Everyone at El Cajon Hyundai are so helpful and kind. I had the best experience I’ve ever had at a car dealership. I brought my car in for service and it turned out to be way more money than expected.I thought to myself it wouldn’t hurt to just look around at cars while waiting. I met with Joel who asked me what i was looking for and actually listened to my whole situation. He introduced me to Matt who also listened to my situation. Both were so patient and brought up cars that would fit with me and my finances. Knowing that I needed a car that was a little higher up due to my back issues Joel and Matt said they were determined to get me in a new car with a payment that I could afford. Well I left today with my brand new 2022 Hyundai Venue! Thank you Joel and Matt for your kindness and patience and all around great customer service! I do NOT recommend buying a car here!!! They are nice, sure, but I got a slime-y feeling here while I was buying a car. Then I found out that they up-charge based on the market while the Kearny Mesa location does not up-charge at all, even now when there is a car microchip shortage. If you can afford to wait and buy from the Kearny Mesa location, I HIGHLY recommend waiting. Dont make the same mistake as me.
Came here for service work yesterday and by far the best experience Ive had at a dealership. Super friendly and efficient service department. Met some of the sales team and finance folks as well. Will for sure be back to look at a vehicle upgrade. Really well run dealership.

I went to the dealership for a car recall and the service was great! Juan and Karola were very helpful, friendly, professional, and are great at what they do! The service was faster than I anticipated and my car drives great!
Made an online appointment for a recall repair a week ahead of time. Never got a call that they had to use my vin to order the part. Shouldnt that have been done as soon as the appointment was seen by someone the day I made it? Wasted my time driving in from Alpine to just leave right away. Found out there was a 2nd recall that they wouldnt have been able to complete anyway as it needed a computer update and I would have to make an appointment with another dealer to get it done. So I just decided to get both recalls done at Kearny Mesa Hyundai. Ya, a lot farther for me, but I have more confidence I them to get the job done.
Great service and parts department. HOWEVER, I bought a car back in early May of this year. I still have not received my official plates because they dropped the ball. I have been getting no returned phone call in regards to this. And when I show up to talk to someone I get the runaround. They apparently didnt follow up on the needed paperwork. And my temp plates expired on 8/1/21. They refuse to issue me new temp plates even though the DMV says they can. So now I take a chance of having my vehicle impounded if I drive it.
Went to the dealership as a last straw. Been turned down everywhere. Talked with the salesman Phillip and the manager Justin. After a few hours I was approved for my truck. The customer service is excellent and professional. No haggling or pressure at all. I was so satisfied I came back and traded my wife’s Malibu in. Just waiting on finance to sign the documents and drive off. I highly recommend you come in and purchase your vehicle here. Joel helped my wife and I purchase and brand new 2022 Palisade and was able to give us a deal better than any other dealership. My wife and I shopped around and went to at least 4 or 5 other dealerships. I highly recommend going over to Hyundai of El Cajon to see Joel.
Having warranty work done. Was very happy to learn all repairs are covered by my Hyundai warranty - on a 2012 vehicle! They gave me a free Lyft to a rental car office and a free rental during repairs. Great experience! Ask for Juan in service - he and Nicole will take good care of you!
For decades, decades I have seen ol glory fly from one of the tallest flag poles is San Diego. That all changed when Hyundai took over this dealership. Because of this sole reason alone, I will never set foot on a Hyundai dealership, might as well fly the Korean flag.

Service department was a big disappointment. I brought our 2017 in for a burned out headlight and I had asked them for a new bulb. I thought it would be a quick fix ... Nope,, they made us wait for 3+ hours in the hot afternoon, then said they found that we need a whole new headlight unit that theyd have to order .. charged us $150 just for looking. Then quoted us $1,115 for the repair!! I then took it to a local small auto repair place and they fixed it in an hour, by replacing just the bulb. !! And was only $200.I figure it was one of these things:: they either wanted to take advantage of me by overcharging, or seriously did not know what was really wrong with the car. Either way, will not be back!
BEWARE! Horrendous customer service. Due to their mistake, my wife & I have received countless parking/toll tickets on a leased car we returned MONTHS ago. Every single person said they will look into it and give us a call back but, not ONE person has given us a call back. After FIVE attempts and no returned call, we were forced to speak to someone at corporate who is looking into the dealership as we speak. Take a look at their Yelp reviews.. we are not the only ones. Be careful!

