stranger I recommend them to my family, including my kids.Stop looking for a honest, hard working, straight forward, dependable, affordable mechanic. You’ve just found them!!

Short Version:Nice people who seem to do a good job, but are expensive compared to other shops and I do not agree with the way that they did business with me or treated me as a customer.Long Version:I will be as factual as I can about everything that happened, so if you have the time, this is worth the read. First off, Jamie and Bob are nice and seem to know what they’re doing. I typically do my own car work because I don’t always trust others to do good job, but I decided to give Thompson automotive a try after a good recommendation and my first experience with them was largely positive. The only downside: the cost was a lot higher than other places I have taken my car to.My second time in was less positive. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday afternoon before heading out of town for the rest of the week. I was getting one step colder spark plugs installed in my modified Subaru and having the firewall spot welds checked.My first issue was that I did not hear anything at all until the following Monday morning when I finally called them to find out what was going on. They went and checked and told me that the car was done, which surprised me as Ive never had a mechanic shop not call me before doing the work to tell me the cost ($415, far more than Ive ever paid for my spark plugs on this car anywhere else). I asked about the spot welds and they said they would find Bob and call back. I then waited all day without hearing anything before I called them back to find out what was going on. They had someone get Bob to check, and then called me back and let me know that the car was ready.I got a ride over and picked up my car and the first time I went full throttle on the way back, my spark plug in cylinder 4 misfired and the check engine light came on. Because they were closed, I limped my car back first thing the next morning. They did not have any loaners available because one had broken down, so they got a different rental for me so I could get to work.They called back at the end of the day to let me know that the car was ready again and tell me that I owed a further $150 for the work. This blew me away because, not only was I not called to be informed of further cost again, I wasnt expecting to have to pay anything. When I protested, Jamie told me that because my plugs were purchased somewhere else, I had to pay for the work and the plug again. She said this is a policy with any outside parts brought to the shop. Now, I dont have any issue with the policy, and it makes sense, but I have a huge problem with the fact that they didnt explain this to me at all or even mention it when I brought the car and plugs in. After some discussion on the phone, Jamie agreed to cover the labor if I would pay for the plug ($21) to which I agreed.When I got there, Jamie told me that they had talked it over and would not be honoring the agreement we made on the phone and that I would have to pay the full $150. She said that there was no way they could have seen the damage before they installed the plug and that it had been dropped (causing reasonably extensive damage to the plug, which made me think it might have been noticeable) but that they could not have known before installing because it needed engine heat to expose the damage. She said there was no way they had dropped the plug, put anything on it, or damaged it on the installation and that it was dropped before they received it. I was careful with the plugs, and I received them from Rally Sport Direct who is a respected company in the Subaru community, so I’m not sure how.I have a lot of experience working in customer service and I know how to manage a customer relationship. If I fail to explain a critical piece of information to a customer, that is on me and my company, not the customer. If I tell a customer I am going to do something, I need to make sure I do it, period.I’m not happy to write this because they are nice people, but sadly this a customer’s only real recourse.

They were very courteous and helpful, made an opening for me in a tight spot, and did everything they could to explain my options and give me clear paperwork. I would not hesitate to give them more business if the need arises in the future.

Bob is a very confident and honest mechanic. I will not take my Honda and Toyota to anyone but Thompson Automotive now that Bob has worked on both of our cars. These guys rock. I have had issues with my truck and taken it in to Thompson. They quote me and (Im frugal) I call around and check their quote. They are always less expensive and do a fantastic job.Aside from repairs, I take my truck there regularly for oil change and check up. They have always gone above and beyond, take the time to explain what they are doing and breakout the costs out for me so I know what Im paying for. They also do little things to help me (like install a lock, etc.) and give me a heads up on when I will will need to repair/replace things so that I can budget appropriately.And last but not least, they are a small shop - so they remember who I am and what they have done on my truck. They make sure that getting my car fixed/checked up on does not interrupt my day. I sure am glad I stumbled upon this shop. Ive saved a lot of money using them instead of the dealership. And I feel like they are looking out for me instead of trying to make money on me.

Very easily the BEST automotive repair experience I have ever had. The service was done well and the customer care is above and beyond -- my mind is blown by just how good, honest and genuine the people here are. Hard to trust mechanics, but this place is making it much easier!!

I called Thompson Automotive on fairly short notice about a pre-purchase inspection for a rebuilt car. They were able to get me in at my requested time, and they did a thorough inspection. They paid attention to the cars previous damage and my concerns with that, and reported back accordingly. I was confident in buying the car upon their recommendation, and its been a great vehicle so far. The area in which theyre located is a bit industrial, but their waiting area is nice and they offer a courtesy shuttle to the surrounding area. Everyone I interacted with was friendly. I plan to return to have the vehicle serviced at Thompson Automotive based on my experience with them as long as I have the vehicle in the Denver area.

