Very friendly service, excellent food. Go early, they do run out of items. I got the 3 side meal, came with cornbread. The white Mac n cheese was awesome. They had Christmas stuff out and for sale already.

Great restaurant serving Southern comfort food. You have to try the pinto beans, it is the dish that made them famous. Thankful that they brought back the peanut butter pie and their cobblers are delicious. Upstairs they have a boutique that the wife likes to shop in for clothes and jewelry.

My husband said favorite restaurant he has ever been to. Food was absolutely delicious and prices are not bad. Portions are really good. Staff is friendly. The only complaint I have is the parking isnt great but its worth it,, and I would have enjoyed more onion rings! Lol! We will DEFINITELY be back! Although we live 1 1/2 hours away! Lol!

Had lunch here. Great service and atmosphere. The onion rings and chicken salad croissant sandwich were yummy. The gift shop was also a treat with bourbon balls and candies, as well as home decor items. Check it out!

The hostess wasnt very welcoming, no smile, hello anything, just how many? The place was kinda small and compact. But the food was great, portions were adequate and served in a timely manner. Our waitress was great and kept a check on us... It was a bit pricey but the food was good.

We were trying to find a convenient place off the interstate to eat and this was easy and five minutes away.We also did not want to eat at a chain and this is home owned and absolutely beautiful in an old historic home with outside dining, as well.The food was delicious! My husband ordered the turkey dinner with sides and it was presented so well and tasted even better.I decided on the hot brown and wasnt sorry, at all:))The bonus was.... a great server!

Onion soufflé absolutely amazing!!!! This place is really a hidden gem. The presentation of all their plates is so amazing the food is never a disappointment. They do run a little slow but its so worth the wait. They have a amazing server named treyvon very sweet polite and is attentive to all our needs. I highly recommend this cozy little restaurant.

Fried pickle spears are amazing. Honey chicken, meatloaf, open faced roast beef, green beans, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were great as well. Homemade candy is available near the cash register too!

We were traveling through town and stopped at this adorable, quaint little place. It truly had it all—ambiance, service and delicious food. Joan was our server and she was delightful! The food was amazing! We especially enjoyed the sweet onion soufflé. The coal miner’s cake was the best chocolate cake I have ever had in my life! I really like this restaurant but I used to really love it until they took their salmon croquettes off the menu. I was so sad when I drove from Louisville to E-town just for their croquettes and found out that they were no longer on the menu. Now it’s a cod dinner. I’m sorry but there’s plenty of restaurants in Louisville that serve an amazing cod dinner but not amazing salmon croquettes. I’m not driving all the way to E-town for cod. I’m sure there are others who feel the same way. Bring back the croquettes!!!!

Driving through town on the way back to Cincinnati and decided to stop here. It was the closest place we could find that wasnt a chain and had good reviews.Very good meal. We had the fried green tomatoes and beans and cornbread for appetizers and chicken fried chicken and hot brown for dinner. Everything was really good that we had and the portions were pretty good sized. Will definitely stop here the next time we are going through.

Quaint little place inside an old house. We loved all the different little seating areas. The onion souffle was out of this world and perfectly plated and presented on a wooden board. The country fried chicken was good as well. The burger lacked a bit of imagination for us needed A better bun and patty. But our server was friendly. The place was clean. And the little boutique upstairs was delightful.

My family and I were looking for a local place to eat at instead of the typical chain restaurants along I-65. This is a unique historic home renovated with a restaurant and gift shop on the first floor, and a boutique on the second floor.My husband ordered meatloaf with broccoli casserole and sweet potato casserole, my mother ordered chicken strips with Mac and cheese. And I ordered the honey chicken Mac and cheese. When the food arrived, my husband and mothers food was cold to the touch. My husband sent his food back, in which they microwaved his meatloaf and brought it back.While I love to support local mom and pop places, we were not satisfied with this place.