Waste of time. Contacted them over the phone and spoke to a woman who was super sweet and helpful. Went over exactly what I wanted and asked for exact price out the door including all fees so I wouldnt be wasting my or my husbands time driving down there. Agreed on price (before tax) and made an appointment to go in to sign paperwork. Upon arrival was passed over to some guy who jacked up the already discussed price by almost $4000 before even adding on the tax. My husband could literally hear them discussing how to raise the price on us because we wanted to pay cash instead of finance. Shady and a waste of time.
Courteous staff friendly. They got my car worked on and helped me to get in and out as quickly as they could. They even took care of a couple recall items I was unaware of. Kudos Hyundai of El Cajon.
Service Department is way overpriced. They want $99 for a regular oil change when other dealerships charge $65. Also, when I had the oil change done I told them not to rotate my tires as I just had it done at discount tire for free. They rotated the tires anyway and I made them rerack the car and rotate tires back again. I won’t return because they are over charging for a simple oil change so I bet they are overcharging for the other items as well. I will continue to go to a Poway Hyundai as they charge fair prices.

My boyfriend and I went to get his car appraised. When we arrived they asked for his ID to make a copy. When they came back with the credit report they had both my phone number and my Drivers License on the application. I DID NOT provide any information to them at all. Neither did my boyfriend. They assured us it was an error. We decided to leave. Then the next day my boyfriend received a text asking to speak with his mom saying they spoke with her yesterday. However his mom passed away 8 years ago. Not sure what was going on but because of this we decided it was too weird that they kept pulling my information and his moms to get us to get a car with them.

Phone service for parts was polite and helpful. When I arrived to pick them up they informed me that they close at 5 and that they would not help me when google maps declares they were open and they were still at work.
This was the best car buying experience Ive had! My husband and I knew what we were looking for in a vehicle so that was the easy part. Our salesperson was Jess,and she was wonderful! She didnt pressure us at all. She was very friendly. And most importantly she was so patient and playful with my busy toddler! Hes normally pretty hesitant around people he doesnt know but he warmed up to her right away. When it came time to handle all the paperwork and boring parts of car buying, she found ways to entertain him and really helped to ease my anxiety. Everyone was so nice and helpful! Im am forever grateful we found Hyundai of El Cajon and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stress free car buying experience.

I am writing this review on behalf of my father who doesnt speak English well... He went into Hyundai of El Cajon to purchase a new Sonata two weeks ago. The salesman he met, Kamiran, was very helpful. He showed my father the exact model he was looking for and answered all questions. Unfortunately, Kamiran was the only genuine person hed meet at Hyundai of El Cajon.After my father made the decision to purchase the Sonata he was shown, he was introduced to the finance person, Jennifer Keys. Jennifer appeared helpful to my father. She mentioned multiple warranty coverages without noting an additional cost. Finally, Jennifer recommended a tire and wheel warranty for a cost of $15 per month, to which my father agreed. This was the only coverage or dealer add-on that, Jennifer mentioned the cost of to my father. She made no mention of any costs other than, vehicle purchase price, DMV fees, sales tax, finance charges, and tire/wheel warranty. During the paperwork signing, my father mentioned to, Jennifer that he had forgotten his reading glasses, but was reassured by her that its just boilerplate paperwork. My father signed all the papers and headed home, happy with his new purchase.A couple days later, when I spoke with him, I realized he paid close to $10,000 in additional warranties and dealer add-ons. Jennifer had made no mention of the cost associated with these extras.He went back to the dealer to speak with, Jennifer, regarding why he was not informed about the additional costs. Jennifer, lied and said that she explained every additional cost in detail. She said that my father had signed the contracts, (the ones that my father had vocalized having difficulty reading) and they could not be canceled. My father asked if theres anything she can do to help him. Jennifer responded that she cant help him, he has to help himself.My father contacted the third-party warranty company the following day to cancel the additional coverages (roughly $7,000). They emailed him a form to fill out and instructed him to take it to Hyundai of El Cajon in order for them to conduct a mileage verification and send the paperwork to the warranty company for cancelation.When my father arrived at the dealership, he spoke to, Justin Roberts (manager who had finalized the deal). Justin claimed he did not remember my father. He referred my father to another manager, Nick. Nick told my father that it is his first week working at the dealership and he does not know how to help. However, he said that they cannot accept the copy of the cancelation form my father had printed, that my father would have to contact the warranty company to have an original form mailed to him. My father found out from another employee that, Nick had actually been working at Hyundai of El Cajon for years.This situation has caused my father, a man in his 70s, a great deal of stress. It is clear that he was taken advantage of by this dealership. He has been referred to a lemon law attorney who will hopefully be able to recoup some of the money that Hyundai of El Cajon took out of his pocket.
ATTENTION: if youre anything like me and hate car problems, want a straightforward experience, and love piece of mind, talk to Juan in the service department! He is very knowledgeable, straight forward and keeps you updated about your car and its status. HE ALSO GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ACHIEVE THE END GOAL, IN MY CASE, FINDING A PROBLEM CAUSED BY A BUSTED WHEEL BEARING THAT TWO OTHER HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPARTMENTS MISSED!My overall experience was great and I will definitely be going back regardless of the 30 minute drive from where I live.Thank you Juan and thanks to the mechanic(s) you were working with. You all deserve more recognizition and a pay raise for going above and beyond to the level you all did.
When I called to make an appointment for some work I told them what I needed and they gave me an appointment when I got there they informed me they dont do body work, which is what I called for. Apparently no Hyundai place does Body work, they suggest a collision repair place in La Mesa. So I was a little disappointed.