You cant beat Thompson Automotive!They came to pick up my car from my work and brought it back to me on the same day - I didnt even have to lift a finger! Theyve diagnosed more issues with my vehicle than any other dealership Ive been to (how did the others miss these things?), but there was NO PRESSURE! They educated me on my vehicles issues and helped me form a plan in addressing them without pressuring me into paying them for rather unnecessary repairs.Plus, their employees are friendly and trustworthy unlike the stereotypical automotive worker. I have the upmost trust and respect for Thompson Automotive and their values.

Thompson developed a list of recommendations, and provided simple, easily understood recommendations, including suggestions for what to do now and what to postpone. I had a good feeling when I was told to find an ASE Certified mechanic and I came across Thompson Automotive. My car had a broken axil a mile from work in Brighton.Within 2 hours of my phone call and right after a snowstorm my car was on its way. The assessment and repairs would have been done in 3 days if it had not been for an issue with my warranty.The staff was ready, capable and courteous. If youre on the fence about which mechanic to choose, give your business to them and you wont be disappointed.

Super nice staff and not terribly expensive for the services received! They really want to ensure your happiness with the services and they have a pretty cozy lounge area and even the ability to bring you back/forth if the work will take a while.

I grew up with my dad doing all of my car care and maintenance so when I moved out of state I really struggled to find someone I could trust to take care of my car like my dad would. Thompson Automotive was the first place I have taken my car in the 7 years I have lived in Denver that I felt I could completely trust. Jaime is very welcoming in the office and Bob was straight with me about what I did and did not need to do. This was very comforting since my car is just breaking the 100,000 mile mark. My experience with Thompsons was as good as an interaction with an auto repair shop could be. I have a Nissan Quest minivan and had an expected large ($1000+) repair I needed done. Although the estimate was about $1100, the actual cost for the repair came in significantly less and I was able to use that saved money to have several other repairs performed that were really needed and that I had been putting off. Jaime (Thompson) laid out all of the repairs they recommended and the cost for each and let me choose which ones I wanted to do. There was no pressure to get any of them done, only that the shop felt that one was more important than another. After I authorized the repair work, they found another problem when they got in there and additional repairs were warranted. Jaime was seemingly hesitant to tell me about this, as if she really felt bad about it. I really did feel that she regretted giving me the bad news. She even said they wouldnt charge me for the additional labor to install the needed part, only the cost of the part would be charged! When was the last time THAT happened at a repair shop? I have some mechanical knowledge and had done some investigation on the problem with the vehicle and I was patiently listened to and my comments appeared on the final invoice along with a detailed explanation of everything the technician/mechanic did to diagnose AND repair the problem. AGAIN, I have never received such a detailed report of the process from beginning to end. Going to pick up my vehicle after the repairs were complete presented me with another pleasant surprise.The office portion of the shop was very well-appointed, clean and cozy. Youd never have known it was the office of an auto repair facility.I will go back to Thompsons for all of my auto repair needs and will definitely refer friends, family and coworkers to them! In addition to doing great work for standard car car, what I value most about Thompson Automotive is that they give you information on preventative work for your car and a timeline of when it should get done. I got my oil changed and they let me know that there were several things to repair in the next 6 months to prevent the car from breaking down on the side of the road. They also give very accurate estimates. They are always so nice and go above and beyond my expectations!

Took my Kia in for a blown gasket. There was a miscommunication and they did not catch this at first. Went through with replacing my battery and spark plugs as they suggested, however, I had to take my car back because the gasket was still blown and my engine was over heating. I spent money I did not need to because I was going to get a new vehicle if blown gasket was the case. Cost to fix the car was not worth it. Thompson Auto messed up. Thompson Auto took full responsibility and made things right. I want to thank you guys for your kind actions and I appreciate it. So much. If you take your vehicle here, be very clear with your concerns regarding repairs. These are good people though.

FINALLY a mechanic that doesnt try to rip you off at every turn and actually knows what theyre doing! I LOVE Thompson Automotive and, recommend them to EVERYONE I know. Took two cars for pre-buy inspections, each took approximately 2.5 hours. In that time, Chris and Bob checked quite literally every inch of the car from the inside out. Allowed me to go into the back and check out the car while it was on the lift; while there Bob went over everything he checked, the good, the bad, the ugly, he was very thorough and concise in his breakdowns. It gave me a good sense of mind knowing what was high priority changes and which would come up in a few months, and ones that might need to be evaluated in the long term. They were extremely knowledgeable about what the car should have, what it was missing, what other options are out there, and at the end gave a cost breakdown which I was able to use to negotiate with. I am often very weary of new mechanics but from the front office to the back, their attention to detail is unmatched, could not recommend them more!

I took my car into Thompson Automotive with transmission issues. Instead of them selling me on fixing it for me which they could of done, they did research and found out about a class action lawsuit against Nissan and that the dealers were extending the warranties and would fix my transmission for free. They easily saved me thousands of dollars! Not only do they do good work but they exercise the upmost integrity! They got a customer for life!

Very great people who care about what they do. By far the most pleasant experience I have had at a mechanics shop! The owner even stayed after hours just to chat with me and explain in detain what was wrong with my vehicle.