Terrific is Back Home. I have been here many times. Always excellent service and delicious food. Only thing that is difficult is what to order. Because their whole menu is great. From the meatloaf to country fried steak. Along with homemade mashed potatoes.,baby carrots and cornbread. Absolute deliciousness. Wonderful staff and priced great. The appetizer were lukewarm we had fried green tomatoes & fried pickles. The sauce pairing was good. Seats had no cushions. The entrees were good we had the open face roast beef & chicken fried chicken. The gift shop had very unique merchandise. The decor was nice

The atmosphere is very nice. As soon as you walk in you can tell that they take pride in the setup. Very cozy with gifts in the lobby area. A little too expensive for my taste but overall very nice.The food was fantastic. I ordered meatloaf and my girlfriend got the ham. The ham dinner, in my opinion, could have had more on the plate but she didn’t say anything about it. Only down side was the server didn’t get us any refills and laid the check down before the appetizer came out. But maybe that is how they do things there.Overall, I highly recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I just left. The food was good home country eating. There is no way you leave on an empty stomach. The service was awesome! We highly recommend trying this place out; small but very, very busy! We will definitely make a trip back!

This local spot was amazingly good, easily the best meat and 3 I’ve ever had, friend chicken was perfectly cooked with real gravy and mashed potatoes! Corn was awesome too and the cherry on top was the chocolate pretzel and peanut clusters for dessert. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Weve been wanting to stop and eat for quite a while. But in our trips back and forth from Florida to Michigan and back it was a little out of the way. Well we made sure we had the travel time today to take the detour. This place is great. The best fried green tomatoes Ive ever had from a restaurant. The sweet potato casserole was also amazing. This was a house transformed into a restaurant so it has a very cozy feel to it. Absolutely beautiful and so much to look at. My family and I highly recommend eating here.

Stopped in for lunch with my sister, we live 18 hours away from each other and our time together is very special. The staff was SO friendly and nice, the owner came by to greet us and tell us about the boutique upstairs. This is better than Cracker Barrel shopping while waiting for food because it’s clothes, shoes and purses haha :). This is definitely a place to stop, shop and eat! The food was amazing, fresh, just like Mama makes! The service was outstanding too! Thank you to the whole team, you made our day very special! We will be back!

Back Home is usually rated 5 stars because we love this place! Today I would give it 3 stars because service was slow (not enough staff to cover the tables - probably due to the lack of an available workforce) and there was a fly in my drink. I got a new drink and an empty apology. The worst thing is...the fly was at the bottom and I drank a great deal before discovering it. Yuck! With that said, this is not my usual experience.

Just as good if not better then home made. The desserts are down right sinful❣Cole miner chocolate cake best cake l have eaten in a long time. Fudge and pecans icing on the cake just to good for words. Melts in your mouth. The peach cobbler had great peaches and crust couldnt ask for better♥️Forgot cornbread you will love it.

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem! The food was fresh and tasted home made. Their sweet potato casserole was wonderful. The candy and gift shop area had some really great gifts and treats. We will definitely return should we find ourselves in this area again.

So we were looking for someplace other than fast food hell on our way home from Nolin and googled restaurants near me and this goldmine popped up! The wait was about 30 mins and we were getting aggravated but let me tell you all IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!! Best food I’ve had in awhile. My salad could have fed 3 people and my husband got country fried steak that melted in your mouth and I can’t even get started on the gravy it was covered in with the homemade biscuit dipped in it. And then just when are ready to go and can move cause you’re so full they tempt you with the cobbler! BEST BLACKBERRY COBBLER OUT THERE…hands down! With appetizer, drinks, entrees and dessert it was only $43 for a home cooked sit down I thought that was amazing! And the staff is amazing they were swamped and we never waited for refills or extra things we asked for! We will definitely be going back there!

While we were passing through Kentucky, my husband was determined to finally try a hotbrown. Our internet search lead to Back Home Restaurant being one of the best rated near our hotel and Im so glad it did. Everything was truly delicious. We started with fried green tomatoes which were deliciously coated in a crispy cornmeal breading and served with a yummy sauce. Then I had the chicken-fried-chicken with white gravy which was perfect! The crust was crisp and flavorful while the chicken was tender and had clearly been marinated or brined. All our sides were so flavorful--all stuff Ive had before, like green beans, but prepared like the Platonic ideal of what that dish should taste like. We could barely manage to split a dessert, but with food this good, how could you not try something? And it was worth it! The location, inside an old house, was charming and all the details were spot on. I highly recommend!

I enjoyed it I had roastbeef mashed potatoes and corn and probably 6 glasses of tea. Definitely tasted like home cooking.