Last week Thursday I took my 2016 Hyundai Elantra to Hyundai of El Cajon. It was my first time to this Dealership. Went to the service department & talked to Jonathan Schaffer about my air conditioning & antenna. He was very helpful & friendly. Tuesday dropped off my car to be fixed. I will get a call when its ready.
Wonderful experience with Kam and Jennifer. Kam provided his honest input on my needs for a vehicle and both him and the manager applied as many discounts and rebates that were available for my Kona EV. I also appreciated, Jennifers patience is answering all the questions I had about the warranty. The facility has clean restrooms and coffee. The process didnt take as long as most dealerships.
Agreed on numbers, credit approved and while i was on my 3hr drive down to pick up the car(i was told agreeing on numbers would lock in the car for me), i get a call 2hrs in to the drive to tell me the car had just gotten sold. Dont waste your time here. Bad customer service. Word means nothing. Hard inquiry for nothing as i was looking for that specific vehicle and now cant find a single one in Cali with what i need. Look for dealer that will work with you over the phone and keep there word. To make up for such an inconvinence they should be looking for another used car same like the deal was written up for. Ive worked in car sales and thats what would have been done at a GOOD dealer.

Called the Parts Department to get a door actuator for my 2003 Hyundai Sonata. Spoke to Ivan, after searching he found that the part was out of stock everywhere. He called back 5 minutes later to tell me he accidentally gave me a price for the wrong part and what I wanted will be here in a few days. That is performing at a high level and highest quality personal service.

Martin Mikha was the salesman that helped me. I only went in to get the battery replaced on my key fob for my then current car (Hyundai Sonata Hybrid). He directed me to the service desk and didnt push anything. When I came out, I asked few questions about the newest model Sonata. I was also curious about the Tucson. He answered my questions but never once was pushy. The incentives got me. Also, the fact that my car was pretty high on miles and I knew the inevitable wasnt far off. The manager worked a miracle and got my payment very close to my current payment and I am now the proud owner of a pretty smoky blue Tucson.
We are so grateful that Hyundai has moved to El Cajon! Its close to our home and convenient. Before the arrival of Hyundai in El Cajon, we drove to National City, Kearney Mesa, and Poway. The maintenance and parts crews give great service. The sales staff are courteous and relaxed.
This place is ruthless, their sale rep is not well train. There are a lot of undisclosed information that was not present to the buyer like myself. It took me close to 2 hrs just to come to deal with them at .90% apr for 60 months even though their website and advertisement present a 0% apr at 60 month. This is such a dishonest business mentality and speak a lot about Hyundai as an organization. I feel like I was being cheated at the time of the sale, because there are a lot of add-ons was being added to my contract without full discloser and the benefit of those add-on. On top of that their finance manager Jennifer is very pushy, I was not please with her customer service attitude. I should have walk out of the sale, but I really needed a car that day.I have drove the Hybrid Elantra limited edition for about 2 weeks now. I am not please with the performance of the car. If you are thinking about buying an Elantra or a Hyundai. I suggest you think twice and do your research about the car especially the electrical aspect of the car. I just purchase the car, but the car sometime turn off when Im idling. Sometime when I enter the car I have to push the start button several time for the car to start and other time its a one time push. This has always been a Hyundai issue since 2011, and they have not fix this issue for other model of their car neither. These cars should be recall, its dangerous and Hyundai should recognize this and listen to their customers. EV is becoming mainstream, yet these issues has not been perfected. Wether its a manufacturing flaw or a software flaw they need to make this as a priority if they want to be competitive.

Would not honor the deal on a new car as shown on their own website, referred to the Hyundai website for the numbers (classic bait and switch). Insisted on selling car at extra non window sticker charges with what is essentially repo tracking system and more. When Finance person insisted that Hyundai is a better brand than BMW, had just about enough. Stay away, there are better dealers elsewhere.
Buyer Beware - Hidden Costs !!! So we went to this dealership 3 times and finally decided on a vehicle. It was a certified pre owned and a previous rental at $ 18,315 so we felt comfortable with moving forward with our purchase. We than started the buying process, gave them all our information and they of course talked about all the add-ons but nothing regarding the cost of them or that we had to purchase them to purchase the vehicle. So then they ran the credit and came back with really high payment. When we asked why that doesnt make sense they then stated it was because of the add-ons. We then said we only want the extended warranty not everything else then they said they cant remove the add-ons and they stated they were too deep financially into the vehicle and needed the 6k in add-ons including the extended warranty to make a profit. (not our problem) the sticker said the price and the sticker and the internet add said nothing about add-ons they added. Please save yourself the headache and possibly covid19 exposure and go to a honest dealership.

I went in Monday 11/30/2020 looking for a new vehicle. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff but not overbearing or pushy. My husband and I had looked online prior to coming in so we had an idea of what was on the lot and what we wanted to look at. Unfortunately they could not take my trade in, but we still walked away with a beautiful, almost new, 2019 Compass with an extended warranty! Kamaran was our saleman, between him and his manager they were extremely helpful and spent a long time with my husband and I going over our options. They went above and beyond what I would have expected a dealership to do. One of our friends was impressed with our visit and bought a vehicle from them a few days after we did.

Went in with a pre-approval and a car picked out... The salesman Michael was fantastic and very friendly, however when it came down to dealing with the lending advisor Vaughn it was another story. He added on an additional 7k of options I did not want which raised my payments over a hundred a month. After adding he dropped $3500 in add-ons but refused to take off the other $3500 for an extended warranty he added. I asked why he wouldnt take them both off if I didnt want them and his comment flat out was, well thats how we make our money. He claims he removed add ons but when I asked for a print out and it shows what Id be paying for nothing adds up and he chooses to not explain it and gets defensive. I guess Ill be taking my business elsewhere, for a dealership thats only been open a month they have a lot to learn about customer service and selling cars.
I am sitting here still. Waiting for my paperwork. I was told by their sales department to come in for a offer they accepted. I clearly stated I would like to wait because of my low downpayment.... they insisted and insisted that they have special financing and can get me in $0 down with my trade in.... I clearly stated I did not want to waste my time because I live very far.... so after coming down and getting the ru around for over a hour I am told I can get a new car but not with my trade in.... dont waste your time... Nick Hill was my sales representative..... he did offer me excellent customer service from the moment I arrived. He went above and beyond to show me my options. Who ever heads the Facebook for sales has no problem lying to you so dont trust them. If you want a car from these guys go In there and speak directly to nick hill

Friend bought his car here, it had a lot of little damages on the inside, a car with 70k and 2k down payments should be less than $368... not impressed on over all staff friendliness.
